Wordpress PHP widget workaround for Get Remote URL

Have a client with a Wordpress site that uses this PHP widget WordPress › Remote Content Shortcode « WordPress Plugins
Essentially they're displaying another websites div content on their own div. Is there a way to do this in Business Catalyst (jQuery, etc..) without running into Same-Origin Policy issues.
