Will the T2000 platform run an ldom version that vDC creation supports?

Will the T2000 firmware, support a version of LDOM hypervisor that can be used to demonstrate vDC setup and creation?
If so, what is the latest ldom version that need to be run, as I am seeing some examples of T2000 in some of the blogs that talk
about vDC's.

Yes it's MS Windows! You will need a license of MS Windows (preferable Windows 7) and from there you can decide on the strategy for running Windows on your iMac. You can use Boot Camp (you already have this) or you use virtualization software such as Parallels or Fusion. For your situation I'd recommend virtualization software. However for only one program I'd do some due diligence to see if there is a OS X version. You can start with the App store or simply use Google to search.

No idea if Windows will do it, but you can run Windows without Bootcamp & have OSX available at the same time, which should give you all the Monitors that OSX uses.

Will the store accept a Japanese language version of an iBook that is also in the store in English? Each with its own ISBN?

I have never heard of anyone having a problem with that.  But note that Japanese books must be in epub3 format and thus cannot be produced by iBooks Author, in case that was your plan.

No, because what you're calling version 080122 is actually version 11.4.0, which is part of Office 2004.

I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode.  If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues.
I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion. I now want to fix the underlying problem.
I'm not running any weird background processes and in my energy saver settings I've tagged "put the hard disk to sleep when possible:, "allow power button to put computer to sleep" and "automatically reduce brigthness". All pretty standard.
Is there anyone who can give me some pointers ?

Today I solved the same problem for my iMac running Snow Leopard. See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3008791#15947706. The method may help you, too.
For me it was the DynDNS Updater preventing my iMac from automatically entering sleep mode.
To my knowledge the cause of this sleep problem can only be a peripheral device or a process. So I suggest to first unplug all peripherals and test whether that's the cause. If not, I suggest to terminate one process after another and to test automatic entering of sleep mode after each. Start with user processes; continue with system process if necessary.
At least that's the way I found the offending process. Fortunately, I was able to change the configuration of that process to allow again automatic entering of sleep mode.
    Good luck!

  • Xcode is running from a volume that does not support ownership. Please move Xcode to one that does.

I have Problem,  I can't install Xcode 6.1 on my iMac due "Xcode is running from a volume that does not support ownership. Please move Xcode to one that does."
I have two HD partition, First one I use for my Lion OS, and the second I just installed Yosemite since Xcode 6.1 need OS upper than lion.
    Here's my HD Info.
    Mac HD : Yosemite
    Machintosh HD: Lion
I do try to uncheck and check when I install Xcode. Maybe I don't know where should I put Xcode.dmg when I want to install.
    Thank you. Sorry bad english.

Run Disk Utility select the volume you are installing Xcode on and look at the bottom of the screen and make sure Owners Enabled: says yes.
Also make sure there are no other versions of Xcode anywhere on your system. If there are delete them all and then do a fresh download and install of Xcode, BTW why are you nor installing from the Mac App Store, where did you get the dmg from?
post back if that does not resolve the issue.

  • When will the DIrectory Server run on Linux?

Does anyone know when the DS software (and more specifically the admin server) will actually run on recent versions of Linux?
The version of RHE it runs on is ancient...
Is this typical Sun talking out of both sides of their mouth when it comes to Linux?
Our enterprise will likely be forced to move to a different DS (eDirectory?) if Sun is going to continue to drag it's feet around making their software run on Linux.

I can answer your questions but not in this forum - this is not the appropriate place to discuss products other than Sun's. You should be able to get my email address by clicking on the link to richm31415 next to Author:. If not, post here again.

  • Does the Macbook Air run full, standalone versions of software or does it require special, streamlined apps?

I'm looking to buy a Macbook. Will the Macbook Air load and run full, unabridged versions of Mac-compatible software, such as what I already own, or does it require only special "apps" versions such as the iPad and iPhone do? I realize that the Macbook Air blurb states you can wirelessly use another Mac's drive to load software onto a MBA or buy an add-on drive to connect it up and load software but my question is the performance capability of the MBA to actually run full versions of ALL OS X Mac-compatible software.

The MacBook Air runs the identical operating system as any other Mac, and is subject to no arbitrary limitations imposed on the latest software, or by the latest software.
The only remaining factor is hardware. All Mac software has it's own individual requirements for the system, that being the speed of the processor, the amount of memory, the type of graphics processor required, etc. Some select software, say intense game apps, will not run very well or at all on the MBA, and it simply the lack of a system's component compatibility of performance. But this is a factor present in all computers, nothing special about the MacBook Air.
So, as long as the hardware is sufficient for the system requirements of the software, you can install and use any full version app designed for OS X Lion.

  • Will the New MaPro running Maveriks do a select boot from an external HD of older OSX versions?

    Hi...
I was wondering if the new MacPro will do an Option selective boot of an external HD bootable backup made using SuperDuper?  The drive would be a FW800 external connected via adaptor as the nMP has nonly TB and USB 3 ports.

As shipped, the new MacPro late 2103 will boot ONLY from the software it shipped with, or a re-load of the software it shipped with. Nothing older.
You may be able to install and fiddle with Virtualization software to get an older version to run under a Hypervisor, but it will be some work.

  • Will the Universal Software run on original Mac??

    Hi All,
Seens Apple had introduce the Intel base Mac, I'm a bit worry about the Mac software will be obsolete between 3-5 years later, without the software support, I think the G4/G5 base system will be a piece of junk soon.
How could people invest a high-end computer without software in next few year? Anyone clear with the situation?
    Regards,
    Goh

Apple says it will migrate its entire product line to Intel by the end of the calendar year. This means that all the hardware they make after that will be Intel, it does not mean that they will not be making software for only Intel Macs after that. Apple has pledged to support the PPC for some time, they still have, and will have a lot of users on PPC.
OSX-PPC and OSX-Intel are the same, they just run differently due to different chips, so programing for OSX should run just as well on either. If developers are using Apples X-Code tools all they have to do in theory is check on extra check box to make a Universal that will run on both, the extra time in development is in testing two platforms.
Codeing for OS9 and OSx were writing for different OS's so they had to start over basically.
It will be a long time before the Intel Mac number get near the PPC installed base right now.

  • Is there an option to download an older version of Firefox? I downloaded FF4 and there is not one single thingI like about it, especially how slow the browser started running. Older version, somewhere? Please?

I prefer the previous version(s), where everything wasn't so clustered in one corner, where my browser actually opened quickly and it wasn't so painfully box-y.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • If I download the latest version will the browsing history of my existing version be lost or will it remain.

For various reasons I wish to retain my long term browsing history. I am concerned that if I download the latest version this history will be lost. Can anyone help.
    Thx

hello Mugwumps, in principle it should work, but since you're using such an outdated version i don't think this particular update path is something that has been tested.
just to be sure, i'd recommend creating a backup of your profile (which contains all personal data including your history) before you continue with the upgrade: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]

  • Will the new iMac run MSOffice 2004?

I have been running MS Office 2004 for Mac on my Macs since, oh, around 2004.  I'm completely happy with it.  I don't need any new features.  I know it inside and out and I don't want to learn a new version.
Will a brand new iMac run my Office 2004 software?  Or will this software be obsolete on a new machine?

No, except by running it through Mac OS X Server 10.6 in emulation.
