WMI Query to retrieve only active IPv4 address
My turn to ask a question. I am running BGInfo for all workstations but at this stage want to only return the Active IPv4 address. I have a custom WMI query set up in BGInfo:
SELECT IPAddress FROM Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration WHERE IPEnabled = 'True'
This will return both IPv4 and v6 addresses. Without disabling IPv6 on my client workstations, is there a way I can get the query to return only the IPv4 address? Or should I instead create a custom vbscript in BGInfo to get the v4 address.
Cheers
Jeremy
You'd need to nose through the results and reject any IPv6 addresses.
This sample assumes IPv6 addresses always contain a ":" in the
string...
strMsg = ""
strComputer = "."
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & strComputer &
"\root\cimv2")
Set IPConfigSet = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
("Select IPAddress from Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration WHERE
IPEnabled = 'True'")
For Each IPConfig in IPConfigSet
If Not IsNull(IPConfig.IPAddress) Then
For i = LBound(IPConfig.IPAddress) to
UBound(IPConfig.IPAddress)
If Not Instr(IPConfig.IPAddress(i), ":") > 0 Then
strMsg = strMsg & IPConfig.IPAddress(i) & vbcrlf
Next
End If
Next
Wscript.Echo strMsg

How to build query which list only active PC's
Hi guys,
I have to install SCCM client on many devices in my enviroment. Unfortunately, SCCM has found amny devices which still have accounts in AD but are not used for looong time. I would like to list only devices, which hasen't installed SCCM client yet but are
active in my enviroment.
That is possible? If yes, that will be glad to hear how build this query.
Thank you.If you don't want those not used devices, why don't you stop discovering them. In the
Active Directory System Discovery there is a tab Options
in which you can configure to not discover computers account that have not been used.

How to get only Active employees in Org Chart (ESS ? Emp search OrgChart)
Hello gurus,
The setting for the Who's Who service in ESS is set to retrieve only
active employees. The value in T77S0, group: ESS, Sem. ABrr is STAT2
and the value is 3. However, after searching, the Org Unit is a link
that you can click and it will take you to that Org Unit and display
the people that are in that Org Unit. However, this display will show
people that have a status of inactive.
Q:How to set the system to show only active employees.
ERP2004 -ESS
Thanks in advance, Abdulabdul can you pl goto IT 0 and check the help on stat2 filed and find what doesn't the value 3 means.

Query to retrieve all unreconciled BP account transactions
Hi, can anyone help me to formulate a SQL query to retrieve only the unreconciled transactions from a business partner account. In other words all the records that display in the account balance enquiry when you tick the "Display Unreconciled Trans. Only" box.
Hi all,
No one has been able to help with this one. It appears to me there should be a simple solution somewhere. Can anyone be a hero and answer this?
I am querying the JDT1 table to get the transactions but I get everything and I want to identify only the ones that have not yet been reconciled.
Cheers,
Greg. -
IPhones not taking ipv4 addresses on Unified Wireless (WLC 5508 and AP 3602)
This is a really odd one...
Earlier this week we started having issues with our BYOD wireless network (802.1x, WPA2+AES) but only with Apple devices (iphone and ipad). Employees with Android or Windows phones are not having any problems at all.
A brief summary of what's observable for the issue:
Radius authentication succeeds (PASS observable in ACS logs)
IPhone status viewed on both controllers (foreign anchor in DMZ as well as corporate WLC) shows phone associated.
Debug client output shows an IPv4 address is actually being assigned to the phone however it appears to ignore it and restart the DHCP request process so debug output shows what looks to be a loop of DHCP request and offer stages.
Infrastructure notes
Cisco WLC 5508s are all running 7.4.121.0 (tried rolling back to 7.2.110.0 .....didn't help)
APs are all 3602I-N-K9
DHCP for the BYOD network is running on the anchor in the DMZ however this was temporarily moved to a switch (had no effect).
Any ideas?

