Windows x64 Deployment Issue works in /debug

I'm seeing a strange issue where my natively created JavaFX exe fails when I try to run it on a Windows 7/. It was failing silently, so I started it with "/debug" appended afterwards to show what was happening. To my great surprise, the program works fine when run this way!
When I start it up on my Windows 8 machine, it crashes, complaining about a buffer overflow:
Problem Event Name:     BEX64
Has anyone run into this issue?

To be clear, my App does not take command line arguments. The /debug argument is a Windows thing that forces the exe to spit output to the console. I'm still at a loss for why this would make a difference in whether the app would run or not.
Can someone point me into some Windows tools to point to the issue for the BufferOverflow? I've been using ProcessMonitor, but without any success.

    I've just download the jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe and jdk-6u30-windows-x64.exe and tried install them on my window 7 professional service pack 1 platform, but both installations failed with the error message "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application" and "...\jdk-7u3-windows-x64.exe is not a valid win32 application". However, when I install with the jdk-6u26-windows-x64.exe and jdk-7-windows-x64.exe, it's fine. Please help me how to fix the issue to update the new java package.

  • MDT windows 7 Deployment issue with Network driver

    I am deploying windows 7 64bit using MDT 2010. the PC I am deploying to is HP proDesk 600 G1 SFF, and the NIC card is intel (R) I217.
    When I deploy the customised image, there is no problem during the WinPE stage, I can press F8 and run ipconfig /all to see all the NIC details, which means the correct driver is injected to the PE image.
    The issue comes after the OS installation completes, after rebooting into the system and auto login as admin, the error pops up indicating no connection to the deployment share, it is actually the NIC driver not installed!
    I checked the Hardware ID, it is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_18E7103C&REV_04
    I can find this ID in drivers.xml under deploymentshare/control, I believe this indicates there is a driver available for it.
    but in the deployment log ztidrivers.log, it shows
    <![LOG[Skipping Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A&SUBSYS_18E7103C&REV_04 No 3rd party drivers found. 11]LOG]!><time="09:21:02.000+000" date="05-07-2014" component="ZTIDrivers" context="" type="1"
    thread="" file="ZTIDrivers">
    I can install the driver manually with no issues.
    I downloaded different versions of the driver and tried hundred times but result is the same.
    anyone can point me to the right direction? I have been struggling with this for quite a while.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You should inject driver to install image which will finally present in system you installed.
    Hope this helps.

  • ANT Deployment issue. works fine in one environment but fails in other

    Hi,
    Ant script is working fine in Dev environment but is failing in the other environment. Somehow the BPEL server is not able to pick the latest deployed process , due to this the dependent BPEL processes are failing. If we restart the server , it moves forward and then fails at the point where it couldn’t find reference to the processes deployed after restart. Restarting the server at every failed interval will deploy all the BPEL processes which is not the solution.
    example : we have BPEL Processes say A, B, C, D and E. A,B are independent processes C is dependent on A, D is independent and E is dependent on D. So I have Ant script to deploy in A,B,C,D,E order. Now I run the Ant Script: It deploys A,B processes and Fails at C saying it couldn't find the process A.wsdl(But A is deployed). So if i restart now it recognizes A and B are deployed so C is also deployed succesfully it also deploys D as it is Independent but fails at E. If i restart the server E is also deployed.
    The Environment is clustered.
    Any suggestion to make my Ant script to run at a go will be highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Krishna

    1. Is Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 certified to work on Oracle DB 11.1.0.6.0 (Microsoft Windows (x64)) ?
    2. Is Oracle Database 11.1.0.6.0(Microsoft Windows (x64) certified to work on Windows 7 Pro 64bit ?

    You also do realize Hyperion Planning/Essbase/... is not supported on Windows 7 Pro. If you wish to install on a supported operating system install on Windows 2003 Server x64.
    Yes, 11.1.0.6 is supported as a database for Hyperion 11.1.1.3 - review the certification matrices for Hyperion at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/hyperion-supported-platforms-085957.html
    No, Windows 7 is not a supported platform for 11.1.0.6 databas - review http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/install.111/b32305.pdf
    You can also located supported platforms with say 5 minute software with say 10 minutes of using google. If you do not have this much time to put towards the installation then you should not be installing as you should review all installation documentation before proceeding as it is at least a full day activity to do it properly (even after you have done it 20-30 times).

