Why value returned by datasocket updates every one second?

I am using labview object to retrieve modbus register value using datasocket. I configure the poll rate of Modbus to 0:00001 (1ms I think). I read the labview object every 250ms in a loop and store the data into a file. After reading the file, I found that the value changes every four data. It looks as if the software only reads the modbus register once every one second. Is it the way it works or is there anything wrong with my setting?

Hi Steven,
I've modified the VI you sent to use the new DataSocket VI's, rather than the old compatibility VI's. These VI's should allow you to specify the update rate within the DataSocket URL. You would specify the update rate and deadband in the following way:
opc:\\ServerName\OPCServer\ItemName?updaterate=100&deadband=0.7

WHY do we get a %*# update every 2 weeks while the 1 really bad bug (fonts and sizes randomly changing when typing) persists????

Is there any way to STOP TB from sending updates every couple of weeks (and BTW this has slowed down/crashed TB increasingly in the past couple of months) UNTIL they fix this really irritating bug of randomly changing fonts and sizes when writing a mail? Outlook doesn't do this, Apple mail doesn't do this, so TB stop spamming and start addressing real problems for a change!!!!

It would be helpful perhaps to focus on "the real issue" of font size and compose, rather to digress into how vendors choose to deliver the product.
font issues arose in the past year. I forget exactly when. It is quite a bad problem. My recollection is it was a serializer change not done by Thunderbird developers, and that part of it was fixed in version 24. But I could be wrong.
Would you be willing to try version 31?

Why does Process 'Translate' keep crashing every 12 seconds?

Hi folks
I have an errant process called 'translate' (note: not 'translated') which appears to be part of Rosetta. It resides in usr/libexec/oah. In my case it crashes every 12 seconds (not eleven, not thirteen). I have a rather large crash log for translate (360mb). So my question is
How do I stop translate from crashing every 12 seconds? Or at all?

Today, when using the full screen mode, when I switch out of it, its automatically returning to full screen mode one second later. And ideas?

Lightroom is acting up today. If I enter the fullscreen mode to view images, when I try to exit out of it back to the library or develop mode, after one second its returning back to the full screen mode. The only way to exit is to command Q. Any ideas?

Found this on another thread. Havent tried it yet, but am about to.

You need to do it with the cursor.....
"restarted Lightroom then using the menu with cursor only (NOT THE F KEY) I went to window …. Screen mode….. and tried the various modes.. Screen Mode with Menu…..Full Screen…. then the Full Screen Preview (this is was my issue) Once in Full Screen Preview I got out of it using the escape key which worked…. Why is firefox lagging and pausing every few seconds on mac os x

I have a brand new iMac running Snow Leopard with 8GBs of RAM. I've been using Firefox 3.6 for a few days and its acting up. Every few seconds it will pause , nothing will move. For example when I'm scrolling, typing, clicking on something. A few seconds will go by until it finally will respond to my input.
I read somewhere else that if you go the the firefox profiles folder and delete sessionstore.js should solve the problem. So I quit firefox and delete that file. And it will be normal for several hour or a day. After a lot of use the same problem happens.
Please anyone, if you know what the problem could be, please help. It's super annoying.

This issue has been driving me nuts for months, ever since I upgraded from 3.* (I don't update very often). Thinking it was just a bug in the latest version, I updated all the way to the current 'latest version', with absolutely no change in this behaviour (if anything it got worse). Tried disabling all addons, it was a *bit* better but still noticeable and irritating, and besides, what use is FF without addons?
Adjusting the session save interval to once an hour (3600000) seems to have reduced or eliminated *most* of the hang-ups, making FF much more usable again! Thank you for giving me my browser back!
(FYI, FF 5.0 running on XP - told you I don't update very often! :)

Why can Firefox only be updated in ONE of TWO administrator passwords in MAC OS? It SHOULD work from either.

Every time Firefox has an available update, I get a message that indicates that it can't be installed because I have "insufficient privileges." There are two userIDs on the computer (a MAC running MAC OS 10.4.11), and both userIDs have "administrator" privileges, which means updates and other changes should be permitted from either userID. I find I have to log into the other userID and update Firefox there, and then it shows the update on my userID. Is there a way to change settings to enable updating from either userID, or at least to change which userID updates are permitted from, since my userID is the primary one used? Thanks.

Why is there a Flash update every other day?

