Why my Mac won't connect automaticly to Wifi from boot or when waking from sleep?

Hi!
I have 2TB Time Capsule with bridged WiFi.
When I reboot or wake up my MBP from sleeping it won't connect automaticly to my Home WiFi network. I allways need to connect by hand. This problem has been in the Os X Lion and Os X Mountain Lion.
Any other WiFi networks don't have this problem, only with Time Capsule.
Time Capsule has 7.6.1 software and also older software's had this exact same problem
My MBP is:
2.3GHz Intel Core i5
8GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
And the WiFi chip is:
Card Type:          AirPort Extreme  (0x14E4, 0xD6)
Firmware Version:          Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.106.98.81.20)
Does anybody else run in to this kind of problem?
Oh and everything else with WiFi is working normally (Phones, iPad's etc even PC's =) )

I was having this same issue with a brand new 2012 MacBook Air after updating to Mountain Lion and using an AirPort Extreme. Most times waking from sleep would result in a lockup as the system would continously try to find my network (the WiFi menu would just keep cycling). After going to 10.8.1 it still continued so I started looking at other possibilities. I noticed that the security setting on my AirPort Extreme (current generation) was set to WPA/WPA2. I changed it to WPA2 and the problem so far (2 days in a row) has gone away.

  • My mac won't connect to my wifi. My wifi is working fine with iPad and iphone

My Mac Pro will not connect to my wifi yet my wifi is working fine on my iPad/iPhone.
I don't have a direct line where my mac pro is located.
My time machine is located next to the mac and I have tried stating up anew network.
    Help please.

I'm experiencing this problem as well. I've come ot the conclusion that my computer was one of the many that got internet connection cut because of malware since it just happened at miodnight (the 9th), though I have no idea how I would have gotten it. Any ideas??

  • Why does my computer tell me the "Disk was not properly ejected" when waking from sleep mode?

I am a real "Newbie" to Mac OS. I have a new iMac 21.5" running OS X Lion. When I awake the computer from sleep mode with the spacebar on the keyboard, I get the message "The disk was not ejected proper, etc.". Iss there something I am doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Mike G.

I am one of those who had experienced this kind of problem.  My former Time Machine disk used to automatically eject itself when my iMac sleeps, hence upon waking up my iMac. i always get the error message that the disk was not properly ejected.
From what I was able to gather from my experience, until the time that I found a workable solution, I think I can say that the problem is most probably caused by the incompatibility of certain external drives with how the iMac operates when on sleep and upon waking up.  Some external drives are just not able to cope with how the iMac tries to remount a connected disk after it wakes up from sleep.  There are just some external drives that cannot continue to be mounted after the iMac wakes from sleep.  There are just some external drives that are not responsive enough. In other words, the existence of the problem lies with the type of external drive you are using.
My former Time Machine disk, the problematic one, was an Imation M300 Apollo 1 TB external disk.  It unmounts everytime my iMac went to sleep, but does not remount after waking up the iMac.  The disk will continue to be unmounted until I physically remove its USB connector and replug it in the iMac.
I replaced my former Time Machine disk with my current one, a Transcend Storejet 1 TB.  And the problem went away.  The Transcend disk continue to be mounted after the iMac is woken up even from the longest of sleep.  I have even the energy saving option "put the hard disk to sleep..." checked.  The Transcend disk comes with a Y cable, i.e. it has two USB connectors, but I only connect the one for both data and power--and it still remains mounted even after waking the iMac from sleep.
The sad realization, however, is that since there are only some external drives that are not able to work with the iMac, no matter how many those some may seem to be, it will be highly unlikely for Apple to itself fix this kind of a problem.
I, therefore, make the following recommendations:
    1.  Check first if your problematic disk has a firmware upgrade available.  In some cases, the firmware upgrade may be enough to make the disk more responsive to the iMac waking up.
    2.  If there is no firmware upgrade available, check if your power/data USB cable is properly working.
    3.  If your power/data USB cable is in order, and the problem still persists, I think it is inevitable that you have to replace the problematic disk with a newer one that could respond well with the iMac's wake/sleep operation.  With what disk will you replace your problematic one?  I can only recommend from my personal experience the Transcend disk I mentioned earlier.  You may also search this forum on other brands of disks that may also work.
    Regards.

  • Do you know how to keep my mac pro air to connect automatically to wifi

I have problem keeping my Mac pro air to connect automatically to wifi .

It depends on what your settings are set at.
Are you talking about to your own Network, or are you talking about recognising and connecting to Hot Spots.
Go up to the left of the date and you will see the Airport Icon single click it and it should give you the Networks that you are in range of, You connect by choosing the network you want to join. If you need more info be more specific what you need.

  • My mac won't connect to the router.

I am very new to macs and recently bought a Macbook pro, I have connected to my router a D-Link, DSL-G604T but when I enable WEP security the mac won't connect only my PC's will. I am prompted by the mac to put in my Encryption key but it still doesn't work. I am able to to set the router to WPA-PSK but get stuck on the length of the string that I am supposed to put in? Will this set up work better?? Very stuck mac virgin, pleas help.

