JDK: j2sdk1.4.0-beta3
path: path=c:\windows;c:\windows;c:\windows\command\j2sdk1.4.0-beta3\bin
Folder/directory : c:\Divelog
javac is accessed by: c:\j2sdk1.4.0-beta3\bin\javac
package: divelog
file: DiveLog.java
-public class DiveLog extends JFrame
six other files are Welcome.java, Diver.java, Dives.java, Statistics.java, Website.java,
Resources.java
-all are started with the package divelog; declaration
- all are called within a populateTabbedPane() in the DiveLog file and class.
all .java files can be seen when I enter c:\Divelog>dir
I have entered c:\Divelog>c:\j2sdk1.4.0-beta3\bin\javac -classpath \divelog/*.java
The six source files(Welcome,Diver, etc) get compiled and they appear in the directory as .class files.
However the one main file DiveLog.java does not get compiled and still appears in the directory as .java.
Why is this and how can I fix it???
I have tried creating a second folder/directory called practise and changing the package name to practise, but this result is the same.
Also, what would be the command to run this?

path=c:\windows;c:\windows;c:\windows\command\j2sdk1.4.-beta3\bin
go to the directory c:\DiveLog
and issue the command Javac DiveLog.java
This should help you get going. Mean while I'll try and figure out is there is some relation between non-compilation of Main file with the folder name in JSDK1.4
Also keep in mind that this is the developmental version of JDK (Beta) suggests the version before release. So it may have the odd bug or two
