Word wrap Event Title inconsistent

I would like to have the full title of an event displayed in iCal monthly. Sometimes it happens and word wraps properly, and other times it won't display the 2nd line. What rules is the software using to decide what to word wrap and display and what not to? I can't find any setting anywhere.

where? when? how? what is your question?
put a little effort into your posting next time...

  • [Solved]Conky and word wrapping - Is there a way?

So I have a very limited area to work with, something like 176x360 (+/- a few pixels), and I want the ability to show an RSS feed. Well, the feed works of course, but due to the limited width, I'm in great need of word wrapping, and for that problem I have found no solution and going on for 2-3 hours straight, my head hurts
Anyway, here's my .conkyrc, not that it's needed of course.

I know this looks confusing and probably is full of critical error, but that simple because I'm a conky noob. I basically just downloaded a profile I liked and completely changed it over the course of a few hours.
Anyway, I'm rambling again, but if you've got any idea's, please do let me know.

Okay, so I've found sort of a solution to part of the problem, so what I have so far look like this:
    wget -quiet -O - archlinux.org/feeds/news/ | fmt -w 25 -g 25
It works as long as there are no words longer than 25 character, which I should think is rare, even including package names and such.
However there's still the issue parsing the xml so I get only what I want:
    <item><title>$content</title><link>
This may be solved using some sort of terminal rss parser, but I would rather prefer not to.
Then there's the issue with reloading.
My current conky is set to reload every second, but of course one can't just pull the feed every second and I'm not convinced that conky has any built in solution for that problem. Of course I can always start a cronjob and save it all to a file, but portability would be nice.
    anyway, I'll return later.

  • Word wrap in SP calendars

How can we set word wrap in a monthly calendar view for our staff, and community. Example at http://www.tacoma.k12.wa.us/sites/schools/meeker/calendar/Pages/default.aspx
    thanks!

Using sharepoint designer you can tweak the XSLT of the calendar view to show additional information. In general this provides a less friendly experience for a monthly view. It's normally just too much text and the rows aren't consistently sized.
A more usable option is to do a monthly view of titles and description grouped by day.

  • Adjusting column width or disable word wrapping

    Dear,
I am new at Sharepoint and need your help.
I have a column in a list that is displaying the content like this:
    123125D-3423
    34343-998373
    -378373
Since we correlate the information present in a same row in a sharepoint list, this wrapping is causing some confusion.
Is it possible to disable the word wrapping?

Hi Ricardoaor, easy method: make your column title like this "________________Column Title_____________"
Harder method: use SharePoint Designer to increase the width of the column.

  • [SOLVED] How to add Word-Wrapping to a QPushButton

I'm working on a Qt project and I have a QPushButton on which I'd like to allow word wrapping:
I know I can change it to a QLabel, but due to the specific purpose of the application, it needs to be clickable (so I think that means it must be a QPushButton). I've searched around online a bit and the only solution I've been able to find is "inheriting." However, I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Can anyone help? Thanks!
    Last edited by tony5429 (2009-08-22 19:20:38)

I don't think that is possible, as it is against QPushButton's intended design.
However, you could easily derive a class from QLabel and overload the
    virtual void QWidget::keyPressEvent ( QKeyEvent * event )
function or install an event filer (http://doc.trolltech.com/4.5/eventsandfilters.html)
on a "plain" QLabel to do the exactly same.

  • PE8 Word Wrap

Is it possible to word wrap the chapter titles in the menu templates provided with Premiere Elements 8?  I've tried adding enough spaces to make it wrap in the edit block but the second line gets cut off on the menu generated.  Hitting return when the curser is between words exits the edit screen or crashes the program.

Also, one consideration, when using Paul's Hard-Return method is that if you are just working with the main title, or sub-title, you'll be fine, so long as you do not cover up elements on the Menu. If, however, you are working on text for Buttons, the DVD-specs. do not allow Buttons to overlap - even by a 1 pixel row, or column. The "size" of the Button is determined by a bounding box (square or rectangle) that encloses the largest element in that Button.
With PrE's Menu Sets, one is usually NOT changing Button text, but if you do, remember to not make this portion of the Button much larger, or you will get overlaps, which are not allowed.
    Good luck,

  • Iphoto event titles

I seem to be unable to add event titles either from the main event window (all events displayed), or even from the top event title when an event is selected. In either situation I can be in the middle of typing the event title and it throws me out of edit, especially when I use the space bar between words, or certain characters like the "P". This is really irritating and was not a problem in iPhoto 09. The only place I have found where I can type an event title withing this happening is in the info window.
    What is wrong?

