WLST connects rarely
Guys,
I am seeing this weired issue in my environment. I want to connect to Admin server to do any configuration. But It use to connects all the time. But right now it rarely connects to admin server.
Admin Server Host is the same where the wlst is running. Same physical box.
Dont know whats going on: Again the server is running all the time and connection can be made once in 30-40 times.

I think I solved the issue. We are using t3s protocol to connect. somehting might have been changes in network that we started seeing the delays. I have increased the default size of SSL Login timeout in weblogic from 25000 ms to 65000 ms I have tried several times and got successfull which was not possible before. So looks like something in tcp has changed which blow up my connection.

Wlst connecting to admin server
I am confused that we can connect to the admin servers using wlst without password?
Is that true and under what circumstances we will be able to connect to the servers?Hi Eden,
Yes, You are 50% Right.
<b><font color=maroon>
BUT Only in one case we can connect to WebLogic Using WLST without Passing the Username and Password....If and only if the Default username is "weblogic" and password is "weblogic" for your Domain.....Even u need no to enter the AdminServer URL wile connecting to the AdminServer via WLST if your AdminServer is running at "localhost:7001"

Wlst connect error in AIX 64 bit 10.3.3
What is the following?
I create a server using scripted WLST and call a
startServer('AdminServer','MyDomain'.....)
connect('weblogic','weblogic1','t3://xxxx:7019')
server is started. But connect fails with the following. The WLST script is OS unaware and works on Windows/HP/Solaris. The problem is only on AIX/64 bit/10.3.3. I can go to the MyDomain that I created and start the server using startWebLogic.sh. If I invoke weblogic.WLST from command line and I still get the following

Hp wireless tv connect - rarely links to a Win 8 laptop
I have no trouble connecting my Win 7 laptop or Android tablet to an HDTV using the HP Wireless Connect device.
Connection occurs very quickly.
But I have great trouble trying to get my Win 8.1 laptop to Link to the TV. It just keeps saying that it is linking, but doesn't link. Now and then, by retarting and/or replugging, I will get aconnection but it is sporadic.
Any suggestions?
Ian
This question was solved.
View Solution.OK, having searched around a lot I found a HUGE number of users who can't make this thing work with their Windows 8.1 computers. Often they (like me) reported no problem with Win 7 or Win 8.0 or even Android but as soon as they switched to Windows 8.1, BINGO.
A few users reported success with somewhat questionable solutions (eg. disable the device, then enable it, etc.) and there were many attempts to update INTEL drivers but for many, like me, the newest drivers were not compatible with their computers and we had to stick with driver versions that our PC OEM manufacturers have available on their websites.
But there was no clear SOLVED solution that works for most users folks. I also can't recall any user who said that they had no problem whatsover connecting from a Windows 8.1 system.
Interestingly, I then checked out forums for the NETGEAR "push2TV" PTV3000 alternative product that relies on Widi. Again, lots of users ran into the same no-connection problems as soon as they switched to Windows 8.1 systems. Since the technology in the HP and NETGEARR products are similar in nature, I have assume that all of us are suffering from drivers for our GPUs that just aren't yet working right with Windows 8.1 and that we probably have no choice but to wait until updated drivers are released. -
Can not connect to ther admin server with t3s in the WLST
Hi,
Our server face a strange problem.
We want to add SSL to our server, and I have set the SSL linsten port enabled, an we can access the admin console with https protocol and SSL listen port.
Then I want to manage the server with
##start WLST with DemoTrust enable
java -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true -Dweblogic.security.TrustKeyStore=DemoTrust weblogic.WLST
##connect
If I use
connect('system','testAdmin','t3://xxxx:10001')
##this can connect successful.
If I use
connect('system','testAdmin','t3s://xxxx:10002')
It will cause an error
WLSTException: Error occured while performing connect : Error getting the initial context. There is no server running at t3s://xxxx:10002 Use dumpStack() to view the full stacktrace
I both enabled plain and SSL listen port and I can access the admin console with http and https without problem. But why I just can not use t3s to connect the server in the WLST? Is there any setting related this? Please advise, thanks.
Here is the dumpStack()

WLST - Multiple Server Connects
Im currently using WLST on WLS10 Platform
The issue: Im trying to have WLST connect to a server, add some users, then reconnect to another server. The server info is being passed via a property file
It appears the "For x" does read the property file, but when it connects, it only connects to the last entry.
Any advice/assistance is greatly appreciated.

Error removing data from MDS using WLST
I'm new at MDS so i want to remove some data which I inserted in the wrong structure....sounds quite easy. After some looking around I should be able to do this using a deployment plan and WLST. I chose the last one as I am not realy familiar yet with deployment plans. I connect with my server and started WLST did the following:
wls:/offline> connect ('weblogic', 'mypassword' , 't3://localhost:8001')
Connecting to t3://localhost:8001 with userid weblogic ...
Successfully connected to managed Server 'soa_server1' that belongs to domain 'MY_DOMAIN'.
Warning: An insecure protocol was used to connect to the
server. To ensure on-the-wire security, the SSL port or
Admin port should be used instead.
wls:/MY_DOMAIN/serverConfig> deleteMetadata(application='soa-infra', server='soa-server1', docs='/apps/deploy/*')The outcome was:
Location changed to custom tree. This is a writable tree with No root.
For more help, use help(custom)
and after a while it closed the WLST connection. Can anyone tell me how I can remove data from my repository or what is going wrong here?
Thanks in advanceHi,
I think you were getting this error because you had your server name incorrect : soa-server1 instead of soa_server1. Also it might be possible that soa-infra is installed on the different server.

