Windows 10 Reservation Icon

I recently run all the Windows update for my laptop and I also updated all my drivers through HP Support Assistant however I still doesn't have the icon of upgrading to Windows 10, I double checked whether my laptop is compatible or not from the HP website and the website itself is telling me that yes it is compatible. there are no more updates that needs to be run from my laptop I wonder why im not getting the option to upgrade to Windows 10

i have 3 lenovo laptops, W550s, Lenovo edge 15", Yoga 13, HP laptop and desktop, and Toshiba laptop. i have same problem with with only lenovo branded products. all with win 8.1 pro. you must have KB3035583 update installed. some people say that the script below helped them: REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\UpgradeExperienceIndicators" /v UpgEx | findstr UpgEx
if "%errorlevel%" == "0" GOTO RunGWX
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Appraiser" /v UtcOnetimeSend /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

schtasks /query /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" | findstr Ready
if NOT "%errorlevel%" == "0" ping localhost >nul &goto :CompatCheckRunning
:RunGWX
schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Setup\gwx\refreshgwxconfig" paste to a notepad file and change the extension to .cmd this did not worked for any of the lenovo laptop.  Lenovo must have a software issue which prevents icon appear. todat microsoft tech remotely worked for 4 hours and fixed w550s. he spent another 4 hrs on second lenovo edge but no success. he is trying to run script above but did not worked on lenovo edge. will try another microsoft tech tomorrow morning. we need lenovo to fix this issue whatever causes this problem. all other brand PCs i have and other PCs we use in office gets the upgrade notification. lenovo please weigh in and fix the issue.

  • Windows 10 reservation icon does not show in the tray

    Hi
    I have a 1/2 year old lenovo t440p with Windows 8.1 - totally updated on Windows Update.
    A windows 10 reservation icon should be shown on the lower right part of the tray, but it doesn't. A have searched different solutions, and tried manually to run gwx etx.
    I there any reason related to Lenovo, that it is not possible to make a reservation for Windows 10 at present time (it should have been possible since 29 May 2015).

  • Re: Windows 10 reservation icon does not show in the tray (lenovo t440p)

    I have a Lenovo G780 laptop which had Windows 8 installed when I purchased it.  I've since upgraded to 8.1 and have all the Windows updates necessary to receive an invitation to reserve Windows 10, but I still haven't had the icon.  When I go to Microsoft site to try to download Windows 10, I just keep getting sent round in circles.  Whatever the problem is I just can't upgrade to Windows 10 at the moment.  It can't be all to do with Lenovo because my husband has a Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 PC with Windows 7 installed and he has had both the reservation icon and, today, an invitation to download Windows 10.  Is there a problem with the laptops?

    I made my reservation back in June and up until today the icon always appeared. However, it disappeared today.

    For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
    If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
    Problem solved.
    And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions.

  • Windows Task Bar Icon (Access 2013)

    This is my first database I created from scratch in Access 2013, and I am not sure how to change my Windows Task Bar Icon use the Application Icon.  Not a huge deal, but to keep consistency between my systems, it would be nice to resolve.
    How does one get Access 2013 to use the Application Icon to show in the Windows Task Bar when the program is launched?

    Hi Mark,
    >> it wasn't a big issue, it is just by assigning an Icon in Access 2010, the application magically had that same icon on the task bar showing open programs.<<
    Based on my test, the icon in Windows Task Bar will not change after I assign an icon for Access 2010. I tested in Access 2010 on Windows 7, here is the screenshot for your reference:

  • Retrieving Windows File System Icons

    I am building a tool similiar to windows explorer in Java 1.3.1
    Does anyone know how to access the windows file system icons. I noticed that java 1.4 has a method in the FileView class called getSystemIcon(File f) to retrieve the icon. Does anyone know how to do this in 1.3.1 ?
    Thanks,
    clevelam

    I wrote a program that displays all of the UIManager properties in a table format. Try running it and clicking on the FileView tab.
    http://www.discoverteenergy.com/files/ShowUIDefaults.java
    Once you know which property you want to access, try something like this:
    UIDefaults defaults = UIManager.getDefaults();
    Icon computerIcon = defaults.getIcon( "FileView.computerIcon" );

    any body would think we have all day to muck about......all I want to do is add my windows live mail icon to the site 2hrs on and no luck.....

    in case you are referring to the mail client/desktop program called windows live mail, you cannot integrate that into your firefox. since windows live mail is developed by microsoft they may have integrated it into their own internet explorer browser but likely won't to so for any third party software.
    for quick access to your mails you'd either have to put a shortcut of the programm onto the windows taskbar or use a firefox extension (like the ones mentioned before) to directly monitor the webmail versions of your email accounts.

  • ThinkPad Tablet 10 - WIndows 10 upgrade icon not appearing

    I have a ThinkPad 10 with 64 bit Windows 8.1. My two ThinkPad laptops both have the Windows 10 upgrade icon but this has not happened for my Tablet 10. I've done all of the Lenovo and Windows updates, so it's up to date. The GWX folder is in the appropriate place.   Any help with this appreciated as I can't think of any other things to try.

