WLST and WLS 81. SP4 Issue

A WLST script of mine that I have used to build domains since 8.1 SP1 no longer works with SP4. It appears that calls to shutdown( <servername>, force="true" ) immediately followed by startServer (to pick up config changes) are generating errors:

* I have now put in a 15 second sleep and this appears to be working. Is this a known issue with WLST and SP4? I notice with the 15 seconds sleep that is appears to properly drain stdout/err, something it does not do without the pause (though it was not required with < SP4).
Here is it now working with 15 second pause:

Hello Daryl,
Not sure what to say, it does seem like the sp4 server is returning success even before it is completely shutdown.. :-(. The workaround you put in to wait for 15 seconds seems to be a right workaround.

  • Struts, JSP 1.1 spec and WLS 5.1 - issue with useBean and getProperty

Hi there, I am attempting to compile a JSP page using Struts tag libraries and Weblogic 5.1 with Service Pack 9.I have defined the bean using <jsp:UseBean id="myBean" ... > and then attempt to access its methods using <jsp:getProperty name="myBean" ... > This fails with a 'myBean is not defined as bean' error. When I replace the <jsp:getProperty ...> with a scriptlet e.g. <%= myBean.getCustomerName()%> it compiles and runs just fine.I have read that the WLS server may be enforcing a strict implementation of JSP spec 1.1 which the Struts tags may not be adhering to (?).Oddly, when I start WLS without invoking the Service Pack, the error disappears and the <jsp:getProperty> works as expected!Any official reason for this strange behaviour? ... I'd like to avoid using scriptlets if possible. Thanks in advance,Rash

    Hi.
The following link shows supported versions of apache:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/platforms/index.html#apach
In short, WLS 5.1 does not support Apache 1.3.20. The latest supported version is
    1.3.19.

    Hi manohar,
Thank you, Pierluigi for encouraging Middleware Magic Team :)
manohar, apart from what *"Pierluigi"* has suggested, additionally please notice the following messsage in your StackTrace (whih is basically a NOTICE message but does not look good)
The loading of the trusted certificate list raised a certificate parsing exception PKIX: Unsupported OID in the AlgorithmIdentifier object:In your case it looks like the actual issue is your Certificate which comes by default with JDK. As mentioned in this BUG.
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6803022
Additionally please refer to the following Thread:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3958098#3958098
I am suspecting that you need to do the following in order to get rid of Certificate Errors which is the ROOT cause of your issue
Do the following: After taking a backup of *"$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts"* file
    cd $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security
    cp -p cacerts cacerts.original
    chmod 644 cacerts
keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass2ca -keystore cacerts
keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass3ca -keystore cacertsAlso try with Node Manager Communication type as "*Plain*" because it looks like you are getting PKIX security certificate chain message, just to isolate the issue.

  • WLST and Jython 2.2

We are trying to write our deployment process using jython 2.2 and import wlst modules. When we attempt to import wlstModule into our jython script, the following error is received:
    File "/opt/anthill3/agent/SNICustomBuildDeploy/scripts/jython/DeployMain.py", line 21, in ?

Should we be able to use wlst within jython 2.2, or are we limited to using the 2.1 version of jython?

As a data point for you (others may have had a better experience) we tried to also use Jython 2.2 with our WLST automation env that we created and found the same issues (and more) that you are describing. When we would talk with support on the matter, we were always told that WLST was only tested/certified on the version of Jython that shipped with WLS (in our case 10 MP1). In 10MP1, it is Jython v2.1. Once we started using v2.1 (and got past a few other CLASSPATH issues regarding a module JAR that is packaged with WLS that is somehow not put on the CLASSPATH when running the setWLSEnv.[cmd/sh] script), we are up and running and have had no further issues. Hope this helps...

