Windows Server 2003, permissions, username prompts, etc.

Hello all,
I have a unique situation that I need a lot of help with. I work in a prison and teach an introduction to computers course with 20 lab computers and 1 file server. The lab computers are all running Windows XP Professional and the file server is running Windows
Server 2003.
The way these lab computers are setup is with DeepFreeze so that any changes the inmates make to the computer is wiped clean 100% when the machine gets rebooted (this is a must have as some of these guys are quite nefarious and like to cause mischief for
no reason). I'd like to be able to setup the computers so that they work like this:
- Each of the student lab computers are all part of the domain
- When they login, they login with the generic "Student" account which is "Student" username and "password" password. This account exists on the domain and has absolutely 0 privileges.
- Upon login, a logon.bat script pops up a dialog box asking them for their personal username and password which will then, based upon their entry, map a network drive to their own personal folder.
The reason they need to login with a generic account first is because that generic account has already been configured on the computer with certain rights as to what they can and can't access as well as certain shortcuts and other stuff. In addition, it
has the Windows XP theme disabled and loads the classic theme instead as well as various other tweaks such as not grouping all taskbar items, showing all folders in the "detail" layout, not popping up the "desktop cleanup wizard", etc,
etc. That one user profile is configured exactly the way it needs to be for them to be productive. If I have them all login to the machines with their own username/password, all of those fine details would be lost, especially considering DeepFreeze and the
fact that it wipes out any changes they make to the computer.
Is it possible to have them login with the generic account and then once they login, get a login prompt so that they can work with their own user folders?
At first I had it setup so that they all had the "users" folder mapped, however any student could make any change they wanted to other student's folders. I'm getting pretty tired of having to go in and restore files for students because some other
inmate decided they wanted to delete all of that student's work.
Thanks everyone, and hopefully I can get some help in this matter.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
We can achieve the target by following the steps below:
1.Create a logon-stript file and named "logonsript.cmd".The content is:
if not exist "\\fileservername\sharefoldername\%username%" md "\\fileservername\sharefoldername\%username%"
if not exist h: net use h:
\\fileservername\sharefoldername\%username% /persistent:yes
Note:fileservername is the netbios name of your fileserver. All of Students' personal folders is in the sharefolder.
2.Assign the permissions to the sharefolder.
Cancel the option  of "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent".
Remove the group "Users" in the security TAB.
Give "full control" permissions to the group "creator owner" and apply to:"Subfolders and files only".
3.Edit GPO
Open Group policy object editor.
User configration--Windows Settings--Script(Logon/Logoff),
Double-click "Logon" on the right, click "Show Files" buttom, copy "Logonsript.cmd" to this folder, close this page.
Then click"Add..." buttom, click "browse" and choose the script file in the folder which the script file was copyed to.
Click "confirm".
When a student use the domian account to log in,a personal folder will be created automatically with "logon name" in your fileserver ,the person folder will be mapped as a dirve "H" automatically. Everyone can only access his/her own folder.
If the issue still exists, please feel free to let me know.

  • JNLP prompted to Save (only) in Windows Server 2003 SP1 over https

In Windows Server 2003 when using https to download the jnlp and jars, IE 6.0 prompts to Save the jnlp file. It does not give the option to open it straight from IE..
    The IE settings are:
Do not save encrypted files to disk - off/unchecked
Empty Temp Internet Files when browser is closed - off/unchecked
Using Apache and Tomcat5 with the Mime type set correctly to application/x-java-jnlp-file.
When using http, the jnlp launches web start just fine.
When using https on WinXP and Win2000, the jnlp launches just fine.
It seems to be a Win2003Svr/IE security check that will not allow the jnlp to be launched directly.
There have been a few mentions of this on the web, but no solutions have been posted that I could find.
I am using jre 1.4.2_06. I tried 1.4.2_08 because that WebStart security bug was fixed, but the same issue was occurring. It seems like IE is doing it.
It doesn't get to WebStart until after saving the file and then double clicking it.
I have tried most of the IE settings to see if they helped, but to no avail...

