Wiki pages - who created them

Hi There,
is there a way for an admin to determine who created a Wiki page?

I know I can search by username and get all the Wiki pages listed of that user.
So there should be a possibility to do it the other way round and check which user created a Wiki page I am looking at.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your help

  • New files cannot be checked in, only visible to user who created them

    Hi,
    we're having problems with one of our document libraries in Sharepoint 2013. The library was migrated from Sharepoint 2010 in September. Other libraries work fine.
    When a file is created in that library, it ends up as checked out by the user and cannot be checked in because some properties such as the content type are not set. This means that nobody else can see the file, even users with full access.
    For word files, Word prompts for the missing properties if the file is opened and saved in Word (but not in Office Web Apps). They work fine after that. Excel does not ask for missing properties and I haven't found a way to check in Excel files yet.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Some ideas: -
    Turn off mandatory metadata on either the column level or in the content type settings
    Turn off Content type management if it's not needed
    Delete unneeded content types
    Check for content approval and deactivate if needed

  • Sharepoint 2013 Wiki Page - Links in content rewritten to relative urls

    We have an issue where on all SharePoint 2013 wiki pages any URL to items within the site containing the wiki page are rewritten to be relative URLs. This causes a huge problem when we surface these pages and a snippet of their content through a search web
    part because the links fail being relative to the wiki page itself. To further illustrated with an example.
    A site collection root page http://www.sp2013.com/default.aspx contains a search results web part returning all wiki pages in the site collection. There is a custom display template that renders
    the linked title of the wiki page and the first 500 characters of formatted text (html) of the wiki page.
    A wiki page is created in a sub site (sub1) called wiki1 (http://www.sp2013.com/sub1/pages/wiki1.aspx) the text of the page contains:
    "Check out our new library: Document Library"
    Document Library is a hyperlink to (http://www.sp2013.com/sub1/Document%20Library/Forms/AllItems.aspx)
    Upon saving the wiki page the link is reformatted to be /Document%20Library/Forms/AllItems.aspx
    From the rollup web part at http://www.sp2013.com/default.aspx the relative url in the snippet text of the display template evaluates to
    http://www.sp2013.com/Document%20Library/Forms/AllItems.aspx which does not exist.
    I have attempted modifying the source of the wiki page as well as the link in the ribbon however upon save of the changes the link is always modified to be relative. Any assistance is appreciated as this is extremely frustrating. Thank you.

    Hi JonesEJ,
    According to your description, my understanding is that SharePoint converts a absolute URL to
     a relative URL when you save the wiki pages containing the URL.
    This is actually the preferred behavior in SharePoint and on the web in general. SharePoint saves all absolute URLs for the wiki content as relative. It only does this if the URL matches the URL for the web application for that current wiki
    site.
    There is no OOB way to change the relative URL back to the absolute URL. For your issue, you can try to use
    SPSite.MakeFullUrl() to convert it back.

  • How can I allow users to view any Wiki Pages inside my enterprise wiki site collection, as PDF files

    We are working on an enterprise wiki site collection, and users start adding wiki pages and link them together. But a new requirement was raised by the customer, to allow users to be able to convert any wiki page to pdf file and save the pdf file to their
    local PCs. They are suggesting to add a link or an option inside the upper ribbon , named “Make as PDF”, and once clicked they can view the current wiki as a pdf file.
    Not sure what are the capabilities of SharePoint 2013 to do so ? and is there any third paryt tools that allow doing similar tasks ?
    Thanks

    If you want to save as PDF, could you not use a PDF printer, so the procedure would be to 'Print this page' and the user then selects their PDF printer and where they want to save the file.
    but in this way the user will have the page header footer, left navigation included in the pdf file. while i want to extract the body only. i so not think you apprach will work for my requirements

  • Creating a new library for Webpart pages, or wiki pages

    We are using sp2013 in O365, on a site collection that is using the publishing feature.
    We want to create another library for content pages where we can create either Webpart pages or Enterprise Wiki pages.  I can create a new library and add the appropriate content types so that those types of pages are options when creating a new page.
    But when I open the library and try to create a page based on the "(Enterprise Wiki Page) Basic Page" page layout (or any other page layout content type that I added to that library), the dialog comes up and shows it will save to the "/pages/"
    library (it is shown in the un-editable part of the "URL Name field"), and not in the new library where I initiated the creation request.  When I click save, I get a correlation ID error.
    Am I doing something wrong here?

