Wireless Remote Server Issues

I have a wireless router set up with a home computer and while the desktop recieves the internet, my laptop is giving me the message that it is unable to connect to the remote server. In my network prefrences, it reads that I am connected to the network and am currently online, yet I am still unable to connect to the Internet. What is going on!!??

Yes, I had edited that file for the IP address and subnet mask.
We are installing CF9 on a devlopment machine this week so hopefully I'll have better luck with that.  If it does work, at least that will be more of a push to mangement to get going on CF9 in production as well.
I have given up on getting CFB to work with my MX7 server.  Very frustrating, but thankss for trying to help SpiderFromMars.  I really appreciate it.

    My company recently had an outside company create a homepage
    for us and it was turned over to me to create the rest of the
    pages. I am new at Dreamweaver and just can't figure out how to fix
    this problem. The woman who created the site for us has not been
    able to help me, either.
    Here is the problem:
    When I access the file "index.html" that she created in the
    "Files" panel and open it in Dreamweaver, it looks perfect, but
    when I hit F12 to view in IE, I lose all of the text in my column
    on the left. It seems to be an issue of images or something... we
    are not currently live with her hosting yet. Can I just continue to
    create pages and hope it will be okay once we go live?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Can you upload somewhere and post a link?
    Or at least post the entire page code.
    I am guessing it is an IE only problem having to do with the
    widths of your
    DIV's not fitting in the container
    IE counts differently than let's say Firefox.

  • Upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro from Windows 8 Pro causing issues with Remote Server Administration Tools

    Last night I received the Windows 8.1 update and it has caused Remote Server Administration Tools to stop working. I tried to reinstall the tools using Windows8.1-KB2693643-x64.msu but get the following error:

    I did have the Remote Server Administration Tools installed previously when I was running windows 8 pro and everything was fine. I've tried to remove the older version but according to the below it isn't even installed and Remote Server Administration
    Tools doesn't appear in Turn Windows features on or off.

    I’ve seen this issue in the past and it occurred because the file was corrupted. 
    It’s possible that something went wrong when downloading it originally on your newly upgraded machine. 
    Try downloading
    KB2693643 again from another machine and install it.

    I am not totally sure that error occurred by the authentication. But I suggest you can try to add this service into your project using this method below:
    1.right click the Reference and select Add Service Reference
    2.input your service link and click "Go"
    And you can use this service as the following:

  • We've encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner

    I have never downloaded Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite/Photoshop basically anything for myself before and have just bought the Creative suite (£15.88/month) and am trying to install it to my computer (Windows 8). I have downloaded the Creative Cloud Set-Up but am unable to get any further than this. When I click on the download, it looks like it is going to download (Adobe Installer, Downloading Creative Cloud desktop and a loading bar) but then it tells me it has encountered the following issues: The remote server is not responding in a proper manner.
    Now, I have been looking online for a solution and I saw something about changing an OOBE file in Program Files x86>Common Files>Adobe and at first there was no OOBE file so after more looking I thought I might have to download the Adobe Application Manager, which I did, but that doesn't work either, it just says unable to Reach Adobe servers, check internet connectivity (don't think there is anything wrong with this, I've not had any ther problems with internet connectivity) and firewall settings (i disabled the firewalls).
    So I really have no idea what to do, the forums and help sites are confusing and none of the suggestions appear to work?!

    I need to execute powershell on servers behind firewall, i set server to use 8530 port (which we opened for patching) so i can reach DMZ server from Non-DMZ via 8530.
    Below commands Configured on DMZ Server

    Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot process the request.
    The following error occured while using Kerberos authentication: The network path was not found.
    Possible causes are:
     -The user name or password specified are invalid.
     -Kerberos is used when no authentication method and no user name are specified.
     -Kerberos accepts domain user names, but not local user names.
     -The Service Principal Name (SPN) for the remote computer name and port does not exist.
     -The client and remote computers are in different domains and there is no trust between the two domains.
    After checking for the above issues, try the following:
     -Check the Event Viewer for events related to authentication.
     -Change the authentication method; add the destination computer to the WinRM TrustedHosts configuration setting or us
    e HTTPS transport.
    Note that computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be authenticated.
      -For more information about WinRM configuration, run the following command: winrm help config. For more information,
    see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.

    A TCP connection to a router is established using an IP address. Using the host name is valid only when you are initiating an rcp or rsh command from a local router. To allow a remote user to execute rcp or rsh commands on a local router, you must create an entry for the remote user in the local authentication database.     In sqlldr infile parameter I'd like to give a data file that exists on remote server.How can I specify???Please help me in the syntax.

    sqlldr can accept any path that is VALID and it can be any type of share as long as the OS supports the share.
    so INFILE can be anything you want as sqlldr will simply attempt to access it via the OS.
    if you are on a linux box going to another linux box with an NSF mount point on the box running sqlldr simply reference:
    INFILE '/mountpoint/fname'
    Now I have never tried a UNC path before but I would guess that if you are on a windows box, going to another winddows box and the box running sqlldr was logged in with the right permissions it would simply be:
    INFILE '\\server\directory\file'
    I doubt that it will accept a URL as in:
    INFILE '//servername.com/directory/file'
    I don't think that sqlldr does anonymous ftp or htp file transfer protocol, but I could be wrong.
    NOTE: I have found that it is best to ALWAYS surround your INFILE parameter with single quotes.

