even though several folks on this community site have stated they were able to load Win 10, contnue to get the error statng that Win 10 wll not load because I am usng a compressed operating system. Any assistance would be wonderful - Thank You for your time!

To clarify this further, the "Windows can't be installed because this PC uses a compressed operating system." error was apparently introduced with the latest Windows 10 build 9926 released January 23, 2015. It was possible to do an in-place upgrade of a Windows 8.1 WIMBoot system with previous Windows 10 builds, I did one on the Stream 7 last month.
I expect that there will be a fix for build 9926 or at least a fix for the final release of Windows 10 to allow the in-place upgrade since a lot of customers with WIMBoot will likely want to upgrade without wiping their hard drives.

FTP Module of PHP not installed
So I'm trying to install Net2FTP on my server, so my friends will have an easy way to upload files without installing something on their desktop.
Basically, it's running fine and dandy apart from one promblem:
Clicking LOGIN brings the following error:

The problem is, I have the module enabled in my php.ini (About halfway down the code file, under Dynamic Extensions):

When I go to the store they turn me away with my laptops and tell me to buy there computer that's the only answer. I know there has to be away around it? Most apps sold through the Mac App Store (MAS) are the type that use the simple drag & drop installation. Those are downloaded directly to the designated apps folder and installation is done. Large pro-type apps download an installer to your Apps folder. Those you can install at your leisure. The MAS does not have a lot of apps using this type of installation.
Be sure to always backup your MAS purchases, because there is no guarantee that the app will always be available for download in the future and it is your responsibility to archive copies. -
Hyper-V not installing on Windows 8.1

I can't activate the Hyper-V feature of Windows 8.1. Whenever I enable the feature all goes well, I reboot when prompted. But after the reboot Hyper-V is not installed - it's shown as not installed in "Turn Windows feature on and off".
The Windows Setup log has an information event (ID 11) "Update Microsoft-Hyper-V of package Microsoft-Hyper-V-ClientEdition-Package failed to be turned on. Status: 0x800f0922."
I tried DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, but that made difference.
I also tried activating the feature through DISM, but no joy.
Finally, I tried changing my SSD to a spare I had, and doing a fresh Windows 8.1 install on the new SSD, but Hyper-V still doesn't install.
I have a i7 CPU, and virtualization is enabled in the BIOS.

Plex Media or Server will not install on MacBook Air OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion
I am trying to install Plex Media Plex Server on the latest Mac OS X 10.8.5 - it will not install? Keep getting error. Have to manually open up server from downloads folder - rather than it automatically be on top menu bar like it is suppose to be? I get message that the program is not supported or a recognized Mac software. But I know several have used this media server with the Apple platform and their smart tvs with success - however, on older operating systems.
Since April 22, 2013 Netflix won't stream on my MacBook Pro 17" 2009 ver. Called Netflix support and was given the heave ho. Netflix asked if I used any other device. I told them I use an iPad with a Netflix app and they responded; "If you can successfully stream on one device its not our problem!" And that is Netflix Support response in a nutshell. Apparently, Netflix is trying to disable any device that they feel is simultaneously streaming from a single account. This is a pretty dastardly approach to enforce that policy which Netflix doesn't want new members aware of. I personally feel this is a misquided business approach devoid of any ethics or fair play whatsoever. But what else is new. Time to CANCEL YOUR NETFLIX NOW.

Program not installed properly???
When opening QT 6.5.2 with win 98 i get...QTstreaming authoring failed to load because version of Qtstreaming and QT authoring do not match. I click ok, then get "QTstreaming extras failed to load because the versions of Qtstreaming and QT streaming extras do not match, click ok and then the player opens. Guided by an earlier recommendation, I clicked "update existing software" in the control panel and it said that the prog was not properly installed - reload. So I reloaded from the same install prog I downloaded from apple.com and still had the problem.
What do i have to do to watch mov files????? Would it do any good to download 6.5.2 from the site again? ThanksI'd try removing QuickTime and go with a new installer.

Photo Stream on iPhone not downloading all photos? (iOS 5.1)
I have my Photo Stream filled up at 1000 photos. My iPad sees them all. My Mac sees them all. Even my Apple TV sees them all.
But for some reason, my iPhone only shows about 35 photos in my Photo Stream. I've disabled and then enabled photo stream several times. Even rebooted. I did a fresh install of iOS 5.1, and still, its only showing my last 35 photos in Photo Stream.
Is there any way to force an iPhone to re-download all 1000 photos in the Stream?
Thanks!I fixed this issue myself. Net: iPhoto is lying - the iPhone is telling the truth. All the photos iPhoto said were in my Photo Stream actually were not.
On my Mac, System Preferences -> iCloud, I unchecked Photo Stream, then signed out of iCloud. It asked me whether I wanted it to keep or delete my contacts and other things from the Mac - I told it to delete them.
iPhoto then showed me that the Photo Stream was empty, and asked if I wanted to turn it on. Instead, I logged back into iCloud on the System Preferences panel. Photo Stream was still unchecked, but I went back to iPhoto and now chose the option to turn on Photo Stream there. After a minute, I saw only the one photo I took yesterday (which was all I was seeing on my iPhone before). Nothing else was there. I dragged a bunch of photos from my iPhoto "Photos" library to the Photo Stream, and after a few minutes, they started showing up on my iPhone.

