WLST modified db uname/pwd verification for JDBC resource-No Restart Server

Hi,
I have created a WLST script for changing the db username and password for a particular jdbc resource.It is working fine.
But to verify whether the right username and password has been provided ,is there a way to test the db connection for the changed user name and password without restarting the server.
I also understand that there would be the cached connections of the previous user name and password for the jdbc resource.
Please let me know if I can do this using any API's in WLST or any other way.
Idea is to execute the change db user name and password and verification in one go.
Cheers,
Mohan

You could try something like
servers = domainRuntimeService.getServerRuntimes();
# this return an array, for example array(weblogic.management.runtime.ServerRuntimeMBean,[[MBeanServerInvocationHandler]com.bea:Name=AdminServer,Location=AdminServer,Type=ServerRuntime])
# we obtain the server to which the datasource is targetted
admin = servers[0];
jdbcruntime = admin.getJDBCServiceRuntime();
datasources = jdbcruntime.getJDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBeans();
# this returns an array of the active datasources on the server, for example array(weblogic.management.runtime.JDBCDataSourceRuntimeMBean,
# [[MBeanServerInvocationHandler]com.bea:ServerRuntime=AdminServer,Name=ExampleDataSource,Location=AdminServer,Type=JDBCDataSourceRuntime])
datasource = datasources[0];
# Reset the connection pool in the data source by shutting down and recreating all available database connections in the pool.
datasource.reset();
# Test the connection pool in the data source by reserving and releasing a connection from it.
test = datasource.testPool();
# Print out information about all the connections in the connection pool in the data source, if there are any.
datasource.dumpPool();

    Hi,
    I was getting same excepction when tried to configure weblogic server (10.3.3 and 10gR3) through BPM Configuration Wizard, so I end up doing everything manually, like setting up JDBC data sources, JMS Server, JMS Modules and created DB (Directory & Engine).
    Now, I am stuck at the last step of deploying the EAR files generated using BPM Process Administrator, they EAR's are generated fine but while deploying them to Weblogic server (through BPM Process Administrator), getting following exception (for "01-eng-bpmengine.ear")
    <Servlet: "engineStartup" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "/albpmServices/bpmengine".

    my assumption is JDBC Data Sources or the Directory/Engine database have some column name mismatch.
    Let me know if somebody has a solution for this, or if I am doing something wrong.
    NOTE: just found out that this happens only on Windows 2003 server, but not on OEL5 (Oracle Enterprise Linux 5).

  • How to increase the per-process file descriptor limit for JDBC connection 15

    If I need JDBC connection more that 15, the only solution is increase the per-process file descriptor limit. But how to increase this limit? modify the oracle server or JDBC software?
    I'm using JDBC thin driver connect to Oracle 806 server.
    From JDBC faq:
    Is there any limit on number of connections for jdbc?
    No. As such JDBC drivers doesn't have any scalability restrictions by themselves.
    It may be it restricted by the no of 'processes' (in the init.ora file) on the server. However, now-a-days we do get questions that even when the no of processes is 30, we are not able to open more than 16 active JDBC-OCI connections when the JDK is running in the default (green) thread model. This is because the no. of per-process file descriptor limit exceeded. It is important to note that depending on whether you are using OCI or THIN, or Green Vs Native, a JDBC sql connection can consume any where from 1-4 file descriptors. The solution is to increase the per-process file descriptor limit.
    null

    maybe it is OS issue, but the suggestion solution is from Oracle document. However, it is not provide a clear enough solution, just state "The solution is to increase the per-process file descriptor limit"
    Now I know the solution, but not know how to increase it.....
    pls help.

  • Database error for JDBC to Proxy Scenario

    Hello SAP PI Gurus,
    I am having a JDBC to Proxy Scenario .And the interface is running at 10 min of duration.
    However, my other interface are running fine with the same details.
    But for this interface, it giving the belwo error :
    Database-level error reported by JDBC driver
    while executing statement 'call proc_dtdc_prod_summary'.
    The JDBC driver returned the following error message: '
    com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table
    'dtdc_prod_summary_temp' already exists'. For details,
    contact your database server vendor.
    So increased the time from 10 min to 20 min to 30 min. But the erro remians.
    So pls look into this and give your suggestion.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    Please check execution of your stored procedure is resulting with creation of Table : dtdc_prod_summary_temp.
    Modify your stored procedure to just fetch records or insert records in the existing table. Or change the code to Create a table 'dtdc_prod_summary_temp only if it doesn't exits in the Table data base.

  • Passing uname/pwd to Socket

    Hi,
    I want to connect to Telnet using Socket by passing the uname/password, here is the pgm:-
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    Socket mySocket = null;
    PrintWriter out = null;
    BufferedReader in = null;
    try {
    InetAddress address = InetAddress.getByName("111.123.1.123");
    System.out.println("trying to connect .....");
    mySocket = new Socket(address,23);
    System.out.println("connected .... ");
    out = new PrintWriter(mySocket.getOutputStream(), true);
    in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(
    mySocket.getInputStream()));
    } catch (UnknownHostException e) {
    System.err.println("Don't know about host: " );
    System.exit(1);
    } catch (IOException e) {
    System.err.println("Couldn't get I/O for "
    + "the connection to: ");
    System.exit(1);
    Since the Socket class doesnot take the uname/pwd how to pass those? and once the login is successful, i need to invoke a particular command in that machine (111.123.1.123)? like "exec -data" (in windows which does have this 3rd party lib)? How to do this through the Socket programming. Please clarify.
    Thanks

    I used some 3rd party Telnet Client, which is Apache common/net. But is having a lot of problem, i am unable to invoke multiple command through it like "cd\", "c:\jdk\bin"? Is there any other Telnet "lib" that can be used to connect to the remote machines.
    "SSH is secure but it is used ion linux env as supposed to windows. In windows we need to have dedicated server with SSH conf. to send the request to another remote machines. Hence i am looking for Telnet client right now.
    Thanks.