  • Windows 7 deployment- Local Admin password not working, no way to assign domain admins

    I have SCCM 2012 configured for OS deployment of a Windows 7 64x enterprise image. I am using boot media (cd) since PXE boot was not an option in this office. Deployment seems to work fine except that despite selecting "Enable the account and specify
    the local administrator password" I cannot login to the imaged system as Administrator. I tried several different passwords, and leaving the password field blank. Because of this I cannot add the domain admins as local admins and thus I cannot change
    any major settings on the PC. I have created multiple task sequences, redeployed the source files, tried two different machines (a desktop and a laptop) and have disabled or adjusted just about every part of the task sequence at least once.
    I'm pasting a recent SMSTS.log file, though it has an error 0x80070002 error in it I am not sure if this is related.
    Any suggestions on how to remedy this issue, or workarounds to assign local admins would be helpful. I have already tried adding in some command lines like "cmd /c net localgroup administrators /add "etoo\Administrators" and "cmd /c net
    localgroup administrators /add "localhost\username"" to various points in the sequence without any success.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/g3s520bwo8pv4kp/smsts.log
    Thanks

    I suspect that your keyboard layout isn't configured correctly so that's why your "Enable the account and specify the local administrator password" doesn't work, check the keyboard layout on the login screen of the client you're trying to log in to...
    There are several ways of adding local admins to the client during  OS deployment:
    "Apply the windows settings" -task sequence step
    unattend.xml (http://sybaspot.com/the-complete-guide-to-preparing-a-windows-7-deployment-image-using-audit-mode-and-sysprep-with-an-unattend-xml-answer-file/)
    "Run a commandline" -task sequence step, after the Setup Windows & ConfigMgr step (cmd /c net localgroup "Administrators" "domain\user" /add)
    And after OS deployment:
    Restricted groups group policy (http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles-tutorials/windows_os_security/Using-Restricted-Groups.html)

  • Mac sharing / windows 7 / permissions issues

    Dear all,
    I am new to anything mac, except for my iphone. Now I just bought a brand new mac mini, which I connected to my TV so I can watch movies, play my iTunes library, etc.
    The rest of my computers are all Windows 7 machines (laptops, work pc, etc.)
    I have permissions issue, which I can't seem to resolve. Here are the specifics:
    - I've created a folder in the root of my "Macintosh HD" called "NAS".
    - I've created a user on the mac called "tjeerdanne"
    - I have enabled sharing of the "NAS" folder and gave the user "tjeerdanne" read/write permissions
    - The main mac user is called "tjeerdkramer". I have also granted this (admin) user read/write permissions to this folder.
    - On any windows 7 machine, I can access the "NAS" folder just fine, using "tjeerdanne" as the user to connect. I can also read/write folders to it.
    - Now, when I am sitting behind my Mac again, I can see the folders newly created folders, but I can't access them (permission denied).
    My question is, how do I set it up so that the main Mac user can access all content written by the "tjeerdanne" share user?
    The strange this is, when someone with another mac connects to my mac-mini using the same credentials (tjeerdanne) he can also read/write (as expected) to this "NAS" folder, but the folders created by another mac, *can* be accessed by me, sitting behind my mac mini...
    Hope someone can help me out here...

    I have since attempted to boot from the Windows 7 install disk by using both the OS 10.6.3 System Preferences/Startup Disk and from within Windows XP using the Boot Camp Control Panel. In both cases, all I saw was a black screen with a “Select CD-ROM Boot Type” and flashing cursor. No keyboard input was possible.
    If anyone encounters this problem, go to the Boot Camp/Installation and Storage discussion and search for “Select CD-ROM Boot Type”. Hal Jay Greene has an excellent article here titled “Select CD-ROM Boot Type Error installing Windows 7 in Boot Camp walkthrough” dated Mar 20, 2010 that walks one through the process of creating a boot disk for installing Windows 7 x64. Two minor comments on his discussion. John Anderson’s blog is at www.AndersonsHatch.com (note extra s) and Imgburn can be downloaded free from www.imgburn.com.
    I used Mr. Greene’s procedure and the resultant boot disk loaded Windows 7 correctly.
    Unfortunately, a new issue arose. Installing Windows 7 over Windows XP requires a clean install that eliminates all Boot Camp installations. After installing Windows 7, I attempted to load Boot Camp by inserting the Mac SL installation disk and clicking on Setup in the Boot Camp folder. The result was this error message: “Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model”. Fortunately, there is a procedure that worked for me, and my MacPro, to bypass this error message. It can be found near the bottom of this article http://blog.andersonshatch.com/2009/01/11/windows-7-x64-on-a-macbook-pro-guide/ on John Anderson’s blog.