  • WLST and Jython "advanced" setup

    Hi,
I have a few questions concerning WLST and Jython:
    OS:

    Situation:
    1) Unable to include wlst-file created by using writeIniFile automatically
    2) using org.python.util.jython without caching message
    Information:
    1) wlst.py generated by using writeIniFile in an interactive java weblogic.WLST session
    2) when starting jython using "java org.python.util.jython" the message "*sys-package-mgr*: can't create package cache dir, '/opt/oracle/fmw/fmw11gR1PS2/wlserver_10.3/server/lib/weblogic.jar/cachedir/packages'" is shown
    3) location for often used modules is unkown. For weblogic.WLST this is "<WL-Home>/wlserver_10.3/common/wlst/modules"
    Request:
    1) where should common modules be placed for the included jython
    2) how to change jython cache location
    3) is it possible to update to another jython version
    Any and all help welcome

Well, the documentation didn't help much. It oftens refers to a "CompatibiltyRealm"
which I cannot find in the developer edition!! Turning on the SSL debug flag,
Weblogic tells me I am using a "6.x SSL configuration" ... I don't know why WebLogic
is using this configuration. I simply generated my certificates by uing the "Certificate
    Request Generator Servlet" ...
Since many people are having the same problem, it would be great if someone can
describe the steps or point to a place where the steps are described (just for
    a simple example!!) :)
    Thanks so much!

    Hi!
Can someone provide me the steps to configure a simple one-way-SSLconnection
(certification) with WLS 7 SP4 on Windows 2000 using the developeredition?

A previous post with the same call stack and error had the following
    suggestion.
According to the stack the SSL server thread failed to initialize at the WL
    server
boot time because it could not read the private key. Make sure the key file
    is
valid. The pem file with the key must starts with:
    -----BEGIN ENCRYPTED PRIVATE KEY-----
Make sure the private key password that you pass on the command line is
    correct:
    -Dweblogic.management.pkpassword=<pwd>

  • I am very annoyed at the Creative Cloud set up and the non-stop issues and problems

I am very annoyed at the Creative Cloud set up and the non-stop issues and problems!  I am paying monthly for this service and it is constantly failing in some way!  So far in three months I have had to uninstall and re-install Photoshop THREE times because it stopped working properly and Illustrator I have had to do that same to TWICE!  That isn't including the other apps that have had issues!  I don't have the time to constantly be un-installing and re-installing all or some of the Creative Cloud because your developers are not making a product that works consistently for the money you are charging!  It is costing me more than just this monthly fee!  And I am even less impressed with the fact that I cannot email someone for assistance in resolving these issues.  Really Adobe?

  • B1 8.8 and Crystal Reports datasource issues

    Hello everyone,
the HowTo on using CR with 8.8 recommends the SAP B1 Datasource type for reports.
In our setup this datasource type does not work (logon failed message after entering credentials) while OLE (ADO DB) does.
SAP B1 Datasource type would be of great help to our report designers due to annotated tables.
We were not able to trace what is going wrong i.e. we found no more detailed error msgs.
Is there any documentation on the B1 datasource type and how to investigate issues with it?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Strange, very strange...
I've done a little test in our setup. Trying to connect to our SBO 8.8 server, I selected the SBO server, the license server and the database type, leaving the credentials blank. Opening the list with companies, it showed all companies.
So something must be going wrong trying to reach either the SBO server or the license server. Like it can't connect to the SQL Server. I don't know if there are any differences in actual connections to MS SQL Server between OLE and SBO connections.
I'm running out of clues. At this point I can only think of two things, but assumed that you used the same info with the OLE connection, they're unlikely. Those are IP resolving issues and MS SQL Server instances.

  • My MacBook Pro 13" (2012) is running Windows 7 on Bootcamp and there is an issue with the headset I'm using.

My MacBook Pro 13" (2012) is running Windows 7 on Bootcamp and there is an issue with the headset I'm using. I use a cheap Logitech Stereo Headset H130, but since there is only on audio plugin on the computer, I purchased a 3.5 mm 4-pin smartphone audio adapter thingy. That allowed me to put both my the sound coming to my headset & the microphone on my headset onto one wire. Everything worked wonderfully when running the Mac OS since they probably have support for that kind of stuff. The problem is though that once I try to use the same method in Windows 7, the OS doesn't recognize my headset microphone at all, but, instead when recording my voice decides to use the built-in mac microphone. Using this adapter still allows me to hear from my headset, but not use the microphone and that becomes a problem. It might be so that Windows 7 doesn't have support\drivers for that... How should I continue from here on out? Any advice?

From what I have read from others on here you may be out of luck. You would need the appropriate Windows drivers for the Cirrus chip in the Mac and no one has been able to successfully locate them. Apple wouldn't support this since Windows is an optional install.
Sorry to bring the bad news.