    I have an application on one of the remote server which is running on Windows Server 2003.
    I would like to execute this application from another remote server (also running on Windows Server 2003). I am able to browse the application path using "\\", but when double clicking on the application
    gives "you may not have appropriate permission to access the item"
    How do I set the permission & what permission is required?

    Is this a single exe file, or is it part of an installed application with exe, dlls, registery settings, etc?
    If this is an installed application, you cannot run it like this. That would be like trying to start microsoft office which is installed on a different computer.

  • Installation issue - using a remote server without using remote desktop or citrix

    Hello Experts..
    We have a client who wants to install SAP Client (SAP 9 PL 11) in their local machines, but connecting to a remote server. They want to avoid connecting through Remote Desktop or Citrix.They already installed SAP clients in local pc's and when they select the server, they already configured it to a server located overseas. We succed on achieve the connection, but the performance is really poor (sometimes it takes about 2 minutes to open a simple menu in SAP).
    We ran internet speed tests in the client's office and in the server, and both results were more than satisfactory. But we couldn't come up with a reason for this enviroment works properly..
    The question is... Is this kind of enviroment supported by SAP?? Do you know about any alternative to connect from the local PC to a remote server without using remote desktop or citrix??

    Hi,
    I assumed you are using VPN connection right?
    In your scenario that is normal since the GUI of SAP B1 is not built for type of connection compare
    to SAP ERP GUI.
    The only SAP supported type of remote connection is either Terminal Server or Citrix.
    In our own scenario we are using Terminal Server and we are very satisfied. We have used
    this between to different cities. This is also prevents data corruption cause by intermittent
    internet connection.
    Hoping you will be convinced of using Terminal Server or Citrix.
    By the way, a quick question, why are you hesitant to use RDC or Citrix?
    For overview, if your remote requirement is just simple and basic you may use Terminal Server.
    The implementation of  this is very fast and simple also, what you need is only a license.
    If complex and advance features connection requirement connection use Citrix.
    For better understanding you may search from the site for the difference of the two.

  • Remote Server Connection - adminstart.bat issue

    I am trying to connect to my remote in-house development coldfusion 9 standard installation with the latest version of CFB 1 Build 274293.  I have all the default settings and ports and it seems to recognize the server but it shows the status as "stopped".  The CF9 service is actually running.  If I try to right-click and tell the server to start, I get this message:
    -Cannot perform the operation. Admin server for the remote server Local CF9 is not running.
    I cannot preview my website, when I click the "IE" tab, it shows a dialog message of:
    -Unable to resolve file on the remote machine. Ensure that you have entered the correct mapping information.
    Nothing shows up in the console as an error, except when I try to start the service.  My Services Browser, when I click on the "Show CFCs on RDS Servers", I just get the message when I extract my Local CF9 server of: "Unable to get meta data for cfc".
    I have come across blogs that have mentioned to run the adminstart.bat.  When I run that I get nothing but a blank command prompt that disappears.  I don't see any port number or any other screen.
    When I run this line in the command prompt (being in the directory): "jrun -config admin_jvm.config -start admin", I get this error: "Error loading: C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll"
    I will also mention that I put an * on the jrun.subnet.restriction and jrun.trusted.hosts in the security.properties file.

    Please give some guidance or things to look for, I have attempted to use CFB many times and each time I went back to Homesite because I could never get it to connect.  This time I am going to give it a double effort to get connected, but I need assistance.

    Well, still unable to find an answer and nothing seems to get it working.  CFB seems to crash often and the whole thing just seems very unacceptable.  I am returning to using Homesite 5.5 until this becomes more stable.

  • Crystal Reports 10 Enterprise Server Issue - Exporting Large Reports to PDF

    Weu2019re implementing a Crystal Reports 10 Server for a customer but weu2019re having an issue with exporting large reports to PDF.  The report size that starts to show this issue is roughly 300 pages with 20 records per page.  We use the default Crystal ActiveX viewer. 
    Basically what happens is that the user will launch the report in the ActiveX viewer and the large report will take a while to load, as much as 3 to 4 minutes.  The user may then wish to export to PDF.  Once they attempt it with these large reports the viewer will basically hang and possibly be processing but will then time-out after roughly 5 minutes with this error:
    u201CProxy Error
    The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
    The proxy server could not handle the request POST /thinqreports/THINQCrystalInterface.asp.
    Reason: Error reading from remote server
    IBM_HTTP_Server/6.1.0.9 Apache/2.0.47 (Unix) Server at lmsproxy.aurora.org Port 443u201D
    We believe this error is coming from a server on our network.  We have a proxy server between users and the Crystal Server that has a 5 minute time-out for connections.  What we want to know is:
    - Is there a way to speed up this export to PDF process?
    - Should the Crystal Viewer be keeping an http connection alive to the Crystal Report Server while its doing this export process?
    - If not, what port does Crystal Viewer use to communicate with the Crystal Report Server? 
    - Is there something we can set in Crystal to keep an http connection open? 
    - What is actually occurring during this export process? 
    Occasionally, we may get the above error when simply launching a report, not just attempting to export to PDF.  We presume that is because loading the report into the Crystal Viewer from the Crystal Report Server is taking longer than 5 min.
    Anyone have any thoughts?  Thanks.

    As this is happening within Enteprise (and I am assuming the report does not time out in the Crystal Reports Designer) I would suggest posting this to the BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration
    forum.
    My limited Enterprise knowledge would be to suggest scheduling the report as PDF but I don't know if that is a viable option for you.
