  • My macbook pro can't detect the NAS after the NAS reboot.

After I reboot the QNAP NAS, my macbook pro can't detect the NAS. I can't find the NAS drives in Finder even I input the new IP address. I remember my macbook pro was able to detect the NAS automatically before. Please help.

Yes.  If you have a non retina MBP, look at some options listed here:

  • MacBook Air, can I partition my Mac external drive to have an ISO image file location for Windows downloads?

Hi, in preparation for installing bootcamp and windows 7, and in the absence of a DVD drive on my MacBook Air, can I partition my Mac external drive to have an ISO image file location for Windows downloads?

The Boot Camp instructions are located here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

  • When I try to burn a CD off of my MacBook Air (from iTunes) using the external CD drive, it acts like it is burning the CD, but then when I try to play it the CD is blank.

    Many thanks for the diagnostics.
Failed while scanning for CD / DVD drives, error 2380.
Error while opening iTunes CD driver.  This could be caused by a corrupted iTunes file or a conflict with other older CD burning applications, either currently installed or previously installed and uninstalled incorrectly.
With that one, I'd start with solution 3 from the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install

  • Boot Camp with Win 8 Can't See The USB External Drive [MBR with NTFS, Fat32, HFS Partitions]

Hi. When I boot to Boot Camp with the latest Apple Windows Support drivers can't see my USB Flash Drive, DVD and OS X volumes but not my USB external drive that has an MBR partition scheme (using iPartition from GUID) and in there it has different volumes [HFS when I boot to Snow Leopard, Fat32, NTFS]. What can I do with Boot Camp to make it see my USB external drive and why isn't it seeing the USB when it can see the USB flash drive both use USB?
    Thank you in advance.
    God bless.

Buy Paragon NTFS for OS X $20.

  • Macbook Pro won't book from USB flash drive

I have a brand new Macbook Pro with the thunderbolt.  The internal hard drive works great and I can boot up from it just fine.  But we want to create an image on a USB flash drive that we can use when troubleshooting the other Macbook Pro's we have at the office.  So I got a 16 gb flash drive which should be big enough.  I ran the white Snow Leopard DVD and tried to put the OS on the USB flash drive.  When it tried to reboot on the Macbook Pro it got the error screen which some weird code and said that you computer needs to be restarted.  As long as the USB flash drive was connected it wouldn't boot.
So I wanted to see if this was hardware specific so I tried it on an IMac.  I was able to create a OS X bootable USB Flash Drive and was able to boot the IMac with it with no trouble.  Having gotten ti to work on the IMac I tried it again on the Macbook Pro, still get the error screen when it tries to boot up.
Is there anything special I need to do to get this to work?  It's crucial to our organization to get this to work.  Thanks.

    Hi R,
You can always book it with you agent, don't you?
Ok, sorry for that, getting on. Try to use Carbon Copy Cloner to create the copy.
The issue can be related to USB devices and/or connectors, did you try other USB port? Do you have the same boot problem with other USB devices? The active USB connection preventing boot are frequently seen.
    Good luck, K.

  • HT4539 How can I download the song that I purchased into the USB flash drive?

After it has finished downloading to your iTunes library, drag it to the flash drive.

  • As a new MacBook user I plug in my USB Flash Drive but don't know how to access its contents. Please help. Thanks.

as a new MacBook user, when inserting my USB Flash Drive, I do not know how to access its contents. Please help. Thanks.

Open a new Finder window, Finder > File > New Finder Window, and it should appear on the left under Devices.
If you don't see it there, or to get it to show up on the Desktop: Finder > Preferences... General tab, check External disks to have it show on the Desktop,  Or Sidebar tab, check External disks under DEVICES.

  • MacBook Pro Doesn't Even Notice USB Flash Drive

I want to get this USB Flash Drive I have to work. It's a Memorex Mini TravelDrive 2GB. It works perfectly fine on a PC, but doesn't do anything on a Mac. I tried formatting it a couple different ways, nothing. It doesn't show up in the Disk Utility. It's like you plug it in and it acts like nothing is there. If I go to about and click System Report, nothing is listed under that USB port, whereas the other port shows my Logitech USB Mouse reciever, like it should. The other one is just blank. Like when there is nothing plugged in. And I tried both USB ports. I just don't get it. I really need to get this thing working. I mean it says it works on Mac, and I don't see why it wouldn't.

Ooops! It would appear that the purportedly v.2-compatible USBv.3 port isn't quite so. Or the flash dongle tethers on the wrong edge of the specs and is disliked by your pride & joy. Sad day.

  • Suddenly the USB ports in my Macbook Air are not detecting the connected external devices

  • Macbook Air can't connect the AP in Mac OS 10.6

    Hi.
I opened my new macbook air yesterday, and I tried to connect my private WiFi AP.
The other devices, such as two iPads, iphone 4, ipod touch 3G, and PCs, can connect to the AP, but the new one couldn't connect.
The error message was "The password is not valid."
    However, the key was correct.
I reseted my AP in several times and changed the security method (WPA and WPA2).
But these methods didn't solve the problem.
I tried to connect in the Win 7 using Bootcamp, and I can access the internet with the same AP. There is no malfunction in the WiFi hardware due to the reason.
What is the problem? I guess that the AirPort has some problems to connect.
Please let me know the solution.

Perhaps your network and keychain have gotten out of sync?
I suggest that you delete the network from Airport preferences. Then open "Keychain Access" and sarch for your wireless network name.
    Delete the resulting "keys".
    Then recreate it from scratch.
    Cheers,
    Rodney

  • New macbook air can't detect huawei 353

I had bought recently these two USB Dongles (Huawei 353 and 357 models) of Smartbro of Smart Telecom Philippines and Globe Tattoo of Globe Telecom Philippines... these two recently was active and functional when I was using it in my old MacBook Air 4,1 using OS Lion. But now when I purchased new MacBook Air 5,1 (configured to higher specs) using OS Mountain Lion plug the device with the 3.0 port of my new MBA it won't detect nor appear as icon on the screen. I already tried two dongle devices one at a time and wait to be detected but to my dismay...NO DEVICES DETECTED... Kindly help anyone... 'coz I already tried vendor software for its drivers to my new MBA but it doesn't work too... Tnx in Advance and God Bless...(",)

Hi Sir heymigs... tnx..I appreciate your experience and concern regarding my undetected USB DONGLE devices of SMART Telecom and GLOBE Telecom under my MBA 11, Mid 2012 OS X Mountain Lion. But.. still i'm hoping there will be solution on this...
Im still looking and dowloading some (software) drivers for these DEVICES- install/uninstall to my MBA 11 Mid 2012 esp. its hardware 3.0 USB port compatibility issues. To my eager, I already plug these two DONGLES DEVICES in my IMac 21.5 Mid 2011 using OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 upgraded from OS X Lion 10.7 and the result with no hassles the DEVICES were DETECTED and INSTALLED smoothly.
Hoping that this drawbacks (problems) will be given attention by the MAC people concerns...otherwise it will not be responsible or reasonable to own some gadgets with INCOMPATIBLE issues in OS X..
Appreciating all of your concerns.. tnx
