Window component and masking

My objective:
1) load a blankMC from the library in to a custom component.
The custom component is made up of a window component.
2) from the blankMC, create a maskMC and a containerMC
3) load an external swf in to the containerMC
4) use maskMC as containerMC's mask
I have completed all of this inside Flash authoring
environment
If i run my swf as a stand alone, the masking no longer works
for certain swfs.

This is the AS that is used in the form. When I navigate to
the swf directly, it works like a charm. When I load the the swif
with the form into my popup window it stops working. It seems that
the actionscript goes through the motions but doesn't receive a
response from the server.
The setup is as follows: On the main timeline I have a
button, which opens the popup window, in which the
"contactform.swf" loads. The attached ActionScript is in the 1st
frame of the actions layer in contactfrom.swf
Any help is greatly appreciated.

for application with application sandbox and for top-most html documents you could for example:

If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space. Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

Window Component, swf, and PHP

Hi everyone,
I have a simple mail form, which communicates with a PHP
script on the server. When I go to the swf directly it works just
fine. When I put it inside the window component it stops working. I
think it has something to do with how the data gets sent from the
window component.
Anybody have a suggestion what to do?

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 5 to IOS 7. Today I try to sync up itunes and downloaded the updated version. When I open it up I get the message, " A required iTunes componentis not installed, please repair or reinstall iTunes. (-45019). I am using Windows 8 and have no clue how to fix this.

Use the instructions here to completely remove/uinstall all iTunes/Apple software and componenets and then start from scratch.

A hardy ghost of Firefox is apparently running in my computer and I am unable to open Firefox, even after Window restarts and an uninstall/re-install. How do I find and fix this problem?

What happened first is Firefox was revving and using most of my CPU, ultimately "not responding" too easily and for too long, so I closed it in order to reopen it, but Firefox remained running in background (Task Mgr, Processes) after closing, continuing to use almost all my CPU, so I ended the process in Task Mgr.
When I went to re-open it, window opened and told me Firefox could not be opened because another "instance"(?) was still running, to close it or restart Windows. I couldn't close it because I already closed it AND ended the process, so I restarted Windows.
When I tried to open Firefox, I got the same pop-up. I think I restarted Windows one more time, and then uninstalled Firefox, except for my personal settings (in order to save the bookmarks, which I couldn't find in the Firefox folder in Program Files (only Favorites, which were not my bookmarks; I later wondered if they were part of the Firefox add-on "Add This" --??).
I then uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it. When I tried to start the newly re-installed program, I had the same pop-up telling me Firefox was already running and to close it or restart Windows.
I searched my computer folders for anything that might help, did a Search of the computer for "Firefox", and was given some Firefox folders and if they weren't from the new re-install, I deleted them. One thing I noticed was that the program folder did NOT have the program (Firefox.exe) icon to start Firefox.
I uninstalled Firefox and had to resort to using Internet Explorer, which I do NOT like. My rich library of bookmarks are who knows where.
I don't know if this is related, but in searching my computer's Administrative Services and Component Tools (and the like) hoping to find something that would help me fix Firefox, I inadvertently learned that "MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly. Name: .NET Framework 1.1 Config."
Please help me get Firefox back and figure out what is going on in my computer that led to this. I am a basic user and not techno-computer saavy, so if anyone can help me with this, please give me step-by-step bonehead instructions.

How to Block Themes, Wallpapers and other Display Customizations (DPI, Scaling, Window Color and Appearance) with USMT 5.0?

and used part of the XML in their example, but the wallpaper, themes and other display customizations are still coming over. Now I'm trying to use MigXmlHelper.DestinationPriority() but really its just my last ditch effort.

