Win2003 R2 with CF5.0?

Hi,
We're currently running CF5.0 on a Windows 2000 server with
IIS5.0.
Our servers are about to be updated/replaced and we are
considering using Windows2003 R2, however I'm not sure that CF5.0
will work ok? Can anybody confirm this?
The machines are dual CPU Xeon's with 64bit architecture
however I have read that I would definately encouter problems if I
went to Win2003 X64, therefore I'm going to stick with 32bit for
now.
Does 2003R2 come with IIS7 now? Or is it IIS6 with an option
to upgrade to IIS7 as I also read that IIS7 can be an issue.

situation. i tried it under Windows2003 R2 and as expected it
doesn't work. Is there any plans to allow this as ideally i do not
want to run a x64 server as 32bit.....

CFMAIL SMTP authentication with CF5

I need to use CFMAIL to send email notifications via an
exchange server. The issue: the server is running CF 5 and the
exchange server requires SMTP authentication. As you may all know,
there's no way to pass a username and password in CF5.
So my question is, is there a module available for CF5 that
will achieve similar results.
Sadly I can't upgrade to CF MX 6, 7 or 8.

It's been quite a while since I worked with CF 5, but you can
try setting up the mail server address like this:
username:[email protected]
On a side note, is there any reason why you (or the client)
are not considering an upgrade? I mean, I think HTTP 1.1 was still
the standard when 5 was released - it's about 40 "
technology years" old now. *just wondering*

Select * for multiple tables in cfquery does not work anymore as it used to with CF5

I am migrating from CF5. the following code used to work:
SELECT *
FROM tablea a, tableb b
where a.id =b.id
now I get an error when getting the value of ID (error:
queryname.ID undefined). I suspect the * is the problem and is not
permitted in that format with CF 7.

cfdump is, for the most part, a debugging tool which allows
you to look at varialbes and their values at various points of the
template. Rarely would you want to let real users see that sort of
output.
I'd be suspicious if adding cfdump, and nothing else solved
the problem. I also wouldn't rely on it as a permanent solution.
Using select * for a query against more than one table is still
"sloppy" code and cold fusion tends be less forgiving of sloppy
code with each upgrade.
In case you were wondering, it's "sloppy" because it brings
back more data than you need. You will never need the joining
fields twice.

Win2003 ServerIssues with Port Channel?

Hello all. I have had 2 different Windows 2003 Servers with Teamed 1000MB NICs have trouble when connecting to a port channel on a 4507. The server is not pingable while connected to the port channel. Once I remove the 2 interfaces from the port channel, communication is back up. I do see that when looking at the mac-address table for one of the interfaces in the port channel it shows both the virtual MAC of the teamed NICs and the physical mac of the NIC. This seems to be an issue but does not happen with any of our Windows 2000 Servers. They only show the virtual MAC when looking at the table.
Any information on this issue is appreciated. It may be more of a Windows problem than Cisco but I will check both.

which NICs do you have (brand) ? Not sure if this helps, but what if you configure port security on both ports of the 4507, allowing only the virtual MAC address ?

i've been checked the PAM (Product Availability Matrix) on service.sap.com. It shows me that DB6 LUW 9.1 on Windows 2003 x64 is supported with 4.7 Enterprise.
On service.sap.com/instguides i only find the Installation Guide for DB6 UDB 8.1. But i have searched a little bit more and i found a SAP Note 967555.
This is the note i've been searched for. You can install SAP 4.7 Enterprise with DB6 UDB 8.1 / DB6 LUW 9.1 / DB6 LUW 9.5.

FMS-Srv Win2003 Setup with two NICs

Hello Forum,
I have a problem with setting up my FMS and to NICs.
NIC #1: public IP
NIC #2: private IP
On #1 I will setup port 1935 and 80 - Clients can connect to my livestreams
On #2 I will setup port 1935 and RDV for the FlashLiveEncoder and the RemoteDesktop
My problem is, when I activate the NIC #2 the FMS is noct reachable from the public NIC.
I think it is a FW problem or a problem withe application.xml.
Does anybody know how to setup my server (NIC, application.xml and FW) to run how I like?