  • Oracle Express Database - Windows x64

    At the risk of being seriously repetitive, I'll post a question I have seen in various forms for approximately 3.5 years. The user community needs to have a specific, fact-based answer to the problem of no x64 support on Windows. In several threads one can find via Google, people purporting to be Oracle representatives claim a supported version will be available "soon". Soon in my neck of the woods generally means a time frame less than 3 years, but what do I know. Can someone please, please provide a definitive statement of direction on this issue, and assuming this is coming "soon", it would be overwhelmingly wonderful to have a specific date. My company plans/desires/hopes to release software that would embed an Oracle Express db, and frankly I'm about to throw in the towel if I can't get some visibility to this question. As I've heard from many ex customers, "there's always Sql Server".
    Regards, Roger Carter, President, DBConnect Solutions, Inc.

    Thanks for the update. I followed up with Oracle internally via our Oracle Partnership channel, and they checked with the VP of development responsible for XE. The official response is "there is no date where this will be provided for Windows x64. It is, however, under consideration." In my 25+ years of working with Oracle, I will give you my translation - it is not going to happen anytime soon, and to your point, it will probably be version 12 before you see anything. For us, this is a huge disappointment, and it means we will be abandoning many thing with Oracle. It's my view that they don't care about this vertical one bit.

  • Client installation on Windows x64

    Hi,
    We have a server running Windows 2003 Server x32, with Oracle version 10.2.0.1.0.
    We have a terminal server running the 10.1.0.2.0 client, which connects to it perfectly.
    We have built a new Windows Terminal server, running Windows x64. We are having some issues getting the client to work. Firstly, we installed from win32_11Gr1_client. The connection worked fine, but when we ran the third party app that we utilise, it continually gave us connection issues, and the third aprty advised we needed the 64 bit edition of the client.
    We installed that, but couldn't get a connection at all. The app uses a Windows ODBC connection, and the x64 client only let us create 64 bit ODBC connections that our 32 bit application can't utilise.
    At that point, we were asked to install the 32 bit client. Using the 10.2.0.1 x32 client install, the application fails to connect at all, using the same (we copied the file) tnsnames.ora, which I'm guessing comes down to some difference in the ODBC package, as I'm aware the clients are supposed to be cross version compatible. I CAN connect from SQLPLUS, but the app just says "connection failed".
    Any of the following bits of advice would assist with our problem:
    - How can we install the x64 client, and create ODBC connections that an x32 app can utilise?
    - Why doesn't the 10.2.0.1 client (same version as the server) appear to want to talk to the server?
    The vendor is unfortunately of a position that we are effectively on our own, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • ClickOnce and a System.Windows.Interacticity.resources issue

    Hi,
    I'm publishing my wpf app with clickOnce. I have put all the stuff like dlls, reference, prerequisites and so on.
    But, when I try to install it to a virgin virtual machine, it says me that I need the System.Windows.Interacticity.resources version 4.0.0.0.
    I use the  System.Windows.Interacticity.dll in my project, but I've never used the .resources. If I try to use the System.Windows.Interacticity.dll version 4.5 instead of 4.0... nothing changes!!
    How can I include System.Windows.Interacticity.resources with clickOnce or exclude it?
    I have System.Windows.Interacticity.resources in my bin/debug folders, but if I try to include it, it gives me a nullPointerException error.
    I have tried a lot of other forums/discussions/tickets, but still nothing worked for me.
    NOTES: updating my project with dlls and prerequisites, the System.Windows.Interacticity.resources began necessary. Before, it wasn't in this way.
    Can I ignore it? or, how can I include it?
    I saw it in the /bin  folder, inside the folders with the language name (en, de, fr, it..). But if I try to refer to one of these System.Windows.Interacticity.resources,
    it gives me nullPointerException.
    This error is stopping my installer, so it is a big problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Piero

