We have 4402 controllers with (6) 1242AP's and I'm wondering would it be beneficial to add a couple more AP's to our network to accomodate more users that are coming in or design for a new platform?

Depends on your budget. The most affordable WAP that only supports 802.11a/b/g is the 1130. If you want to support 802.11 a/b/g/n then you should be looking at the 1040.
Can onyone provide some insight not in depth but ballpark figures.
You need to ask your nearest authorized Cisco reseller. Get a quote from at least three of them so you know what you're up against.
If you still think they are pricey, then try Cisco Refurbished.

Design Help Needed Desprately

Okay... I am trying to solve this problem but no ideas are popping into my head. I will explain my current design and if anyone has any solutions please let me know. The design may need to be reworked.
Currently I have an index.html page split in 3 (A left and right, but the left frame has a top and bottom)
The left top frame has input boxes. I am sending that information to a servlet that creates a webpage to go into the bottom box.
Based on the information that the servlet recieves I also want to update the bottom left with an image dynamically.
Any ideas.... Should I use JSP in anyway ?

getting the new imageOkay, someone at work told me this method... something like including the javascript inside the onload= of the HTML body tag of the right frame.. so when it loads the bottom left will reload. Can the bottom left page by a static HTML page, if so how will I change the picture. If I make it a jsp page or something I can just share a variable with the servlet ?

WAAS Design Help Needed - URGENT!

I am currently designing and implementing a WAAS solution for s client in their Data Center. It is deployment of a single Accelerator and one CM.
It has been decided that the WAAS accelerator (7341) will have its two NICs connected to two of their core switches (both 6500). The two core switches have a Layer 3 Etherchannel link between them and are running OSPF for network convergence (i.e. Layer 2 connectivity is not used).
I am facing a problem in the design, since I know that the Active/Standby configuration for the accelerator would require a redundant gateway via HSRP (at least) but this is not possible in a routed environment in the core switches. Furthermore, I am to run WCCPv2 for redirection.
Therefore, I am confused as to how to proceed in such a case considering that I can only configure one default gateway on the accelerator when I need high availability on two different subnets.
Please assist at your earliest.

Do WAE is configured for Standby interface and is this your Primary Interface as well? If answer is yes then see below
You will need a common VLAN for WAAS on both 65K swicthes in order for Active / Standby interface to work properly.
1: When using OSPF make sure your tcp flows has both ingress and egress flows transit from same switch
2: Use Generic GRE method for Egress under WAAS intercept configuration.
Since you are running WCCP each swicth will be able to redirect its TCP traffic via GRE Tunnel to WAAS and WAAS will send the packet back to the same swicth. This will ensure packet path is not modified when WAAS / WCCP is introduced.
Also make sure that you do not have any WCCP redirect on Layer 3 connection between 2 swicthes. Let me know if this helps.

Setting up HP L-7590 via usb to wireless router, help needed..!

Hi,
I have been using my L7590 via lan to a wireless router for a few years... that was perfrect...
Recently I had to change router because of change of ISP. The new router is a Huawei B683... the problem I have is that this router does not allow LAN connections from the router ...!! It does has a USB port that is for the printer...
I am unsure as to how I setup the printer connected via usb to the router....
Do I use the network installation setup...? Or do I use the USB setup...??
Any help is greatly appreciated...

Hi,
Connecting the printer to a router's USB port (aka. print server) will only allow you basic print functionality , it won't provide you any scan functionality, faxing from the computer, ink levels or any operation of the HP Solution Center program.
To get full functionality you must work with the provided functionality which means USB connection directly to a single PC or Ethernet connection to a router.. therefore using an Ethernet router will be the preferred solution for you.
In order to setup the printer as you described you should connect the printer to the USB port and go to Control Panel > System. click add a printer and add it through the network.. there might be a need to enter your wireless homepage to enable the printer through the USB, there might be additional setup information in there.. that veries between different print servers and you may contact Huawei support or your ISP for any assistant within the print server configuration.

Wireless design help

Hi guys........just have few qestions about designing WLC 5508
The scenario is that currently one of the client has a firewall Tiering T1 internet facing and T2 internal whioch has multiple DMZ connected.
T2 firewall has a DMZ switch connected which has a router which connects to MPLS cloud to different site across the country. (around 10 sites) all static routing.
Now the client is thinking to deploy wireless at all 10 sites using H-REAP. The issue is that client has only one WLC and they are not willing to buy other as i was thinking to deploy two WLC one for corporate and one for guest users. (one in internal network and on in DMZ)
Now my question is as follwow.
1- Keeping in mind that there is only one WLC where should i physically put it?
2- How guest users will work ? How the authentication will be done?
3-There are 8 SFP ports in WLC how physical topology will look like?
4-How many Vlans i have to make for wirless users will that be 10? (1 at each site) ?
my last question is that how these ports work on WLC are they just like swicth e.g one port can be assigned to different vlan....just confuse about interfaces and vlans on WLC (interfces concept)

I recently had to buy a new mifi hotspot, now my printer refuses to print. I'm running windows 8 and cannot figure out how to reconfigure the wireless settings on the printer. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm ready to throw it out and buy a new one!!!!!!

