Why many unwanted spaces are present after conversion by PDF to WORD?

Sorry, can you help me?

I would suggest you look at the fonts that are being used. It may be a font issue that is not properly being read by the translation program.

    Why does it take so long to convert my PDF to word.docx? It has been going for more than 30 minutes.

    There could be several reasons. It may be that Acrobat spent that time trying and ran into too many bottlenecks. As a test you might print the PDF to a new PDF and try the conversion on the new PDF. It might be there is a problem with the original PDF that the print process would fix..

  • Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

    Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

    Word 2013 uses its own pdf creator engine as far as I know. The step I performed were:
    1 - In the save settings I told word to embed fonts (sorry for the language, I have the Italian client)
    2 - Export from Word -> Save As -> .pdf adding also the table of contents/index
    N.B. I cannot use PDF/A, and in any case it doesn't embed the font
    A working solution is to use Acrobat XI to convert it or print with Adobe PDF printer, results:
    The problems are 2:
    1 - It doesn't create any bookmark and doesn't create links from the table of images to the linked images
    2 - Images, also with the preset "High Quality Printing" customized using "No compression", are really ugly and if you zoom a bit more than 100% they totally be s**t. It wasn't that way with PDF created by word.
    In the end, or I find they way to open the pdf created by word and embedd the missing font, or I find a way to make Acrobat XI creating bookmarks from the word file.
    Suggestion?

    I decided to put it away last night and start fresh this morning with a fresh mind, as I had logged in, loaded into the cloud, etc. as I was prompted to do at every new screen.  This morning I took a new direction and  I logged in at Adobe.com, found my account management info (which I couldn't figure out how to access last night).  It appears that you don't have any services associated with my account at all, and that the version I was using was a free service?  However I have a record of paying Adobe $29.95 on December 9th.  What exactly did I pay for if I do not have any services in my account?  Below is the transaction from my visa.  Can you look into this for me, or should I go through the account management help service?

  • Retain the metadata associated with a doc after conversion to pdf

    I am using word automation service to convert word document to a pdf in a sharepoint 2010 document library. however after the conversion of the document from word to pdf the associated metadata is lost. (i.e the converted document which is added to the library doesn't retain
    the old metadata like duedate,doc id etc...)
    Can someone help me how to retain the metadata associated with list after conversion of document to PDF.
    I am using one ItemAdded event reciever in which when I am trying to looping out the library in which all word documents are there, I am not getting the last updated document that got converted into pdf.
    Code which I am using is below: Here destContenttype is content type of the the document and destFilename is file name of the document.
     SPListItemCollection newLstItms = lstNonPublishLst.GetItems(newSqlQuery);
                    foreach (SPItem newItem in newLstItms)
                        if (newItem["Content Type"].ToString() == destContenttype && newItem["Name"].ToString().Split('.')[0] == destFileName[0])
                            properties.ListItem["Document Number"] = newItem["Document Number"];
                            properties.ListItem.SystemUpdate();
                            break;
    Please advise, it is really urgent.

    I have worked on copying SharePoint meta data (and painfully fine tuning it to deal with all exceptions, 3rd party apps and content types) for the last 8 years. Not full time though :-)
    It is part of a commercial product that does PDF Conversion in SharePoint and takes great care of dealing with meta data. Have a look at
    this blog post.
    Apologies for the shameless plug, but as you are in a hurry it may be the best, and most reliable, solution.
    Disclaimer, as I mentioned I worked on this product so consider me biased.

  • Why Conversion failure PDF to Word?

    I am new to this but just tried to convert two files from PDF to Word and got Converstion Failure message.  PDF files are 50 meg each + a few photos/art.  If too large, how do I break the PDFs up?  If photo is the issue, how do I work around this?

    Hi bergmanc,
    It sounds like there may be an issue with the file that you're trying to convert. Have you tried to convert other files? If so, are they converting without error?
    Please tell me a little more about the file that you're trying to convert. For example, what is its file size, how many pages does it have, are there lots of graphics, or a mix of fonts? If the file is complex, it may be that the ExportPDF service is timing out before it can complete the conversion process. It also possible, that the PDF may not be written properly, if t was created by a third-party appellation.
    You can simplify the conversion process by disabling OCR as described here: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community (but this solution isn't optimal if the PDF was created from a scanned document.)
    Please let us know a bit more about your file, and we'll see what we can figure out.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Incorrect displayed pictures after conversion docx- pdf

    Hello,
    I use Acrobat X Pro and I want to create a PDF using the "Create PDF" function in Acrobat itsself.
    In the word document there are excel charts. But they are insert from excel to word as graphic! The charts have some table elements filled with stripe patterns.
    But after conversion it looks like that:
    Any idea?
    Thank you very much in advance!