  • Right way to configure Tomcat JDBC resource for MaxDB

    Hi,
    i need to configure one tomcat server with a pool of connections for a MaxDB instance with follow database parameters:
    MAXUSERTASKS=150
    SESSION_TIMEOUT=60
    i do this configuration on tomcat:
    <Resource name="jdbc/myApp"
                    auth="Container"
                    type="javax.sql.DataSource"
                    username="DBUSER"
                    password="secret"
                    driverClassName="com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB"
                    url="jdbc:sapdb://dbserver/DBNAME"
                    maxActive="150"
                    maxIdle="75"
                    validationQuery="SELECT NOW() FROM DBA.DUAL"/>
    is this the right way? there is a way to check if the pool is working at database side? at java side i checked that the javax.sql.DataSource.loginTimeout is Unavailable, then what is the better way to avoid errors like:
    2008-06-02 13:54:36  2165 WNG 11824 COMMUNIC Releasing  T187 command timeout
    i think that this problem occurs because the SESSION_TIMEOUT is 60, and the loginTimeout is Unavailable at javax.sql.DataSource then the DBCP of tomcat dont know when need to revalidate the session.
    thanks for any help.
    Clóvis

    Hi Clovis,
    to be honest, I'm no Tomcat expert at all. All I can do is read the documentation.
    The error message you posted was about an timeout due to a too long idle session.
    From the changes in your connection pool setup I cannot see any parameter that would influence this.
    Instead - as already written - you may either want to change the session timeout in general, for the user or (by adding some connection parameters) for the sessions.
    Concerning the question on wether it's better to have many connections or just a few - well this depends on what the java tasks do with the sessions.
    The connection pool is used for saving resources on the database side and the time necessary to logon and create a session.
    So whenever any of the java tasks needs a db connections it should "just get one" from the pool.
    When you have "high load" (by the way what exactly does that mean? High CPU usage on the J2EE server? Huge transaction volume? Many parallel transactions?) this does not change.
    Anyhow you have to be aware of the fact that the database can only process as many SQL requests in parallel as there are user kernel threads (UKTs) and each of the UKTs need to be able to run on a seperate CPU core. Therefore if it's necessary to have real parallel SQL activity many connections may not be the best idea.
    On the other hand this requirement is seldom necessary - most often sessions can wait a bit until they get the reply from the database and synchronize on each other later on. At least that's how we do it with NetWeaver.

  • Same nr range in Logistics Invoice Verification for the MM and FI document

    I customised Logistics Invoce verification (on ECC6) with the same nr range for MM and FI.  That were done by changing the nr range of doc type RE (in FI) to nr range 52 andcreated the nr range for the company code for fiscal year 2007 and 2008 (our fiscal year 2008 start 1.10.07) and made it external nr assignment.  In MM I changed RD and RS to a new range 05 to which I assigned the nr range 5200000000 to 5299999999 (internally assigned).  For the vendor consignment I created a new document type and assign that to nr range 51 (as the original invoice verification settings).
    This process works quite nice with the same document nr for MM and FI, however I still do have a problem. (I work through the article on above as per FI Expert issue of Sept 07, but even in there my problem was not mentioned.
    If I do an invoice verification for previous period with price changes on the system, Sap want to post 2 accounting docs (1 for the previous month - on which I did have stock and 1 for current month - one which I did not have any stock).  The system only send 1 document nr for FI who needs 2 doc nrs.  I now get the error  message that I must use a document in the nr range 5200000000 and 529999999.
    How do I rectify this or can I not use this functionality if we allow backdating to the previous period

    Hi,

  • Can I setup two-step verification for more than one Apple ID?

    I have one iPad and one iPhone.
    I have four Apple IDs.
    I want to setup two-step verification in all four accounts.
    Can I?
    It seems that I can't, because to add a "trusted device" to an Apple ID requires setting up Find My iPhone on that device. Find My iPhone requires an iCloud account (which is available with every Apple ID). But once you change the iCloud account account used for Find My iPhone on a device, the device will not be able to be used in two-step verification for the previous iCloud account. Or will it get remembered?
    Anyone have any knowledge about this?

    You should be able to have more than account authorised on your Mac's iTunes via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option - and you should be able to select and sync purchases from both accounts to your phones

    iam new to this field, i want to know what are the required tools for JDBC??
    i know that i need java.sql and javax.sql packages, but how can i get them???
    what about the drivers???
    thnx in advance

    You need to go to the vendor's web site such as Oracle and download the jar file for that particular database. Example: ojdbc14.jar for an oracle database and copy it to the 'lib' folder of your project and then include it with your project. Within that jar file, you will have datasource, preparedStatement, resultSet objects. You will need to read up on how to instansiate the datasource for that database from the vendor's documentation.