    Hi ,
    I could reproduce this issue in my SharePoint 2013 Online when I created a new document library and add “Enterprise Wiki Page” content type into the library then create a page using this content type.
    It seems that publishing pages only can be created in the Pages library. And the SharePoint Publishing Infrastructure can only handle a single Pages library per Web site, it's a physical limitation of the software. If you want to create
    multiple Pages libraries, You could create sub webs to do it.
    Also, as there is a Correlation ID about this issue, you can use it to check more information about this issue. However, in SharePoint Online, we could not see the log files, they are controlled by Microsoft. I suggest you create a new thread on Office
    365, there are some backend engineers who can check the log. You will get better help with SharePoint Online.

  • Creating navigaion between wiki pages

    I have a group wiki created and I would like to create a navigation to all of the wiki pages (about 7-8). Is there some sort of "menu" option similar to wikispaces?
    Thanks

    I wouldn't recommend an iframe, but if you do decide to try that method, make sure you allow it in the whitelist, or the iframe tags will be stripped.
    Instead, you could create a custom sidebar for a theme. Look in:
    cd /Library/Application\ Support/Apple/WikiServer/Themes/
    There is a directory for each theme. You can create your own themes here, or create copies of the theme directory. For example:
    sudo cp -r float.green.banner.wikitheme/ mytheme.wikitheme
    sudo cp wireframe.wikitheme/theme.plist mytheme.wikitheme/
    Then edit the theme.plist file copied from the wireframe theme.
    1. Change the displayName from "Wireframe Theme" to "My Custom Theme".
    2. Change the name from "com.apple.wireframe" to your own unique ID.
    3. Change the "selectable" key to true (or remove the key/value pair).
    4. Uncomment the "sidebars" key/value pair. NOTE: The "Upcoming Events" sidebar dict needs a UID key/value; either add one or leave that dict commented.
    5. Save the file.
    Restart the teams server and you should have your own theme to modify at will. This theme directory is where you would add additional CSS files, JavaScript files, or even custom XSLT if you're feeling frisky.

  • How can I create a link that allows users to convert a Wiki pages into PDF format.

    I am working on an enterprise Wiki library site collection, but I want to create a link named “Convert to PDF” , which allow users to convert the current Wiki into a pdf file. I need this link to be displayed some where in all the exsiting Wikis pages, and
    on any new wiki page. Can anyone advice if there is already such as capability within sharePoint 2013.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For your requirement, we can add this link to the master page, then it will appear in the pages which apply this master page.
    To convert the current page to PDF, you can take consideration of using jsPDF.

  • Is there a way to create multiple New Tabs pages and name them?

    This feature is great but I would like to be able to create multiple new tabs pages and label them. This would be more useful than tabs groups that all load at once.

    No that is (currently) not possible.
    It will be possible in future Firefox version to specify the number of rows and columns.

  • List workflow with "Start workflow when an item is changed" will run twice when creating a new wiki page

    I have created the following workflow on the wiki page library to run when an item is changed:-
    And it will send emails as follow:-
    Currently when a user creates a new wiki page and he enters the wiki page name.
    Then he enters the content and click on save.
    Then two duplicate emails from the workflow will be sent ? So can anyone advice why creating a new wiki page will fire the workflow twice ?
    Thanks

    Hi john
    Have you see the library where the wiki pages are stored. You can see how many occurrences of the workflow has been run.
    Anyway, instead of using "wait for", can we put a condition that says, if Assign To:Approver is not empty. then email.
    i use if instead of wait and it worked well, thanks

  • Newb question: How do you create a new wiki page?

