Windows email vanishing off my iphone
Hi guys, I am having problems with e-mails just vanishing from my hotmail account on my iphone 4. It happens weekly and I'm not deleting them. My inbox and sent messages are affected and like I said It's not me deleting them. Really frustrating and not sure what's going on. Anybody else had this problem?
If the account is setup as pop the email server by default may only send it to the first device (iphone, computer) that is setup to receive them. You should be able to adjust this in your mail applications. On the iPhone you would go to Settings>Mail Contacts Calendars>Tap on the account, Tap on advanced and in the settings you can choose to keep on the server for a specific time period or to never remove unless deleted.

to be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work..
first thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo
if that doesn't work I would restore from backup and if that doesn't work I would restore as new if all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one.. -
An email sent from my iMac has a button linked to a clip hosted on Vimeo. When received, the link functions on iMac and iPad, but opens a window of app icons on iPhone and iPod touch. Any ideas what's wrong?
For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
Problem solved.
And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions. -

On a Windows PC the easiest way to get pictures from your iPhone is to just use Windows Explorer.
1) Plugin your iPhone to your PC
2) Open “My Computer”
3) Find your iPhone, it will appear as any other camera would
4) Open iPhone to find your Photos
5) Select the pictures you want to copy to your computer and copy/ paste them into the desired location on your PC. -

Welcome to the Apple community JB.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Just set up an email account on new iPhone. How do I stop it wanti g to download all 4,000 emails off my server and just download new emails?
You can go into settings, mail, contacts and calendars, and set your mail to only download the last 50.
When you actually set upthe account, you can go into any available advanced settings and see if that can be set to new mail only. Unfortunately, every mail provider had slightly different things they'll allow you to tweak, so you just have to play to see what you can do.
For example, when I set up my Yahoo, I have different things I can tweak than I do on my Hotmail account, so some accounts allow more ability to tweak than others. -
So I get an email in Outlook. I open it. I think, ok I'll deal with that later.
I go to find the same email on my iPhone and it's not there!!
The gist of my problem is, if I receive an email on my iPhone then subsequently view it in Outlook, it vanishes from my Iphone!
Useless!!

The original problem seems very strange, Outlook is obviously leaving a copy of the message on the server but the phone is not recognising it. Maybe the phone only retrieves unread messages. You could try marking the message as unread in webmail and see if it appears on your phone as an experiment.
