Will there be NFC-enabled (near field communication technology) in the iphone5? So I can just click the app and pay with just swiping my iphone5 by the card swiper?

I really want the app on the iphone5 where we can just click the app and swipe our phone by the card scanner and its paid for or even use it to send a signal to open remote operated cars. Please Im begging you apple. I want to be able to go to Jack in the Box and get my Strawberry milkshake fast! LOL

    Hi to All,
I made one VI to transfer information of one file .ini to the tag through NFC.
I share the screen shoot and some information.
    I use a DEMO-CR95HF-A evaluation board of ST.com
I hope that the information help you to know the NFC and LabView.

  • NFC "Near Field Communication" ?

A buddy of mine has a Nexus Tablet, he is annoying me by continually telling me how much better it is than my iPad2 !!!!!!
The latest thing he tells me about is his Nexus has NFS "Near Field Communication" where he can transfer photos (for example) from one Nexus to another simply by bumping them together !!!.
I dont believe my iPad2 is this clever, but can it be done with iPad3
They do a similar thing with Sony TV's and Sony Mobile Phones.

Bump has been around for two or three years. Unlike simply emailing (something every smart phone is able to do) to send a file, Bump requires that both parties have the app. And, despite having been around for years, I've met very few people who have it installed. So, by the time they download it, they already have the file I emailed them. If it works for you, that's great. But, for me, it's always seemed like a solution in search of a problem.
    Best of luck.

  • When is a message considered as received when using Near Field Communication?

    Hi there!
I'm using Near Field Communication(NFC) in my app(it's a game) and I just want to send very simple messages so the regular NFC tap suffices.
I've read the documentation and went through the proximity sample and I understand what I've to do to make this work, so no problems so far.
The thing I'm struggeling with is the following: I would like to send a message using NFC to a particular player in my game.
Two players are connected to each other and only those two should be supposed to be able to send messages to each other using NFC.
These messages do not contain any secret information so I can use the "Windows." format as tag to subscribe to and send messages with.
I came up with the idea to subscribe for a tag that's basically your userId and publish messages with a tag that consists out of your opponents user_id. All of that works fine the thing is, I use the MessageTransmitedHandler and MessageReceivedHandler, the
one is raised when you've succesfully transmited the message and the other one when you've received a message.
These callback functions make sure that you only send a message once and receive it once by using the StopPublishingMessage and StopSubscribingForMessage functions. And here's the catch, I only want to call these functions if you actually "consume"
the message you receive! And stop publishing a message when the correct opponent received it.(This is to make sure that if multiple users are in the same room for example that only the one's related to each other can tap each other's devices).
Right now the callback function will always stop publishing the message, or subscribing to a message even if you tapped the wrong user.
I'm not 100% sure but I do believe this is because the callback function is called no matter if the other device really "consumed' the message.
So my question is, is there a way to determine if the opposing side actually "consumed' the message? If there's no built in function for this(which I think there isn't after I went through the documentation) do you guys have any idea how I could achieve
    the behaviour I want?
I hope my message isn't too confusing, if it's feel free to indicate that and I'll try to clarify those parts.
    Thanks in advance!
    My best regards
    Jan

Proximity is a great way for users on tow devices to share your app experience and data. You can establish a connection between two peer apps at one time as I know. This quickstart describe it in detail,
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh465205.aspx. If one user want to communicate with a third user, his app need to connect to that one first.
If I'm not mistaken this sets up a WiFi or Bleutooth connection, I'm not really looking for that since the message I wish to send is really really short and NFC is perfect for it. It seems like a hassle to me to set up such a peer to peer connection just to
be able to identify if the message has been received by the correct user.

  • I have two apple ID's, one with all my apps and one with only Mavericks. Will Mavericks update automatically if i'm not logged in to the apple ID I used to download it?

I have two apple ID's, one with all my apps and one with only Mavericks. Will Mavericks update automatically if i'm not logged in to the apple ID I used to download it?

