With Word 2007 & Adobe Acrobat 8 - Unable to convert to PDF

I do not have the PDF Maker icons available on my Office Word 2007 application.  I tried to go through my Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard application as well and it stated that it doesn't support the document that I'm trying to convert and to go to Print to select Conver to PDF.  When I go to my print options, no such option is available.  Can someone tell me what I need to do to convert my Word document to PDF?

  • Adobe acrobat 9 Pro Convert to PDF Access Denied for users

I recently installed IE 9 on my computer (windows 7 ultimate 64 bit). From this moment on I cannot convert web page to pdf. I am getting " permission denied", code 0.
    Can anyone help me?

    Good day astryian,
Acrobat 9's development was completed while IE8 was still in beta.  The PDFMaker Add-in from Acrobat 9 was never designed for use with IE9.  You may want to try printing to the Adobe PDF printer from IE9 instead.  If the results you receive contain either missing or garbled text, please refer to the following knowledgebase document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/896/cpsid_89623.html

  • Windows 7, Office 2007, Adobe Acrobat cs3 - will not create a .pdf from word doc

I can not create a .PDF file from a 2007 word.docx file.  I have tried a few different word docs, including a document I created just to trouble shoot with.
I tried opening the .docx in Word and then going PRINT - ADOBE PDF.  When I do this 'nothing' happens. No dialogue box opens, nada.
When I open Adobe Acrobat and try to 'create' I get this error: "Adobe acrobat could not open"name.docx" because it is not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged...".

Support for Office 2007 applications began with Acrobat 8.1; so, you want that or better.

  • Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

Why does all alphabets change to capital when converting pdf to word using Adobe Acrobat XI

Word 2013 uses its own pdf creator engine as far as I know. The step I performed were:
1 - In the save settings I told word to embed fonts (sorry for the language, I have the Italian client)
2 - Export from Word -> Save As -> .pdf adding also the table of contents/index
N.B. I cannot use PDF/A, and in any case it doesn't embed the font
A working solution is to use Acrobat XI to convert it or print with Adobe PDF printer, results:
    The problems are 2:
1 - It doesn't create any bookmark and doesn't create links from the table of images to the linked images
2 - Images, also with the preset "High Quality Printing" customized using "No compression", are really ugly and if you zoom a bit more than 100% they totally be s**t. It wasn't that way with PDF created by word.
In the end, or I find they way to open the pdf created by word and embedd the missing font, or I find a way to make Acrobat XI creating bookmarks from the word file.
    Suggestion?

  • Windows 7 64-bit, Word 2003 SP3, Acrobat Pro 8 - Convert fails

I've recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro x64 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  It has not been possible to convert Word docs to Adobe PDF, either in Word itself or using the Explorer context menu option on the doc file.  It always starts and then aborts.  For now, I'm being forced to boot to Windows XP Pro SP3 (my previous main OS) and do it there.  UAC is disabled.  I've tried running Word using "Run this program as an Administrator".
Is there a solution to this?
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 with SP3 installed
    Adobe Acrobat 8.1.7 Professional
    Thanks,
    Robert

While had previously downloaded the Windows 2007 Virtual PC, I'm not really too hip on using it.  From my point of view, it would be just as much 'frustration' rebooting into Windows XP Pro compared to running it in the VPC (if not more in the latter).
As for upgrading to AA 9, not likely soon. Cash is tight enough at the moment and the only thing that I have upgraded recently was Windows.
For now, I suppose that rebooting is my option.
    Thanks,
    Robert

  • Export to Word using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (mac)

I get an error message when I try to export to word using adobe acrobat 9 pro for mac.  Any tips?

    Hi Bill,
Thanks for replying.  The entire message is below.  Any ideas?
Acrobat was unable to make this document accessible because of the following error:
Could not convert the document (exception caught).
Please note that some pages of this document may have been changed. Because of this failure, you are advised to not save these changes.

  • I am unable to convert a pdf file to word as I get the error message indicates it contains XFA forms

I am unable to convert a pdf file to word as I get the error message that pdf files containing XFA forms cannot be saved to the specified format.

    Hi curtlea,
XFA forms are not regular PDF's but XML files in a PDF shell.
To create a word file from those files, you first have to flatten the XFA forms by printing as PDF with the Adobe PDF Printer.
Then you can save using ExportPDF the created static PDF as Word document.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same server

We have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro- English,Francais,Deutsch version 10.1.9 in our test environment and tried  testing it for converting SAP pages into PDF with a few pilot users. In doing so we faced a challenge, where only one user at a time can use Adobe Acrobat PRO to convert SAP pages in to PDF.As long as the first user who  is connected to Adobe Acrobat Pro via SAP isn’t logged off, other users connected to the same  server  are not being able to get the “Save As” dialog box to save the PDF in their preferred location.
This is a business requirement and we need an urgent solution for the same. Can anyone help us in telling us if this is possible and if yes the how to go about?

It's not something we deal with here, the LiveCycle products are a different world. Key points: Adobe LiveCycle is a range of products, some desktop, some server. LiveCycle PDF Generator is the one you should look at, it comes in 3 editions. License terms are by negotiation. Key management is via its Java API.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same Citrix server

    Hi,
In my previous endeavours to solve this business requirement where multiple users will be able to use the Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP pages inside SAP to PDF, I was told that it is not possible to do this for multiple users at the same time. However I have found an article according to which it says it is possible. Could you check it once and let me know if this article can be used for implementing the requirement stated above as this link clearly indicates that Adobe Acrobat is supported on Citrix.
Please find the link below where it states it is adobe acrobat is supported in Citrix for multiple users.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html.

