Will an Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Upgrade license work to upgrade an Adobe Acrobat XI Standard installation?

The buying guide for the XI Pro Upgrade (here - Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro) does not list Adobe XI Standard in the left hand column... but I currently have XI Standard and want to to go XI Pro, will this work?

Hi Mike ,
There is no such policy to upgrade license from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro.
If you have the subscription for the Standard version ,you need to get that cancelled and get a new subscription for Acrobat Pro.
If you have the retail version or if you have purchased the software ,you can return that and get a new retail version for Acrobat XI Pro.
For more information ,please contact the technical support.

I have the key for both. All is legal, however, for some crazy reason Adobe does not allow download of previous versions of its products.
I need a link to download or a copy of ISO if anyone has it.
    Thank you,
Please send response to [email protected]

Have I contacted Adobe Customer Service and not made available to me at LWS. I own volume license, but I'm not .ISO or DVD for installation.

    Prakash,
Since I couldn't get a hold of someone at Adobe today, Sunday, would you please let me know about the following:
    1)  My laptop has "blue screen of death".  What can Adobe do for me if I restored my system back to when I first bought it from the store and potentially lose my Adobe X?
    2) I bought my Adobe X on Jan. 10, 2010 thru Barnes & Noble Campus E store thru JourneyEd.

Clicking "Download now" on the "Download a free trial of Acrobat X Pro" is not working. Any help?  I even opened an account and logged in and it still did not work.

What?  I don't understand if you are asking me a question or telling me what to do.  I am using IE9 and when I clicked the "Download now" button, a new tab did not open or anything like that nor did another window open.

  • Acrobat X Pro suddently stops working

Periodically Acrobat X Pro just stops working; it won't open, either by trying to launch the program directly or opening a PDF. If I remove/reinstall it, it works fine for about a month, then stops again. I can't connect its failure to anything else (e.g., system updates) and it's frustrating. I'm running it on Windows7. I have CS6 and don't have this issue with any of the other programs. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

    Hi Dana ,
Is there any error message associated with the launch or it simply doesn't launch?
Does this happen with any specific PDF you try to launch ?
Or what you can do is go to Task Manager. Ctrl + Alt + Del and select Start Task Manager. Go to Processes. Sort by Names. Do you see Acrobat.exe on the list? If yes, please select it and click End Process. Then try to run Acrobat Pro.

    Hello,
you could adapt the answer from there Re: Change language in Acrobat XI Pro - It does not work
... and if your Acrobat XI Pro is a part of CC you could work according to this scheme Adjust the install language | CCM >>> I quote: The language for the Creative Cloud applications is different from what you expect.

  • Installing Existing Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on new computer - The "Upgrade Check"

I recently purchased a new computer (Windows 8) to replace my old computer (Windows XP).  I had purchased and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 on the old computer in September 2009.  At that time I had the serial number of the previous edition of Adobe Acrobat to load into the Upgrade Check screen when installing Acrobat 9.  I just deactivated the Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 from the Windows XP machine and downloaded it to the Windows 8 machine and the install went well (still had the serial numbers for the Acrobat 9), until after the reboot when the "Upgrade Check" screen popped up.  I don't have the slightest clue what the serial number for the previous version of Acrobat was, I don't even recall what version of Acrobat I had.  How can I continue to install my Acrobat Pro 9?  I have been using it successfully for three plus years!
    Thanks.

If you no longer have the AA7 information, you will have to contact Adobe to determine the software key you had before to allow the installation. Hopefully you had registered your previous product or at least the installation.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro e-license issue

    Hello,
I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro installed in a PC running Windows 7 (64 bit). Whenever I try to download the e-license it gives me the following error message:
I already tried disabling the firewall but it didn't work, I'm not connected to any proxy server by the way. I would highly appreciate any help, thank you.

I am not sure what you mean by an e-license. Normally you would have a S/N to enter or log into Adobe with your ID to activate (though not for AA 8 as I recall). Simply install and enter the S/N that you should have for the product. After the install, it is critical that you do the updates for Acrobat to properly work. If you can not get them through the help menu, the updates are available at Index of ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/ .

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended - Signature Issue after upgrade

I have updated to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended from Acrobat 7 Standard. I have several pdf files that I have signed and secured. These files have been set to not allow clients to remove or alter various pages. I did not save a copy without the signature or security settings. I have not been able to get back into 7 Standard to try and retrieve the signature. I do have a complete backup of the program files. Can anyone tell me how I might be able to retrieve the signature (or signature files) from Standard 7 and place it in 9 Pro Extended? I am using the same computer and as mentioned above I have a complete backup of 7 standard program files prior to the update. I would like to be able to remove the signature and alter the security settings in Pro 9 Extended.

