Annoyingly small print on CNN news page in center of page with wide margins. Same with Fox News and other web sites.

I think the reason your screen looks like this is because the screen was somehow scaled differently in System Preferences. To fix this open up the System Preferences app and click on "Displays". Next click on "Scaled" and make sure it says "1280 x 800" or the top one in the list so it should look like this:
Then that's it.
If this doesn't work try restarting your MacBook Pro or resetting the SMC or PRAM.

Check that you have the correct screen resolution set: System Preferences>Displays>Display tab and makes sure you have 'Best for display' selected. (This is the route used for Mavericks 10.9.1 - I'm guessing 10.7 will be similar).

Yes. I do it using Adobe Reader for PDF files, Pages for Word files, I can copy from Safari or iCab Mobile and paste into another app. I use my finger even though I do have a stylus. I rarely use my stylus anymore, but yes it's possible.

I need help to remove the margins on the sides of web pages.

When I pull up any site, the text and images are all centered in the screen, with a solid inch or more of blank space on each side. I HATE IT! Can someone help me fix it? Thank you!

1366 x 768 Pixels is where I am. I am having the same issue with every website, including this one. The edge of my avatar (which should be on the far left) is about 1.5" from the left edge. The edge of where it says "subscribe to this page's feed", etc, is about 1.5" from the rt side. It only started when I downloaded Firefox. If I open something using Explorer, it displays just fine. The page is from rt edge to left edge. I can open Yahoo in both browsers and the Firefox side looks like a little sheet of paper laying in the middle of the screen with blank space on either side. Safari cutting off right side of web pages.

I have been using Safari on iPad to view web pages from my company's schedule bidding system. I have had no problems viewing these pages in the past, however now the right side of the web page is being cut off, I am unable to view information or use control buttons that are on the right side of the web page. I have several colleagues using safari on the iPad that are not having the problem so thinking it is a setting on my iPad and not the company website.
Any Ideas?

The Canon A630 ... (mainly because of the outstanding picture quality which you were able to show me, the variety of zoom levels, not to mention it's nearly half the cost). Although the other camera is a higher MP rating; that in itself didn't sell me on a newer model).

Currently using flash catalyst to create a website for work (seriously not a programmer but love creating visual art).
I have a SWF file that I want to run EVERYTIME a page is viewed, (its actually part of the page) but currently the file will run once. If you go back to the page it doesn’t run a second time. What am I missing here?

And thanks for the reply. I decided to make the video run continuously on the page which means when the page is viewed a second time, its still running giving the desired effect. Not the way I initially wanted it to look but it actually works in previews nicely.

I built a basic Checkbox web page. I want to add a time stamp everytime a check is made on the page. How do I do that?

Sorry, Dreamweaver is just a development tool. You wouldn't have it insert the time. Your dynamic web page would do that.
The best way would be to use AJAX, but a simpler method would be to have the checkbox trigger an event to submit the form. Then update the database with the timestamp. However, either method have the problem in that if the wrong checkbox is accidentally checked the form gets submitted. I think it would be better to use a submit button.
Of course, all of this assumes you know Javascript and PHP or another scripting language and have a database setup.

TS3408 I am unable to use Safari because the web pages fail to load or does not load graphics. I am not pleased with the current Safari and will now have to use a secondary browser.

My issues is with multiple websites. Buttons do not work, pages do not load completly or the graphics are not visible. I need to use another browser such as FIrefox or Chrome.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Why is there suddenly a one inch black margin on each side of my MB Pro?

Suddenly there is this black, one inch margin running down both sides of my view screen. How do I get out of it? It just appeared this morning when I turned my laptop on. Can't find anything in preferences that would eliminate it. tx!

Is System Preferences > Displays set to the native resolution of your display (the top one in the list)? Else, try a PRAM reset:

If sounds like you either have a missing or misconfigured browser plug-in. If you are using Safari, you should be able to disable all current plug-ins one at a time untll the error disappears. This should give you an idea on which one is the problematic one.

Basic password protection applies to directories. You place a file called .htaccess in a directory, and that file controls the password protection and other web interactions of things in that directory. This is assuming that the yahoo server supports this feature and in the standard way, vs having some special way of doing it. Your best bet is to check their own documentation...
