Wlst.cmd version

Hi All,
I am trying (unsuccessfully) to export metadata for webcenter portal application using WebLogic Scripting Tool.
Accordingly to documentation
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_intro.htm#BHCEDCFG
To list WebCenter Portal WLST commands, type: help('webcenter') at the WLST command prompt.
If the message No help for webcenter found... displays, you are probably running the WLST script from the wrong directory, for example, you might be running wlst.sh or wlst.cmd from the oracle_common directory instead of WC_ORACLE_HOME/common/bin.
Also in examples
wlst:> importMetadata(application='wcps-services', server='WC_Utilities', fromLocation='<mar file>', remote='true'),
but when I run in looks
wls:> importMetadata(…………….
I try it in right directory, but still having error. I have JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 with Webcenter.

1) If you are trying to export the MDS from JDeveloper you are doing an unnecessary step as the MDS in JDev is already file based and you only have to navigate to the MDS location.
You can find this in your Application properties by going to the Application menu and select Application Properties.
Open the Run node and select MDS. Copy the Default location and open it in your explorer. This should give you the MDS without needing to export it.
2) If you are trying to export MDS from a real WebCenter installation you have to go to the webcenter directory.
In my case this is:
C:\Oracle\middlewarePs6\Oracle_WC1\common\bin
So it looks like <fuisn home>/Oracle_WC1.common/bin
This will open the WLST command tool and will load the required libraries for WebCenter.
You can also read more about this in an article I recently wrote: http://www.ateam-oracle.com/exporting-metadata-for-a-specific-group-space-in-webcenter-spaces/

  • An error occurred while building the default domain - New version of error

I have installed JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0. I used an temporary Admin account on the machine to install (organization security does not allow normal users to have admin accounts) and it runs perfectly well under that account.
When I logged in under my normal account though I get an error trying to run the Debugger on the application. The server appears to be the only area of JDeveloper that has issues under this account, and below is the Log:

Any one have any ideas??? Seems like security issue, but this account has full access to it's C:/User/Account folders.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Can you try the following steps and let us know if it works?
    1. Create a folder in your c: drive (say c:\myjdevhome)
    2. Invoke the command prompt, set JDEV_USER_HOME=c:\myjdevhome
    3. cd to JDEV_HOME\jdeveloper\jdev\bin
    4. Start the jdev (jdev.exe).
    5. Run/Debug your application.

  • Running config.cmd produces - The system cannot find the path specified

I had successfuly installed Weblgic/OSB and cofigured a domain on 64 bit windows 2008
I then uninstalled all components and re-installed everything |( including deleting all directires ) .
When I come to run config.cmd to create the OSB Weblogic domain I get :-
The system cannot find the path specified
I have set echo on and can see that the cmd file is attempting to acces directories that do not exist - so the command file is getting wrong info from somewhere but I just cannot figure out from where. I donlt think its a script issue, its more like an issue with some setting somewhere in windows regirsty or some cache that its pulinng it in from - the wrong directoties displayed seem to look like my existing dir's with ~1 and ~2 on the end.
    Any ideas suggestions greatly received.

I have not edited any of the scipts at all - they are as they have been laid down byt the install.

  • Using WLST to execute SOA Suite commands

    Hi,
    using SOA Suite 11g R1 PS1 (11.1.1.2.0)
I am trying out the WLST commands as described in the documentation (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/e13813/custom_soa.htm#CIHGBHAC), such as sca_listDeployedComposites and sca_undeployComposite. However, each command seems to fail with a NameError. Other commands (non-SOA Suite related) seem to work okay.
Did anyone succeed in using the SOA Suite related command in WLST - the ones prefixed with sca_? If so: did you have to do any special set up or configuration to make it work? What is the exact syntax you are using?
    Thanks for any pointers.
    Lucas

