Work item Requested start at particular date

Hi ,
workitem should be sent to the agent on particular date ( not in no.of.days ).
Please help me out.

You can do this in 2 ways
1) Select expression in the Workflow>>Activity>>Requested start - Choose the expression and give a preassigned variable
2) Put a manual wait step before the step that needs to be sent to the user.

Sorry, but I don't believe that's possible. Even if you can identify the program, there could be multiple transactions that executed it.
The only possible way, I think, would be to add an enhancement / badi which uses the callstack to determine the calling transaction at the time he event is raised (and then stores it somewhere).
But that's not very elegant.
Why do you need to know the triggering transaction? To influence the workflow? If so, another approach might be this: pass the transaction code as an additional parameter to the workflow event & then pass that to the workflow.

Finding Work Item IDs for a particular Container Value

Hi All,
I am trying to find a workflow that ran on 9/3/09. What is easiest way to find the particular workflow ID if I only have a container value to tie to the workflow? Is there a WF table or transaction that I can use to search for work items on a particular day with a specific container value?

Hi,
If you know the value of key elemnt of your BOR then you can use SWI6 tcode.
Here you have to enter the object name, object key, slection variant as All instances and selection period as All.
Example : my object is BUS2012 and iknow the object key : 4500002345 then in SWI6 you will definitely get it.

If we consider work item it would contain different actions (Methods) .
From table 'swwvhisthead' i could find ENd time of method . I need start time of same method ,Which i could not find in the
same table .
So if anyone have idea on this please give the table name where could i find start time of method .

I think you are trying to update a Ztable based on the workitem, if this is the case then the simple and best way is to make use of program exit tab of the workitem.

PM-Work order execution start and finish date

Hi,
I'm looking for the SAP PM standard datasources which includes the fields ISDD,ISDZ,IEDD and IEDZ.
Upon investigation i could find a data structure DIAFRU which includes these fields.
Can we create a generic datasource on top it and extract the data to SAP BW or else do we have any standard datasource which provides these fields.
Please advice.

Cross check existing PP Data sources which starts names 2LIS_04_P* and 2LIS_17_I3OPER.
if above data sources missing one or two fields then you enhance and use it.
Other wise you can create generic data source on table AFRU as per your needs.

Using 'Expression' in Requested Start Does not work

I need a workflow to send an email 90 days before a Qualifications End Date. Using BUS7019 with 90- Days in the Requested Start, the date populates perfectly. I look at the work item and the Requested Start deadline looks good. However, the date comes and goes and the work item continues to wait. During testing I was using a container item to set the time as well. At first I thought that might be the problem. So I tried it without a time, which sets it to 00:00:01. So I started the worflow and waited until the next day. Current date 09/16/09 09:00:00, work item with Requested Start 09/16/09 00:00:01 and it is still in Wait status. If I set the Latest Start, the work item fires off immediately, so I know the workflow itself works.
I checked SWAA and it is set to check every 3 min. I ran SWU_OBUF just to be safe.
In the past I have used "work item creation" to set the date and have not had a problem. I recall someone telling me that there is a bug when using "Expressions". Is this true or am I missing something? Is there an OSS note for this?

go to the workflow log of the workitem, click extras-->technical data and then the tab Deadline Data.
Make sure that this information is there.
If it isn't then you need to make sure that the expression has the correct time data and correct format.
If this is there, then check in the job logs if the deadline monitoring job is working correctly.
If this is also working, you should search OSS for a solution or create a new message when you don't find any.

Log Entries not sorted in Problem work items

We have noticed that the Log Entries in all Problem work items appear to be randomly sorted. You can manually sort them by clicking on the column headers.
Log entries for Service Request and Incident work items are sorted by Created date as default which I guess is how most people would want them. Has anyone else noticed this or can this be configured locally somehow?

And this is hard-coded, if you want to sort them by date, we should click Date Time.

Error in WEB IC FOR WORK ITEM "Choose an assignment reason"

We are getting an error in WEB IC where user is trying to resubmit the work item by giving the resubmission date, re submission reason , Status, and sub status
but when users are trying to save it they are getting an error i.e. "Choose an assignment reason" and they are not able to complete the process
I know there is config for maintaining "Define Reasons for Assignment of Work Items" in SPRO under work items, but this config is not applicable since we are not assigning work item to a new unit and/or a new collection specialist, or removing any assignment. we are just re submitting the work items
Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

Just a thought - on a couple of my previous projects we had some custom CRM Fron-end validation between Work Item Sub Status and either re-assignment reason and/or Closing result code.
Perhaps check with your Development support team to ensure no such cross-validation exists upon saving.

How do you use the "Item Containing Start/End Date" in a Calendar?

I want to do a calendar where the days shown will be conditional to a certain interval. Now I though I could achieve that using the Item Containing Start Date of a calendar. But it doesn't seem to work. In the help it says :
Enter an item in the application which holds the start date of the calendar. The format of the date in this item must be YYYYMMDD.
This is what I did here

I have 3 fields. 2 for the Start Date and End Date and 1 for the "Date Item" parameter. Only the latter has an effect on the calendar display, the calendar only displays the month of the "Date Item" (in monthly mode).
Wether or not I check "Begin at Start of Interval", it doesn't affect the way those fields are affecting the Calendar.
So, how do we use that "Item Containing Start/End Date" parameter?