I generated a config.xml called nothemeuiconfig.xml and changed this:

Opened a case with Microsoft, sent them:
the XML's I'm using
the command I used to generate the config.xml
the command I used for scanstate
the log files generated by scanstate
the command I used for loadstate
the log files generated by loadstate
Summary result of the MS case:
After much review & scrutiny, the command line and XML files are syntactically correct and rules are sound.
The articles I referenced in the ticket are indeed old and speak of an older version of USMT, so I can accept the possibility that something may have changed between USMT versions that render those suggested rules & instructions invalid.
Despite using
unconditionalExclude to unconditionally globally exclude objects, something else is trumping that rule, and there’s no way around that.
Even using
MigXmlHelper.DestinationPrioity() won’t help us here because, like above, something else trumps that rule, and there’s no way around that.
The last proposed suggestion is to disable the shmig component, which may or may not break or otherwise adversely affect the backup/restore of other things. (This may be too difficult to detect easily or in initial testing and the uncertainty doesn’t
give us confidence problems won’t arise as a result of this change. Also,
Ned Pyle's post post says NOT to, but then again that's an old post.)
Is this no longer possible or am I'm just doing it wrong?

If so, that, to me at least, represents a pretty significant change! We want the pinned items but not the backgrounds and themes so that specific change won't work for us, but glad to hear it meets your needs. (Also greatly appreciate your sharing
your results with us.)
I'll admit, even before reaching out to MS, the logs clearly show that the themes/backgrounds are all part of the 'Microsoft-Windows-shmig' component but dang it if I want something of substance (read: official documentation) that covers what exactly that
component handles. (I like to know what I'm potentially getting myself into.)

Problem loading window component more than once

I have a swf with a button that opens a window component
(from my library). it loads fine and also closes fine when I click
the close button in the window. but when I try to open the window
again, it actually loads again, but it stalls and locks up
immediatley. can anybody tell me what is wrong with my code? I also
was going to have different buttons to open different windows (each
swf playing a song and has written lyrics). it does the same thing
when i load the first window, close it, then try to open a second
window. it stalls and locks up.

It order to make it work, the window component has to be on the stage but i want it to popup only when the user clicks on the button. So the window should be hidden/invisible when the page first loads. I tried changing win._visible = true; but that did nothing.
The other problem is that the movie clip inside the window, isnt aligning center. i can only see a corner of the movie clip. in the top left. I havent tested the whole thing live though!

Error in unattend file windows 8 and 8.1 sysprep

Hi,
I am using MDT 2013 and ADK 8.1. I am trying to deploy Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 base image. Once the PC has finished imaging and starts the first boot it come up with the following message:
"Windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The setting in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]."
I have not created any answer files, I think this is created automatically my MDT when you create a Task Sequence.
I am not trying to deploy a custom image, this is the base image that was taken off the DVD and imported to MDT. When I use the DVD to install the OS it works fine but not through MDT.
Any help will be much appreciated..

You can find it on your client: C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
This will tell you exactly which setting cannot be parsed.

Home Sharing between Windows Vista and Windows 8

I am trying to carry out Home Sharing between my old Windows Vista laptop and my new Windows 8 laptop. I have followed all the instructions and both have HS switched on. I can see my W8 library from my WV laptop but I cannot see my WV library from my W8 laptop.
An additional question is I do not have a Podcast button on my Windows 8 iTunes whereas it is on the Windows Vista iTunes.
Can anyone assist me in finding a resolution????

I have been having this exact issue the past 2 days, and I've tried everything within my knowledge, but to no avail. Both Home Sharing computers are on the same network, logged into Home Sharing with the same Apple account, and both computers are authorized for that account. I'm afraid this may just be an issue with the recent iTunes update. Before this recent version, the 2 computers I'm trying to share between did so just fine. Now, the connection is only working one way. I think this will just have to be resolved on Apple's part upon a new iTunes update. Hopefully. Another reason may be the difference in computer operating software (Windows Vista vs. Windows 8) and the inability to communicate between the two (This can happen since the older OS may not be capable of communicating with the newer OS, while the newer OS MAY be capable of communicating with older OS versions). Therefore, a new update would be required from Apple to fix this error. As for your issue in not seeing the Podcast button, try this:
If you have version 11.0.1:
1) Click the very upper left icon in the window.
2) Click "Preferences..." (Or hit keys [CTRL] + [,])
3) Click the tab labeled "General" on the window that pops up.
4) There should be a list of check boxes, each labeled a different component of iTunes. (Music, Movies, etc.)
5) Make sure the checkbox labeled "Podcasts" is checked.
6) Click the "OK" button in the bottom right of the window to save changes and close the window.
If you have an earlier version, follow the EXACT same process as above, except step 1 will be different:
1) Click "File in the upper left corner.