Wireless Router Help Needed! Please and Thank You

My warrenty has expired on my router, and Linksys is conveniently not able to help me get my router back on track. I have had the same problem several times, and have had the steps wrote down to fix it however, I have recently moved into a new place and conveniently lost the paper.
Usually it was a matter of just cloning my mac ID and it would work, in which I tired that with no success! Im frustrated and I need my internet for my schooling.
If anyone could help me it would be GREAT! Im not able to be on the internet to check so often as to if I have a reply on here, so if you feel you can help please call me!

First Connect the Modem to the Linksys Router on the Internet Port and then connect your Computer to the Linksys Router on the Port no.1.

Wireless to Wireless bridge help needed

Folks....
I think I am looking for a wireless to wireless bridge.
My next door neighbor & I are splitting the cost of a fast Internet connection. He is transmitting the signal to me (and to his home) using a WAP54G access point. I can pick up the signal in my yard, but not in the house (well, by one window only).
I want to:
1) receive his signal (wireless), AND re transmit it over my home.
2) I found a nice, high gain directional antenna and mounted it outside and pointed it to his WAP54G. I have run wire from it to the inside of my home.
3) I found a nice omni-directional antenna I have mounted on the top of my home and have run wire to the where the access point will live (this is also the place where the directional wire goes to.
4) I have both Macs and PCs which are wireless. When I take the computers outside the house, they can all connect just fine to my neighbors transmission.
My question:
I *think* (but I am not sure) I can both receive AND transmit from only one access point (say, WAP54G for example). Is this true?
If this is not true, what is a good wireless solution to my above problem? I can not run eithernet cable to my neighbors house. We like to video conference and I do not want to degrade the fast broadband signal. I want a 802.11G solution. A 802.11b solution would be too slow.
I have emailed and spoken to Linksys tech support, but they do not understand me well enough to help me. The emails from them are useless.
I have looking over all the Linksys Knowledge base but have not found the answer.
Can someone point me to a knowledge base about this, or web site, or anything?
I am pulling my hair out. Can someone toss me a bone?

There are several options you could use to do this. If you do a search for wireless CPE's you will find a HOST of Outdoor wireless directional antenna setups running POE so you can tap it RIGHT into any router you may have availible in your home. WRT54G/WRT54GS/Etc. The CPE will run you a pretty penny, but because you are so close to the source signal, I wouldnt suggest getting a CPE with anything more then 14dBi, Which is signifagntly cheaper. This CPE will allow you to run it in bridge mode, and feed it directly to your router. your neighbors router will see the CPE as just another wireless client, and wont even see the router behind the CPE. PRESTO! you have both a wireless internet connection from your neighbors house, but also your OWN independant WIFI solution in YOUR home! and the CPE's are capable of data transfers = to a T1 line, so dont worry about signal or speed degradation. IPhone 4S - Could not scan for wireless networks - help needed please

Can anyone offer any advice please.
My 4s has developed an wifi issue. It cant scan for wireless networks My bluetooth is intermittent also.
I have turned it on/off, rebooted, reset all networks, reset to factory settings, set to airplane mode, set to do not disturb - everything and all to no avail.
I am under a two year contract with Vodafone and went into their branch at Merry Hill, Dudley today and they failed to help me saying it was nothing to do with them.
I am at a loss as to what to do. I have not had any accident with my phone and it is still in mint condition.
Can anyone please offer any suggestions on what to do.

Apple's out-of-warranty policy is a feeble attempt at covering up it's issues and is a clear cut demonstration for their lack of respect for its user base. Their WIFI/Bluetooth dropping issues have been around for several years now and it started within the last 3 IOS updates. Apple engineers acknowledge this problem and don't have a solution yet... this was confirmed at the Genius Bar at their Nashua, NH outlet. My phone is 6 months passed warranty and my Verizon contract isn't up for renewal for another 6 months.
There are a lot of complaints about this (a LOT), yet Apple continues to stick its head in the sand instead of owning up to providing shoddy hardware and/or glitches software. They certainly don't want to be in the business of replacing phones, so they put the onus on us by charging $200 for a replacement... such a deal for Apple!
Apple's support communities are basically useless on this subject with a lot of screwy so-called solutions to work around their flaws. I've seen one fix where you heat up the phone with a hairdryer until the temp warning appears and then refrigerate it for 10 minutes... then BINGO, it's all fixed! Ya right!!!
Resetting network settings, or all settings (including a complete reset) is ineffective and appears to do nothing more than to further upset Apple users once they realize that they have wasted their time following Apple's so-called fix.
I just wonder if or when Apple pulls it's collective head out of the sand will they be able to see that their competition has surpassed them by leaps and bounds. There really isn't any good reason to stick with Apple now-a-days since their conscience passed away. Their competition offers superior technology while Apple continues to impress up with new connector technology and placement of their sockets.
I am finished with Apple and am incredibly sick of their spoon feeding what they want rather than what we want.
The best way to make Apple improve is to provide them with a taste of their own WIFI/Bluetooth offerings by DROPPING THEM!
They have abandoned us and have no problem trying to charge us to replace their flawed technology instead of doing the right thing!