    Hello.
I'm glad someone brought this problem up.
We have about 1000 external customers using webstart for approx. 3 years with runtimes
varying from 1.4.1_XX to 1.5.0_XX. We have the same problem with some customers being prompted by a dialog and what to do with the JNLP file. When these customers try a testing link to a webstart app over HTTP they are not prompted. Only when using our business app. over HTTPS and with Internet Explorer. This behavior does not occur only in Win server 2003 but in several
OS from Windows 2000 , XP Home/Pro SP1 SP2 , Citrix Metframe ..you name it. We have known this for years now and not being able to do something about it since we can't reproduce it. All I know for sure is that IE is behind it all and it's not surprising since it is a part of the OS. When using other browsers like Mozilla or FireFox, it works fine.
The customers are now forced to save the JNLP file and launch the app that way. Not acceptable
Is there some registry change that someone knows of to correct this problem.

  • Directory Security Strange Permissions Issues (Windows Server 2003 running Active Directory)

I have a user that all of a sudden was not able to open 70% of her files located on a file server, Windows Server 2003 running Active Directory, from her laptop. The same user can access all the same files from a different machine, logging on with the same
credentials. Just looking for a point in the right direction and a possible theory as what could cause this problem, an why all of a sudden. I did go back through the logs but nothing sticks out. For the most part the logs on the server and the laptop are
    pretty clean.
Both machines are Latitude E5420s running Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1. Both machines are 64bit and connect to the network via hard-wire, not wireless.
    Thanks in advanced.

I would recommend proceeding that way:
Check that your DCs are in a healthy state and AD replication is fine: It might be that the user is member of security groups and the membership is not getting replicated properly which can cause this random behavior. You can use
dcdiag and repadmin for checks and you can refer to my recommendations here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/18513.active-directory-replication-issues-basic-troubleshooting-steps-single-ad-domain-in-a-single-ad-forest.aspx
Make  sure that the file server is reachable from the user client computer. Start with
ping and nslookup. Also, you need to make sure that the traffic between the client and the server is not blocked or filtered. You might want to temporary disable security software for testing

  • Unable to bind MacBook Pro (running 10.6 - Snow Leopard ) to Windows Server 2003 domain

Hi there, I've been working on this problem for a few hours now (and a few hours last Thursday) and don't feel I'm getting anywhere, so I'm reaching out for help....
My organisation has just purchased a new MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6) and as a Technical Support Engineer I have been asked to configure it for an end user.
I am currently trying to join it to our corporate domain, which is a Windows Server 2003 domain operating at the Windows Server 2003 Native domain functional level.
The MacBook is configured to use DHCP, and has been assigned valid IP address, DNS servers etc by the DHCP server. It can resolve all names on our network, including the names of our domain controllers. When I use nslookup to resolve the name of the domain "my_domain.local" it returns a list of DC's on the domain, which would indicate to me that name resolution is working perfectly. It is using our primary DNS server, 'Ponus' to resolve these names - Ponus is also the Domain Controller in this site.
To attempt to join the MacBook to the domain I have created a computer account for it on the domain, in the Computers container. I have gone into System/Library/Core Services and run the Directory Utility.
In the directory Utility I have ticked Active Directory and clicked on it to edit. The 'Forest' field is greyed out and set to 'Automatic', in the 'Domain' field I have entered my_domain.local, which is the FQDN of my domain. I click Bind and when prompted enter my Domain Admin username and password (in the 'Create Computer Account in:' field it displays correctly as CN=Computers,DC=my_domain,DC=local.)
When I click OK I get the message: Invalid domain. An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com).
I have attempted writing the domain as my_domain.local, my_domain.local., MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL and MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL. but I get the same error each time. I have checked and rechecked DNS is resolving OK, and cannot see why it cannot find the Domain and Forest from the FQDN that I am entering. Even so I tried creating records in the hosts file on the MacBook to point to the main Domain Controller at this site (Ponus) but this didn't change anything.
I have seen a few people report the same issue online but the responses tend to fizzle out before anyone gets to the bottom of it. I have seen some indication that people with an understore (_) in their domain name, or with a .local domain name may experience issues with joining Mac hosts, however these details are very vague and if true there must be a workaround.
If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it, I'm running out of time to complete this work and have run out of things to try.
I have an inkling that this is due to the Mac for some reason not reading the SRV records for the DCs and LDAP in DNS, or to do with the Mac looking only at one SRV record (ie. there is one for a new DC that we haven't deployed yet), not being able to reach this and giving up, but I'm clutching at straws really with my limited knowledge of the Macs process for joining the domain.
    Many many thanks,

