Wierd Problem with task switching ( cmd+tab)

I'm using shapeshifter, no way I change the theme (or use the original one), the problem is still there.
I repaired permissions and all that stuff with Onyx, same thing

I don't remember when it showed, but in any case, it's been a long time I use shapeshifter, and I don't remember having this problem.
So long, I have disabled shapeshifter, logged into a newly created account, moved non-essential fonts, cleared font cache... the problem remains.
I have made some extra few caps to explain better:
When I press cmd+tab, all open apps show on top
When selecting the first app (starting from the left), you can notice de name of the app is "slightly" shifted to the left.
This "sums" for each app, so at the third o fourth, looks like this:
If you have 7-8 open apps, the last one selected has no more the text inside the grey spot

Task switching (APPLE+TAB) between apps and spotlight window not possible

Hi, I opened a spotlight window to search for some items by pressing ALTCMDSpace and ran my search query. Then I task switched to my other app to look at some info, but when I tried to task switch back to the open Spotlight window I was unable to do so. The only way to get back to it was either to Exposé or to press ALTCMDSpace again. Not a natural flow to the way I and most other people probably work. Is this normal/a feature? I am sure it wouldn't be hard for Apple to add the hook to show the Spotlight window in the Task List (CMD+TAB)

Unfortunately, that's the way it works: You cannot Command-Tab to the Spotlight window. I see this as a design glitch, aka a "feature." As you note, it can be found using the Exposé "All Windows" (F9) function.
To let Apple know how you feel about this, I suggest you submit a Mac OS X Feedback. All Feedbacks are read and used to prioritize development investments.

Wierd problem with web start in windows 7

I have a wierd problem with my web start app in windows 7, it just hang it self. it work fine in windows XP and Vista.
The wierd thing is that i can open the app but when i press on a specific button that will make a jlabel present a .png image everthing crash. why do i get this problem now? when i start the app, i load some pic i jlabels and that seems to work fine, but when i do it under the exection it seems to crash, why?
Should i do something different to make the app work in windows 7?
I hope someone can help me out!!

You should:
a) open the console (java control panel, advanced options) and see the stackTrace (if any). If it's not there check for swallowing.
b) post a code snippet, to at least show how and where you retrieve the png. Possibly a SSCCE.
c) check if this happens also running as a standalone app (may be more Swing-related than JWS-related).

NTP Service on Domain Controller have problem with cisco switch

The windows opertion system clients get NTP time ok.
There are problem with cisco switch, can't get time from NTP.

App switching (cmd-tab) and Expose stop working

This has happened to me several times in the last couple of days: Suddenly the cmd-tab command for switching applications stops working, as well as my active corners for Expose. No matter if I use the laptop's keyboard or an external one. After a restart everything works again. Any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem. I think it may be somehow tied to the new update of itunes (9.0.1) because when I try to cmd+tab after open itunes it activates tabbing within the itunes fields.

Problems with text box borders, tabbing and saving doc in Acrobat Pro 7.1.0

When I view my form document in Acrobat Reader, there is a red border around several text boxes
in which I've selected 'NO border'
Also, I've selected 'column order' for tabbing, but tabs continue to function in order in which I inserted form item (text box, check box or radial button). Since I didn't insert these consecutively, tabs no jump all around the form instead of proceeding in order from top to bottm and left to right.
I've checked for Mac Acrobat Pro updates and see that there are three - 7.1.1, 7.1.3, and 7.1.4, and am downloading them for install.
Do any of the updates fix these problems? Or how can it be fixed?
On opening document in Reader, I also get a message informing that document cannot be saved with changes and must be printed, even though I've created it with fillable forms.
Is there some setting for allowing document to be saved?
I want to be able to have recipient be able to download form, fill it out, save changes, attach to email and return it to me.

This has been a problem since version 8 on the mac. Acrobat 7 on the mac worked fine with the right side trim but not on the PC.
We are still having this problem with Acrobat 9.4.0 on the Mac & PC.
This has now been an issue for 2 versions of Acrobat Pro.(8 & 9)
Being in Pre Press and having to constantly set the trim for jobs, this is now taking up too much time and costing money.
Please fix this Adobe.
and on another note. how hard would it be to display the trim (if set) next to where the page size is?
If the trim is set it should display it! why should we have to go to document/crop pages>trim.
Im in a busy Pre Press Dept and the amount of times you have to check a trim size is stupid.
I always set prefs to display crop / trim / and bleed boxes and this helps but it should display it if its set.

Problems with SRW224G4 switch and Bridged Network Cards

Hello,
We have recently installed a SRW224G4 switch and have discovered that when we plug our DELL PowerEdge 2900 server into the switch, the switch loses all network connectivity and all of the LED's on the switch start flashing.
The server works perfectly well plugged into another switch, but as soon as we introduce the SRW224G4 into the network, either with the server plugged into that switch or any other, the problem re-occurs.
The only way we found we could eliminate this issue was if we disabled the Bridged Network connection on the two network cards on the server. If we do that, everything is fine, except the network performance of the server has dropped significantly.
The server is plugged into the 1GB ports on the switch, although we tried it on the 100MB ports and received the same problems. The switch reports that the ports are running at full-duplex.
Has anyone noticed this behavior before, and more importantly been able to rectify it.

I had this problem as well with any Linksys 2024 or rackmountable switch.. The trick is, you need to use the network cards management software to "team" or bridged the 2 NIC's otherwise the switch detects a loop and the whole thing locks up. So lame... Windows built in bridge mode stinks dont use it. When you use the Intel management software or Dell or HP's NIc management software you have the option to actually choose "redundant mode" where you can pick a Nic to be the primary, or you can choose Load Balancing where you can essentially double your throughput by joining the 2 nics.
In Windows 2008 Server, you actually do this by going to the Properties on the NIC in Device Manger. the software controls are now built right into the driver. pretty neat. 2003 you can check Device Manager the same way but not sure if it's the same as 2008, you might need to run the actual NIC management app.