JSP tags with java beans !! Design Help needed ..

I have three tables State,District,College.
My requirement is to get the fields from three tables one time from the DB and populate them with the JSP(so that the DB connections will not be much).
For that :::
I have designed to have three Beans StateBean,DistrictBean and CollegeBean.
Every row in State table will be a StateBean and will be added to an ArrayList called StateBeanList
similarly I got two other lists DistrictBeanList and CollegeBeanList.
And I am using application.setAttribute() to send all the information to the JSP by using RequestDespatcher..
When I run the servlet on tomcat it is getting OutOfMemory Exception in java Heap..Can I increase the heap size on tomcat ?
Apart from increasing the heap size I want to know good design...
My actual requirement is::: in the forwared JSP I need to populate state text field and after selecting state field I need to get the district fileds populated in other text filed, by the value of district field I need to populate college field... we can see it many websites...
Please suggest me the good design..

Op-amp circuit design help needed

Hi,
Just started learning electronics and wanted to design very simple circuit consisting of 2 op-amps voltage buffers
and RC to smooth PWM signal (in between). I am having difficulties in getting desired output. What I wanted to achieve is:
1) 500 Hz 5Vpp 2.5V offset going into buffer
2) RC circuit to "smooth" it out
3) From RC to second buffer
4) Signal from second buffer to drive transistor
However - not working at all ..... Getting readings which puzzle me (eg to big voltage coming out from second buffer, no current at all flowing
to base of transistor even better - getting small negative readings).
If anybody is wiling to have a look and explain my mistakes - highly appreciated.

I am an electrical engineer with 40 years of experience designing circuits, so I may be able to help. I do not have Multisim so I cannot see what is in the simulation.
1. I do not understand the excitation. The function generator XFG1 is set for Vp = 2.5 V and Voffset = 2.5 V, so I would expect a 5 V peak to peak signal centered on 2.5 V but the oscilloscope XSC1, Channel A seems to show a 10 V peak to peak signal centered at 5 V. Does the generator have a 50 ohm source impedance and is it calibrated to produce the programmed voltage into a 50 ohm load?
2. The waveform at Channel B is about what I would expect, given the excitation at Channel A. The rise time is consistent with the R1*C1 time constant.
3. What is the burden of the ammeters? Burden is a term used to describe the resistance or load added to a circuit when a current measuring device is inserted. Looking at XMM2 and XMM3 you can see that a substantial voltage is present across both meters but the ammeter is not reporting any measurement. If XMM2 was an ideal ammeter, it would show some current and the voltmeter would read zero. XMM5 is showing negative current which also seems unlikely.
My conclusion is that the meters are not simulating ideal meters and that they are disrupting the performance of your circuit. Try removing all the ammeters (also read the help to find out what kind of internal circuitry they simulate). Replace XMM2 and XMM4 with small resistors, perhaps 1 milliohm. Measure the voltages across the resistors and calculate the currents. Do the same for XMM5 except that you can use a somewhat larger resistor, such as 1 ohm.
Then you will find that Q1 is in saturation or has been destroyed. It might also destroy the amplifier.

ValueList JSF Wrapper design help needed...

I need some help here....
I am trying to write a JSF wrapper for valuelist (http://valuelist.sourceforge.net) which would use the backend integration already contained in ValueList to leverage as a JSF component.
In traditional implementation ValueListInfo could be reconstructed from request parameters. I am unclear how I can reconstuct ValueListInfo in the JSF way. I need a way to get the current page number the datatable is attempting to display to the procedure that returns the datamodel.

I have coded something that works the problem now is that there are 2 trips being made to db because in each request the model needs to be assigned to the datatable component and I can't see a way to tell model the current parameters so I can initialize with those parameters instead. Is there a way to do this short of making backing bean a session bean? Also I couldn't tell a way to cause wrap procedure to run after all the IoC injections have occured. Here is the code.