    Hi there,
A simple suggestion , please make sure both MacBook Pro clock and the server clock are the same meaning the hour/Min/ sec both should match. A least difference of 3 seconds is fine.
I had faced this problem in many place and only solution was to match the time and it will bind immediatly.

  • Several folder shares on Windows Server 2003 R2

I have serious problems at one of our clients. They just switched from PC's to iMac's and MacBook Pro's. The backup platform is a server running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 and there are several shares on this server.
Some of these shares should only be accessible by normal employees and others only to management etc.
When connecting to the shares from OSX all folders are visible even when creating a different layout with user access lists for each folder.
Is there any way of fixing this issue?
    Example
    Share Users - Access Everybody
Share Admin - Access Network Administrator
    Share Administration - Access Management
All this worked perfectly on the Windows setup!

I have the same problem on our PC networ with PC servers. Several departments have converted to using Macs and they are able to mount to shared drives and see everything in it. My question now - is there a way to be able to access a windows shared folder for ALL USERS WITHOUT the share getting mounted on the Mac desktop?
If I created an alias of a particular Mac app or file on the Mac desktop that is stored on a Windows shared folder for all users. How can that alias work for ALL USERS without having to prompt for a uname and password and/or mounting the whole volume to the desktop?
I'm not happy with Macs running on our network but I don't have a choice on this.

  • User-changeable Passwords issue f/ ACS 4.0 on Windows Server 2003

I am having an issue with the UCP website not functioning correctly. I have installed it from the ACS 4.0 CD, following the instructions from the Cisco.com website, but cannot get past the Login page. Users can get to the Login page, but after they enter their information (username / password) and click Login, the server returns the following error page: "CGI Error. The apecified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers."
I cannot get past this page. I have verified that the website is installed as outlined in the Cisco procedure, and have re-installed twice to verify. I have granted Everyone Write and Execute permissions to the site directories, and granted the Virtual Directories Script and Executable access.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I am evaluating ACS 4.0 for deployment in our company, and UCP not working is a major stumbling block.
    Additional configuration information:
Windows Server 2003 SP1, patched current to 8/29/06
The ACS server is also running on this server; it was installed and tested first, before installing UCP.
    Thanks,
    John

Change the user that runs CSusercgi.exe to Administrator.Refer the following steps Install UCP 4 on a machine that runs IIS server,Open IIS manager,Locate Default Web Site, Double click on the virtual name 'securecgi-bin',Right click on CSusercgi.exe and choose Properties,Choose 'File Security' tab,Choose 'Edit' in 'Authentication and access control' area,Change username from IUSR_ to 'Administrator' and enter his password.

  • I am trying to remote into a Windows Server 2003 from a Windows 7 machine and having issues

I am trying to remote into a Windows Server 2003 from a Windows 7 machine.  It says "The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections".
My first stop in trying to solve this problem was here:
    [URL="http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/command-line-hack-for-terminal-server-has-exceeded-the-maximum-number-of-allowed-connections/"]howtogeek.com[/URL]
    And it says:
    [I]
[INDENT]This problem happens because Windows only allows two remote terminal services connections when you are in administrative mode, and you’ve either got two people already on that server, or more likely, you’ve got a disconnected session that still thinks
    it is active.
The problem with this error is that you have to actually get on the server console to fix the problem if the server isn’t in a domain. ([B]If you are in a domain, then just open Terminal Services Manager and log off or disconnect the sessions[/B])[/INDENT][/I]
So it seems to suggest that all I have to do really is to run the  Terminal Services Manager but I cannot find it.
This web site from mssqltips.com [URL="http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/1981/remote-desktop-error-terminal-server-has-exceeded-the-maximum-number-of-allowed-connections/"](click here)[/URL] says all I need to do is first execute "mstsc /
admin" from the command line.  But, when I do that, I get a message when I try to remote to the server, that says this: "To log on to this remote console session, you must have administrative permissions on this computer".
So, what now?  What do you suggest?