Problems with task escalation in SOA11g

I need some help with task esclation in SOA11g,
I am working on SOA 11.1.1.3.0 and weblogic 10.3,
i have a requirement where in i want a task *(that expires after a certain period) to be escalated to the user's manager and at the same time make it available in the user list of task's.*
i am able to escalate the task to the user's manager after it expires but it get's removed from the user's list of task.
is their a way in which i can do both,i mean escalate the task to the manager as well as make it avaialble for the user rather than removing the task from his list.

I considered even this option i.e to assign the task to the user and escalate it to the manager at the same time
But the problem with this is approach is that the status of the task thats assigned to the user will be ASSIGNED or REASSSIGNED and not ESCALATED.

I am having problems getting HDMI signals to come through on the receiver and TV. If the home theater system has been off for several hours, I am finding that when I use the Harmony 700 remote and select the watch TV option, the TV is displaying 'Weak or No Signal' and the receiver is displaying 'no signal.' I have to turn everything off and back on again up to six times before I can finally watch TV. I have to do the same thing if I want to watch a blu-ray movie.
When I previously had an all HDMI connection (as I do now after the Geek Squad tech changed the setup), I had this problem. I contacted my Cable company and a tech came out and informed me that beacuse of software updates on the boxes, I had to run the HDMI cable from the box direclty to the TV and then had to use red/white RCA cables for the audio. According to the cable tech, this is a standard setup among all cable companies.
I don't know what the problem is with the HDMI signal not getting to the receiver or TV from the blu-ray player, but I used to not have this issue until after the Geek Squad tech changed everything,
I'd like to identify if it's the TV or the receiver that is having problems with the HDMI switching.

The cable tech is wrong.
What kind of reciever is it? There are several recievers that have had issues with their HDMI boards that would cause this. Geek squad may just be a coincidence.

Wierd problem with Alsa

In the guide says (Which have worked untill now ???? )
If you don't have Gnome Volume Control installed,
* Edit /etc/asound.state. This file is where alsasound store your mixer settings.
* Find a line that says : 'IEC958 Playback Switch'. Near it you will find a line saying value:false. Change it to value:true
* Now find this line: 'IEC958 Playback AC97-SPSA' and change value to 0.
* Restart alsa.
BUT it keeps resetitting the last value to 3 ?? Sp what Should I do or am I doing from - following the guide exactly?

Do 'alsactl restore' instead of '/etc/init.d/alsa restart'. Doing a restart saves asound.state and then re-reads it, so it overwrites your edits straight off.
(This is from memory, I could be way off.)

Apple TV Compatibility Problem with XtremeMac Switcher

I recently purchased an Apple TV and an XtremeMac HD Switcher. My new Sony TV only has 2 HDMI ports and I have a DVD Player, Satellite receiver, and Xbox 360 and my new Apple TV all competing for the 2 HDMI ports. My problem is the Apple TV will not work when connected to my Switcher but the Apple TV works perfectly when I connect it directly to the TV. I upgraded to the new 2.0 software and I still have this problem. I contacted XtremeMac and they sounded like they had never heard of this problem before. The recommended I try different cables, switching ports, trying the Apple TV without any of the other devices connected to the Switcher, different sequences of turning the devices on and after all of this I still had the same problem. They sent me a replacement Switcher and I still have the same problem. I called Apple Support and they said they are not aware of any problems with this device and in fact there are many happy users. Apple Support suggested that I post this message on this forum in hopes someone has a solution or at least an explanation. Thanks for any and all information in advance.

I have read many satisfied reviews of the XtremeMac Switcher by Apple TV users and that is why I went with this combination. However in my search for a solution I have come across quite a few users who have the same problem. I suppose there is always the possibility that I have received 2 bad XtremeMac switchers in a row. I am going to request from XtremeMac that they send me another one. The part that confuses me is that my other HDMI devices work great in the Switcher.

With the switch to tab feature, is there a way to enable it for clicking bookmarks in the bookmarks bar?

say using the site meebo, if i receive a message and click the bookmark instead of the tab is there a way to have it open the tab already in progress instead of opening a new instance of meebo?

The switch to tab feature is only available when you are typing in the Location (a.k.a. Awesome) bar. Clicking on a bookmark will always open the bookmarked page in either the current tab or a new tab.

Wierd problem with video playback getting corrupted

I have a "week 38" iPod Touch 16 that didn't exhibit any negative black issues or other problems.
But ever since I did the 1.1.1 update I sometimes get weird psychedelic colors in the dark areas of the video playback (iTunes purchases or YouTube). A reset (holding both buttons for 10 seconds) solves the problem, but it will sometimes come back a few days later.
Anyone else seeing this?

Same thing has happened on my 38 wk model, once.
It happened first on You Tube, so I thought it was a problem with that but, when I checked some videos they were also, 'psychedelic'. Those I knew WERE fine as I had loaded them only that morning and they were beautifully crisp and clear.
I was actually, showing it to a bunch of people at the time and that was a real let down after their initial 'WOW' reactions at the device.
Fortunately, I shut down. And when I restarted, all was back to normal.
Hope it doesn't do it again!!!

Problem with tasks

since upgrade I can't add tasks to my existing task list. It keeps wanting me to create a new list which I don't want to do, and if I do it doesn't sync with my computer. Any suggestions?