    I ran these in AA 9.5 with a print from WORD. The settings file was set to my default of the IEEE publications settings (for Journals). You could also try press or print settings. The standard and smallest size settings do not do very well for a lot of graphics. Any way here are the two pages captured on screen at 200%. I can try AA XI if you like.
    and
    I redid the experiment with AA XI. Unfortunately on this machine I do not have OFFICE, but have LibreOffice. I am including the results or printing to the Adobe PDF printer from LibreOffice. I have cut and pasted the view of both pages (as in your PDF).
    and
    Actually, the LibreOffice version looks better to me than the MS version. For some reason the second table seems messed up, but that is how it looks in LibreOfffice also. I do not use LibreOffice much and so I may have not done some things correctly. However, that gives you another view.

  • I have downloaded the converter program and the conversion from PDF to Word is terrible. Is there a better solution or setting?

    I am trying to convert a PDF to Word without re-typing.  I downloaded the converter program onto my MAC but the conversion was terrible.  Unusable.  Is there a better way.  I also have a PC so I could try that as well if would make any difference.

    "Scanned"  Scanned anything starts you with an image / picture of the page content that was on the source paper.
    There is no "renderable" text. OCR can provide an output of text that can be exported. Without that all that is exported is the image.
    As to OCR, Acrobat's ClearScan lends itself to repurpose via the export process.
    Regardless, anything sourced from a scanner output is the "pig's ear" and that'll not yield the "silk purse".
    Export is dictated by the input (GIGO). Export output identifies input quality.
    As a C Student stated a Word file (being well-built helps) that sourced the PDF will yield workable export back to Word.
    PDF's sourced for FrameMaker export rather nicely.
    For optimal export always start with a well-formed Tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
    Two core design considerations of tagged PDF are (1) support Accessible PDF and (2) support export (repurpose) of PDF content.
    Be well...

  • Why do I see incorrect fonts when I create PDFs from Word

    When I first started using Acrobat (versions 3 through 5), it was an incredible product because it could create an exact copy of a document I created with a DTP program. I could send that PDF to someone who did not have the DTP program, yet the recipient saw exactly what I created in the DTP program. That's what made Acrobat great. It worked flawlessly.
    Now I have Acrobat Pro XI, and I can't create a PDF from Word and get the correct fonts. I've seen quite a few messages on this forum and elsewhere indicating that other people have this problem, too. But I haven't found a solution. I've tried many things that are suggested--embed fonts, don't embed fonts, and different settings. Nothing seems to work. I've spent hours on this insted of doing the job I am paid for (writing). So I'd be very glad if anyone knows how to fix this.
    A few specifics:
    - Using Word 2010 and Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.3. Windows 64 bit.
    - Most fonts are OK, but some appear to be substitutes. For example, some headings that are supposed to be Tahoma bold-italic come out as something different. It's a lighter weight font. I don't know what it is.
    - Creation method from Word: Acrobat Tab, Create PDF or File > Save As PDF. Either way I get the wrong fonts.
    - Print to Adobe PDF printer DOES produce the correct fonts, but this doesn't help because you don't get bookmarks (which are a critical part of our final PDF product).
    - At one point it seemed that a Word setting, File > Options > Save > Preseve fidelty when sharing this document, but it didn't always work.
    - I've seen this same problem on four computers, all using Word 2010 and Acrobat Pro XI.
    Some messages suggest that rolling back to Acrobat 8 will solve this problem. It's hard to believe that's the only solution.

    I was starting to think this might be an issue with font fauxing (I think that's the tech term). You've confirmed it.
    Here's what can happen.
    Font designers design a font, and (if they have the enthusiasm) bold and italic and bold-italic versions of the font. If you compare carefully, you will see that they are often quite different designs (look at lower case "a" for example, you'll often see that different in italic). Anyway, in an ideal world the font designer has provided four font files. Choose the bold/italic buttons in Word and it (well, actually Windows) picks the right font file.
    But Word never forbids you from choosing those buttons even if the font files aren't there. (As an aside, pro design tools like InDesign WILL stop you choosing a style for which there is no font file, because what happens next in Word is considered evil).
    If you ask Windows (or Mac OS) to show you a font in italic and there is no italic font file, it will take the regular file and slant each character. This may look different from the italic design font, it may also have different spacing. But to the casual word processor user, all is fine. (The pro designer says "oh my, look at that"). No bold? The font letters get thickened up somehow, often with ugly results, but the casual user is happy, because it's clearly the same font and clearly bolder. These processes are called "fauxing" (from making a faux or fake font).
    But what happens in a PDF? PDFs will not faux fonts, and they don't have to. If you make a PDF it's like printing. To print a faux italic font, a slanted font prints. Generally looks no worse than the screen font. To print a faux bold font there are several different techniques, all ugly. One is to print several copies of each letter, slightly set off from each other but overlayed. This isn't only ugly, copy/paste often yields something like BBBOOOLLLDD TTTEEEXXXTTT. Often the printed bold faux font doesn't look much like the screen bold faux font. And here we have your situation exactly.
    Now, I see only Tahoma and Tahoma-Bold on my computer too. You could see if anyone seels an Italic/BoldItalic version, or if they are bundled with some Microsoft software (which you'd need to own, the fonts can't be freely copied). But really this is sending the message - use a different font. I'd use Arial, where Windows has had all four files included since Windows 3.1 was released.

