WLC "DHCP Option 82 Remote Id field format"

On WLC, does "DHCP Option 82 Remote Id field format" show client hostname on wlc monitor

Hi Jonathan with sub option 2, from your example D is the node identifier.
When seeing the variable per connection type, I would give a safe assumption it is verbose padding the sub type 1.
The verbose pad formatting for the packet should contain
sub option
length
node identifier
port type
interface number
vlan id
For normal pad format it should contain
sub option
length
circuit
length
vlan id
interface number

  • SPA122 - How to turn off "DHCP Option To Use" in the Provisioning tab using the XML configuration file?

    As default, SPA122 and SPA112 have DHCP Options 66, 160, 159 and 150 turned on.
    Our pre-provisioning process includes adding our default profile rule to our provisioning server for the device to pull its configuration files once the device has been added to an account.
    However, it seems like some customers have had problems with the device downloading the definite configuration file and manually turning off option Option 66 in the provisioning tab in the device solves this issue.
    Is there any option we could add to our pre-provisioning file so that it removes 66 from the "DHCP Option to Use" field in the provisioning tab?
    Please advise...

    Thanks Dan,
    I didn't know the dhcp server could serve different options to different classes of clients, I'll have to look that up!

    so if your provisioning file has this line below (this is from a spa5xx config I had in my temp folder, so use the line from your provisioning file, or use the SPC tool to create a new default config for that device type)
    <DH<DHCP_Option_To_Use group="Provisioning/Configuration_Profile">66,160,159,150,60,43,125</DHCP_Option_To_Use>
    change it to
    <DH<DHCP_Option_To_Use group="Provisioning/Configuration_Profile">160,159,150,60,43,125</DHCP_Option_To_Use>

  • It would be helpful if there was a field formatted to enter a telephone (i.e. (000) 000-0000). Am I missing this option somewhere?

    We collect telephone numbers on some of our forms.  Is there a field formatted for easy entry?  Don't see that this is a current feature in the text umber fields.

    Hi,
    Unfortunately, this option is not available with forms created through Forms Central.

  • How to query a DHCP option field?

    I am able to successfully define various DHCP Option codes for use with Apple's DHCP server and indeed I am the person who wrote a GUI utility to make it much easier to generate the data values needed to do this. The following is a typical example of what you need to (manually) add to /etc/bootpd.plist
    <key>dhcpoption66</key>
    <data>
    CgBklg==
    </data>
    I am also able to query specific DHCP option codes (as provided by Apple's DHCP server as above) using IPNetMonitorX from Sustainable Softworks. However it should I believe be possible to do the same tests via the command line in Terminal using the ipconfig getoption command, please see the "man ipconfig" page.
    While as an example "ipconfig getoption en0 router" works fine, I cannot seem to get the right syntax for querying a specific DHCP option code, despite the man page suggesting this should be possible. Unfortunately like nearly all man pages, the information is very skimpy and the examples practically non-existant.
    Could anyone reply with the correct syntax to query as an example DHCP option code 66?
    I suppose (gasp!) Apple could have a bug in ipconfig preventing the ability to query option codes. (Shock, horror!)

    When in doubt, use the source.
    The DHCP [client.c source code|http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/bootp/bootp-198.2/ipconfig.tproj/client.c] might be interesting here.
    The core of the option-related code looks to be over in the [dhcp_options.c source code|http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/bootp/bootp-198.2/bootplib/dhcp_options.c ?txt] and what looks to be the option tag table mapping is over in the [gendhcp_parsetable.h source code|http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/bootp/bootp-198.2/bootplib/gendhcp_parsetable.h].
    A quick read of the source files and particularly the routines command_info and Sgetoption and the tag table implies that the +ipconfig getoption en0 66+ command might work. Or maybe +ipconfig getoption en0 tftpservername+ will work.
    When I test this syntax, I get +ipconfiggetoption failed, (os/kern) failure+ and which obviously doesn't bode well for this syntax, but then I likely don't have any of the related stuff enabled on this test network. (And I'm only very quickly reading the C code here...)
    I have not found and viewed the source but I had tried that exact syntax (as per your example) and got the exact same error hence my comment that maybe (gasp!) there is a bug here.
    I have submitted a bugreporter entry and will have to wait and see if Apple reply.
    Thanks for the apparent confirmation.

