Will the sessions cross?

Hi, my coworker is working on a project using Cold Fusion. she is experiencing a problem about session management. Some users after entering their correct user login and password, find thenselves logged in as someone else, looked like users were sharing the sessions. We read some discussion from the Cold Fusion fourm and found out that it's a known issue in CF, so CF really sucks. Now I am wondering if it will happen to Java (JSP/Serlvet) too. Did anyone see this happen to Java? Thanks in advance.

At this point we haven't been able to find a solution. We can only recommend that people avoid doing this when using our product.
Something like this needs to be handled on the client side.
I haven't tested this (just occurred to me while typing this ;) ) but there is a javascript command (window.opener) that should allow you to access the browser window that opened the current window.
For example:<scipt language="JavaScript1.2">
window.opener.document
</script>and since IE is mostly based on HTML (or their own version of this. Perhaps you can do a check to see if this value is null? If it is null then there is no parent window thus the session belongs to the current window, otherwise another is open (the parent to this window) which means your sharing the session.
I'll give it a test run and see if it works.

We are getting the following error when running our SSIS packages on Microsoft SQL Server 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1:
Error: 4014, Severity:20, State: 11. A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 109, output error: 0)
SQL Server Data Tools and SQL Server Database Engine reside on the same server.
We tried the following:
Disabling TCP Chimney Offload
Installed Windows Server 2008 SP1
Splitting our SSIS code into multiple steps so it is not all one large continuous operation
The error occurs during a BulkDataLoad task.
Other options we are investigating with the engineering team (out-sourced, so delayed responses):
Firewall configurations (everything is local, so this should not make a difference)
Disabling the anti-virus scanner
Are there other things we can try?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Based on the current information, the issue can be caused by many reasons. Please refer to the following tips:
Install the latest hotfix based on your SQL Server version. Ps: there is no SQL Server 2012 R2 version.
Change the MaxConcurrentExecutables property from -1 to another one based on the MAXDOP. For example, 8.
Set "RetainSameConnection" Property to FALSE on the all the connection managers.

Where i will give the date and time of the session background process

Hi.
I created a program on XD01 by using Session Method.
It is executed properly and process in forground also fine.
What my problem is i want execute process of session in Back ground on that time i want give the Date and Time. I do not know where i will provide date and Time.
I want Process the BDC Session after 2 days. How it is possbile. Where i will give the date and Time?
With in these 2 days i want know the status of the Session Process. How i will check the status?
Any body will explain these things with full flow of sequence.
I do not want use the BDC Session by using RSBDCSUB. In that program there is no options for giving the Date and Time.

Hi,
While creating session through BDC_OPEN_GROUP function, populate HOLDDATE field to set lock on the created session till that date, say 31.12.2008 and you would like to execute your session on 1.1.2009 at 2:00 AM.
Once session is created, create a batch job for program RSBDCSUB and schedule it on 1.1.2009 at 2:00 AM (server time).
I am confident that it solves your problem.

Will the resource of 'SNIPED, KILLED' sessions be released?

Hi Guys,
I have a couple of questions regard to session status and the limit of session numbers which is set in parameter SESSIONS.
1) these are the Status of the session:
ACTIVE - Session currently executing SQL
INACTIVE
KILLED - Session marked to be killed
CACHED - Session temporarily cached for use by Oracle*XA
SNIPED - Session inactive, waiting on the clientMy question is, are the resource consumed by the sessions which are in 'SNIPED', 'KILLED' released?
what about 'INACTIVE'?
2) there is a parameter called 'SESSIONS' which is used to set the limit of session numbers.
So, my question is, the sessions in which status, will be counted into the total number of sessions, which in turn, will be compared against parameter SESSIONS?
any input will be highly appreciated.

How to Sync the session timeout of Portal with CMS Server

Hi Experts,
We have a custom application build on our portal which will launch the reports of InfoView. It works fine untill the portal session timeout. Whenever the session timeout occurs and reloads it I am unable to launch the reports and getting the below exception.
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$OCAFramework: Unable to reconnect to the CMS server_ip:6400. The session has been logged off or has expired. (FWM 01002)
Portal is configured with SSO. Please adviese how to set the settings of session timeout in such way that Portal sync session timeout with CMS server.

There is no such option to sync Portal timout with CMS server.
To resolve your problem you have only option to set your CMS server timout to MAX value.

I have an itunes acct. on my PC, but itunes doesn't allow me on using that acct. info. When I try to set up a new id on my ipad it says the session has timed out.

I have an itunes account on my PC and have downloaded Kindle and iBook with no problem, but when I try and use that acct id on my iPad the system says I cannot access the store. However, when I try to create a new id the system comes up and tells me that I am from Canada, which is always nice to know in case I ever forget, and when I acknowledge that screen, it immediately tells me the session has timed out. What am I doing wrong? Willingly admit I am not at all knowledgable in the Apple world. Thanks for any help you can give..

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2. It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store. As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card. After that, downloads proceeded as before.

