Work/Master Repository upgrade error!! SOS!!

We give production support for a project. We installed ODI and configured it to accept the existing Work and Master repositories. It worked as it should. But when we installed ODI in another m/c with the same connections and Work and Master repositories, it threw an error stating that Master Repository is not up to date and that we need to upgrade it. We upgraded both master and work repositories but the error still persists. We are unable to open any of the GUIs- Designer/Operator/Topology Manager.
Help!!

Hi,
Try just copy the odi install directory from the place where is working to the new one.... (alll orahome_1) and launch Designer from it.
Works for you?

• Import/Export uses odiparam.bat for work/master Repository

When I do a import/export, the command appears to use the odiparam.bat file to pickup the work/master repository connections. This makes sense for the export, but the import has an optional parameter for the work repository. From what I can tell, this parameter is ignored (or am I doing something wrong). Regardless, of whether or not it is used, how would ODI know the connection (user/password) information if it was used. This would seem to indicate that the user WAS picked up from the odiparam.bat file.
Am I thinking about this correctly or have I missed something?

How are you trying to do the import/export?
If you are importing the obejcts in designer - it will use the credentials you specified when you connected.

Dear,
we're pointing our content to an WebDAV-compliant server(IIS) instead of KM of SAP Portal. Authorization to that is working fine and when the check-in process start, it creating folders and we are getting the java errors, when AE is trying to check-in the actual content files. Error Screen shot below,
Could you please let us know, what changes you have done from IIS side to successful check-in to the Master Repository and what is the system requirement to resolve this(I mean, version of AE and Java and IIS like that). it would be really appreciated, if you could share your views on this.
Appreciate your kind response.

• SUNOPSIS to ODI migration : AS/400 error in work repository upgrade

Hi,
We're migrating SUNOPSIS v3.2.02.19 to ODI 10.1.3.5.0, with repositories on DB2 AS/400.
We achieve to migrate master repository without any problem, and we try now to migrate the work repository and we have the following error :
+java.sql.SQLException: [SQL0404] La valeur destinée à la colonne ou la variable TABLE_NAME est trop longue.+
at com.ibm.as400.access.JDError.throwSQLException(JDError.java:520)

at com.sunopsis.sql.SnpsQuery.executeUpdate(SnpsQuery.java)
at com.sunopsis.dwg.xml.DwgXmlSession.execute(DwgXmlSession.java)
It seems that as column name, table name or variable name in migration process is too long, but i don't have any ideas of which. What can i solve this problem ? Any solution or workaround ?
thanks for help !

Check out the metalink document for upgrade
Best Practices For Upgrading From Sunopsis To Oracle Data Integrator [ID 437223.1]
Important things to be aware of if you are upgrading from Sunopsis V3:
Sunopsis V3 uses JVM 1.3.1 while ODI 10.1.3 requires a minimum of JVM 1.4.2. This is not an issue if you are upgrading from Sunopsis v4.
Sunopsis V3 allows mixed-case Context Codes, which are automatically converted to upper-case in V4 and ODI versions. To fix the Issue, manual updates of all Context Codes referenced in the Work Repository must be performed. These updates should be made on all Work Repositories related to a same Master Repository.
In Sunopsis V3 DB2UDB Technology definition (\lib\scripts\xml\TECH_IBMDB2UDB.xml), The BLOB is defined with a size of 2G. The Master Repository creation fails at
CREATE TABLE SNP_DATA ( I_DATA NUMERIC(10) NOT NULL, DATA_CONTENTS BLOB(2G)
with error message :
SQLCODE -355 SQLSTATE 42993 SQLERRMC: DATA_CONTENTS
The error means that the column is too large for logging. 2G exceeds DB2 1G limit for Blob datatypes. This is fixed in Sunopsis 4.0.
After upgrading Sunopsis v3 Master to ODI, the user will still run into this issue if he tries to export this upgraded Master and import it into another Master using mimport.bat.
Solution: Modify the upgraded V3 Master Repository TECH_IBMDB2UDB.xml file and change the 2g to 100M. i.e.
<Field name="DdlLongrawMask" type="java.lang.String">BLOB(100M)</Field>
Then try the import again.

Hi , Iam Working on SAP Learning Solution Implementation,we are using LSOAE200 as a Authoring Tool. When i am Transfering the Learning Net from the authoring tool to the master repository which is in portal, I am facing the following error:

com.sap.hcm.ls.shared.datamodel.ebo.EBOCatalogException: Type=E, ID=NR, Number=751, Parameter='', Message='For object , number range interval does not exist
we are able to make it out that the error is something which is not able to find the number ranges in R/3. Can any one of you please suggest me where exactly to create the number ranges in R/3.

Hi,
Please check table T77IV and see whether you haver assigned a number range for the object you want to transfer the data.
Please let me know in case you require any further clarifications.

