  • SAP Version to be added in the subject line while posting a question.

    Hi,
We all have been posting and answering thousands of questions on the SDN. Many times I have seen moderators asking the person who posted a question to use a correct and informative subject line.
With respect to that, I would like to suggest the moderators to add a rule in the rules of engagement asking the users to provide the SAP Version in the subject line while posting questions.
This way the person answering the question can appropriately provide information based on that version only and would save the time and effort of everyone.
Example subject line can be :
ECC 6.0 Function module xyz is not returning correct results.
I would like to know the opinion of other users too on what they think about this suggestion.
    Best regards,
    Advait

In theory - a very good idea.
In practice - hard to enforce.
On second thoght, it could be a required parameter. It might have the added benefit of dissuading questions from people who can't figure out which version they have

  • Why am I seeing REPLY_SUBJECT_PREFIX before the subject line of some of my emails?

Lately, on my iPhone 5, I've been seeing REPLY_SUBJECT_PREFIX before the subject line of some (but not all) of my emails.
Also, when I go into Mailboxes/Accounts, and select an email account, instead of seeing:
    INBOX
    SENT
    DRAFTS
    etc.
    I'm seeing:
    INBOX_SPECIAL_MAILBOX
    SENT_MESSAGES_SPECIAL_MAILBOX
    DRAFTS_SPECIAL_MAILBOX
Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know how I can get things back to "normal"?
    Thanks.

Well, I'm still not sure why it happened, but if you're reading this and you've got a similar problem, the thing to do is to reset the iPhone (hold home button and power button (the one at the top) down at the same time for several seconds). That seems to have fixed the problem.

  • Passing parameters to the subject line of SmartForm in an email

    Hello Experts,
Our SmartForm needs to be sent via email, & the subject line will be the Description of smartform.
Now, I am fetching a value via code in a segement & need to pass this value to the subject line.
I know it can be declared as &V1&, but am confused as to how to frame it.
Should it be declared explicitly in the initialization?
    Hope for your help.

  • How do I access the subject line when I send an email?

This never used to be a problem until recent "upgrades" but I can't put a subject for an email in the subject line even though I am constantly prompted to do so when I send an email. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust preferences anymore either.

There is a way to remove the Subject line!!
    follow these steps:
go to Settings > Messages > uncheck "Show Subject Field "
Thats it! You're problem will be solved!

  • ICloud Mail will not let me enter a subject in the Subject line

all of a sudden iCloud Mail will not let me enter a subject in the Subject line.  It even alerts me that there is no subject in the Subject line when i send an email but still wont let let the cursor enter anything in the subject line

When you add an iCloud account with Lion or Mt Lion there's no need to add an incoming mail server if you are using the built in mail app. It is automatically configured for you.

  • Adding a subject in the subject line of mailto

    Hi
I have created some code in the CO with setDestination(mailto). When the customer clicks the link it will open up an email page. Is it possible to populate the subject line in the email with code in CO?
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi
    Thanks its works.
Any reason why this would not return a subject line
    String custName = pageContext.getParameter("CustomerName");
    OAMessageStyledTextBean linkBean =(OAMessageStyledTextBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("CustomerName");
    linkBean.setDestination("mailto: [email protected]?subject"+custName)
I need the subject line to be that of the client thats busy being queiried.

  • Why can't I enter the cursor in the "Subject" line of my iCloud email?

Until a few days ago (May 3, 2014), I had no problem sending email from iCloud Mail on my Vaio (VPCEB11FD) laptop. Now I can do everything necessary to send an email, except complete the "Subject" line. I can send an email but I have to type my "Subject" into the email body itself, as the "Subject" box will not allow my cursor in. Can you help me with this issue?

Can you start by giving us the troubleshooting information from the Firefox installation that's having problems. This is an essential step in troubleshooting.<br>
*Click the Firefox button at the top left, then click the ''Help'' menu and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the sub-menu. If you don't have a Firefox button, click the Help menu at the top and select ''Troubleshooting Information'' from the menu.
Now, a new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
*At the top of the page, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
*Now, go back to your forum post and click inside the reply box. Press Ctrl+V to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:
*'''Windows/Mac''': Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
*'''Linux''': Run ''firefox -safe-mode'' in the Terminal/Konsole
If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.

  • When I send an email to someone it always says SPAM in the subject line. I know this because I "c.c." the message to myself and it says SPAM. How to stop this?

When I send a email to someone it always says SPAM in their subject line. I know this because I "cc" or b.c.c myself on important messages and when the "cc" or "bcc" comes back, it will say [SPAM] in front of whatever else I had written in the subject line to the intended recipient. How can I stop the word SPAM from showing up in the subject line of my own outgoing messages? I don't want the recipient delete my message thinking it is spam. Help!