Some things are mixed up here, seemingly...
I seem to have two Apple ID's attached to my e-mail.
An Apple ID is a valid email address, apparently. How can those be "attached to your email"... what email?
Facetime will not verify my e-mail address because it is associated with the other account.
This doesn't make sense. You can register multiple, even non-Apple-ID, email addresses and their aliases with FaceTime.
So, maybe you can explain your problem better - what you want and the steps you've taken and what you have so far. If something doesn't work, please tell the exact error message, too.

  • 13.56 MHz Near Field Communications

    Hi,
this new 13.56 MHz NFC which is suppposed to be "complementary" to Bluetooth. Does that mean we can use the Bluetooth API for communicating via NFC? Or is it part of the JavaCard APIs, or has nothing been developed yet that supports NFC in Java?

No there is nothing for NFC in Java ... still no API ....
    But there will be.
Additionally - NFC is considered as a Bluetooth "enabler" - but this is not the original intention of it. NFC can support everything what flies on the 13.56 carrier (ISO14443, Felica, mifare and ECMA340)
But I'm sure there will be new topic for this.

  • Will there be a new LGA 2011 board(s) for the release of IB-E?

    As the topic suggests.
I'm planning a new build and would like to know.
    Cheers :D

Don't get your hopes up. Initially, DDR4 will be too expensive and too slow to justify the jump over DDR3. It'll be the next high end platform (the X99 successor) that will be considerably faster compared to DDR3 platforms. It's like the DDR to DDR2 and DDR2 to DDR3 switches. Major performance increases happened a couple of years after the new interface surfaced.
X99 will use many SATA 6Gbps ports but until then there will be cheaper SATA 12Gbps expansion cards on the market. Not to mention that using more than 2 of them is very unlikely. HDDs are hardly reaching 1.5Gbps and you won't need more than 2 SSDs on a typical system. If the system is not typical then it will either use 12Gbps SATA or PCIe SSDs, so again the 6Gbps ports will not be needed.
The PCIe 3 fiasco is NVIDIA's mess and has nothing to do with limitations of X79 and SB-E processors.
Essentially, the only reason to get X99 will be the support for 8 to 12 core Haswell-E desktop processors. But those will most likely be overpriced (1000$+).
Unfortunately Ivy Bridge-E desktop processors (out around this November) won't likely come in more than 6 cores. Unlike the server parts that will have up to 12 cores.
Haswell-E and X99 are expected to come out near November 2014. That's about one year and half from now. So waiting until then is not advised.
All in all, X79 and Sandy Bridge-E lasted way more than I thought. They'll stay 2 full years since their release at the top of desktop platforms until IB-E comes out and steals the first place in performance. Then after 1 year Haswell-E will ditch it to 3rd place, maybe 4th counting the Haswell refresh for LGA1150.
LGA2011 seems to be on par with LGA1366 in regards to longevity.
LGA1366 processors offered a greater performance boost over similar core 2 processors. The problem was that the major boost the 970 gave over quad core processors came at a very high price and came two years after the platform was released, and when the 980 came out SB-E was just around the corner.
Still, even 5 years later, a quad core 920 is fast enough to run every software currently out at reasonably high settings.
LGA2011 processors offer a less significant performance boost over similar LGA1366 processors, but the cost is far lower for the hexa-core released together with X79, while the LGA1366 equivalents were either too expensive or came out near the end of the platform's life. You also have more PCIe lanes with double the speed per lane. The greater over-clocking potential of SB-E is also a plus.
Judging from the current trends, it seems that early LGA1366 processors like the 920 will be enough for everything until around 2014-2015, and late hexa-core ones until around 2017-2018. That's like freaking 10 years since the platform came out!
LGA2011 processors will last about 5 years longer due to typical performance increases on new processors, and due to the inclusion of AVX instructions on them leaving major overhead for application performance optimizations (it's as important as SSE was for Pentium 3). That's also like 10 years until LGA2011 came out, maybe 12-15 if octa-core (or faster) IB-E desktop processors come out.
Technological advancements happen at a lower pace these years. Long gone are the days where every next year processor performance was doubled. Back then you needed a new PC every 2 years. I guess that I prefer the current situation. :p
Anyway, this post went a little overboard. To answer the poster's question... I'd say that MSI will get new X79 boards out in order to have "out of the box" Ivy Bridge-E capable boards out on the market. No current boards will support IB-E until their BIOS is updated, which is quite pointless if you need to buy an old processor in order to make the new one you bought compatible.
If you have a way to update the board BIOS to get the board ready for IB-E then by all means, get one of the MSI boards already out. The 8 DIMM versions of the X79A GD45 and GD65 boards from MSI are amongst the most reliable boards out there, even compared to the boards of other platforms (LGA 1155, 1150, AM3, etc).
Now, I don't say that there can't be defective boards, just that the chances of getting a defective board are far lower compared to the rest. The reliability of those boards when they are stressed is also better than on the rest.
    Cheers! :D