  • Need profile option for determining DateTime format in Oracle Forms

    Hello All,
    I also have requirement where I need to read the date format in which Oracle Forms displays date values.
    As per updates to [this thread|https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=10285119] , I just need to read the profile option "ICX: Date format mask" ("ICX_DATE_FORMAT_MASK"), and reformat the date value to my required target format.
    This is good for the date type of fields. But what about the profile option that determines "datetime" formats in Oracle Forms ?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks

  • Invalid field format (screen error)

    We are using custom module pool report for displaying information. Information display in Table control which has also Radio button option for the further processing. After unicode conversion we are getting error while accessing the screen as "Invalid field format (screen error)" when user select Radio button. In production environment we are not facing any issue, but in Dev + Qas we have this issue. Nothing is changed as all environment are sync. To solve the issue we re-defined the Radion screen element, but no success we are still getting same error. I am not sure whether it is related to Page Format or something else. Could you please let me know whether anybody faced this issue ? For the information, I already searched on SDN and SNote, but there is no post or SNote

    Have you checked if there are overlapping fields on the screen.
    I've seen simular errors and usually it was beacuse of some change by SAP that made it so that the defined length of the screen field was suddenly to small.
    I'm not saying that this is the case in your situation, but it never hurts to try and change the length of your screen field and see if that resolves the issue.

  • DHCP option 66

    I would love to just post in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2347065
    But Apple likes to lock old threads and force you to start over...
    The indication in that thread is people did get this to work, but there is no final note of exactly how. So far we are finding it does not function properly. We're trying to set up a Fog server, but using the Mac server for DHCP. Unfortunately it fails to actually forward the client to the Fog server as needed. Here is what we have done:
    on the Mac server (10.6.4) edit the /etc/bootpd.plist
    below the array for dhcpdomainsearch and above the dhcp_router key, we insert the following:
    <key>dhcpoption66</key>
    <data>
    krp+CQ==
    </data>
    <key>dhcpoption67</key>
    <data>
    cHhlbGludXguMA==
    </data>
    These values are obtained using the DHCP Option Code Utility posted in the above thread with these inputs:
    Option Code Number: 66
    Option Code Type: IP
    Option Code Value: 146.186.126.9
    Option Code Number: 67
    Option Code Type: String
    Option Code Value: pxelinux.0
    When those didn't work, because the info in the noted thread was not clear, we also tried:
    Option Code Number: 66
    Option Code Type: String
    Option Code Value: 146.186.126.9
    Which gave us:
    <key>dhcpoption66</key>
    <data>
    MTQ2LjE4Ni4xMjYuOQ==
    </data>
    This also did not work. In every case the TFTP times out indicating option 66 is not defined or is not being followed correctly. It's a shame that unlike Microsoft, Apple has not included these common option controls in their server interface. We're hoping someone who has actually gotten this to work will see this and be able to clear up what Apple needs for input to make it actually work right.
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi, I am the author of the DHCP Option Code Utility and therefore the unofficial worldwide expert on Apple's DHCP Server
    If you go to http://www.sustworks.com/site/prodipmxoverview.html you can download a copy of IPNetMonitorX which includes a feature to test DHCP option codes. For example, you could test option 66 on a different make of DHCP Server (one that works) to see what exactly it returns, and then do the same test against Apple's DHCP Server and see if it is returning exactly the same result. Obviously if it returns a different result there is a problem.
    Note: IPNetmonitorX shows all DHCP option code results as decimal numbers (you need verbose logging turned on), you may therefore need to translate these to hex or ASCII values. One decimal number equals one hex number or one ASCII character.
    I can tell you that using DHCP Option Code Utility to generate the values, Apple's DHCP server works fine for many users needing to do this to support VoIP phone systems which also need to advertise a TFTP server.
    I have looked at your message and as far as I can see, your entry for Option67 is what I would believe to be correct. Obviously this field is not an Integer, nor is it an IP address, so using the String option is the only logical choice. For Option66, like your post, two choices spring to mind, the first being to use the IP address choice and the second the string choice. Again your examples are what I would use with my first choice being the IP address one.
    However there is one thing I can mention that may (or may not) help. An IP address for humans is written as 146.186.126.9 that is four decimal integers between 0 and 255 each separated by a full stop, if we break this down we have the following decimal integers
    146
    186
    126
    9
    in hexadecimal the above translates to
    92
    BA
    7E
    9
    Now the way Apple's DHCP Server actually stores IP addresses (ignoring the encoding you see) is actually as four hexadecimal bytes so if you use my utility to encode
    92 BA 7E 09
    as hexadecimal, you will find it results in the identical krp+CQ== result. Now apart from giving you some background which may help if/when you use IPNetMonitorX to test DHCP server option codes, what this also allows you to consider is that it maybe that some systems want these bytes in a different order. This relates to 'little endian' vs. 'big endian' see http://www.cs.umass.edu/~verts/cs32/endian.html
    I am somewhat doubtful of this, as all the VoIP systems I have dealt with use the same order equivalent to 146 186 126 9
    If your able to use IPNetMonitorX to query FOG's own DHCP server and give me the result, I can see what difference it is doing.
    Note: You should only have one DHCP server on a network at a time, so you should do this test on a standalone network or when you will not interfere with your live network.
    Note: You need to stop and start the Apple DHCP server in Server Admin to get it to re-read /etc/bootpd.plist and use your new settings. You should therefore stop the DHCP server while editing the file.
    UPDATE - NEWSFLASH
    Just retested my own Mac OS X 10.6.4 DHCP Server which has four DHCP option codes defined which were previously working. When I tried adding a copy of your option66, even with supposedly my DHCP Server 'stopped' it kept overwriting the changes I made. It maybe your server is also almost immediately overwriting and losing your option codes. Try doing it in single user mode or even booting from another disk and of course double check your bootpd.plist still lists your option codes.