Hi, I am using Windows 8 and iPhone 4S. Recently both Windows and iTunes cannot detect my iPhone. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest iTunes and related software, but no use. I tried follow this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 , but in doing the step "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed", replugging the device, I still can't find Apple iPhone in Device Manager.

CRM 5.0 IC Webclient Issue - Upgrading OS to Windows Vista and I.E 7.0

Dear Gurus,
I'm supporting CRM 5.0 and right now, users are running the IC
Webclient on Internet Explorer v 6.0. Recently, there has been
plans to upgrade the OS on users' PC to Windows Vista and it
comes with I.E 7.0. I checked the Product Availability Matrix on
SAP and found that there is a patch to cater for I.E 7.0.
My users are also using CTI function. However,there is no patch for CRM SAP Groupware Connector for IE 7.0.
Please assist. If CTI cannot function with IE 7.0, my users will
be stuck with OS Windows XP.

Thank you for your reply. I am a newbie in this area. Do bare with me for my inquiries on the subject.
For my customer's implementation, the ICI interface has been configured to communicate to external communication management software from Nortel.
I raised such an inquiry because, per my checking on the PAM for CRM 5.0, the information on SAP Groupware Connector is parked under the Web Browser tab. Per my understanding,the Groupware Connector executes message synchronization
between the CRM server and the Groupware server, in this case, it would be the AMC server.
I was wondering on:
1. the impact it would have on the above matter, if patches were to be applied on the server
2. whether there is a relation between the Group Connector and ICI interface, that would cause an impact on IC Webclient if patches for the browser upgraded is applied to the CRM server. There is no patch available for Groupware Connector for I.E 7.0.
The patches to be applied are for the following components:
SAP_ABA - Cross-Application Component
SAP_BASIS - SAP Basis Component
SAP_AP - SAP Application Platform
SAP_BW - BBPCRM
Please assist. I'd appreciate your help.
p/s: Are you using IE 7.0 with CRM? Was the server patch process a challanging one? Hope you can share. TQ

Loading Window Component with Button!

Hello! I found two tutorials that both contain pieces of what i am looking for but i cant seem to figure them out and get exactly what i want. Here is the first one:

In the first one, the general idea is what i am looking for. Except that i want to load a movieclip and not an image. My problem in this one is the button component that is used. I have no clue how to skin or customize the button, and i cant find a good tutorial to help me so i figured it might be easier to just change the actionscript for this. I want to be able to create my own button (instance button) and use that so that when people release that button, the movie clip pops up!
Now in this second tutorial that i found:

Its pretty much exactly what i want and it loads a movieclip. Problem is, when i add the code to a button, it doesnt work!
Can anyone help me? Hope i am clear in my explanation!

Ok it sort of works... here is my code:

It order to make it work, the window component has to be on the stage but i want it to popup only when the user clicks on the button. So the window should be hidden/invisible when the page first loads. I tried changing win._visible = true; but that did nothing.
The other problem is that the movie clip inside the window, isnt aligning center. i can only see a corner of the movie clip. in the top left. I havent tested the whole thing live though!

Window component / external swf - plz help :( !!

any clues here would be appreciated, its kept me up lately.
My flash app consists of a main swf, a button on the stage
which when clicked creates a Popup and loads an external swf like
so
myWindow = mx.managers.PopUpManager.createPopup(_root,
mx.containers.Window, true, (title:"My Title",
contentPath:"Status.swf"});
so far so good...
After I create the window and load the external swf I use
LocalConnection to pass values between the swfs eg.
sendingLC = new LocalConnection();
sendingLC.send("lc_name", "myMethod", txtUniqueID);
now i can pass values between swfs fine if I run the swfs in
separate players (or debugging both swfs in flash mx), but I cannot
pass in a value to a swf that is loaded in a window component into
the main swf
Would be really grateful if someone could post a sample fla
of the Window component loading external swfs and passing values
between the swfs or some ideas about how to achieve the same thing.
