Will Paging help in eliminating pending messages
hi
i am working on WLS 8.1 and I know that the traffic is very large as compared to the number of servers we have. I see a lot of messages in pending queue and sometime the queue size increases or sometimes it decrease
I have a question and i am not able to answer it . I need some help. if I configure paging on the JMS servers, willl that help in eliminating pend queue messages. i appreciate if somebody can put some light on this
thanks
Hi,
A growing backlog of queue messages usually simply means that senders are producing messages faster than consumers can consume them. Well running non-batch style applications typically avoid backlogs that grow significantly over time.
I recommend reading the "WebLogic JMS Performance Guide" white-paper on dev2dev. It was specifically written for 8.1 and provides a variety of advice on how to speedup message processing.
Paging, by the way, would likely only slow down message processing.
Hope this helps,
Tom

My iPad receives email on the hotel wifi but will not send. The error message reads "user name or password for smpt......is incorrect" but both are correct and unchanged. Restarting iPad did not help.
I did try this too, but when I access my webmail on the iPad, the iPad doesn't allow me to type my message. I am able to enter in the "to" address and the "subject" line, but then the keyboard will not come up for me to type my message. Is there some trick to this? Very frustrating!

All my data on my phone got deleted so I restored it through Itunes and now my IMessage will not recieve nor send out messages through my phone number but my email. I've tried alot but non is really working, help please !!
Ok. You don't have to select your number. Just check your email under your "grey" number and then at the bottom of this page you will see the option "Start new conversations from". Select your number.

A song will not play.
I have received message: could not be used because the original file could not be found.
Will appreciate help on how to retrieve it.You will need to go into your Files and locate the song. By default, iTunes saves songs in the iTunes Media Folder which can be found in the following locations:
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
If you locate your song file, when you try to play it in iTunes, you will be given an option to locate. Navigate to the file in the pop up window and iTunes will re-path the file location.
Most people encounter this issue when moving to a new computer or if you have your music saved on an external drive or folder that you have since moved or removed. The imperative part is finding the song so you can re-map it. -

JMS messages stuck as Pending messages
Hi.
I am trying to write an application to process huge amounts of data. I try to
process around 1,000, 000 messages [java objects] using a single queue and 8 MDB.
The strange thing is that in the end there are always 10 messages stuck in the
pending message category.
I can also observe that a weblogic thread is stuck. [can see it in the console]
The stuck thread current description is something like "Connectio27.Session28".
I have tried to use the QueueConnectionFactory from a EJB using resource reference
instead of fetching it directly. Even this has not helped. I guess the problem
is that while loading the messages onto the queues, one of the threads gets stuck
somewhere.
I am sing MDB's for processing. There doesnot seem to be any problems on the MDB
side.
If I reboot the server the 10 messages get processed successfully.
Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

if you waited for a minute or so between each threaddump, it definitly
sounds like an issue around the database query not returning or there is too
much data being returned.

Messages moving to Pending message state
Hi
Using: Weblogic 7.0 with SP2
1. We have an Application server communicating with a JMS Hub that has a two server
cluster. This server has an MDB configured dually - one MDB definition listening
to each of the two physical queues of a virtual queue.
2. A client writes a message to the virtual queue (causing it to be picked up
by one of the physical queues). The client exits. I verify that the message actually
lands up in one of the physical queues using console.
3. I start the App server, and immediately the message moves to 'Messages Pending'
column.
4. The onMessage() of my MDB does not get called at all - I have a log in the
first line of onMessage() that I do not see.
5. Any further attempt by the client to put messages into the queue causes it
to move over to the pending message state as long as the app server is up.
Any ideas? Thanks bunch in advance.
Here are the relevant ejb-jar and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml snippets:
ejb-jar.xml:
<message-driven>
<ejb-name>AcqPoolClosingResponseMDB</ejb-name>
<ejb-class>com.fanniemae.core.sec.packetization.acq.ejb.AcqPoolClosingResponseMDB</ejb-class>
<transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
<acknowledge-mode>Auto-acknowledge</acknowledge-mode>
<message-driven-destination>
<destination-type>javax.jms.Queue</destination-type>
</message-driven-destination>
</message-driven>
<container-transaction>
<method>
<ejb-name>AcqValidationResponseMDB.OOPSResponseQueue</ejb-name>
<method-name>*</method-name>
</method>
<trans-attribute>NotSupported</trans-attribute>
</container-transaction>
weblogic-ejbjar.xml:
<weblogic-enterprise-bean>
<ejb-name>AcqPoolClosingResponseMDB.LoanSetupQueue</ejb-name>
<message-driven-descriptor>
<pool>
<max-beans-in-free-pool>10</max-beans-in-free-pool>
<initial-beans-in-free-pool>1</initial-beans-in-free-pool>
</pool>
<destination-jndi-name>LoanSetupQueue@SecJmsHub-jms04-1</destination-jndi-name>
<initial-context-factory>weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory</initial-context-factory>
<provider-url>t3://dcore-ap04:7159</provider-url>
</message-driven-descriptor>
<jndi-name>ejb/AcqPoolClosingResponseMDB</jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
Hi Srikant,
I'm somewhat familiar with "core". The "ejb-class" gives
you away. :-) I'm not sure what the problem is, but here
are some things you can try:
Item number one. The conflicting
descriptor combo of "container" managed transaction and
"not-supported" may be the issue. For container
managed transactions in an MDB, I think the assembly-descriptor
for the onMessage method should be set to "Required" in
addition to setting the transaction type to "Container":
<container-transaction>
<method>
<ejb-name>......</ejb-name>
<method-name>onMessage()</method-name>
</method>
<trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute>
</container-transaction>
If you don't want container managed transactions, do not
specify a "transaction-type" of "Container".
Item number two. The ejb-name field in container-transaction
does not match the the ejb-name field in message-driven.
Furthermore, with container managed transactions
the acknowledge-mode is ignored so it need not be set.
Item number three. It is possible that your MDB app
is throwing a runtime exception before it hits your
onMessage trace statement. This would cause the MDB container
to roll-back the tx. The message will then remain
in a pending state if it is immediately redelivered
or if there is a redelivery delay configured.
Hope this helps,
Tom, BEA