  • On-premise SharePoint 2013 and SkyDrive Pro Sync Issue

    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum between SharePoint and SkyDrive as the issue is related to an update on SkyDrive Pro.
premise SharePoint 2013 installation (migrated from 2010) and Office 2013 installed. SharePoint is patched up to the latest CU. Syncing documents from SharePoint worked fine until KB2817495 was installed. The syncing still seems to work but we cannot add
any new libraries, either directly from the browser using the "sync" button or adding the URL to "Sync a new library". I've tested it with an Office 365 account and the libraries add fine so I'm not sure whether it's a SkyDrive or SharePoint
issue. If I uninstall the update then I can successfully sync new libraries from our on-premise installation.
At this point the only solution I can see is to prevent that update from installing via WSUS.
    Kind regards,
    Rick

    Hi
    anuxps ,
Yammer already have Single Sign On with Office 365, but SharePoint Server for on-premise does not follow a 90-day release cycle and it won’t yet. Also we are looking for Yammer integration with on-premise
     soon. There are improvements coming.

I purchased a season of a TV show from itunes and it won't go onto my ipad, i've purchased several seasons in the past and never had this issue, how can i fix this?

Drew how is that even possible? I use gift cards all the time, any time I've had insufficient funds iTunes will not allow the purchase, sights Insufficient funds and rejects the purchase. Any time I log into my account the money in that account appears in the upper left corner. If you're not seeing that then you have other issues. Anyway... Kneil is right you should be able to rip CDs you own to your iTunes library (regardless of your money matters with iTunes), then depending on how you set up the music you need to add it to your playlist and then sync it to your iPod. Did imported music ever work? How are you ripping or importing the music to iTunes? Are you using a compatible format?
Something else to look at-- It's possible your cable is defective, have you tried a new or different cable? Some of what your describing is a bad cable issue. Good luck, Cheers.

  • ILife 08 and iMovie 06 compatibility issues?

Sorry if any of this has already been covered in other threads...
Has anyone had a chance to thoroughly test the 6.04 version of iMovie (download version if you install iLife 08) and know what compatibility issues there are?
I.E. How well does iPhoto 08 play with iMovie 06, or iMovie 06 with iDVD 08. Are the third party plugins problematic with v6.04?
From what I saw at the Apple store, iPhoto08 and iDVD08 would be the only apps that I would really want since iMovie08 seems to be a step backwards and iWeb is still lacking in everything that I wanted improved. But I don't want to waste the money to discover all sorts of "gotchas" with trying to get iMovie06 to play nice with the rest of iLife08...
Also, has anyone done an install excluding iMovie08 entirely? Do you still need to download 6.04 if installed this way? Are there any pitfalls?
This is like Deja vu or something...When iLife06 first came out, I installed everything but iMovie and stuck with iMovie05 for a long time cause of all the bugs and how long it took to get the third party plugins working...

Of all the things for people to moan about with iMovie '08, the real unfortunate thing is it's inability to import effects, etc. (essentially your completed movie) from iMovie HD. One could somewhat forgive Apple for this debacle, if only it played nice with iMovie HD. Then it could be everything it's supporters say it is, i.e. "a different app," "a simple app for simpletons in a hurry" (although I find it's lack of tools and compatibility issues more difficult to manage).
...and a lot of us feel like this is the thing we're going to be stuck with going forward.
I keep thinking that something else is going to happen, because this can't be right. I think this diver/video engineer who came up with this concept is suffering from the bends.
Apple doesn't need the money, (as in making us buy Final Cut Pro for decent video editing), trust me, so I don't understand why it would take the PR hit.
iMovie '08 spoofs are already on YouTube, etc.

I teach Continuing education classes to Real Estate agents and I need to issue them certificates at the class, whihc need to be signed by me and it needs to contain their info on the certificate. The certificate is currently saved in a word format. What i'm trying to accomplish is to do a "mail merge " ( as some classes i have as many as 150 attendees) for the document, digitally sign each one with my signature on the certificate and then e-mail it out to the respective attendees. can this be done? if so How?

This is the step that I took after inputting my signature.
On the right, after saving my document, I click "Get Others to Sign."  I was confused because it says that it's powered by EchoSign.  Like I stated before, my clients are able to sign this document when I send it to them, but it is returned to me with their signature (not in the signature field, but at the end of the document), and my signature is missing.  I tested this on myself - my signature is missing when they receive it.