    Hi Bobby,
Yes, it is by design. By default, Windows Server only accepts two concurrent administrative sessions (Administrative Mode). It means that only two administrators can work on the server at
    the same time.
If you would like more concurrent sessions, you need to purchase RDS CALs, install Terminal Services related server roles with proper configurations on the server.

  • Windows 7 x64 can't read/install any printer drivers from Windows Server 2003 x64 (AMD64 folder and HP Deskjet 855c)

I read the thread Widows 7 printer
HP deskjet 855c driver about possible installation of HP855c drivers onto Windows 7 x64 from "Windows Server 2003 x64" CD but I didn't have enough luck to succeed with doing it on my laptop. That thread appears to be dead now
as it is marked "Answered", so I'm asking for help here. I have Toshiba Satellite P500 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (http://i55.tinypic.com/2zgth6v.jpg).
Let me tell you first that I don't have access to Windows Server 2003 x64 or XP Pro 64 CD's. However I did some research online, which eventually forced me to learn about the "file sharing". After extensive search I was able to get the copies
of AMD64 folders from Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 with SP2 and
XP Pro 64. The reason that I went also after XP Pro was because I thought that the extra wording "R2 Standard x64 with SP2" in description of "Windows Server 2003" did not reflect the exact name provided by poster
Alan. I couldn't find just "Windows Server 2003 x64" (does it matter?).
Anyway, I followed first the drill with running "printui /s /t2" and disabling UAC, and then in both cases I was able to locate the
NTPRINT.INF file (http://oi51.tinypic.com/9qwvt2.jpg - this image is from XP Pro AMD64 folder) but each time when I
attempted to install the driver, I got the same message stating:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software drive for your device. If the folder contains the driver, make sure it's designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems." (http://oi53.tinypic.com/27yveiw.jpg)
    Why aren't there x64 drivers?
During several installation attempts I had the printer connected to or disconnected from my laptop. It didn't make any difference. I must add that for this purpose I had to use different cable than the original one designated only for the
Parallel port in my old desktop with Windows XP. My new laptop with Windows 7 x64 came only with 3 USB ports (plus 1 HDMI and 1 Serial). Because of that situation I bought in advance a new printer cable called “USB to 36-pin Parallel Port Adapter
Cable” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A8I75E). I'm not sure, if it will work until I can install the printer.
Besides, nobody talked about this issue yet. I was also playing with the port choices in "Add printer" step; changing from default LPT1 to USB001 with the same negative results.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was very hopeful after reading positive "case closed" notes there.
Can anyone help me here, maybe by making the necessary files available for download? I'm willing to pay for such assistance or make a donation, if necessary. Seriously. Judging by the large number of views of the original
thread, one could assume that there is a potential demand for such service. It would be more human to pay few bucks for a few driver files than $900 for the whole Windows Server 2003 x64 CD, no? Can Microsoft accomodate me/us, please? :)
    Andrew*
P.S. I was advised to come for help here from
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-x64-cant-readinstall-any-printer-drivers/4e7d06e1-33a5-4597-be70-4fdc087a63a7?msgId=9a045994-0d31-4d40-b17d-dba372393ee4

