With URL, overwrite the "title" tag of a browser tab/window

I've got a dashboard that will link out to other dashboards. Is there a known OBIEE URL parameter or other method to overwrite the title of the browser window? Right now they all say the generic "Oracle BI Interactive Dashboards." I know I can overwrite this globally, but what if i want to change on a case-by-case basis?

How you are showing this dashboard using URL?
Just in case if you are manually opening then try to use custom html page that should have frame object with src=obiee url
give more details to go for any other options if that is not working out

How to use Direct Access URL in the FORM tag

I want to substitute the pageid url (/servlet/page?_pageid=161&_dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30) with the direct access urls (pls/portal30/url/page/my_page) to address the pageid conflict between development server and production server.
It works perfectly fine in the redirection code such as:
self.location.href="/pls/portal30/url/page/next_page". But I got "Page can not be found" error message when I use it in the <FORM> tag:

Does anyone out there know how to use the direct access url inside the <FORM> tag? I am trying not to write a bunch of code just to retrieve and insert the pageid at the run time.

Use condition. If you are validating a record, just out the desired check in the condition field for that specific item.

Help with Find / Replace button title tag contents (text)

Hi there,
I designed my site with Sitegrinder (Medialab) –
Currently all the title tags generated for buttons are the same as
the actual html page name.
The problem with this is that the tooltip which appears in
browsers when you hover over the button with the mouse gives you
the page name. Instead I want to use these tooltips to give the
user an indication of what the function of the button is.
An example: A zoom button above an image: Currenty the
tootlip says “zoom imagename pagename” – Instead
it should say “click here to zoom”.
I need help to get the Dreamweaver Find and Replace tool to
batch replace these tags for me for about a 100 pages.
Here is an example of the code:

I only want to replace the text in the title tag - Since the

“text” = zoom (I’ve tried this with

I need help with what parameters to enter in order to find
and replace all the text within the title tag with my own text

You have ~ 100 pages, each of which has images with title
attributes (not
tags), all of which BEGIN with the letters "zoom"?
What do you want to replace that text with? Wouldn't it be
different for
each button? Or do you mean that you would do multiple
sitewide searches,
one for each button? This illustrates how wrong it is to not
use DW
Templates or server-side includes to simplify the management
of your
navigation elements....
Did you ask Medialabs if it would be possible to specify this
before
generating the HTML?
How did you like working with SiteGrinder? It looks like a
nice product to
me, although I'm not fond of the final results code-wise....

Is there a site-wide title tag that I can edit or are the title tags specific to each individual page? I'm working on my title tags for Destination West at http://xibuhaohua.com and as you can see, it is in Chinese here as 西部豪华 but it's English here at Destination West. So, I'd like to know if I can edit each separately because I think they should be in different languages.

You can set the title for each page in the Page Properties dialog.
Note that on a master page, you can set a page title prefix or suffix if you'd like all your pages using that master to share a title prefix or suffix.

The Location bar shows me the TITLE tag info for a page in large font + the URL in small font. How can I turn off the display of the Title tag, I just want to see a list of URL's. Bad design to force it that way, I don't like it. I know what a URL is.

I don't need the YAHOO. I find it so completely annoying that you have forced me to look at TITLE tags when I am trying to find the URL I want. This ought to be a setting that I could control. There was a feature similar to what you are describing, that was in and out of the Firefox 4.0 betas last fall, but the 3.6 versions never had anything remotely like what your description has me visualizing.

How to set the value of the title -tag

I try to set the html-title of the html file rendered by the portal framework. I've found the <head>-tag in the head.jsp skeleton file but there is not title tag. How is the header rendered and how could I determine the title for each page individually?

What issues did you have with setting the backing file to the desktop?
One solution is to set a page backing file for every page that you want to allow to affect the portal's overall title. In the page's backing file (which could conceivably be shared across all the pages in question) you would write some code that would do something like:
1) get the desktop backing context
2) get the desktop's title
3) get the page's title from the page's backing context
4) append the page's title to the desktop's title
5) set the new title on the desktop backing context
I haven't tested this code, but the common page backing file's relevant method would look something like this:
public void preRender(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    DesktopBackingContext desktop
        = DesktopBackingContext.getDesktopBackingContext(request);
    String title = desktop.getTitle();
    PageBackingContext page

Is it possible to add a button with image on the title bar(IDR)?

I look through all the buttons in the example, All of them does not with an image on them.
Is it posslbe to put a image on the title bar?

Subject with bucket in the title

Body with bucket and b-u-c-k-e-t.

Imagine my shock when your message arrived in my email with such a filthy title! It apparently doesn't filter the Subject header for outgoing emails.
I can say bucket in the forum, but since I don't get email notification from my own messages, I don't know what will appear there.

in an external window, using:

We have a requirement to hide the location bar and the title of the window (in which the PDF is displayed). We are able to hide the location bar but the URL still appears in the title bar.
We have tried the following code to set the title, but it is not working.

This is not a web dynpro restriction - but one that has been brough about by the browser designers.
Because of the number of people falling to phishing attacks the designers of browser have all decided to always show the URL of any popup HTML windows. This stops malicious pop-ups from pretending to be something they are not and stealing user's data.
If the world were a nicer place you could have your pop-up without the URL - but it isn't and it's probably better that your users have a least a little help in identifying if they are being scammed.

TS1538 Problem with instal of the latest update of iTunes on my Windows 8 computer

I have installed the latest update of iTunes on my Windows 8 computer but now have a problem in that iTunes does not recogise my iPhone. I get a message that I need a new version of "Apple Mobile Device Support". However, I can't delete the old file? I get a message saying "The older version of Apple Mobile Device Support cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."
Any suggestions?

I've not had this problem since getting windows 8 but did previously use a free program from Microsoft called "windows install clean up" which I found online (at that time I needed to remove a stubborn QuickTime programe from windows 7).
May be worth a search for if you've got time. It worked amazingly before and remomved programs that otherwise refused to be unintalled!

Title of site on browser tab not appearing

I just published my site (http://www.energychek.com) but the name of my company, or anything else for that matter, does not appear in the browser tab. It is completely blank. I have other iWeb sites where it does appear. Any suggestions??

2 special textboxes can be used to make the title which can be see also in the browser tab (<title>my title</title> in source):
1. "type the title for your page there" (the most important) or
2. "type a heading for the webpage here" (this one is used to make the title if the first one doesn't exist).

You must have text or text image (made by iWeb from text) inside theses textboxes, not an image (like your logo) or a shape (with or without text) .

Can I chnge the context menu "open in new tab / window" options back to the previous version (reverse order)?

In Firefox 4, the context menu "open in new tab / open in new window" options are in reverse order compared to 3.6. Can this be "fixed," i.e. change the menu item order? I use this feature constantly and it's a matter of habit, also still use some 3.6 machines.

How can I remove the flag design behind my browsing tabs?

Today the Firefox homepage asked if I wanted to put my country flag in the menu bar or toolbar (I don't know which one). The change is applied but I want to revert back. I can't figure out how. The paint splatters are totally distracting and I cannot easily read the options in the menu up there. The area I am talking about is in the Firefox browser behind my browsing tabs.