First, I strongly suggest that you use WPA or WPA2 instead of WEP for your wireless encryption...but if you must use WEP & work in a mixed (PC/Mac) environment...
Always use Hex characters for WEP encryption. Either 10 Hex characters (for 40-bit WEP) or 26 Hex characters (for 128-bit WEP)
If you use an ASCII password or passphrase, then use either 5 ASCII characters (for 40-bit WEP) or 13 ASCII characters (for 128-bit WEP)
Note: Because manufacturers may use different algorithms to translate between ASCII & Hex, that this doesn’t always work, and is one of the leading causes of issues with keys.

  • Mac won't connect to ftp server for iweb

my mac won't connect  to the ftp server. i have been
trying to publish a site on iweb

Well, do you actually have a web host server to be able to connect to in the first place.  You need this before you can publish a website from iWeb in that way.
Also, you don't publish a site on iWeb.  You use iWeb to design your website and then publish from iWeb to your web host/server.
What version of iWeb are you using?
More info generally would be useful.

  • Imac G5 Isight won´t connect automatically to Wireless Network

My Imac G5 Isight won´t connect automatically to my wireless network.
Everytime I turn it on, I have to manually select the network on the networks list.
I checked system preferences, and marked that I wanted to connect automatically, but still no luck.
It used to work just fine.
    Any ideas?

Try deleting your network keychains. Worked for me.

  • Itunes won't connect to active WiFi

I've read all the forums and topics but still haven't found the answer to why iTunes won't connect to the WiFi at my home. I have no password on my WiFi. Other computers in the home use it just fine. Safari on iPhone works great. I reset the network on iPhone and chose the home network. There are plenty of bar showing it's active but I keep getting the same message in iTunes that it can't connect to iTunes because it needs a WiFi connection. What else can I possibly be missing. I've been using Mac since '84 so I'm quite experienced with all settings and what they do but this one has me stumped. What can you suggest. (new iPhone 3G)

You are not connected to your WiFi network as you do not see the WiFi symbol on the iPhone you can see the 3G symbol. The iTunes Store on the iPhone does not work via 3G it only works via WiFi.
Clearly you are not getting access to the internet via your WiFi.
You should turn on WiFi on the iPhone and then you will see the iPhone searching for wireless networks. Your WiFi should appear in the list and you should then select it by touching it in the list. It should then have a tick mark against it in the list. If it does then touch the blue circle next to the WiFi name which will show you the details of the WiFi you are connected to, if the screen does not contain IP addresses then you are not connected to the internet, even though you may have WiFi connection. Are you sure the WiFi you are connected to has working internet?

  • Why are my emails not deleting from all devices when deleted from one?  I have iCloud set up and turned on. I have ipad2, iphone5 and a Mac. What am I doing wrong?  Thank you

Why are my emails not deleting from all devices when deleted from one?  I have iCloud mail set up and turned on. I have ipad2, iPhone 5 and a Mac desktop. What am I doing wrong?  Thank you.

It depends on the type of email account you are using, not on iCloud.  If you are using an IMAP or exchange account, when you delete from one device, it is deleted from all devices.  If you are using a POP (POP3) account, it won't.  (iCloud email, Gmail and Yahoo are all IMAP accounts.)

  • My MacBook won't connect to my wifi

II've recently got a new bthub5. Since then my Mac won't connect. I've gone into system preferences but there's no AirPort only Ethernet not connected. And it also says cable unplugged. My mac has worked since the new hub but now it isn't. I'm very close to the hub. All other devices work. Even bt vision.
    Can an anyone help please?

Remove all the old wireless names in the Macbook.. clear out the whole lot.. reboot the laptop and scan again.
No luck reset the wireless in the BThub to fixed channel, short name no spaces and pure alphanumerics. No security just for a test. Can the Mac now find it.. if not it is incompatible.

  • Powerbook G4 Airport Won't connect to my Wifi

I have a Powerbook G4 that won't connect ot my wifi.
My home network consists of a CIsco Vallet router broadcasting in Mixed B/G/N mode.
    SSID is broadcasting
    Channel is Auto
    Channel Width is Auto
    WPA/WPA2 Personal Encryption
The Powerbook will detect the wifi network, prompt for the password attempt to connect then it tells me "Connection timed out"
    Any ideas?

I don't know if you tried it but sometimes restarting router might help. Does your laptop connect to anyother wireless ? You should try other places.
Try checking software updates , make sure you have the latest Airport update.
Some routers might not work properly with older Macs. For example , I have a 2011 router , g3 and g4 machines can't connect to it .
    Good luck

  • My iMac won't connect to the wifi it has been connecting to for a year.  All other devices still work.  Any suggestions?

IiMac won't connect to the wifi anymore. All other devices still work with wifi any suggestions?

    Try the basics first:
Change your router channel number.  Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem.  unplug it for about 10 seconds.  Plug it back in.  Do the same for Apple’s routers.  Wait for everything to reboot.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.