    I've found out how to make Belkin F6 series USB wireless dongles work in Arch. A wiki page would be of much help for people with these devices!
    I've written it out in the forums already:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 10#p800110
    But a more detailed page that works for similar devices would be of great benefit to some Archers.

    haha sorry. I actually did search the wiki and the forums for "new page" but it didn't occur to me to try "create page" or "creating a page". That's late-night creativity at it's finest.

  • Is it possible to create a new wiki page in wiki document library via Javascript Client Object Model?

    I can find example using managed code, but I can get it translated to javascript code that I can use.
    For example, this in managed code:
    using
    (SPSite
    site = new
    SPSite("http://sharepoint"))
      SPWeb
    rootWeb = site.RootWeb;
      SPList
    wiki = rootWeb.Lists["MyWiki"];
      SPFolder
    rootFolder = wiki.RootFolder;
      SPFile
    wikiPage = rootFolder.Files.Add(String.Format("{0}/{1}",
    rootFolder, "My
    Wiki Page.aspx"),
    SPTemplateFileType.WikiPage);
    When
    I try to change that to javascript, I get a 'cannot find rootfolder'....
    This
    is what I have so far:
    var pageName = "/digitalmerch/PageNotes/" + $('input[title="Page Name"]').val() + ".aspx";
    //Get the current client context - creating the batch
    context = SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    site = context.get_web();
    wiki = site.get_lists('PageNotes');
    rootFolder = wiki.get_rootFolder();
    wikiPage = rootFolder.get_files().AddTemplateFile(pageName), TemplateFileType.WikiPage);
    context.load(wikiPage);
      context.executeQueryAsync(CreatePage2Succeeded, CreatePage2Failed);
    But I obviously haven't translated this into javascript correctly -  the .get_rootFolder is undefined, and so the rootFolder.get_files().... is wrong as well.
    Any hints?
    Robin

    Not specifically, this is on a standard list NewForm.aspx page - it should already be there. The code is in the PreSaveAction function, so by that time sp.js should be fully loaded on the page - I don't wait for it or use a ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(xxxx,"sp.js");
    I know this is a syntax error somewhere. Also, all my objects are declared as global, so it shouldn't be anything like that..
    And I see a typo above that I've fixed:
    wikiPage = rootFolder.get_files().AddTemplateFile(pageName), TemplateFileType.WikiPage);
    is actually
    wikiPage = rootFolder.get_files().AddTemplateFile(pageName, TemplateFileType.WikiPage);
    but that didn't help. I still get:
    Object does not support get_rootFolder.
    I've also tried splitting that part into the execution functions, making sure I load 'RootFolder' into the context, but that doesn't work either.

  • Print Problem - PDF is OK on Windows 7, but OK on Windows XP with "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."

    I have received a PDF which prints fine in Windows 7 but with Windows XP I get "Acrobat Reader An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." and a blank piece of paper passes through the printer. I appreciate that Windows XP is no longer supported but I would like to think that the solution to this problem is not too difficult!
    I have tried Acrobat 9, 10 and 11.
    Any advice (apart from use Windows 7! ) would be most welcome.
    Many thanks.

    If you use the same Adobe Reader versions with the same PDF on Windows 7 and XP, then I would expect the outcome to be the same.
    Is this a local or online PDF?
    If local, is the file really exactly the same?
    If online, in what browser?

  • How to customize / edit wiki theme in content_entry.xsl file to display tags for blog pages and not wiki pages?

    I am trying to customize a wiki theme by displaying the "Edited Today at… by…" for only blog pages and not wiki pages.
    I tried editing the content_entry.xsl with an xsl if tag, but failed.
    <xsl:if test="context/link='/groups/groupname/weblog/'">
      <div id="entry_date" class="entry_date">

        <span id="history_time_author"><xsl:value-of select="historyTimeAuthor" disable-output-escaping="yes"/></span>
      </div>
    </xsl:if>
    What is the correct <xsl:if test=""> tag, that would execute this?
    For <xsl:if test="context/"> I believe the content after "context/" are variables like link, baseHREF, contentEntry.  What are other variables I can use?

    I also tried it this way, but does not seem to work.
      <xsl:if test="context/link='/groups/groupname/weblog/'">
            <xsl:template match="context/entryMeta">