Office 365 ProPlus will not install
Hi,
I have tried many attempts at manually installing Office 365 ProPlus using the deployment toolkit but so far nothing has worked. I downloaded the bits first and I'm now trying to install Office using the deployment toolkit. This test is in preparation of
a deployment of Office 365 ProPlus throughout our organization. The bits are copied to C:\Office365 and actually reside in C:\Office365\Data. I copied the deployment toolkit to C:\Office 365.
The test computer is freshly imaged using Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise 32-bit from media and is in a workgroup so I don't get any company policies added. All available Windows updates have been installed. Windows Update is enabled but set to only notify
about updates rather than automatically install.

I open a command window as administrator, navigate to C:\Office365 and run - setup /configure C:\Office365\install.xml. I changed the command line in many ways but it always fails to install with the same error message. A window appears that says
"Couldn't install - We're sorry, we had a problem installing your Office program(s). Is your internet connection working? Do you have enough free space on your main hard drive? Please try installing again after you've checked the above.
My internet connection is good and my hard drive has over 100GB free. I tried clicking the link "Go online for additional help" but that didn't help at all. The Windows Firewall is turned off. No anti-virus is installed and no proxy is in use.
Does anyone know how to move past this issue?

RobI can see it installing now but I need to be sure it's not pulling bits from the internet. I had this happen before when I completely removed the SourcePath. Display level is set to "full" but I am not getting an interface. When I'm done with this
project, display level will be 'none' but I changed it for now just to see something happen.
UPDATED:
I reinstalled Windows 7 SP1 and did not install any drivers. The test computer has no network connectivity of any kind because drivers are required. I copied my downloaded bits to the test computer and ran the install. Office 365 installed without any errors.
I'm absolutely convinced that there is no way the bits were downloaded on-demand in this configuration.

TS1702 App will not install. App says "waiting"
Why will app not install? App says "waiting"
In this order try ....
1. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
2. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
3. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
4. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
5. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again. -
Java and Flash will not install
Hello,
Ever since I updated to Yosemite, I have been getting prompts to install the Java Runtime Environment and alerts that Flash is out of date. This is becoming a problem because I am unable to open illustrator because of this Java issue (which is a Graphic Design student is a huge hassle) and I am unable to stream video on an increasing number of platforms because of the flash plug-in.
I have downloaded the newest version of flash, and JRE but they will not install. When I launch the Flash installer, the icon just bounces in the dock for a while, and then stops, no windows will pop up and my only option will be to force quit.
As far as Java is concerned I can typically get through the installation process until the point after the destination has been selected and the install should actually start. I'll hit install, the installer will pause for a second before the spinning wheel appears, and then it will never go away and the installer will become unresponsive. I've let it sit for many minutes at a time but it never resolves itself. I've tried installing JRE, JDK (both from Oracle), and the "Java 8 Update 25" that I have downloaded from Apple and have encountered this problem with all of them.
I am using a "Late 2009 iMac"
Any help or suggestions would be seriously appreciated since my computer is losing functionality.

HP Stream 7 does not shut down
The last few days, my HP Stream 7 with Windows 8.1 won't shut down as before. I still swipe to get that Win 8 toobar, / select Settings/Power/Shut Down. I have to shut it down bu force - holding the swircty down until the Stream finally dries up. Then at restart it takes eons to restart, and sometimes give me a "your device is low on memory." So far I can only find 'sanswers' on the forums related to what happens when I touch the power button. Given its short battery life I do not want to keep it in sleep mode if I know I wll not be usig it for seveal hours. I WANT IT TO SHUT DOWN the way it is supposed to - and has been doing until recently. I did not change any settings.
Hey , Welcome to the HP forums. I understand you're unable to shut down your Stream tablet. If this is a new issue the simpelest theoretical solution would be to do a system restore to before the issue started. Please try this and let me know if you're able to shut down properly. I ordered wheel of fortune app and it started to install. It did not install and is staying on waiting mode. If I click on it ... Pause. Is the result. I have three other attempts to install other aps. All have the same lack of response. I don't know whether the payment went through or not but all of them remain frozen and I'm installed. I tried calling support to no avail. What o do ?
Rebooting will not make you lose any content. Rebooting is when you hold the home button and the sleep button down at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You can these suggestions. One might work for you.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