Loop with WMI Query taking too long, need to break out if time exceeds 5 min
I've written a script that will loop through a list of computers and run a WMI query using the Win32_Product class. I am pinging the host first to ensure its online which eliminates wasting time but the issue I'm facing is that some of the machines
are online but the WMI Query takes too long and holds up the script. I wanted to add a timeout to the WMI query so if a particular host will not respond to the query or gets stuck the loop will break out an go to the next computer object. I've added my code
below:
$Computers = @()
$computers += "BES10-BH"
$computers += "AUTSUP-VSUS"
$computers += "AppClus06-BH"
$computers += "Aut01-BH"
$computers += "AutLH-VSUS"
$computers += "AW-MGMT01-VSUS"
$computers += "BAMBOOAGT-VSUS"
## Loop through all computer objects found in $Computes Array
$JavaInfo = @()
FOREACH($Client in $Computers)
## Gather WMI installed Software info from each client queried
Clear-Host
Write-Host "Querying: $Client" -foregroundcolor "yellow"
$HostCount++
$Online = (test-connection -ComputerName ADRAP-VSUS -Count 1 -Quiet)
IF($Online -eq "True")
$ColItem = Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product -ComputerName $Client -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | `
Where {(($_.name -match "Java") -and (!($_.name -match "Auto|Visual")))} | `
Select-Object Name,Version
FOREACH($Item in $ColItem)
## Write Host Name as variable
$HostNm = ($Client).ToUpper()
## Query Named Version of Java, if Java is not installed fill variable as "No Java Installed
$JavaVerName = $Item.name
IF([string]::IsNullOrEmpty($JavaVerName))
{$JavaVerName = "No Installed"}
## Query Version of Java, if Java is not installed fill variable as "No Java Installed
$JavaVer = $Item.Version
IF([string]::IsNullOrEmpty($JavaVer))
{$JavaVer = "Not Installed"}
## Create new object to organize Host,JavaName & Version
$JavaProp = New-Object -TypeName PSObject -Property @{
"HostName" = $HostNm
"JavaVerName" = $JavaVerName
"JavaVer" = $JavaVer
## Add new object data "JavaProp" from loop into array "JavaInfo"
$JavaInfo += $JavaProp
Else
{Write-Host "$Client didn't respond, Skipping..." -foregroundcolor "Red"}Let me give you a bigger picture of the script. I've included the emailed table the script produces and the actual script. While running the script certain hosts get hung up when running the WMI query which causes the script to never complete. From one of
the posts I was able to use the Get-WmiCustom function to add a timeout 0f 15 seconds and then the script will continue if it is stuck. The problem is when a host is skipped I am not aware of it because my script is not reporting the server that timed out.
If you look at ZLBH02-VSUS highlighted in the report you can see that its reporting not installed when it should say something to the effect query hung.
How can I add a variable in the function that will be available outside the function that I can key off of to differentiate between a host that does not have the software installed and one that failed to query?
Script Output:

Authorization in BEx Query Designer: "read only" for definitions of variables
Hello,
I`m developing a concept of authorizations for key user who should be able to maintain certain
objects in the query designer. For other objects they should have access “read only”.
The users have authorizations to design new queries. They should be able to use existing variables
(SAP Business Content ( 0*) and customer variables (z*). On this point, I have a problem: in the selection window of the query designer there are only buttons to create, to delete and to edit a variable.
The user must have authorizations for changing, although he just wants to look for the definition
of a variable (if he wants to see their basic or global settings before using the variable).
I can´t find a possibility to switch from “edit” to “read only”.
The users should only see and apply variables from others (SAP, collegues), but he mustn´t be able to
change them.
The user needs the following authorization objects: S_RS_COMP , activity =02 (change), also
authorization object S_RS_COMP1. If I give the users only activity 03 (display),
the user get the message: “display not allowed”.
Is there any possibility to give a key user the authorization to display all variables with
their definitions?
Best regards
Ricarda SeybHi raghukan,
This is may be due to the authorization but still you can check the consistency check for these queries using RSRV.
Regards,
Amit -
Operations manager failed to run a wmi query for wmi events (0x800706ba)
Hi everyone,
I've been working on this issue for a while and I am still no closer to finding out what the problem is. If anybody can offer any other advice or things to check, I'm all ears.
I'm running SCOM 2012 R2 with UR2, and the Cluster Management Pack v6.0.7063.0
My problem is on one particular batch of cluster servers where I am getting the following error.
Name: Operations Manager failed to run a WMI query for WMI events
Alert Description:
Module was unable to enumerate the WMI data
Error: 0x800706ba
Details: The RPC server is unavailable
Workflow name: Microsoft.Windows.Cluster.Node.StateMonitoring
Instance Name: servername.domain.local
Instance ID: {instance_id}
Management group: SCOM_Management_Grp_Name
I am getting this alert regardless of whether I run the Windows Cluster Action Account as Local System, or as a domain user with full local admin privileges on all the cluster nodes.
When looking at the management pack and the workflow in particular (Microsoft.Windows.Cluster.Node.StateMonitoring), I can see that it's trying to access
MSCluster_Node in the root\MSCLUSTER WMI namespace.
This is the workflow for your information...