    OKAY, it is resolved:
To use those custom commands, you must invoke the WLST script from the Oracle home in which the component has been installed. Do not use the WLST script in the WebLogic Server home.
    The script is located at:
    +(UNIX) ORACLE_HOME_for_component/common/bin/wlst.sh+
    +(Windows) ORACLE_HOME_for_component\common\bin\wlst.cmd+
I had started the wrong 'version' of WLST, the generic one and not the one in the SOA1 subdirectory that knows about the SOA Suite specific operations.
    regards,
    Lucas

  • Unable to start WLST

    Hi,
I am unable to start WLST and throwing "d:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\native\win\x64\oci920_8 was unexpected at this time" error message
    OS: Win 7 64-bit version
    Java : Java 1.6 64-bit (jdk-6u33-windows-x64.exe)
    WL Version : 10.3.6 generic version (wls1036_generic.jar)
While installing Weblogic, I have chosen the Sun JDK.
After successful installation, I changed the nodemanager properties such as startScriptEnabled and stopScriptEnabled as "true". And run the NodeManager and NodeManager started successfully on port 5556.
But while trying to start the Weblogic scripting Tool, it is throwing the error message as
"d:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\native\win\x64\oci920_8 was unexpected at this time"
I have not created any domain and planning to create using WLST script.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

Initializing WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) ...
Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class
    Edited by: user10213645 on Mar 9, 2010 3:37 PM

There is an existing Bug 8431390 - WLST NOT WORKING IF WE USE NON-DEFAULT INSTALLATION (WL_HOME OUTSIDE BEA_HOME)
As per this bug, the issue can be reproduced as follows:
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Install WLS 10.3GA (essex) kit in a non-default fashion (WL_HOME outside BEA_HOME)
    2. Go to ur $WL_HOME/common/bin directory and execute wlst.cmd
    3. It exits with the following exception:
java.lang.RuntimeException:could not find the OffLine WLST class
    Hope this helps.

  • Deploying a SOA COmposite using WLST

    Hi,
can any one tell me step by step procedure to deploy an SOA composite using WLST..
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi,
Go to the similar directory in your server in the command prompt...
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11g\Oracle_SOA1\common\bin
execute the WLST command..., wlst.cmd for windows, wlst.sh for unix...
    now...
before executing the deploy command, make sure you generate the SAR file for the composite by deploy--->deploy to SAR--->check the file should be there under the project directory source location.
now back to the command prompt...
    wls:/offline>sca_deployComposite(serverURL="http://localhost:8001",user="weblogic",password="welcome1",partition="Enterprise",sarLocation="C:\work\Test-App\WLSTSoaService\deploy\sca_WLSTSoaService_rev1.0.jar",forceDefault=true,overwrite=true);
press enter, then the command will be executed successfully...
check the composite in the EM console, it will be there.
    Hope this helps,
    N

    Hi,
1)To get mysql JDBC driver to work on my Linux system, i had to add the classpath for the driver to the .bashrc:
    CLASSPATH=./:home/<user>/java/mm.mysql-2.0.6/:home/<user>/java
Note that I execute the java program as the user <user> (and .bashrc is the config. file of this <user>...). Perhaps you must do this as well for the Oracle driver on your client machine. I don't know if your client machine is UNIX/LINUX or WINDOWS. It should only be clear that the CLASSPATH is set in the config. file of the user under which the java program runs and that this user has the permission to access the files.
There are no differences between accessing the database locally than accessing it by a network connection. The only thing that matters are that the connection parameters are right and that the network works properly.
    2) are you sure that the table tname (case sensitivity?) exits?