• Export and Import of master repository - error snpuser not found

We had installed ODI on a windows server and created physicla and logical topologies etc and developed some models and projects.
But we had sone all of this while still pointing to the demo master repository using the HypersonicSQL. This means we always have to have the 'Start Demo Agent' running etc.
So we wanted to move to an Oracle based master repository. I have used the 'Create Master Repository' function to create a new repository using ORacle thinnet driver and this is all OK and I can sign in to the SUPERVISOR user.
But when I export our existing repository from the 'HypersonocSQL' demo one to a ZIP file and then use the 'Import Master Repository' to create a master repository in the Oracle using thinnet driver etc - firstly it removes the repository details that I originally created - fair enough - then creates it all again but from the ZIP file.
The SNP_ tables all exist in the oracle database user and I can see that in SNP_USER there is the record for SUPERVISOR etc.
But when I try to sign in to this through topology manager or security manager - as SUPERVISOR I immediately get the error 'SNPUser does not exist'
Am I doing something wrong with exporting my 'demo' master repository and trying to import it in to the new Oracle repository ?

thanks - but that is effectivley what I did - used the repository import from my exported ZIP file - and it all imported OK - but the error on login to topology manager afterwards is that the snp user does not exist.
Although I initially used the 'Master Repository Creation' I then adaondoned this - dropped and recreated my Oracle user 'snpm' that owns the master repository and used the import repository approach.
I am trying to sign in as the standard SUPERVISOR user (that existed OK in the Hypersonic master repository that was exported to the ZIP file) and also trying other users that I know existed in the Hypersonic reporitory that I exported - same problem. I can see in Oracle SQL*Plus that in the SNP_USERS table the SUPERVISOR user exists.
If I do instead carry out a standard 'Create Master Repository' and do NOT try to import anything then it works OK and I can sign in to the Topology Manager as SUPERVISOR.

• Work repository not bound to Master Repository

Hi All,
I have created a schema with username ODIW and password ODIW and created a work repository named WORKREP1 in the ODI topology. Now when i am logging in to the client through the newly created WORK repository no error is shown and i am able to login. But when i am starting the managed server an error throws 'oracle.odi.core.config.RepositoriesNotBoundException: Repositories not bound'.(during the installation of ODI 11.1.1.3.0, it had prompted for a work repository name and i had given ODI_WORK _REP but i have now forgotten the password...thats why i had to create another work repository schema)....will it hamper while executing scenario.
In the odparams.sh file the parameter ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=ODI_WORK_REP but i want to change to WORKREP1(Is it possible?)
I have kept the master repository schema same
Please help on this

• Error while importing master repository of old version.

Hi,
I am trying to import Master Repository by using import utility of ODI.
The master repository i am importing is of old version.
How can I import this old version of Master Repository in ODI?
Thanks.

Hey thanks everybody for the reply..
My requirement is :
I have been provided with some folders of Master,Work,Project,Model and Scenario.
One exp file of Repositories is also there.
I was able to import(import utility of ODI tool) folder of 11.1.1.6 but when I try to do the same for 6.0.0 it is giving me the above mentioned error.
I created a Master and Work Repository.
Now how should i proceed further. What to do with the exp file???
How that exp file will create the repository database for me??
I have gone through your site.. but how will i pull the data through that exp file in my database??
It might be a database question, but please do answer as it is co-related to this.
Thanks.

Click New
Fill up (Login Name) <I choose an Alias>
User - SUPERVISOR
Password - SUNOPSIS
-------Database Connection (Master Repository)-----------------
User - <my database user - same I used to create the Master Repository>
Password <same as above>
Driver List - Oracle JDBC Driver
Driver Name - oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
URL - jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host_name>:1521:<database_name>
So when I click in Test buttom, I got Connected Succesful, but when I click in OK I got the error below:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: .\snps_login_security.xml (Access Denied)
So does someone has any idea about how to solve it?

Hi,
Can you plz check ur bin folder of ur ODI installation whether u have
snps_login_security

I believe the Topology is unable to access these files .....
can you chk on this front........
Bcoz when you click test it does not write any information to these files ..... ...but when u press OK it has to access and write details abt ur Topology login details....

• Create 2 work repositores with one master repository

Hi all,
I have a corrupted work repositoy and I want to create one new work repository within the same master repository.
My questions :
1) Is it possible to keep the same Oracle user, the same oracle schema for this new new repository?
2) If yes why do I get a unique contstraint errors such as
ORA-00001: unique constraint (SNPM.AK_CONNECT) violated when I try to create one ?
Thanks for you answer.

You need an empty schema to create a new repository so you will need to drop and recreate your corrupted schema if you want to use them again

you are using Oracle .. grant connect, resource to <your_user>. These two rolesa have sufficient access to db to create the master repository.

Copy the content of the oracledi sub-directory of the temporary directory to your Oracle Data Integrator installation directory. The temporary directory content should overwrite the Oracle Data Integrator installation directory content.)

• Error while creating master repository.......

Hi All,
While creating master repository........
Test Connection is successful.
After that i had selected technology as Oracle
when i clicked on ok, one error has pop up: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
What i have to do after this....?
Regards,
Dinesh

Which model are you talking about?
I'm quiet sure that you have to change the TECH_ORACLE.xml.
Are you sure that u have modified the file
oracledi\lib\scripts\xml\TECH_Oracle.xml
and not the file
oracledi\impexpTECH_Oracle.xml
For the certification :
The Repository can be installed on any relational database engine supporting ANSI ISO 89 syntax, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase AS Enterprise, IBM DB2 UDB, IBM DB2/400, etc.
You can also use for evaluation purposes the demo repository provided with Oracle Data Integrator. This repository is based on an Hypersonic SQL Database. and requires no particular installation.
I don't have any other information sorry!