WLST : We face this issue on WLS 8.1, 9.2, 10.3
Hi All,
Unless I have a copy of the boot.properties file in the domain root directory I cannot get weblogic.WLST to "utilize" the boot.properties. I thought there was a java option I should be able to set to "point" WLST to the boot.properties in the servers/instance/security directory?
we need to be able to check state of instances programmatically - we cannot use the admin console to do this. We prefer to use weblogic.Admin to do this because we can run the weblogic.Admin GETSTATE command against each individual instance (which I have not been able to do with weblogic.WLST - you have to run the weblogic.WLST state command only via the admin instance which if the admin instance is down you won't be able to tell the state of the other instances in the domain.
I'm hoping that if we can find a way to "tell" webogic.WLST where the boot.properties file is located.
Putting a copy of the boot.properties file in the domain root works fine - but I don't have to do this based on the documentation provided by Oracle.
Any help is appreciated.Hi,
It is better to create the "userConfig" file abd pass it to the WLST connect() function...
How to create user Config file:
BEA_HOME :- /usr/bea10mp1
WL_HOME :- BEA_HOME/wlserver_10.0
STEP-1) Go to WL_HOME/server/bin and set the environment by executing "setWLSEnv.sh".
STEP-2) Then execute below command which generate "*userconfig*" and "*userkey*" files in the directory you had execute this command
java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://adminserverl:port -username <adminusername> -password <adminpassword> -userconfigfile userconfig -userkeyfile userkey -STOREUSERCONFIG
This command prompts for "Y" or "N", select "Y", then creates two files "userconfig" and "userkey"
STEP-3) Validate above keys are correct, execute below command
java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://adminserverl:port -userconfigfile userconfig -userkeyfile userkey -GETSTATE
Above command should display "RUNNING".
STEP-4) Now you can use the following link of connect() in your WLSt script...
connect(userConfigFile='/usr/someLocation/userconfig',userKeyFile='/usr/someLocation/userkey',url='t3://localhost:7001')
Why we need to create userConfig ...please see below...

WLST start managed server throws error but the server was successf. started
Hello,
I have a funny problem.
We are already using long time the WLST feature to startup managed servers via WLST connected to the Admin Console.
Normally when we start a managed server it looks WLST output like this:
Initializing WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) ...
Welcome to WebLogic Server Administration Scripting Shell
Successfully connected to Admin Server 'xxx_admin' that belongs to domain 'xxx_domain'.
Starting server xxx_001 .................................................................................
Disconnect from Admin server
This was working without any errors when inside your nodemanager.properties file the following is set:
StartScriptEnabled=false
Unfortunately I'm now forced to use:
StartScriptEnabled=true
and specified a custom "+StartScriptName+" (startWebLogicCustomScript.sh) as well.
What happen now is the following. WLST starts the script set at "StartScriptName" and once this script is finished (The script do not generate errors and returns return code 0) I get an error:
Initializing WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) ...
Welcome to WebLogic Server Administration Scripting Shell
Successfully connected to Admin Server 'xxx_admin' that belongs to domain 'xxx_domain'.
Starting server xxx_001 .................................................................................
Exception while starting server 'xxx_001'
No stack trace available.
This Exception occurred at Thu Mar 03 01:01:40 CET 2011.

at weblogic.management.scripting.WLScriptContext.start(WLScriptContext.java:523)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
The funny thing now is that the managed server which WLST is given the error above is RUNNING so the everything is fine.
So in the Admin Console everything is shown running.
I don't would be normally worry about this since i can get around this with additional checks in my WLST script but what I'm worry about are the entries in the NodeManager log file which are generated (Especially the bold marked):
+<INFO> <xxx_domain> <xxx_001> <Starting WebLogic server with command line: <just removed>/domains/xxx_domain/startWebLogicCustomScript.sh >+

at weblogic.nodemanager.server.Handler.run(Handler.java:70)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662)
Checking the server output log everything looks ok.
Does anyone have an idea why WLST / NodeManager is trowing errors here and how to solve this problem ?
Does maybe my custom script needs to return a special return code ?
WLS version used is 10.3.3.0.
Thx a lot.Does nobody have an idea ?

Issue while connecting to managed server through WSLT
Hi All,
we have one Admin Server and 6 managed server.
we are successfully able to connect to Admin server which is running on port 7001 but
when we are trying to connect to any of the managed server at port 8001 we are getting below error:
Traceback (innermost last):
File "<console>", line 1, in ?
File "<iostream>", line 22, in connect
File "<iostream>", line 646, in raiseWLSTException
WLSTException: Error occured while performing connect : Error getting the initial context. There is no server running at t3://<host>:8001
Use dumpStack() to view the full stacktrace
Please let us know how to enable WLST to connect to managed servers.
ThanksThis was a silly mistake from my side.
Actually our server hosts multiple managed server on same machines using VIP.
hence using Alias in WLST connect command solved the issue,
Thanks. -
Programmatically start/stop applications without admin server connection
I know I can programmatically start/stop an application through WebLogic's deployment API, but the call needs to go through admin server. I was wondering if there's a way for an application to start/stop another application on the same managed server when the admin server is down. I remember a managed server could be started without an admin server (unless it's started for the first time). So I suppose there must be some way to programmatically start/stop local applications without an admin server as well.
Thank you for your help in advance.Hai,
I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.