I have my HP 855c/driver working on Win 7 Ultimate x64. I used the 'printui /s' procedure and 4 files described above with some minor changes.
I pulled WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe down from the Microsoft website. Running the file causes the exe to unpack into a temp folder at the root drive. A 'Setup Error' message box is displayed once the file is run. I left this
message box up until I copied ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, and sp2.cab from the temp folder.
I copied driver.cab from a Windows XP Pro disc. I also needed amd64\stdnames.gpd which was already in my Windows 7 c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder.
I created a folder with the 5 files (ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, sp2.cab, driver.cab, and amd64\stdnames.gpd). This is my 'Have Disc' folder.
I followed the 'printui /s' instructions, first changing the permissions mentioned above and then installing the driver. Next I followed the instructions to add a printer from Control Panel 'Devices and Printers' - 'Add Printer', choosing to 'use an existing
driver' when installing the HP 855c.
I used a slightly different ntprint.inf, size 1570418. The readable contents of ntprint.inf is as follows. Notice the line 'CatalogFile=ntprint.cat' is not included. I tried using the 1570468 version of ntprint.inf; when I did I received an incompatibility
message (probably the same one mentioned above).

  • HP Cloud Print Driver for Windows Server 2003?

    Hello,
I have a unique (complicated) situation that I am trying to find a solution for.
    Here is the deal,
My company is trying to set up a temporary remote branch location inside a building where we are unable to wire a network. Our solution is to use a wireless hotspot. Connected to this hotspot, we will have an iPad and an HP Laserjet M525.
The iPad will be connecting to our Citrix environment over VPN through Citrix Receiver to deliver a desktop interface to the iPad. This is needed to access a few applications that are used at the branch.
The problem now is printing, AirPrint wont work because the iPad is on VPN (and its at a windows interface, not the iPad's).
I had the idea of using the HP printers built in ePrint function to print, so I set that up. So now sending at email to [email protected] prints to the HP printer attached to the wireless hotspot.
Emaling to print works, but ideally, I would like this printer to show up in the Windows Devices and Printers, so that the user can just click print, choose the HP printer, and it will print, (with a delay obviously as its sending an email).
So I downloaded the HP ePrint Windows Driver, which has to be installed on the main Citrix servers so that the users session can grab the printer and use it, turns out the driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003.
My first attempt at a workaround was Google Cloud Print, which was fairly simple to connect to HP ePrint, but apparently the Google Cloud Print Driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003 either.
Is there a version of the HP ePrint Driver out there that works on Windows Server 2003?
    tldr:
I would like to print to a remote HP printer that is connected to a wifi hotspot from our internal network. I need whatever software I download to be compatible with Server 2003.
I understand this is over complicated but thanks for any input.

I believe I understand your issue.  You would like to use a print driver to print to your HP ePrint enabled printer from your apps that are hosted by Citrix server.  While I believe this makes perfect sense, HP does not have a print driver that officially supports MS TS or Citrix that also supports the ePrint Cloud path.  The reason for this is the ePrint windows driver is a "dynamic" print driver (similar to HP UPD dynamic mode) that handles multiple print paths (tcp/ip, wireless direct, cloud, etc) in a single driver instance by dynamically changing the port the print queue is bound to so the port is specific to the delivery path.  For example, if printing to a network printer it will use a MS Standard tcp/ip port.  If printing to the ePrint cloud a custom port is used, etc.  Well, if you have lots of Citrix users trying to print to a single print queue, but to different destinations, the users would be colliding with each other when they print by having the driver trying to change the print queue to different print ports at the same time.
What you could do is install an ePrint print queue on the citrix server if you can control the access to that queue to just your local branch users.  Also, if you only have on ePrint enabled printer the situation is even better as only one port will be needed by that queue.  You can find the ePrint software at www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware   You might want to download the version of the driver that supports XP as Windows 2003 is very similar print system.
NOTE:  this is not a supported environment for this driver.  You would be using it without warrenty or support and no promises are being made here.
Good luck if you choose this path and please post back the results.  Thanks!