  • Batch conversion from pdf to Word

    How do I create an action or batch processing step that will convert a large number of pdf files to Word?
    I can convert a large number of files TO pdf, but it seems like you can't easily export pdf to Word. I tried downloading one of the actions on the Adobe web site that claimed to do this, but it says the file is corrupt.
    I have 15,000 pdfs in a directory and I want to convert them to Word (they have already been OCR'ed using the batch mode).
    Surely there is a straightforward way to do this?
    BTW: I apologize if this is the wrong community, but I couldn't find a better place to post this question.

    Dear Gilad D,
    Thanks very much. I can make this work. This is a big help.
    What I really would have liked is a command line tool on the Mac, like textutil, that allows this:
    pdf2word in_file.pdf out_file.pdf
    It is amazing how hard it is to do such simple command line things in this era of GUIs. For those of us who operate on large piles of data, command line interfaces are indispensable.
    MVP: You are correct. Even Apple's Automator seems to choke when you give it too many files.
    The only drawback of this approach is that the Action doesn't seem to descend the directory tree (like selecting files from finder will let you do). The reason I actually need a command line tool is that the pdf files are scattered about a file system with other pdfs that I don't want to convert. However, I can script around this.
    Thanks very much!!!

  • Conversión PDF A WORD

    La conversión de archivos PDF a WORD tiene pésima calidad, con que herramientas se cuenta para mejorarla?

    Hi meriba
    ¿Cómo está convirtiendo el documento?

  • Why is a space always added after each img ?

    Hello,
    I have an input TextField, in which I want to add text and images. But each time I add a new image in the textField (via an <img> tag), a space character is added after every other <img> in the TextField. Why is that ?
    You can test it for yourself :
    function test():void
                var tf:TextField = new TextField();
                tf.multiline = true;
                tf.text = "Hello World";
                trace("1/ tf.length", tf.length);
                trace("1/ tf.text", tf.text);
                trace("1/ tf.text.length", tf.text.length);
                trace("1/ tf.htmlText", tf.htmlText);
                trace("1/ tf.htmlText.length", tf.htmlText.length);
                var htmlText:String = tf.htmlText;
                htmlText += "<img src='image.gif' id='0'/>";
                tf.htmlText = htmlText;
                trace("2/ tf.length", tf.length);
                trace("2/ tf.text", tf.text);
                trace("2/ tf.text.length", tf.text.length);
                trace("2/ tf.htmlText", tf.htmlText);
                trace("2/ tf.htmlText.length", tf.htmlText.length);
                htmlText = tf.htmlText;
                htmlText += "<img src='image.gif' id='1'/>";
                tf.htmlText = htmlText;
                trace("3/ tf.length", tf.length);
                trace("3/ tf.text", tf.text);
                trace("3/ tf.text.length", tf.text.length);
                trace("3/ tf.htmlText", tf.htmlText);
                trace("3/ tf.htmlText.length", tf.htmlText.length);
    Before the first image, the text equals "Hello World" (as expected)
    Before the second image, the text is "Hello World\r "
    And after the second image, it is "Hello World\r  \r "
    So there are two spaces after the first image. And if you add a few images in the initial htmlText, they will have two more spaces at the end of the function.
    Does anybody knows why is it, how to disable this behavior, or simply fix it ?
    A big thanks to the one who can help me, I'm really stuck with this.

  • Why lost Missing Files & Missing Albums after conversion to Mac?

    I have 2 issues. Firstly, by Reconnecting for Missing Files, the system searches but never finds the photos. Is there another way of reconnecting my Missing Files. These appear to be photos which I enhanced on Elements but saved to My Piictures or  photos imported from another camera to my laptop. Secondly, I wanted to transfer all my photos on to a new Mac from my Windows laptop. I have downloaded the Elements to Mac on the Mac but when I backed up all photos to an external hard drive from Windows, then loaded to my Mac, all the photos came across but none of my Albums. Where can I go from here please? Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

    Hi Barbara,
    Thanks for your reply. I would appreciate any help you can offer.
    I am using PSE 11 and this was installed on my old Windows laptop (which I have been using for a couple of years now) and the Mac version on my new MacBook Pro. Both discs were supplied with the original purchase of Elements 11 but I had not used the Mac version until now.
    I loaded the Mac version of Elements to my Mac and this opened just fine but obviously with no photos showing.
    I backed up my photos on Elements/Windows on to a new external hard drive, then plugged that hard drive into my Mac. I then transferred my photos from the external hard drive into the Elements on my Mac. All the photos came over but NOT the Albums to which my 10,000 photos had all been allocated in my Windows version.
    I know that some 500 photos are "Missing" but I think that this is a different matter (see my original Forum Question log).
    I look forward to hearing from you.
    Thanks
    Stephen