I'm getting a little paranoid that some of these updates aren't actually from Adobe. How on earth can Flash need to be updated so often? I thought Adobe was giving up on it (I wish).

Why does my bookmarks sidebar vanish every 10 seconds? I want it displayed permanately. Very annoying.g

Since the update last week my bookmarks sidebar will not stay on. I can't believe how inconvenient this is. it's driving me crazy. I can open it with ctrl+b but it only stays there for about 10 seconds, then it's gone...please help. I simply want it to stay there all the time.

That is not standard behavior.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extension (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

TS3694 Icloud keeps asking passwords every one second...

Why is the signal dropping out every few seconds?

I have an airport express card in my iMac intel core duo. I have an airport express plugged into my stereo so I can stream iTunes. iTunes recognizes the stereo AX. There is the airport signal icon up on the top bar of the computer screen, which reads all bars solid, then all bars light grey, then all bars solid - this corresponds to dropouts on the stereo. These dropouts do not occur in the computer speakers though, so I know I'm getting the info. Where is this problem originating? The sending card, or the receiving AX? It is maddening. I have tried resetting the stereo AX by pushing the little inset button, but that didn't fix this. Is there a way to reset the card in the computer? What do I do now?

Thank you, Glenn - I changed the channel to 11 (I didn't realize there was an option for this, but a little hunting brought up the "Automatic" and 11 channels - so I set it to 11). I already was using interference robustness, and I could tell that helped a little but didn't solve the dropouts totally - and the channel change seems to have solved it. Thanks for the solution!

How to read two files (one is updating every second, the other is constant) simoltaneously

I will appreciate if somebody help me.
I want to read two files, one is temperature wich is updating every second, and the other is hysteresis energy which has specific rows and is constant.
I got a program in discussion forum which read a file as it is updating. I checked this program in my case and it works.
Then I added reading hysteresis energy file to the existing file. But while i am running the program, the hysteresis energy file is read with all rows.
But the aim is that everytime which temperature updates, I need to read just one row of the hysteresis energy file.
so, in this way in every second i have a new temperature data and one row of the other file.
I tried to used "for loop" inside the program, but it did not work, becuase reading temperature will be stopped untill for loop ends.
I attached the program.
Could somebody help me how to read just one row of hysteresis energy file everytime temperature updates?

I do not understand relationship between your two files.
You have another VI or app that is writing data to both files and when new temperature data added you wish just to read the new data and then read one new line of the hysteresis file?????
But is one is constant, why do you need to keep reading it?
Anyway…
The “Read From Spreadsheet File.vi” preformed an Open and a Close for each time it is called (if you will open the VI up and drill down and you will see). So that resets the file pointer back to the beginning and there for will read in the whole file from the first to the last each time if you do not set the start of read offset or number of rows.
Now the Read from Binary File does not reset the file pointer and leaves the file pointer just past the last byte read so it will start with any new bytes automaicly only giving you the new data.
I do not think you need to do the math with the Previous EOF=0 and the File size to get what I think you are trying to do.
Plus use shift reg for the Data string instead of local var
Set the mechinacl action of the stop botton to Latched
So you do not need to init the two controls
Also, I do not get the End of file encountered error (4) from the Read from Binary file if I attempt to read past. It just returns and empty string.

SQL Server runs update on one record, returns -1 records updated to java

I am trying to troubleshoot an issue in SQL Server. For all the databases in a specific server, the return value for java initiated update statements have completed the update (ie. I can go into SQL Server and verify the values have changed), but returned
a value of -1 records updated. I am not sure what went wrong to cause this to fail. It works on one server, but not on any databases on the other server and it suddenly changed on Friday, April 10. Here is the results of the java I am running.

Can you clarify why your Java output saying Execute Returned -- (boolean) --- false
I suspect this update never happened and it is possible to get updated row counts such as by using stored
procedure and returning @@ROWCOUNT value through return statement to the data set

Why do they dribble updates in one at a time instead of combining them into a new soft pack.

Every time I turn my computer off and then turn it back on there's a new update to download. Why aren't these updates combined into a single update instead of dribbling in one at a time. They appear to be older than my computer. I don't understand why these updates weren't included in the newer software or as a new soft pack. When I upgraded to 8.1 I would've thought any security issues would've been included.
Is there a way to get all the updates at one time rather than getting them dribbled in one at a time?

Unfortunately HP has nothing to do with this beyond their own drivers. You should contact MS customer service with your concerns.