I can confirm that I am able to browse the MSCluster_Node class locally, as well as remotely using WMIEXPLORER and WBEMTEST,
however it only works when I set the Authentication Level to
Packet Privacy. If I do not select Packet Privacy, a WMI event log error 5605 is logged on the remote servers application log that says...
The root\mscluster namespace is marked with the RequiresEncryption flag. Access to this namespace might be denied if the script or application does not have the appropriate authentication level. Change the authentication level to Pkt_Privacy
and run the script or application again.
I can confirm that all firewalls are turned off, and there are no firewalls between the management servers and the agents in question. AV exclusions have been done and appear to be in place. The nodes are all Windows 2008 R2 with SP1. As
far as I can tell there is plenty of memory available on each of the nodes in question (50%+) of RAM is available.
If I manually run the "Discover the Windows Server 2008 R2 Cluster Components" task in the Cluster Service State section of the management pack in the Monitoring Pane in the console, on the nodes in question - the discovery runs successfully.
Does anybody have any other ideas or suggestions I could try?
Many thanks in advance,
Noel.

I would like to ask how to retrieve Sever/Host IP address.
Hello,
I would like to ask how to retrieve Sever/Host IP address.
sys_context('USERENV', 'IP_ADDRESS') returns client's IP address only, but what I want to acquire is Host/Server IP address
Thank youThis is why it is generally useful to mention the version of Oracle you are using, particularly if you are using a version 4 releases old...
That said, you can probably still use the UTL_INADDR package
SQL> select utl_inaddr.get_host_name( null ) from dual;
UTL_INADDR.GET_HOST_NAME(NULL)
DDBCJC01
SQL> select utl_inaddr.get_host_address( null ) from dual;
UTL_INADDR.GET_HOST_ADDRESS(NULL)

I'm sure this is an obvious one but can't figure it out.
I have a Winserver 2008 Sp2 (x86) DC with a static IP address allocated to its only NIC. It seems to have acquired a second 169.254.x.x address automatically which I can't get rid of and which intermittently causes DNS problems (and possibly other)
problems.

Any ideas as to how this might have happened and how I get rid of it (a simple re-boot doesn't do the job).OK, I followed Syed's instructions. I noticed that under the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ there were two AdaptorGUIDs, but only one of them had any parameters.
I created the IPAutoConfigurationEnabled parameter for both these AdaptorGUIDs with a value of 0 as instructed and re-booted.
Here are the registry entries for the two AdaptorGUIDs:
After re-booting I did another ipconfig /all, and the APIPA address is still there! Here's the ipconfig output:

[it's a different APIPA address this time, but I guess it is randomly allocated].
Any further ideas for me?

Query to retrieve 2 level of supervisors
Hi all,
I am using the following query to retrieve the people who is being supervised for a given person_id... Is there any way to modify this query (below) in order to get two levels of employees? something like:
Supervisor 1
Employee 1
Employee 2
Employee 3
Supervisor 2
Employee 4
Employee 5
Employee 6
The query is working if I pass the person_id of Supervisor 1 for example I would get Employee 1 2 and 3. But if I pass a person id which of higher hierarchy I will just get Supervisor 1 Supervisor 2 ... And I need all the people (just two levels down)