  • Unable to use endeca-cmd against the running Endeca Server

    Hello Endeca forum,
I'm working in a client environment in which I can see that the Endeca Server is running:
    1. Going to a browser on the server itself, I can see a positive result page when I go to http://localhost:7770/admin/<datasource>?op=ping
    2. When I'm in the linux server and do a "ps -ef | grep "start", I see that there is a process running the server with "-Djetty.port=7770"
    3. Studio running on the same server has datasources pointing at localhost:7770 (and Studio is showing data)
However, when I go to the endeca-cmd and try to create a new datasource ("./endeca-cmd create-ds <new_datasource_name>"), I see the following error:
"*Error contacting the Endeca Server localhost:7770: com/endeca/opmodel/opSupport/MkMdexRunner*"
I get the same error if I try to use a graph in Data Integrator with the "Create Data Store" component (taken from the quickstart InitDataStore.grf, but pointing to the client's Endeca Server).
Running "./endeca-cmd version" gives me an equally cryptic error:
"*Error contacting the Endeca Server localhost:7770: com/endeca/mdex/admin/_1/Admin*"
    Has anyone seen this before?
I'm starting to think that this may be a strange environment issue, but I can't figure why I'd be able to see the server running through other means, but fail to interact with the server using endeca-cmd.
    Thanks,
    Jerome

    Hey Brett,
Good points. Unfortunately, I can't install SoapUI on the client's server (where the Endeca Server is running), but I was able to run a graph that tries to create a dgraph on it (which is an HTTP call to the createDataStore operation). This call resulted in the same error that I saw when invoking "endeca-cmd create-ds". However, the failure of the graph gives me a little more in the form of a partial stack trace...
    org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: com/endeca/opmodel/opSupport/MkMdexRunner
    at org.apache.axis2.description.OutInAxisOperationClient$NonBlockingInvocationWorker.run(OutInAxisOperation.java:451)

    at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662)
... which doesn't really tell me anything.
Is there a place where I can see logs for the Endeca Server? Might be able to get a little more from a full stack trace...
I know that dgraph logs are at…
    <OEID_installation>/Server/2.3.0/endeca-server/logs
But obviously these don’t hold anything about the dgraph that I’m trying to create.
    Thanks,
    Jerome

    C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\patch_wls1036\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\patch_ocp371\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JDK16~1.0_2\lib\tools.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\modules\features\weblogic.server.modules_10.3.6.0.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\webservices.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\modules\ORGAPA~1.1/lib/ant-all.jar;C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\modules\NETSFA~1.0_1/lib/ant-contrib.jar;
I can use java weblogic.Deployer but only this WLST is not usable.

    Hi ,
Try to set classpath from setDomainEnv first and then run java weblogic.WLST or else as Alisson mentioned you can use wlst.sh or wlst.cmd from following location.
    %WLS_HOME% / common / bin/

  • Error Using WLST In Ant

As you can see, I have set the environment with that exec task, but for some reason I am getting the error you see above.
It is interesting to note though that the file wlst.cmd does indeed work. The file looks like this:
    @ECHO OFF
    SETLOCAL
    SET WL_HOME=D:\bea_dev\weblogic92
    CALL "%WL_HOME%\server\bin\setWLSEnv.cmd"
    SET CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%WL_HOME%\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbembedded51.jar;%WL_HOME%\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbtools51.jar;%WL_HOME%\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbclient51.jar
    @echo.
    @echo CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%
    "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" weblogic.WLST %*
    ENDLOCAL
I will mention that WL_HOME is set as an environment variable to the value above. I also tried running the class through the <java> task to no avail.
I appreciate any insight you can provide.
    Thanks.

If you are on windows, the ant <exec> forks off another process using
::CreateProcess, so I think your <exec> command is setting up the
environment in a different process than the process that wlst is being
    run from.
    See http://ant.apache.org/manual/CoreTasks/exec.html
Have you tried doing the setWLSEnv.cmd before you run ant?

    Hi,
Till WLS 8.1 SP5 you need to download the Wlst.jar Separately along with jython.jar. You can download these Jars from : http://www.4shared.com/file/116721496/8c3533ea/WLST_WLS_81.html
These Jars are available by default with WLS9.x onwards as part of *"weblogic.jar"* itself.