Over the last few days (since i updated to the newest version of firefox) i've been having problems. I usually keep open quite a few tabs that are invaluable to me that I need, they contain vital information i've been needing for research and I can't afford to keep losing them!. I'm used to exiting firefox when i turn off my computer and them saving for my next session when I open firefox back up. For some reason now, if i turn off my computer, when i turn on again and go into firefox to restore my previous session. it will restore the session prior to my previous session but not my previous session.
My default setting was to resume the Firefox session from where it was when I last exited Firefox that I set. The settings are all the same as they was before I updated firefox and I had this problem, so it is set to remember my history. I'm really not that tech savvy so i really don't know if it was teh update that caused it but it seems around the same time. Also, every single time. it sets my home page to firefox (it is usually google)) it will only remain google if i change it back and remain for the day until i restart my computer.
I'd be most grateful to any hint that might solve this problem. Thank you for your attention. I really appreciate the input! thanks everyone in advance!

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

How to stop a pop up window if the session expires

I have a situation wherein i have my jsp page. in that i have a button on clicking it a pop up window will open to take a input parameter.
Now what we want is that if the session is not valid than the pop up shud not open.
Currrently what is happening wen the session is not valid the popup gets open and in that popup a login page is coming.
The logic for pop has been put in a javascript code which gets executed when the page was first loaded . So even if i put a logic for checking the session before the popup opens it wont work. So what can be a possible way i can do it?
I am writing a scriptlet to check the logic for valid session.

The code is working fine and blocking the popup. But I am not sure if this will be a correct fix.

Server 2012 R2 RDS- Only want the Session Host, Connection Broker and Licensing Server!

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has experience with implementing Remote Desktop Services (RDS) on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I am doing an RDS design for a platform where we only need an RDS Session Host, Licensing Server and Connection Broker. We do not need web access as these servers will simply be jump boxes internally!
However, implementing this correctly in our test environment has proved to be tricky. The options are:
Use the Server Manager and do a traditional install via Roles and Features ( specifically add the Session Host, Licensing Server and Connection Broker). The installation process seems to go through ok in this scenario but when I head over to the Remote
Desktop Services section of the Server Manager I simply get the message 'An RDS Deployment does not exist in the server pool. To create a deployment head to Roles and Features'.
Use the specific ‘Remote Desktop Services installation’ option on the Server Manager and do a Session Based Desktop deployment and Quick Start. This installation process seems to go through correctly and the Remote Desktop Section seems to be working
correctly via the Server Manager. However this process is ‘hard locked’ i.e. it installs the session host, web access and connection broker. I can then remove the web access component later from Roles/ Features.
Is there a best practice (if any) for installation? i.e. Will there be any issues down the line if I remove RDS Web Access from my server while following method 2?
There is a complete lack of documentation from Microsoft here so not sure what to do! Just need a basic RDS session based deployment.

As I know from server 2012\R2 the best deployment skill is to perform via “Remote Desktop Services” installation mode with Standard deployment and don’t let single role to install. Because when we install through RDS mode, there are specific extra tools and
services activated along with that deployment which you can’t find with single role installation. And that is for sure, when we install RDS role as of this, by default we will get install RDCB, RDSH and RDWA role installed.
Sorry don’t have any option to try to remove that role as that role basically needed for RemoteApp and Desktop purpose. But if you want then you can try it with help of “Remove-RDServer”Powershell command.

How do I remove the small cross that is in the centre of a shape (when viewing the outline)?

How do I remove Shape cross hair from the middle of a shape please. I am using Illustrator CS3. I am making an image to cut out using a Cad Cutter so i am using the VIEW OUTLINES OPTION. I have used cirles in my compostion and when I view the outlines there is a tiny tiny cross in the centre of the shapes? I am unable to remove these and if i leave them on, then the printer will cut a cross in it's place which is what I don't want.
Please can someone tell me how to remove the cross hairs, not from Normal view becuase they aren;t there but from the OUTLINE View.

POP + javascript :doesn't save to the session

I have a select list and a popup. I'm trying to assign the value to the POP item using javascript but it's not working.

The LOV defined in POP is static and has one line.
the interesting caveat:
in IE 7 the validation fails. in FF3 the field has "undefined" string and apparently this doesn't' fire up the validation. At the same time it should be "manually set"....
Maybe i should use some other property of the POP DOM object to actually set the value ?

First, I’m sorry I didn’t have time to check your example sooner. It happens sometimes, you know your day job … :)
Secondly, your popup problem, not saving session state, has nothing to do with Oracle or APEX. It’s actually HTML.
The type of popup item you chose to use sets the item to a disabled state – you can see that the content of the field is gray. Disabled items don’t get to be submitted to the server – this is the HTML part - hence session state can’t be saved – directly – using this item. That is the reason for the other item, the hidden one. This is a regular item, which gets to be submitted, and the APEX engine takes its value and set it as the session state of the original popup item. In your case, your JavaScript code only updated the disabled item, so the session state source remained empty.