  • Will there be a RAW plugin for Elements 12 supporting the Canon EOS 7D MkII - or when will the DNG converter for this be available?

I've just bought a Canon EOS 7D MkII but cannot open the RAW files in Elements 12. I also can't use the latest DNG Converter to convert them - will either option become available and if yes how long is it likely to take please?
    Thanks, Sarah

    Hi,
The Canon 7D Mk II is currently not supported by any version of camera raw.
It is expected that Camera raw 8.7 will include support and we are hoping that it will be released soon.
PSE 12 has ceased to be updated - you will either need to update to PSE 13 or use the DNG 8.7 converter (when it becomes available) to convert the CR2 files to DNG files - PSE 12 will then beable to use the DNG files.

  • I am using a 6024E DAQ Card. Software is done in VB5. When closing the application is there anything that I have to do to close the card or just simply exiting is OK ? I am just using the AIRead_Scan and DigInPort functions.

When using the 6024E DAQ card, with VB5, is there anything that one has to do to close / shutdown the card before exiting the application. The application only uses AIRead_Scan and DigIn_Port functions.

    Hello,
You won't need any other functions after AI_Read_Scan or after DIG_In_Prt since both functions are for none buffered acquisitions.
For more information, I recommend that you take a look at the shipping examples that get installed under the folder C:\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples
    Good luck with your application!

User, can you give us a bit more info about the concrete use case?
In general the is nothing in the current version which helps you with this. However you can use any other application or native device which supports this. ADF Mobile uses phone gap to access devices of the phone, so in general if the phone supports this you should be able to use it in ADF Mobile too.

  • Adding new site columns to my issue tracking List, will result in having their Source field as blank inside the Issue content type

I have added an Issue tracking list to my SharePoint team site 2013. Then I wanted to add 5 extra columns to my list . So I did the following:-
    I went to site settings.
Then I added 5 new site columns.
I went back to my list setting, I click on the “Issue” content type, and I added the 5 newly added site columns to my "Issue" content type , using the “Add from existing site or list columns” link as follow:-
And then these columns were added automatically inside the Edit, Create& Display forms.
But since this is the first time I work on such a task , so I want to make sure that I did every thing correctly. Because I am not sure why the 5 newly added site columns will have their source field inside the “Issue” content type as blank , as shown in
the above picture. So does this indicate that there is a problem ? or this is because I have added the 5 newly added site columns to the List content type and not inside the Content type at the site level ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
It’s by design, the Source field means the content type name.
As you said, when we create a new column, if we not attach the column to a content type, then the column would have not the source field option.
However, if you create a new column, then add the column in a content type, the content type would automatically update in the site.
Now, you would see a source content type appear.
    Thanks & Regards,

After having researched this for a couple of weeks, Im here to tell you guys at Apple that there is a BIG hole in the market for IPad clamping desk mounts that arent ugly and cumbersom. This Ergontron in an IPad format would sell bazillions!