    1. What is the Acrobat feature that you mean? There's nothing specific to SAP included with Acrobat.
    2. Yes, some Terminal Server configurations appear supported (check carefully). All users of the terminal server will need a license, so far as I know - total licenses = total individual people using.

  • Font difference between MS WORD and Adobe Acrobat Pro

I am facing an issue with Font difference between the PDF's which are created through MS word "Save as PDF" utility and Adobe PDF maker add-on. Let me explain what my analysis detail.
    1. Both MS word and Adobe acrobat using the font from the windows\fonts folder where my font Univers ATT font resides.  I have confirmed this with the Acrobat distiller. below is the screenshot.
    2. If I check the font properties through File->properties->Fonts tab both PDF font properties looks same.
    Save as PDF
    Adobe PDF
When comparing the PDF we are able to see the font formatting mismatch between these two PDF. Below screenshot.
Please advise me how to resolve the issue. The form should be match in formatting level also in order to proceed the implementation in my project.
    Expecting your answer soon.

    Thank you Bill.
Actually the difference not showing until we are selecting the Formatting option. The below screenshots illustrate the same.
    Comparing two documents:
The difference not showing before selecting formatting.
    Selecting the formatting option.
Once selected the formatting I am getting the formatting level difference between the PDF's. One is created with MS word SAVE AS PDF utility. The other PDF created with ADOBE PDFMAKER.
The comment pop-up clearly says in terms of font, fill color there should be difference. But I am not sure how Compare documents option comparing and showing the result. What all are the factors would be consider during comparison. Please help. Until resolving the issue I can't resume my project. Thanks in advance.

  • RoboHelp for Word cannot open Word with Word 2007

Thanks for your leignancy, I'm having trouble even starting
to work with RoboHelp. I think I need detailed explanations. I did
spend hours sifting through Robohelp's Help and this Forum, I'm
    stuck.
    I am trying to use
RoboHelp for Word 7.0 , build 001, with Word 2007 on Vista.
I need to work on help projects created with a previous
    version of RoboHelp.
For some reason, when I open RoboHelp, the .doc file opens in
Word next to it, but then RoboHelp freezes for several minutes,
then I get a dialog box that says
"RoboHelp" could not open Word .
Then anytime I try to modify a topic in my help file, I get
the same stall and error message, and my Word document stays stuck
at the beginning on my first topic.
    Also, in Word,
all Robohelp options don't work. I can't search for a topic
for instance to locate it and modify it. When I click on search for
a topic from the menu on top, nothing happens at all. If I click on
search a topic from the right-click menu, then I get a message that
because of security or confidentiality settings, the
    Macros don't work.
I tried re-activating all Macros in Word 2007 Options, I
closed everything, even re-booted the computer, but to no avail.
Also, I tried saving my .doc into a .docx (Word 2007 format)
to see if the Macros would be compatible then, but I got the exact
    same results.
Right now, RoboHelp and Word don't seem to be "talking" to
each other right, and the Macros don't work.
Plus: I tried to test a modification I made in the .doc file
by generating the WebHelp, but that didn't work either, I got an
error message saying that the file couldn't be opened, but the path
to the file was all wrong, with folder names I don't even have on
    my computer.
If someone could figure this one out for me, I'd be very
thankful, I'm the kind of person who likes something to work in a
simple, linear way, 1-2-3... This is totally confusing for me right
    now.

Ok, isn't that what I did when I re-activated the Macros in
    Word 2007?
Word Options / security - confidentiality center / Parameters
Activate all Macros (the lowest one on the list)
Did that already. Also, I made backups of my projects, and
tried with a new "brew" just in case I had messed it up along the
    way somewhere.
First thing I did when I opened it again was change the
output to WebHelp instead of WinHelp 4, since I can't open that in
    Vista anymore.
I can generate the help in that format, but either way I try
to make any modification it's not taken into account when I
    generate it.
    Example:
In the french help project which I'm working on, I had a
    tittle that was miss-spelled.
I tried modifying in in the Word .doc document, then generate
the help, but the title was still wrong.
So I tried changing in directly in Robohelp with the topic's
    properties.
When I clicked OK, it stalled forever again, and then it said
it couldn't take the modifications into account.
And any text I cut and paste or changed in the .doc on Word
    remains unchanged in the WebHelp....
Right now, the more I try, the more I'm stuck and the more
questions I get. I'm seriously thinking I'd need some live
coaching, on a chat or something, to get me started on the right
track. Is there anyone who can do that? I'm so awfully stuck right
now. And I feel like I'd unfurl a tsunami of ridiculous questions
if I posted them all on the Forum now...
    *EXTRA*
I did all the updates (7.0.3) and right now I'm re-installing
    everything.
    Arghhh.
I missed one of the last days of ski this season, spent my
    whole week-end with this.
I'm trying to sound rational and calm, but I'm actually so
tired and exasperated, I'd have jumped through the window already
if we weren't on the first floor... Still stuck at Step 1...
    What am I missing??