  • Guest LAN and DHCP Options not passing through

    Managed to get the Guest LAN up and running for wired clients and all's working well.  Users are sat behind a proxy and if I force the use of a appropriate wpad file I can get the WLC auth to happen and then push off to the proxy.
    I'm trying to use option 252 in DHCP to present the WPAD url.  Only issue that happens is that while the DHCP server on the egress interface is handing out addresses to clients on the ingress interface correctly, the WLC doesn't appear to be handing through the option 252 I have set in DHCP.  I've used network monitor to see what the dhcp request process is dishing out in terms of options, and all look good if I'm not behind the WLC.
    Anyone know if theres a limitation on the WLC that prevents DHCP options being passed through to the guest LAN?
    TIA

    When configured as a DHCP server, some of the firewalls do not support DHCP requests from a relay agent. The WLC is a relay agent for the client. The firewall configured as a DHCP server ignores these requests. Clients must be directly connected to the firewall and cannot send requests through another relay agent or router. The firewall can work as a simple DHCP server for internal hosts that are directly connected to it. This allows the firewall to maintain its table based on the MAC addresses that are directly connected and that it can see. This is why an attempt to assign addresses from a DHCP relay are not available and the packets are discarded. PIX Firewall has this limitation.

  • Set maximum size in Text Form Field Options for a field in bi publisher RTF

    Hi All,
    How to set maximum size in Text Form Field Options for a field in bi publisher RTF.
    I have a RTF whch is having a field in that i need to add some validation condition but after adding certain condition in Add help text tab ,it is not accepting after certain length, how i can increase the length to unlimited,please help me on this
    Thnaks

    Form fields have some restrictions if your are using version lower than 11g.
    They can accommodate only 393 chars. You can add the text in both status bar and help key, which can in total consume 393 chars.
    If your code logic is more than that, it can be split into multiple form fields as Avinash suggested or you can use sub template logic and handle coding over there. Again in sub template code can be within/outside form fields.
    So there is no option for user to increase the size of form field.

  • Select-options for date field.

    Hi all,
    i need to give select options for Date field.How can i give that.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Ravi,
    Use the Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS to include select options in Web Dynpro ABAP. Follow these steps:
    1. In your Component , "Used Componet" tab add Component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS . Component Use can be any name that you want to give, eg SELECT_OPTIONS
    2. Go to the View where you want to include the Date Select Options. I am assuming that you already have an Attribute of Type DATS in your context.
    3. View: Properties Tab:Create Controller Usage and select
    SELECT_OPTIONS     WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS
    SELECT_OPTIONS     WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS     INTERFACECONTROLLER
    4. View Layout Tab:Include a View Container. In this view container we will show the Date Select Options.