Leave Request work items are not showing in SBWP TCODE under OUTBOX .

I used work flow 12300111 for leave request process and I activated that work flow.
I applied leave through ESS from portal(Employee login)employee sends a leave request sends good,
and I got Leave request(work items) Managers in box(uwl in Manager Login in portal).
Manger Approve the leave request has been approved successfully.
can I check whether leave request is processed in R/3.
in tcode se38-RPTARQDBVIEW - UNDER leave request(Leave)->STATUS>COMPLETED,
But in r/3 i execute the Tcode SBWP...
here is no work items are not showing in outbox..

it wont be shown in outbox of SBWP
you need to check via SWIA or rptarqdbview or SWI5 for the user
these are java based tasks so will be done in UWL. you can see only the tasks but after approval they are disappeared.
The outbox shows the last 30 days by default. This default cannot be
changed. This 30 days selection period is always set when you enter
the outbox. However, the user can change the selection period by
clicking the button 'Change selection period' on top of the grid
control but this as you know will be reset once you log out.
This is how the mapping from the
backend workplace folders to the UWL tabs should work:
UWL tab                        Backend folder
Notifications                  Deadline Messages
Tasks-> Completed Tasks        Outbox -> Workitems executed by me
Tracking -> My Requests        Outbox -> Started Workflows
Tracking -> Forwarded          Outbox -> Forwarded workitems

VA42 user exit to update contract start and end dates at Item level

Hi Experts,
                  I need to update contract start and end dates at Item level in 'VA42' transaction, for this i am using user-exit 'USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION' in the include 'MV45AFZZ'. i am able to display the data into item level through my coding but the data is not getting updated into 'VEDA'
Note: No need to change contract start date and end date in header level. Only at item level i want to change dates.

Error: You are not a receiver of the work item in Leave Request Approval

Hi all,
I have copied the standard leave request workflow and done the customization as per my requirement.
Agent assignment for all the tasks are General Tasks.
We are facing below error when we are trying to approve the leave request from MSS UWL.
"You are not a receiver of the work item.".
This started happening after implementing the note 1501377 which is for clearing the approved leave request
workitems from UWL .
i have gone through the threads related to this issue and tried given solution but no success .
Please let me know if anything else is missing since its happening after implementing the note.

Able to resolve the issue :-).
i was using Fork since my workflow is a two level process.
so the workflow was travelling to both branches one was in ready state another was in waiting state(48hours deadline)
having different agents.
i debugged the 1501377 note code when leave is approved it is looking at last workitem of the request which is waiting state workitem in my case and I was trying to approve the leave from user who is in ready state. then it throws the error.
So i have changed the design of workflow. i have done below things for two level process.
i will have requested end for approval task with outcome in that branch i kept second level approver. My questions
1) i am planning to do write below code to post the entries into infotypes after approval by managers. is it ok or any suggestions?

2) how to complete the WF if the 1st manager misses the deadline and WF goes to second manager?

Requested end date must be later than requested start date in Service Request

I am facing a new problem please help
I am currently working on service request.I am facing a problem in the date management there.In my service request i have 5 statuses .One of my status is "Pending with consumer".I am using duration settings of service request.By duration settings , i am calculating the duration for which its pending with consumer.I am having 2 response profile one is 24*7 and other is having 9 working hours.In the service request from the SLA configuration i am calculating the escalation date & Time .I need to add the pending with consumer duration with the escalation date and time.I am facing a problem , i am explaining whole problem ..
Let say if the pending with consumer duration is 1440 minutes(that is 24 hours) .I am adding the minutes to the escalation date through the date rule.
I am facing problem that if the service profile is 24*7 then there is no problem but if it is having the 9 hours working service profile then after adding the minutes to it the escalation date is changing to 4 days ahead which is wrong.
I need to add only those minutes for which it is pending with consumer in working hours for the 9 hours service profile
I need to dynamically determine the working hours from the duration then add it to escalation dates when the status is changed from pending with consumer.
Please suggest a badi will work or how to do it.Its urgent as i need to give demo.I will appreciate a quick reply.Please reply

Leave Request Workitem error Work item cannot be executed in status COMPLET

Hi All,
In case of leave request application when one particular manager is trying to approve the leqave request he is getting the error message
Work item 000000003046 cannot be executed in status COMPLETED
when i check in workflow log i am getting the workitem id for the dialog task it is 0000000002111
work item id 000000003046 mentioned in the workflows is for my background task which is already completed.
This is happening on production server. Other managers are able approve and reject the leave.

Here are you suggesting some new sap note? which will revert to the previous code or something like that.

Error when starting work item

Hi
We are having SRM5.0.
Trying to create Contract. Workflow Without approval of contract(WS1400086)is activated and start conditions also no workflow activated.
Contract is created and getting message Contract created.
But when tried to release the contract it shows "Awaiting approval".
In Workflow log (SWI1)it shows error."Error when starting work item xxxx".
What could be the reason. Please let me know the solution if anyone of you come across such error.

It is maintained as General task already.
It seems the workflow task WS14000085 does not have definition.
When checked in SWDD for the above teask there are no steps defined for that workflow.
SAP says that we need to define and action for workflow WS14000085.
But what is the procedure to define the workflow.
I presume this is the standard workflow and it should be defined by default when it comes along with the SRM package.
Anyone of you know how to define the workflow and activate the same?