Problem with QofQ and Null Values

Just converted from CF5 to CF7. Finally figured out what was
causing the error message :
"The value "" cannot be converted to a number" when running a
QofQ. It happens whenever there is a NULL (and I think a ZERO)
value in the QofQ. I'm using the QofQ in a seperate chart program.
The main query merges data from a store and a region table.
I'm doing a LEFT OUTER JOIN to combine the REGION with the STORE,
AND so that stores with NO SALES for a given day will show up as
ZERO. On the main report, when I don't use a QofQWhen grouping by
DAY or MONTH, I can test the value in the CFOUTPUT for NULL or ZERO
and display "0" or "N/A" on the report.
But when I try to chart it, using a QofQ to read in the
values from the main query, and format the numbers, I get this
error message. I've tried using the CAST function, using FLOAT,
DOUBLE, BIGINT, etc., but still get same error message.
The only way I could fix this is to add a WHERE statement to
the QofQ, that only includes sales values greater than ZERO. But
then, I have gaps in my chart because stores with NO SALES for a
given day or MONTH don't appear. Because they are removed from the
query. The whole point of LEFT JOINS is to include items with no
values (or NULL) values.
Does anyone know if it's possible to keep these values in a
QofQ? So that items (e.g., store locations in my case) with NULL or
ZERO values for some or all days or months can be charted? Even
with a ZERO value? I've read everything I can get my hands on
regarding QofQ, the CAST function, etc., but nothing seems to work.
Thanks for any help. (FYI, didn't have this problem with CF5. It's
QofQ could handle NULL or ZERO values without providing an error).

Well, I tried the IsNull function on the 3 SUM() values I was
calculating in my SELECT statement (on a LEFT OUTER JOIN QUERY),
and I STILL got another "cannot convert "" to a number" but this
time the error message was more direct, and pointed me to a DATE
field in my query, where I was SORTING AND GROUPING either by DAY
or MONTH (depending on what user selected on form).
In my QofQ, I'm not just reformating the integer SUM()
values, but also the date values. So, I applied the IsNull()
function to the DATE values in my main query. I still kept getting
errors. But after experimenting ((SQL Server BOL docs doesn't give
ISNULL() examples for DATE FIELDS, only NUMBER fields), I tried
putting the dates in SINGLE QUOTES in my IsNull() function, the
QUERY RAN. Then I wasn't sure WHAT date to enter, e.g., 1/1/1889 or
1/1/2001, etc.
Then, I discovered, after experimenting, that you cannot just
blindly enter ANY date when using IsNull in a date field,
especially if you are using CFGRAPH to chart the results by day.
You have to select a date within the date range the user selected,
so this means using the FORM.DATE (or URL.DATE) value from the
form. Here's the working example from my SELECT main query:

Then I discovered that whatever date was used in the URL.DATE
field (in my case it would be one of the two date field from the
form, and depended on whether you coded DATE1 or DATE2, the chart
would always show ZERO values for that date. So I tried putting the
IsNull() date values in the GROUP BY and ORDER BY statements, e.g.,

I guess you have to learn all the little "quirks" about CF7
and how it's QofQ and chart programs work. But so far, so good.
Thank you all for your help. Now I've got to update other old
CF5 programs that are returning errors when there are null values
from my LEFT OUTER JOIN queries. Will take some time, but at least
I know how to do it. Thanks to your help.

Active PDF with CF MX7

Hi,
I support an application. Which was on CF5 and it has been
migrated to CF7. In this we populate some information on a PDF
using active pdf. We use a "SetFormFieldData" . Syntax is like -
pdf.SetFormFieldData("field" , "value" , -998)
This field is an amouont field, so it has to be like for eg
2340.54. But when it populates on the form, if it has 3 digits
before decimal (for eg . 345.00) . it is getting populated
correctly on Pdf. But if it has 4 digits before decimal it is being
populated incorrectly by truncating last digit. For eg if the
amount is 2340.54 , it will populate as 2340.5 only 4 will not be
populate. This problem is with CF7 only , its working fine with
CF5. Also my PDF has two pages , with several number of lines. Only
first page has this problem not the others.
I was using '0' in the starting for the properties of
SetFormFieldData. I have also tried -997 , -998 , -996 and other
too. But none of them is working correctly on CF7. Few of them is
not allowing to populate data on the form at all. And few of them
is fine for CF5 but not for CF7.
Please suggest. What is the problem . Is it something related
to CF7 compatibilty with active PDF. Or active PDF is corrupt..
Any kind of help is greatly appreciated. I am stuck in this
and client is waiting to get it resolved.