Was anything else missing like albums, books, slideshows, etc. Make a temporary, backup copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Event title sometimes incompletely displayed

I find that the event title is sometimes incompletely displayed on the calendar. For example, if the event title is "Dinner with Joseph", only "Dinner with" appears. But if the event title is "Dinner with JosephXX" then "Dinner with JosephXX" appears. If the event title is "Dinner with JosephX" then again only "Dinner with" appears.
Actually, the situation is more complicated than what I described, because what part of the event title is displayed depends upon how I size the window, but not in any way that makes sense to me.
Has anyone else observed this behavior? Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    John Link

I haven't had this problem... until now.
No new software updates I can think of.
The event title in the info panel appears abbreviated (inconsistently). Anyone else have any thoughts?

  • Resizing ListCellRenderers using JTextArea and word wrap

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a ListCellRenderer to draw nice cells for a JList. Each cell has a one line title and a description of variable length. So, I create a custom ListCellRenderer, which consists of a JPanel containing a JLabel for the title and a JTextArea for the description. I set the JTextArea to do wrapping on word boundried and it all almost works.
But, the list cells don't resize to accomodate the variable height of the cells. They show only 1 line for the title and 1 line for the description.
I have seen a few threads relating to this including the article, "Multi-line cells in JTable in JDK 1.4+" in the Java Specialists' Newsletter, which seems to do a similar trick for JTables. But so far nothing I've tried works.
Curiously, using println debugging, my getListCellRenderer method seems to get called for each cell twice while my GUI is being drawn. It looks to me like the TextUI view that draws the JTextArea seems to do the word wrapping after the first set of getListCellRenderer calls. But, it's the first set of calls that seems to establish the layout of the list.
Any help would be appreciated. I've pulled out quite enough hair over this one.

  • Webforms - Wrap Text/Word Wrap for Column Headings

I have some member aliases that are set as my webform's column headings, but they are fairly long. Setting the column width to a custom value that fits most of the text in the heading makes the form very wide and ugly to work with. I don't see any option to Wrap Text or use Word Wrap in the column headings. Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I am not aware of any option which allows you to wrap the text, it may be possible customizing the [CSS |http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_hp_admin/ch12s03.html] though to be honest I am not even sure about that and even if it was possible it would apply to all apps.

  • How to word wrap within text field

I've created a form with a text field but when filling the form out, the words don't word wrap, but merely go in a single line across the text box field.

  • How can I turn off word wrap in the View Source output?

I'm trying to extract HTML from Word and one way to do that is to save the Word file as a .htm file and then View Source in a browser and copy that. But the words are wrapped in the View Source file. I want each paragraph to be all on one line. Is there a setting for the View Source feature that will turn off word wrap?
Once I have that done and copied into a plain text editor, I will use Search>Replace to get rid of all the stuff Word puts there and just end up with the simple paragraph tags at the end of each paragraph, all on one line.

You can disable wrapping and syntax highlighting in the View menu in the Edit > View Source window.

  • Looking for a word processor without word wrap, text edit doesn't cut it

I'm looking for a word processor without word wrap, text edit doesn't work. In text edit, it automatically scoots my text over to the next line but I just want it to keep going with a horizontal scrollbar. Is there a text editor I can download from the app store or can I get textedit to work somehow where it uses a horizontal scroll bar instead of entering text to the next line?

    Hi,
    thought TextWrangler can do it.
But it seems that the 'no word-wrap' "feature" isn't that much wanted anymore.
Maybe one of these http://www.macupdate.com/find/mac/text%20editor can do it.

  • Event Titles no longer available as a option when in the Photo's source.

Prior to the latest update, when I selected the Photo's view, I was able to see Event Titles. Now when I am in Photo's (As opposed to Events, Faces, Places) and go to View, the Event Titles selection is grayed out. I don't need thousands of photo's with no event delineation since this is the only place I can rearrange photos. Any idea what happened or what I am doing wrong.

That is correct - events are time based so if you change the sort then event titles make no sense and can not be used - leave the photos in date order and use albums for custom sorts
It used to work great when I could sort in "Photo's" with the Event Titles as dividers.
I do not think that you could ever sort photos manually with event titles displayed
OK, so if I can't do it the way it used to work, how do I sort photo's in an event?
You can not - use albums and/or smart albums with faces/places/times/keywords/ratings etc