  • Access Denied to report file on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise

    Hi,
I have a deployment problem for which I am out of ideas. I have an ASP.NET web site deployed on a server running Windows Server 2003 R2, sp2.  It makes extensive use of Crystal Reports, including both displaying them and e-mailing them to specified recipients as PDF files. It all works great.
Now I need to port the web site to a different server, running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, sp1. The reports display fine as long as I am not trying to convert it to PDF for e-mailng. When it gets to the following line in my code:
    MemoryStream memStream = (MemoryStream)rptDoc.ExportToStream(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
    It reports the following error:
Access denied.Error in File JobDetails {DC64A5D3-9DD7-4E4C-90F5-A08731409B29}.rpt:
Access to report file denied. Another program may be using it.
I finally got it to work by granting Modify permission to Everyone for the c:\Windows\Temp folder. Obviously this is not a good practice.  Granting Full Control  to the IUSR_servername account did not solve the problem on Windows Server Enterprise, although it did the trick on R2.
So the question is, which account needs which permission to the Temp folder to enable the PDF to get written?
    Thanks.
    Dan

What ever account the app is running under will need read / write permissions on the temp folder. Your working server should be a good place to look to see how the premissions were set there. The same will apply to any other server(?).

  • How do I add a Mac to a Windows Server 2003 or 2008 domain?

I recently started working for a public school district that runs Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 R2. There are several faculty members, myself included, that would like to get their Macs onto the domain and capable of file sharing, printing to network printers, etc. I cannot find decent instructions anywhere. Could someone please point me in the right direction or give me some directions? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm also new to the MAC world - I trust you were able to join the MAC's to the domain - I finally figured it out. However, I have not been able to get the MAC's to save to the Windows 2008 server where I have student folders setup. Have you been able to do this? If so can share the info with us.
    Thanks,

I don't have a similar machine to look at so this is a bit of a guess:
Per page 30 or your user's guide http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g400sg400stouchg500sg500stouchg405sg505s_ug_e...:
How can I start the BIOS setup utility?
To start the BIOS setup utility:
    1 Shut down the computer.
2 Press the Novo button and then select BIOS Setup
There should be a tab labelled something like "Configuration" and on that page something like "SATA controller mode".  Select "compatible" and save and exit.
I'm not certain this will fix your problem, but it's worth a try.

  • Connecting iPads to an Enterprise Wireless 802.1x (EAP-TLS) Network Using Windows Server 2003 IAS

    Hi there,
I am asked to deploy iPads on an 802.1x EAP-TLS WiFi network. The customer has a Windows Server 2003 IAS server providing RADIUS. There also is a Windows based CA infrastructure in place. This solution is in production and is already being used by other wireless devices. Could someone please highlight the configuration steps for the iPad deployment? The customer whishes to automate the initial deployment and the renewal of the certificates. I have a basic understanding of 802.1x, RADIUS, Certificates etc. in a Windows infrastructure but I am new to enterprise deployment of iPads. There is no MDM tool in place by the way...
I did find a Microsoft article which I think describes what needs to be done: http://blogs.technet.com/b/pki/archive/2012/02/27/ndes-and-ipads.aspx. This article basically states the following steps:
    1. Create a placeholder computer account in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
    2. Configure a Service Principal Name (SPN) for the new computer object.
    3. Enroll a computer certificate passing the FQDN of the placeholder computer object as a Subject Name, using Web Enrollment Pages or Certificates MMC snap-in directly from the computer (Skip step 4 if you are using the Certificates MMC snap-in)
    4. Export the certificate created for the non-domain joined machine and install it.
    5. Associate the newly created certificate to the placeholder AD DS domain computer account manually created through Name Mappings
The article then elaborates on specific steps needed for the iPad because it treats all certificates as user certificates. Can someone confirm this behavior??
    Regards,
    Jeffrey

Use VPP.  Select an MDM.  Read the google doc below.

    Hi
    1. Did you delete tmp and cache after patching
    2. Did you clear the cached files in your browser post patching
    3. Generally the first time you access the system it takes time but the consquent attempts should not take much time.
    4. Did you increase the Java heap
         ex: HFMWeb
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\HFMWeb0\HyS9FinancialManagementWeb_epmsystem1
                    JVMOption21 | - Xms2048m
                    JVMOption38 | - Xmx2048m
    Next,
When you are accessing the HFM Application please monitor the task manager and let us know the CPU and Physical Memory utilisation.Monitor the HSVDatasource.exe process .
How much RAM do you have on your server and how many applications/components are hosted on that server?
    Thanks