  • Licensing for Acrobat 9 Pro has quit working  - How to fix this

I just subscribed to the Photography plan that gives me access to Photoshop CC and Lightroom 5.  I already own Design Creative Suite CS3 and Adobe Acrobat Pro (9).  When I downloaded the application manager and began to download PS & LR it showed all applications and most listed as the option "Try" and on Acrobat XI Pro it indicated "Up To Date."  Once I downloaded and installed the PS & LR applications I tried to open a .pdf to do some research.  I got the following message as Acrobat Pro tried to open:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the
problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or
contacting your IT adminstrator or Adobe customer support
    for help.
I uninstalled Acrobat XI and Acrobat 9 from my computer, restarted it, then re-installed Acrobat Pro 9 from the CS3 installation disk.  When done I tried to open a .pdf and got the same message.  I restarted the computer and tried again and got the same message.  I then did a Verify Permissions & Repair Permissions and Checked the Disc.  (BTW this is all on a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 o/s.  I have the 10.8 Mountain Lion o/s disk on the way, so I can't install/use LR 5 until that is done.  anyway...)
Since it is Sunday and there is NO Adobe Customer Support and there is no IT department in my house, what do you think I should do?  As an aside, the initial download/install for Photoshop CC hung at 44% installed.  I did online chat with Bhartha at Adobe and he managed to do nothing but make my system worse.  So I got away from him and repaired the damage he caused when I did the "screen share" operation with him.  IM not so HO, Adobe's support system, what's the technical term?, SUCKS.  If I had any good options to Photoshop and Lightroom I would use them, but for now I'd be stuck with something worse, like GIMP and Aperture.  Okay, that's my rant about the sub-standard approach Adobe has to support.  Apparently they feel that once you have their product then you're stuck with it and if they give you crappy service, so what?  I hopefully await the day when Adobe gets bought and ruined by Microsoft.  Like the old days when the phone company was one big corporation.  Their motto:  We Don't Care.  We Don't Have To.  Adobe seems to have adopted that idea.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem

Everything was fine until I downloaded & installed PS CC.  I had a copy of Acrobat 9 I had purchased.  There was also a folder for AA XI I had previously downloaded as a Cloud member, but had cancelled that and did not use AA XI.  Everything in CS worked fine for the last 2-3 years, until this download.  As I stated, the download "hung" on install the first time at 44% install & I contacted Adobe via the chat line.  Why a download of Photoshop CC would wreak havoc on my functional Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (or XI Pro, for that matter), is something they couldn't explain, and they couldn't fix.  They provided no help whatsoever...in point of fact the tech guy didn't actually seem to know how to navigate on a Mac.  First thing he did, using the "Screen Share" process, was open the Parallels partition and boot Windows.  And since this problem had nothing to do with my Windows/Parallel partition it was clear he didn't have a clue.   Everything he did after that just confirmed his ineptitude, right up until I turned the computer off to get rid of him.
At any rate, I used the step-by-step procedures delineated in 3 other forum discussion threads which all said do the same thing.  I did.  It did not help.  Of course I will call Adobe tomorrow and I'm sure they will not have any solution either.  Which is why I unsubscribed to the Cloud account.  Every time they had updates for any application the installs would fail and then the previously installed programs wouldn't work and I would have to uninstall & reinstall EVERYTHING.  That was their solution.  The brilliant minds of Adobe Tech Support in action.  "Did you try powering if off and then back on...?"
At risk of being seen as a person with an actual opinion based on experience, I will say that ADOBE TECH PERSONNEL ARE MORONS.  Of course they're in Kuala Lumpur or some other seemingly exotic place (unless, of course, that's where you are, in which case Des Moines, Iowa seems exotic), so maybe they don't get very good training on the products they are supposed to support.  Adobe doesn't care about good support.  They already have your money and they pretty much have a monopoly on a few of their niches (Photoshop, Lightroom).  Any place you can find another manufacturer's product that competes with Adobe, for example Corell's Painter vs.  Adobe Illustrator, the other manufacturer's product is ALWAYS BETTER.  ALWAYS.  So I am stuck with Adobe products due to occupational need, and stuck with their sub-standard support.  Whether by design or omission, ADOBE DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCTS.  In point of fact, I DESPISE these clowns.  I just am forced to deal with them against my desires and better judgment.  Probably why homicide is illegal.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Sudden license issue prevent use

When trying to open a pdf document in Acrobat 9 Pro, I get to open it, but after a few seconds a window pops up, titled: “Licensing for this product has stopped working.”
The message reads: “You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
    (148:3)”
It is not possible for me to reinstall. My Acrobat 9 Pro started as Acrobat 5 many years ago, and since I have downloaded all version upgrades. I don’t have all the version upgrades anymore, hence I contact you. How to fix?

    Ravi and Virtualmonk1,
    Thanks for your responses.
The licensing repair tool kit worked very well, although when running it, no indication was given that it had performed its job, like "completed", "updated" or similar, which was a little confusing.
My Avira Antivirus indicated no trojans. However, I have experienced several times that various antivirus software give false warnings, because they find some elements of teh software to resemble some trojan behaviour.

  • I have Acrobat 9 Pro and read I can upgrade to XI pro for $199.00. How do I do that?

How do I purchase and download Adobe Acrobat XI update. I have 9 now.

Sorry about the problems. It has been an issue that several MVP folks have addressed to Adobe and the solution we had seems to even have been removed. Yet we keep being told that both the full version and upgrades are available. All I can suggest it to contact Adobe directly since they keep saying both are available and even the upgrades are listed under Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but no link is provided any place that I can find for the upgrade. I have submitted comments and can only hope the order issue will be fixed.