    Yes you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10. Now, if you are asking whether Lenovo will support the uprade, meaning provide Windows 10 specific drivers, that is a different question. In the situation that you computer doesn't have direct support from Lenovo you could just see if there are Windows 8.1 Drivers available for your machine. You could use those in Windows 10 without a problem.  Be sure to backup important files, and download all the important drivers before installing the new OS. Also take not of  your Windows 7 Pro Key, as the Windows 10 upgrade will need that information.

  • I attempt to open a second window from the icon but it does not open then when firefox is closed it will not reopen because it is still running in processes but no window displayed until you kill the process and then restart firefox.

    I attempted to open a new window from the Firefox icon but nothing happens. I then went on browsing and closed Firefox but was later unable to open it. I checked processes and it was already running but there was no window displayed. I am running Windows 7 Professional.

  • Changes to awesome -- xterm windows and stray icon

    Hi All,
    I recently upgraded from awesome 3.3.4-1 to 3.4.3-2.  There used to be a setting:
    -- Honor size hints: if you want to drop the gaps between windows, set this to false.
    c.size_hints_honor = false
    Doing this made my xterm windows take up the whole screen; without it there was a small margin.  That setting doesn't seem to exist in the latest default rc.lua, and so my xterm windows have a border again (specifically, on the right and the bottom).  Any ideas as to how I make this go away?
    Also, I use the Opera web browser, and somehow its little red "O" icon ends up stuck in the display that gives the time, justified left.  Any idea what that is about?
    In case it matters, my rc.lua is below (minor changes, mostly key bindings, from the default).
    Thanks for any help.

    Doing this made my xterm windows take up the whole screen; without it there was a small margin.  That setting doesn't seem to exist in the latest default rc.lua

    Also, I use the Opera web browser, and somehow its little red "O" icon ends up stuck in the display that gives the time, justified left.  Any idea what that is about?
    It doesn't get stuck anywhere, you positioned it there with widget layouts: http://awesome.naquadah.org/wiki/Awesome_3.3_to_3.4

  • Opening a new window by clicking icon on the tableview

    I would like to open a new popup window to show data by clicking an icon on one tableview. This data is kept in an internal table passed by a parent controller. Is there any example provided? (I am not familiar with the javascript language)

    You will not be able to get the index of the row which is being clicked by this method.  As the OnClientClick Event is processed on the client side, and the index is selected on the server side.
    For this you need to do some changes.......
    in the table tag populate this event <b>onSelect  = "<OnSelect>" </b> this event.
    Now use a flag, let it be SHOW_POPUP.
    Now in the event handling capture the selection event of the table.
    IF EVENT->EVENT_NAME = 'tableView' AND
                       EVENT->EVENT_SERVER_NAME = 'onSelect'.
      TV ?= CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_DATA( REQUEST = REQUEST
                                        NAME    = 'tableView'
                                      ID      = '<tableID' ).
      IF TV IS NOT INITIAL.
        TABLE_EVENT = TV->DATA.
        ROWINDEX = TABLE_EVENT->ROW_INDEX.
        READ TABLE <Table Name> INDEX ROWINDEX into WA.
        Key = WA-<VALUE>.
        clear SHOW_POPUP.
        IF Key IS NOT INITIAL.
        SHOW_POPUP = 'X'.
        ENDIF.
      ENDIF.
    ENDIF.
    Now in the LayOut Page Write This Script In Between Form Tag in the begning only.
    <%
    if SHOW_POPUP EQ 'X'.
    %>
    <script>
    function call_help(name)
       var result = window.open(name,"helpWindow", "status=no, menubar=no width=730,height=550");
       result.moveTo(100,40);
    </script>
    <%
    endif.
    %>
    And in between <FORM> Tag Call This Function Like
        <script>
    call_help("<page Name.htm>?Key=<%= Key %>");
        </script>
    Do not use these code as u were using earlier
    onCellClick = "onCellClick"
    <htmlb:link id = "link"
    onClientClick = "return popitup('mat_move.do?key=11')">
    </htmlb:link>
    Do Remember to clear the SHOW_POPUP Flag on request of the page at each time.
    I think This will definitely help you , If you find any problem do revert back....

  • After installing FF 6.02 on Windows 7, the icon does not appear on the desktop and the program does not appear in the All Programs menu

    I just received a new laptop running windows 7 home premium and wanted to install Firefox on it. I tried to install the most recent version. When i installed 6.0.2, the icon did not appear on my desktop (it was a hidden file in my desktop folder) and the program group does not appear in the start menu's All Programs list. The program *does* run though, at least it did a few times. This happened whether i installed as administrator or not. Installing firefox 3.6.22, though, DID create the program group and desktop icon, and upgrading from there removed them again. installing other programs (e.g. vlc, trillian, etc.) did not cause this behavior. I also tried this both with and without McAfee's realtime protection running.

    Some people have found that an app (usually iBooks for some reason) hasn't appeared on a homescreen until after the iPad has been reset and has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    Also depending on what the app is have you got an age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ?