  • Multiple domains via DHCP (option 15)

    It seems Mac OS X (I use 10.4.10 but I suspect it affects many versions) is incompatible with receiving multiple domain names in a single string over DHCP Option 15.
    If DHCP returns Option 15 with "exampledomain.com eng.exampledomain.com", then any lookup (using dig, ping, Microsoft Entourage, etc.) of a non-fully qualified domain name will fail.
    You can see this in the /etc/resolv.conf file, which contains:
    domain exampledomain.com eng.exampledomain.com
    nameserver 10.X.X.1
    nameserver 10.X.X.2
    I know that putting multiple domains within the same "domain" option in DHCP is a proprietary hack but some networks still use this. Has anybody run into this and have they found a good resolution to make Mac OS X work with multiple domains?

    While a single mailbox can be configured to receive on multiple addresses (called "proxy addresses" or "aliases"), the mailbox is configured with only one primary SMTP address (outbound address).  So if your requirement is to send
    as the received address, you would not be able to do that with a single mailbox through normal means.
    Some people have developed a workaround to the above limitation by configuring Outlook to use multiple POP3 accounts for a single mailbox.  See this link for additional details:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/hot/archive/2012/04/26/how-to-add-an-alias-to-an-office-365-account-and-how-to-set-up-outlook-to-send-email-messages-as-this-alias.aspx
    I would also be sure to look at the client requirements for Exchange Online.  The supported version of Outlook is going to be Outlook 2010 SP2.  Older versions may work but would not be supported.  Outlook 2003 would at best possibly
    connect via POP3.

    Hi Manish,
    I have made certain tables(Main, Flat,QT) remote key enabled. but when i m trying to import data remote key field in the destination side doesn't come up. Remote sys is of type Inbound/Outbound. Please let me know in case any one can provide any link to this.
    There are 2 steps to get the remote key in the Import Manager destination side. One is to ensure that the key mapping is set to YES in Console ( which I guess you have already done). And the other is while Opening import Manager, choose the Remote system in the Connect to Source screen.i.e Mention the remote system name in the Remote System in the Import Manager dialog Box. This would get you the remote key on the destination side, that you are looking out for.

  • Date Field Formatting

    Hi All,
    I'm back already! Learning Flash is beginning to get to me
    again so I returned for yet more help!
    I've written the following AS code to get tomorrow's date . .
    // Calculates today's date and tomorrow's date
    var dToday:Date = new Date();
    dToday.getDate()
    trace("today: " + dToday) //today's date
    myD = dToday.getDate() + 100; // plus one day
    var dTomorrow:Date = new Date();
    dTomorrow.setDate(myD)
    trace("new: " + dTomorrow) //tomorrow's date
    var strDate:String = new String();
    var strDate = String(dTomorrow);
    trace("String: " + strDate);
    The strDate string returns the following value . . . "Tue Jul
    11 16:19:57 GMT+0100 2006".
    That is all well and good but I want to convert it into the
    following format for comparison with another field . . .
    "200607111619" which is basically the same value in the following
    format . . . "yyyymmddhhmm".
    Does the only way of doing this involve using parsing logic
    to break down the original string and then reconstruct it in the
    required format using variables from the broken down original
    string?
    I have tried looking at the Date Field object notes in my
    book but it does not give me anything as regards this programming
    requirement. The only thing I can find that might suit this purpose
    is string parsing logic. Am I right or is there an easier way to
    set a date field format?
    Any help would as always be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kevin.

    I'm working on an application which requires a valid Voucher
    Number to proceed. The Voucher number is based on a combination of
    'date/time/no of items' (e.g. 20060711095802 which is today at
    09:58 (on a 24 hr clock) for 2 (02) items).
    As this date this date/time Voucher Number logic is
    essentially sequential, in that each subsequent Voucher Number will
    be greater than the last good known Voucher Number entered into the
    application (which is already stored in a variable field for
    comparison). But it must also be less than tomorrow's date, for
    which the Voucher Number would always be tomorrow's date (e.g.
    20060712 at 00:00 hrs for 00 items, thus giving 20060712000000).
    This is the value that I'm trying to ascertain from the date field
    logic.
    It would thus be really handy for comparison if I could just
    format tomorrow's date and time in the format yyyymmddhhmm and just
    add '00' to the end of the string.
    I don't like the idea of using the milliseconds value as it
    will be necessary then to convert the Voucher Number entered to a
    date field for comparison.