    but i think...my estion is fairly simple and straight forward...and i've provided every detail of my problem(if uv'e read my opening post of this thread)....
    and as far as that link goes...i've already checked it b4 u guys mentioned it... as it is provided right there in the tutorial i've provided link of...
    and i've tried my options b4 making use of this forum...and i didnt find a solution that's why i'm taking ur help..
    nevertheless...i repeat my question...
    there's a tutorial at this link...[http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/gui-db.html]...in it is described how to create a java desktop database applicaiton...
    at the end of the tuorial there is a section called: "Building and Deploying the Application"
    in that section they have instructed to exit netbeans IDE and try and run the application outside it...which is not happening
    the reason they say is that i've to start Java DB from outside of the IDE...that is wat my problem is ..
    i dont know how to start Java DB from outside the Netbeans ide...You are not telling us anything.
    If I tell you "my automobile doesn't work" how do you know what is wrong. Instead I need to tell you one of the following.
    1. The engine didn't start.
    2. The wheel fell off.
    3. The engine caught fire.
    4. When I went to the driveway the car wasn't even there.
    When you "run" something then something happens. When I run notepad from a console window if notepad is not in the path then I will get an error about command not found. if it is in the path then the command executes and notepad pops up. Even if I don't see notepad pop up I know that the command seemed to execute from the command window.
    The above are examples of describing what you did and what did happen. In detail.
    "It doesn't work" provides neither detail about how you ran it nor what did happen when you did attempt to run it.

  • Deployment issue: compatiblity issue with ODP, instant vs full client on PC

    After a lot of deployment issues with full client, we thought we had the solution with Instant Client.
    It worked great for a while, but now some of our users have full Oracle 11 client installed after installing our Instant Client because of other software that requires full client.
    As soon as they install full client, our Instant Client breaks:
    Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (mscorlib)
    The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleClientFactory' threw an exception.
    The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client (Oracle Data Provider for .NET)
    Our instant client is compiled with 2.111.6.20, the client is installing a different version (though I tried installing exactly same version does not seem to work either)
    I've been experimenting to redirect the version to another assembly but no success.
    How can I make Instant Client and Full client co-exist? The whole idea of using Instant was to be independent of other software who needs ODP.NET...
    What do you do when 2 apps need different versions of ORacle ODP.NET (e.g. 2.111.6.0 vs. 2.112.1.0)?
    Note that I don't have source code access to "our" app, so if it is at all possible through configuration, that is a prefered solution.
    I also don't control our customers deployment strategy, they roll out apps over 1000's of PC's

    According to documentation at [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20434_01/doc/win.112/e23174/featConfig.htm]
    >
    Configuration File Support
    For customers who have numerous applications on a computer that depends on a single version of ODP.NET, the Windows Registry settings for a given version of ODP.NET may not necessarily be applicable for all applications that use that version of ODP.NET. To provide more granular control, ODP.NET Configuration File Support allows developers to specify ODP.NET configuration settings in an application config, web.config, or a machine.config file.
    If a computer does not require granular control beyond configuration settings at the ODP.NET version level, there is no need to specify ODP.NET configuration settings through configuration files.
    The following is an example of a web.config file for .NET Framework 2.0 and higher:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <configuration>
    <oracle.dataaccess.client>
    <settings>
    <add name="DllPath" value="C:\oracle\bin"/>
    <add name="FetchSize" value="131072"/>
    <add name="PromotableTransaction" value="promotable"/>
    <add name="StatementCacheSize" value="10"/>
    <add name="TraceFileName" value="C:\odpnet2.trc"/>
    <add name="TraceLevel" value="63"/>
    <add name="TraceOption" value="1"/>
    </settings>
    </oracle.dataaccess.client>
    </configuration>

    hi Tokarq,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    If you're getting the "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" or "A media driver your computer needs is missing" error when installing Windows then you may want to check this microsoft article as it maybe caused by one of the following:
     - The installation DVD is removed during the setup process.
     - A low-quality DVD was used to create the installation DVD.
     - The speed at which the installation DVD was burned was too fast.
     - The DVD drive cannot read the media.
     - The ISO file is corrupted.
    In addition, you can also try these steps:
    1. If you downloaded the Win7 64-bit ISO from the microsoft website, verify that the ISO is not corrupted by comparing the MD5 / SHA1 Hash from the microsoft site. To get the hash, download and install the Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier and foillow this guide.
    2. If you're using a Win7 64-bit DVD installer, try to follow this guide on how to create a bootable Windows 7 64-bit USB installer and use the USB 2.0 port to install Windows.