Redirector pending messages that won't send
Blackberry 9630
Desktop Manager 4.7
MS Outlook 2003
Win XP Pro
This new Blackberry install will not work with the Redirector. During the install, I selected to have the Blackberry sync emails using the redirector (corporate email). The email settings in the desktop manager are set to sync and direct to "Desktop" on the Blackberry. However, all the emails stay qued up in the Pending Messages and they never get received by the device...What is the status in Desktop Redirector? Does the number of pending messages continue to increase? Check out this KB article on Desktop Redirector Status field errors. http://bbry.lv/afyhrd

After iTunes requested that I download latest version on PC it now will not open. 2 error messages appear. first: The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. second: iTunes was not installed correctly please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126). I have tried reinstalling a number of times and restarting computer but no luck.
This happened to me today as well post installing the latest version of itunes. I did a search on google for the error and came across a recommendation to :
Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the msvcr80.dll error.
If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)
Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
Download the latest version of iTunes from Appleand note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation. -

Help...my Messages doesn't work. When I click on the Messages button, my phone thinks for a minute and then goes back to the main screne. Any suggestions of how to fix this?
Try a reset: Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for ten seconds until the Apple logo appears. Note: No data will be lost

"It is formatted incorrectly, or is not a format that iBooks can open". Can anyone help me with this message of a book that I purchased on iBooks, read, highlighted in the book and now I can't open it anymore. Please help!!!
Mine does the same thing occasionally, is your phone jailbroken? Sometimes it will work if you delete the book and reinstall it or put your phone into airplane mode then turn it back off.

How to find the number of pending messages in a Queue
All,
Is there a way to find the number of pending messages in a given QUEUE to be picked by the queue reader?
My reader is not picking all the messages as many sent by my writer, i am not sure where they are getting lost? or if the JMS implementation is buffering them and does not flush until it does not have enough to throw out ( which any way does not make sense!!).
Please help.
ChandraYou're right in thinking that the behaviour you describe looks wrong.
Take a look at the QueueBrowser interface which can be used to inspect a queue. You get one using QueueSession.createBrowser(Queue). The QueueBrowser allows you to scan a queue without consuming the messages. However note that the state of the queue may change while you're observing it through the QueueBrowser so what you see might not always be a 100% accurate representation of the queue at any given time.
Other things to check:
- message selectors - are you setting a message selector on your queue receiver which is resulting in not all of the messages 'matching'.
- expired messages - are you setting a time-to-live on the messages that you publish.
Hope this helps,
David Ingham

downloaded acrobat reader 11 onto my Mac Book Pro, it can open the file but will not print. Get a message that says PDF cannot be printed, however, I forwarded it to someone else and they could print it, no problem. I called HP and spent an 1hour with them and then called Apple support and worked with them for 3 hours. No one can figure it out. Is there something wrong with this version? the pdf was created in 2004. Do I have to pay to get Acrobat?
Let me give you a slightly different perspective than everyone else here. You are using an unsecured wireless network, which means that all your network traffic is easily available for viewing by anyone else using that network. That's bad. Very bad, for you, unless you absolutely trust everyone who lives within range of this network. So stop doing it.
As to the Mac not connecting, wireless networking is simply too complex for any reasonable answer without more information. There are many possible error points, and as often as not it's the Mac that can connect and the Windows PC that cannot. Since you can't give us any information about the configuration of the neighbor's network, and can't make any changes to it, we can't do much to help you troubleshoot it.
