With Mac OS 10.8.3 & FireFox 21.0, how do I create new folders in which to store several similar in nature bookmarked icons?
With earlier MAC OS and Fire Fox versions, I created numerous folder into which I put bookmarks. For example, I have a MEDICAL INFO folder into which I placed several bookmarks. I want to create a totally new folder for a different topic. I can't find a toolbar pull-down that allows that to happen and I can't find answer in the Firefox Help info. What do you advise. Well, probably not what you wanted to hear, but if you come across an older Mac, you should be able to use your old copy.
These are the old system requirements. You want CS6 or better for today's Intel/OSX Macs.

• Mac OS software version 8.5, 8.6,or 9.0
• 64 MB of RAM* (with Virtual Memory on)
• 125 MB of available hard-disk space (after install)
• Color monitor with 256-color (8-bit) or greater video card
• 800x600 or greater monitor resolution

I'm using Windows 7 Home premium on an HP Pavilion laptop. Maybe two weeks ago, I stopped being able to create new folders in the Windows Explorer box; I click the "New Folder" button, and nothing happens: no error message, nothing. Around two weeks ago, I also reinstalled Firefox to get rid of some adware virus (success: the adware is gone!). I do not recall the exact timing on when I did the reinstall and when I stopped being able to create new folders, but I'm wondering if the folder problem could be related to the re-install. And if so, what can I do about it?

How to create new folders on iCloud Drive from iOS or with document picker?
Recently I wanted to share several files from my iWorks suite with my colleagues. I do not want them to edit these files, instead I made templates in Numbers for easier management of hours worked. Everyone could download their copy and keep a track of their hours themselves. The problem is, not everyone has an Apple product.
Unfortunately, iOS does not support native browsing of iCloud Drive (except the document picker, which, to me, isn't helpful at all), the only way I know of - to create a new folder - is to open iCloud.com in Safari, request the desktop site and make a new folder from there.
Is there another way of creating new folders, preferably an official app from Apple or from within an iWorks app or the document picker that I do not know of? Or is this actually a missing feature?
Also, if Apple could make an app similar to Microsoft OneDrive, that would be great.Yes, there is a way. Here is the workaround. You can add notes folders directly with your iPad or iPhone.

I can no longer create new folders on my desktop. The option to do that is now light gray on the drop down menu and can't be selected.
I cannot drag new items onto desktop any longer either.
The Desktop in Finder opens with Terminal.
Folders and items on Desktop open and work normally.

Sometimes the problem may be solved just by logging out or rebooting. Try that first, if you haven't already done it. Otherwise, continue.
Select the icon of your home folder (a house) in the sidebar of a Finder window and open it. The Desktop folder is one of the subfolders. Select it and open the Info window. In the General section of the window, the Kind will be either Folder or something else, such as Anything.
If the Kind is Folder, uncheck the box marked Locked. Close the Info window and test.
If the Kind is not Folder, make sure the Locked box is not checked and that you have Read & Write privileges in the Sharing & Permissions section. Then close the Info window and do as follows.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You should get a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”). Quit Terminal.
Relaunch the Finder.
If the problem is now resolved, and if you use iPhoto, continue.
Quit iPhoto if it's running. Launch it while holding down the option key. It will prompt you to select a library. Choose the one you want to use (not the Desktop folder.) -
Creating new folders with Package Maker during preinstall actions?
I have figured out MOST of what I need to have a successful install package produced with Package Maker BUT... how do you create an empty folder? My application uses a few folders for archiving and scratch, but unless I add some text file to that path I can't figure out how to create the folder I need. I am only fluent in Applescript so I hope I can use that to create these folders but I will learn enough unix if need be. If it requires any other language to accomplish this task I guess I will have to go another route.
Any ideas?It isn't part of PackageMaker at all. It is defined in "URL Types" in your application. See the source code to Bwana for a simple example.

I would like to create file folders for my documents I brought over to my ipad from my desktop Mac. I downloaded pages and neu.annotate. My files synced without a problem. PDF articles I put in neu.annotate and pages documents into pages but I would like to organize into folders like on my desktop. How can I do this on the ipad3?
Unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system and everything on it has to be stored/associated within an app, you can't have separate folders of documents/files on your iPad's homescreens. If the apps that you have support it then you could possibly use Dropbox to store your documents within a folder structure, but you'd then need internet access in order to access them.

I need to update Firefox to the latest version, but check for updates is grayed out. After running the combo updater, select Software Updater and update iTunes.
If iTunes fails to open after updating, hold down the Option key when launching iTunes. It will ask you to locate your iTunes Library.
Note: I've seen users with their iTunes Library on an external drive spin like this when the drive was failed to be seen in Disk Utility. Run Repair Drive on the external drive to fix this issue.
