Why Negative values are entering in to fact table.

Dear All,
After Data File uploaded. The Fact table is showing Negative values.
Can any body give solution.
And in DataManager->Financial Process>FX Restatament (Is running Succussfully)
But Currency is not getting translated.
Please help.
Thanks,
Satish.

The reason the values are negative may be caused by 2 items.  The first is the default method by which BPC store information; BPC is designed to store values based on the natural sign.  So, if a Revenue account is positive in the Data File, and the Property "ACCTTYPE" is INC, the value is stored as a negative number.  When an expense value is loaded to an account with "EXP", the value is stored as a positive.  LEQ are Negative and AST are positive. (CREDITS and DEBITS storage)
BPC then uses tables and measures to report the account based on type correctly in the Excel interface. This is how  BPC is designed.
There is also the CREDITPOSITIVE = YES / NO that is part of the Data Transformation instructions, and if this is setup incorrectly, you may store the reverse signs from the data file that is loaded. So this may need to be reviewed as well.
As for the FXTranslation, I assume you have rates in the RATE cube to use in the translation process. You will need to verify that the RATETYPE property is filled in for the accounts you wish to translate? DId you process the FX script logic and the RATE script logic prior to running FX.
Hope this helps.

  • Negative values are replaced by postive values

    Dear experts,
I got an issue in a query that Negative values are replaced by postive values.... So i checked out the data in the data target i dint found negative values.... I checked out whether there are any formuales... So i checked out the data in RSA3.. I dint found any -ve values... Am having doubt that R/3 is for transactio data.. So will it changes alternately -ve and +ve....

    HI,
Make sure that in properties your Key figure in Query, +/- reverse is not check out.
TO find that->Go to your Key figure in Query->Right click-> There you will in left top corner->+/- reverse sign.
Make sure that it is not checked.
    hope i m clr.

  • BO XI Desk-I graph The negative values are rising form the lowest value up

The negative values are rising form the lowest value up. Instead of dropping from the Zero-line. Where is the problem originating?  BO FP2.3.
The positives values are also rising from the lowest value up.
The problem only occurs withing Desk-I. Within Web-I this problem does not occur.

    Hi
Try with the following symbol in the field
&ITAB-NETWR(>)&  - will write the sign  as (100.00-)
&ITAB-NETWR(<)&  - will write the sign  as (-100.00)
and based on some field  in the program write like
    If itab-shkzg = 'H'.
      itab-netwr = itab-netwe * -1.
    endif.
and try to print this field in the form.

  • SIDs are written in a Fact Table?

    Hi,
Some experts told me that SIDs are written in a fact table in extended star schema model . I am not able to understand how SIDs can be written in a fact table. As per my understing fact table contains only keyfigure and Dimids ( foreign key).
    Please explain.
    Thanks.
    Asim

    Hello!
Basically you are right. Fact table holds only DIM-ID's and key figures. But if you set a dimension to line item (line item flag in cube definition) than no dimension table is created and SID is written directly into the fact table. Therefore a line item dimension can hold only one characteristic.
    Hope that helps.
    kind regards,
    Peter

  • BUG - Create Offline View, negative values are mangled

    Studio Edition Version 10.1.3.0.4.3673
    Platform: OS/X
Create an offline view with SQL declaration
    SELECT
    (-1 * 5)
    FROM
    dual
Test Syntax result is "No errors found in SQL"
Click Next, and view has been rewritten as
    SELECT
    1 - * 5
    FROM
    dual
This behaviour prevents import of any view which contains a negative value, ie
    SELECT
    decode( sign(4-5), -6, null, 1)
    FROM
    dual
    is converted to
    SELECT
    decode( sign(4-5), 6 -, null, 1)

  • Dimension values without data in a fact table

I have an ODS system and a Data warehouse system
I have a Sales fact table in the ODS system and I have these fields:
    SALES
    ID_CUSTOMER (PK),
    ID_MODEL (PK),
    ID_TIME (PK),
    SALES,
    QUANT_ART,
    COST
Then in some records in the fields ID_Time or ID_Model or ID_Customer I don’t have values (NULL) because in the transactional systems these record don’t have values (NULL).
The users want to generate aggregate reports with the Sales table...
    The question is:
I have to put a “dummy” value in the dimensions Customer, Model and Time (for example “0”) and put this value in the fact table if the dimensions fields have NULL values????
Or I have to leave the NULL values?
What is the best choice? Why?