Could you check whether [SPAM] appears on the subject line if you view your messages directly on the server (for example, using a webmail page in your web browser)? This will help distinguish an accusation coming from a web server vs. any spam filter you may have installed on your computer that examines the mail while Thunderbird retrieves it.

When in Yahoo mail, the OPEN WEB LOCATION box opens for each letter I try to type in in the "To" line and/or the "Subject" line of any new e-mail to someone. It takes forever to type anything. This started when I updated Firefox to the new 21 version. I Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No help. I uninstalled 21 and re-installed 19 (I was using 19 with no problems until today). No help. The problem will not go away. I note that others have complained of this problem. Is there a fix yet? I have been forced back to IE in the meantime.

hello, you have two extension present in your profile (DownloadTerms 1.0 & WhiteSmoke New 10.16.2.509) that could be considered malware.

  • I use Go Daddy Web Mail and FireFox may be preventing me from being able to put text into the subject line when composing an email.

As the question / statement says, When in Firefox, once I've started my webmail application through Go Daddy, I can compose an entire email filling out all the required info. But, when I put the mouse over the 'Subject Line' and click, no cursor appears.
Having walked through this with Go Daddy, they are convinced that it's FireFox because we opened up their webmail with 2 other browsers and both allowed me to plug in a subject line.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

  • Capture a field and make that the subject line?

Great forum. Looks like I will be coming here and getting new tricks. Thanks for the support.
I am new to this so if this has been covered bear with me.
I would like to capture a field and make that value the subject line for the email when the user submits the form.
Specifically...use the Headlining Act Field as the Subject Line for the email.
Is this really obvious and I just missed it?
    thanks.

    dbuchanan,
You were asking about predetermining the name of the XML data file that gets generated when you submit data from Acrobat.
The name of the XML data file should always be the name of the file. Therefore, if the PDF file is named "test.pdf", the data file should end-up being "test.xml". The only catch is that if the form is opened in a browser, it means that it's been saved locally in a temporary folder
and with a temporary file name. That's when you start getting an XML data file that's named something like "TGA123DE.xml".
I know this may not necessarily solve your problem but I think it may at least explain why you're seeing different (unpredictable) XML data file names.

  • Javascript to pull a PDF field into the Subject line of email?

I've created a fillable PDF form using Pro X.  I'd like to program the Submit button so that once in the email portion, the subject line would automatically pull 3 specific fields from the PDF file.
Example:  After hitting "Submit"....once in the email, I'd like the Date, Vendor Name, and PO # from the PDF form to automatically pull into the Subject line.
I have to PDF the complete document and go through the Desktop Email Application on my PC.
    Thank you!

    Hello Everyone,
I am having the same issue as tlg814 with needing three fields to pull into the subject, and I followed the blue print of the code as well, but I am only getting one field to populate in the subject line.  I am using Acrobat XI. Here is my code:
    Mouse up> Run a JavaScript
    var parts = getField("SR#", "Urgency", "Ship To").value
    this.mailDoc({
    cTo: "[email protected]",
    cCc: "[email protected]",
    cSubject: parts,
cMsg: "Please create a Parts Request for the items in this email. Thanks"
Any thoughts as to why it is not pulling all three fields?
    Thanks

  • What are the switches I can add to the subject line of an eprint email?

I see some commands listed here and there but nothing comprehensive in a single location. If it were a command line I would enter "eprint -?" to get the help text listing all available commands.

    Hello Arkle,
I think you meant that you can leave the body blank and it will print.  If you leave the subject line blank, ePrint may see the email as spam and reject it.  ePrint jobs should always be sent with a subject, but can be sent without a body.  I do not mean to correct you, but that confusion could cause some problems to arise.

  • Can I change the Subject line of a saved email?

Sometimes I save an email and want to revise the subject line so it's more descriptive of what's actually in the message. I remember being able to do this in Outlook, but can't quite figure out how to do it in Apple Mail. (And I don't want o have to forward it to myself, as that changes the From line.)
Is there a way to simply edit the Subject line of a saved email?

Actually, MailTags will kind of do what you want. You can tag a message in a number of ways, and one of them is to make a note, and display that note as the subject of the email. For example, I have a message:
    Re: Re: Initial generic topic
Which actually contains useful information, so in MailTags I make a note "Pablo's Thesis Results" and click "Show as Subject", and now I see the subject as
    Pablo's Thesis Results
    Matt