CFWDDX Time Issue with CF7

We're upgrading a bunch of apps from CF5 to CF7. We've run
into an issue with cfwddx that results in times coming across with
one hour subtracted - this didn't happen with CF5. Basically I'm
packetizing query results with an action CFML2JS. If I just dump
that packet via something like alert(mypacket.value) I can see that
the date is intact. However, if I break it down via WDDX2CFML then
run a cfquery against it, the datetime fields are all coming back
one hour short, i.e. 10 PM instead of 11 PM. I'm suspecting I need
to manipulate the usetimezoneinfo property of the serializer
object, but I'm not sure how to do that - at any rate, is this a
known problem with CF7? Any suggestions at all on how to get around
this would be greatly appreciated!

DFS Migration from Win2003 to Win2008R2

If we use File Services Migration tool to migrate DFS Namespace from Win2003 to Win2008R2, Can I still have Win2003 running with DFS namespaces after migration completes ? and can we have both win2003 and Win2008R2 running at the same time? I am asking
this because we need to run old DFS server for sometime until we confirm the new DFS server working fine in the environment.

I think we could not run DFS namespaces on Win2003. Because server name is changed and users and applications will be unable to use the old server names.

A hosting co that I am interested in only host cf 5 not cf mx
7 - would would be the difficulties in changing?

depends what your code is. if you are using cfcs I think you
can only do that with cfmx7. WIth cf5 you will need to use custom
tags and udfs instead of cfcs. I don`t think that cf5 supports
flash forms. If your code is written in cfmx7 there may be issues
that you will have to recode. hths

ExtendedOperation() with TLS fails with javax.naming.NotContextException

With JDK 1.4.2_12, I'm trying to access a Win2003 server with "ldap://<fqdn.server>:389" as Context.PROVIDER_URL. An SSL connection ("ldaps://<fqdn.server>:636") using the same keystore works fine. Testing it as a stand-alone app with TLS on a different machine also works fine (JDK 1.4.2_11) . Any help would be much appreciated as I'm completely flummoxed.

If it works on one machine and not another, then I hate to state the obvious, but you have to find out what is the difference between the two.
I have no idea why or how you get the "Not an instance of LdapContext". Unfortunately for you, this is where I can resort to my lame "I'm not a Java developer" excuse :-)
The only thing I can suggest is to remove the StartTLS stuff, and just see whether you can perform a basic LDAP operation over the ctx, such as a simple search.

Installation problem on Windows 2003

Hi All,
I have installed the saprfc extension on my laptop for testing purposes.
Definitions of my laptop: Windows XP, IIS 6, PHP 4.4.2, SAP GUI 640
Everything works fine and I can access the SAP through the web server on my laptop without any problem.
Now, after finishing my tests I installed my web application on a real production server with the following definitions: Windows 2003 server, IIS 6, PHP 4.4.2
As you can see the two differences are the operating system and the fact that I do not have a complete SAP GUI installation on the server I only located the librfc32.dll under the windows library.
My problem is that I get the message that the php_saprfc.dll extension cannot be loaded (I edited the php.ini).
Doe anyone have any idea why?

I have an installation with my laptop WIN2003 server with apache web server instead of IIS, without problems.
Are you sure that in your php.ini is all OK?
Have you tried to copy the WIN2003 php.ini on your laptop and try to load saprfc.dll?

Interactive reporting : error while refreshing MSSQL data in Workspace

Hi all,
I recently work with Hyperion and I am facing an issue that makes me crazy.
My configuration is simple :
- 1 win2003 server with Hyperion Interactive Reporting services and workspace installed (both works properly)
- 1 winXP machine with MS Sql Server 2005
- My dev PC an winXP with IR studio.
I created an IR report with a MSSQL query that retrieves data into a Table.
The report is displayed properly and the data is OK.
When I refresh the data in IR studio, everything is OK.
I import the OCE file into the the workspace, following by the BQY file.
The report is displayed properly in workspace with the correct data.
I change the data in the MSSQL server and I try to refresh the report in the workspace.
So, I open the report in the workspace and I click on the refresh button.
But when I do that, I get an error message.
I read somewhere that we have to configure the DAS.
I assume that the configuration is made via the Administer/Database connection management (sorry if names are not correct, but I have a french version).
But when I try to add a new connection, I have only 4 choices for the type of database : Essabse, Financial Management, Planning and SAP BW.... No MSSQL Server.
I hope that anyone among you can help me, but anyway, thanks for reading my post.

You need to enter DATABASE details in DAS (Data Access Services) by running Service Configurator.
Then run Remote and Local Service configurator to enter database details.

This is something related to Financial Reporting.