There's often some specific reason why these values don't exist, such as the record being a manual adjustment to sales (for example a journal voucher). In these cases it can be helpful to have a flag column to indicate this, so that when a user comes across a bunch of sales with a Store Name of "Unknown" or "Not Applicable" they can also look at the reason for this unusual entry.

  • Pulling values from Variables for my Fact Table

    Hi All,
The Load_Date in my Fact table is currently, current_timestamp-1, as the data is one day old when it is being loaded. I want to get that date from a variable because if I need to rerun with an earlier date like 20 or 30 days before the current date, I do not want to touch the mapping instead modify the variable and run the package. Please advise on how to do this?
Thanks for your time and help.

As Bhabani said, create a project variable with the code you would like to run to generate the earlier date. For example, "select current_timestamp - 30". Then, add this variable to the Package before the Interface, setting it to refresh. In the Interface, change the mapping from what it is now (current_timestamp - 1) to the variable (#VARIABLE_NAME). The variable will now be refreshed and the value added to the mapping.
If you want to change it to "current_timestamp - 20", just update the variable.

  • Error message before all values are entered in Step and Repeat box

The Step and Repeat function seems to have a problem that it didn't have before.
(1st field REPEAT COUNT, 2nd field HORIZONTAL OFFSET, 3rd field VERTICAL OFFSET). It is not permitted to duplicate beyond the limits of the document or pasteboard, I understand that. But, if a large value is already entered, let's say 3' in the 3rd field and you enter 12 in the first, you will get an error message BEFORE YOU EVEN HAVE TIME TO COMPLETE ALL THE FIELDS AND THEN SAY OK. The reason I bring this up is that it was not this way before Leopard (or before CS3) and I suspect that it is either the Mac OS or CS3 that is causing problems. I should be able to enter all the values in the 3 fields (whatever was previously entered the last time), say OK then get a message if the values go overboard. Not before I even finish entering them!
Is this a known issue, or is it just me?
    Thanks

It's a known issue with CS3 - I believe it existed in Tiger too.

  • Use ComboBox TableCellEditor  - values are not saved to the table model

    Hi,
I got a combobox cell editor that uses to edit one of the columns.
And i got an ok button that uses to collect the data from the table and save it to the db.
In case i started editing of a cell and the editor is still displayed- if i will click on the button the data that will be colected from the table model will not contained the updated value in the cell editor.
In this case the user think his changes were saved but the last updated field is not updated.
Is this a bug i got in the cell editor or this is the normal behaviour?
Can it be fixed? (So that if the cell is in the middle of editing the value that will be saved is the last value that was selected).

  • Colum Chart - (3-D) Stacked : compatible with negative values ?!

    Hi,
In our VC model we are showing a Column Chart - 3-D Stacked.
On our development server everything works fine. (the query gives positive values for the KPI's only btw)
In production the bar chart is not being displayed. The bar remains on value 0. I'm quite sure this is related to the fact that we have some negative values on production for some of our keyfigures that we need in the chart. Many others are positive. This is not compatible with stacked charts I think, but.....on our quality environment the chart works fine with negative values for the same KPI's as well. The negative values are more or less ignored in the graph on quality.
So my question is : Is it correct that negative values are officialy not compatible with VC stacked charts ? Why is it then working (ignoring the negative values) in some circumstances and other circumstances not ? The only difference between quality and production is that the KPI values are different but the same KPI's are negative anyway on these environments. The models (queries and VC model) were transported from dev->QA and to production.
    thanks for any feedback.

    Hi Todd,
Depending how you look at costs, it's not expensive.
A single developer license of Anychart 5 costs USD 499.00 - 15% if you use the APEX15 promotion code.
If you spend a couple of days trying to integrate with something else you easily went over that amount.
So really, it depends in which perspective you look at it. The workaround with Excel, is that really an option? How long would it take for every person wanting to see that screen? How long would it take before you get to $440?
Anyway if you wait till next year, Anychart 5 is included in APEX 4.0 and you have it out of the box.
    Just my thoughts,
    Dimitri

  • No BED,Cess & HS Cess values are getting stored in export Sales after J1iin

    Hi,
This is a problem which is CIN based (Country India) for Export Sales. We configured following thing –
    Excise Registration      -     1
    Excise Group     -     1 let’s say it is G1
    Series Group     -     2 let’s say they are S1 & S2
    (S1 – Domestic / Export Sale & S2 – 57 F4)
Sub Transaction Type     -     2 let’s Say ES & IP
(ES – Export Sale & IP - Import Purchase)
    Tax Procedure – TAXINN
    Maintained Proper “Defaults Condition Type”
Also maintained all default “DLFC” and also additionally maintained “DLFC” with “ES - Sub Transaction Type” for Excise Accounts per Excise Transaction
Maintained all required GL account per excise Transaction i.e
    G1 - DLFC - Co. Code -      -  All Required GL
    G1 - DLFC - Co. Code - ES -  All Required GL
Maintained Default Excise Group & Series Group
    S. Org - Dis.Ch. - Div - Sh. Pt - Plant - G1 - S1 - Export Under letter of Undertaking - ES
Pricing Procedure -     Export pricing consist containing “PR00”, BED, Cess & HS Cess (maintained in  both % & total). No account keys and statistical tick maintained except PR00 . So total 7 condition Types. Also proper condition record maintained.
Now for my Domestic sales everything is working fine. Here Both excise tables i.e J_1iexchdr & J_1iexcdtl are getting updated after J1iin for BED, Cess & HS CESS.
But in case of J1IIN of Export sale we are not able to store the values of ED, Cess & SHE Cess. Interesting thing is that these values are appearing initially while creating J1IIn through billing doc no. but as soon as we save it, only excise Invoice no is getting generated but no BED, CESS & HS Cess values are getting updated in tables.
So can anyone is having any clue why this values are not getting stored. I want these values in Excise Invoice for ARE 1 processing.
(We are using local number range for export invoice also)
    Early response needed. Thanks

    OK, no issues.
I wanted to ask u wether u are posting these excise values..?
and generally excise related condition types do not appear in Export pricing procedure as in export excise in not recoverable from the customer.
Hence even if tehy appear, tehy should eb statistical in teh export pricing procedure.
What you can do is,go to J1ID, Maintain excise indicator for customer.then Under the Excise rates, Choose Excise Tax rate.
here you can maintain, Excise rate(BED %), ECS% and AT1%(higher Ed.Cess) for the chapter id in your material.
similarly for all the chapter i'ds that you wish to make make an export for... (Remember to enter the Valid from and excise indicator)
Now, do teh j1iin again, and choose teh utilzation tab, then click on teh pencil icon and choose "Export Under bond".
If u fail to choose this option, systemw ill not allow you to carete an ARE1 for thsi excise invoice.
    Lemme know if this works.
    Regard;s

  • Input Negative values in selection screen  for select-options field

I am not able enter negative values for
    SELECT-OPTIONS V_ERFMG FOR MSEG-ERFMG.
It says negative values are not allowed but I need to check for negative values. Kindly provide me solution.

You can't put the negative values here...because the Domain which is attached to MSEG-ERFMG has not the "Sign" checkbox on.
    Try with this code:
    tables:wbrp.
    SELECT-OPTIONS V_ERFMG FOR WBRP-menge.

  • Milestone Duration in BAM indicating negative values

    Hi All,
We happen to install BAM feature of BizTalk in our current project which has turned out to be the key source of information to all our clients and stakeholders. They have been tracking all the necessary KPI's on a daily basis. So far things have been pretty
straight and smoothly running but while observing the duration of the responses on BAM (the duration is set in the activity model tracking the difference in start & end time), we happen to see negative values. We see values like -1.92 sec, -2.55 sec which
will look ridiculous to all our stakeholders. We have been trying to trace as to why such values are appearing in BAM.
To give a background, we have two application nodes and a single database connection in cluster. We have used BAM API to track the necessary fields & details. We have used Duration which is set in the BAM activity model for specific product. We
earlier felt probably both application nodes may not be in sync with respect to system timestamp, but that is not the case and in either way seems to not be related. Please let us know if anyone has faced such issue on observing negative values of duration
    on BAM portal.

The process milestone is set correctly i.e the start process one is set earlier to end process milestone . The negative values are appearing for few entries and it occurs intermittently during the day. For example if I collect around 100 entries for the
entire day for a specific activity , 3% of them will have duration set to negative values.
Like this there are around 5 activities deployed in our live environment and all of them have intermittent occurrences of negative value of time taken in the report.
This is really puzzling for us to understand how this comes up , yet we are even looking at the approaches suggested by others.

  • "None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request " error

I've got a situation where I have two facts(Fact_1, Fact_2) and three dimensions(dim_1,dim_2,dim_3) in 1 subject area. I've got dimension hierarchies setup for all the dimension tables.
Dim_1 is one to many to Fact_1
Dim_2 is one to many to Fact_2
Dim_3 is one to many to both Fact_1 and Fact_2
I've set up the content levels for the LTS for the Facts so that they are the lowest grain for dimensions they join to and the grand total grain for dimensions they do not join to.
My rpd is consistent. When I run a report using an attribute from Dim_3 and Dim_1 or Dim_3 and Dim_2, the report comes back fine.
But if I try to run a report using all three Dim tables, I get an error and the message "None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request ".
First of all, is it possible to make a report using all three dimensions?
Second, what's the best way to trouble shoot this error? Why are none of the fact tables compatible? I thought as long as the aggregation levels were set to grand total for non-shared dimensions, Answers would be able to create the report properly.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    -Joe

OBIEE is looking for a fact that can link ALL the dimensions together. This is also known as the implicit fact ... you don't have a fact that can relate all the dimensions - you have 2 facts that together they can. Perhaps you need to great a single logical fact that has both LTS for your physical facts and try it that way.
Then you'd have Dim1, Dim 2, Dim3 all being able to join to Fact1 (which is made of physical facts 1 & 2).

  • Print out of Report Region dropping negative values

I am very new to APEX (< 2 months) and don't have much of a programming background. I have created a report layout using BI publisher and made it available as a shared component in my APEX applicaiton. When I print the the report region, most of the data displays fine on the print out, but any amounts with negative values are suppressed. I can view the negative amounts just fine when they are displayed on the report region itself.
It took me quite a while to get the style sheets from BI Publisher to work with APEX. I thought the two were supposed to be compatible. Does anyone know how to resolve the issue above or if their are any known compatability issues between BI Publisher and APEX? We are on APEX version 4.2.1.00.08 and BI Publisher version 11.1.1.

This was indeed a bug. Response from Oracle:
This issue has been noted by development as a bug and I have file bug 16224878 regarding your issue. The issue explained by development pertains numeric format string which wraps the negative value in angle brackets: < val > , and the report is treating this as a HTML tag and filters it out. It looks like this is happening only for classic report regions, i.e. report queries seems to support this type of numeric format mask.
A work around would be to turn off printing for the classic report region and to provide a button to a report query for printing, using the same SQL for the report query as is used for the report region. Alternatively you could also use a different format mask.
