Work repository not bound to Master Repository

Hi All,
I have created a schema with username ODIW and password ODIW and created a work repository named WORKREP1 in the ODI topology. Now when i am logging in to the client through the newly created WORK repository no error is shown and i am able to login. But when i am starting the managed server an error throws 'oracle.odi.core.config.RepositoriesNotBoundException: Repositories not bound'.(during the installation of ODI 11.1.1.3.0, it had prompted for a work repository name and i had given ODI_WORK _REP but i have now forgotten the password...thats why i had to create another work repository schema)....will it hamper while executing scenario.
In the odparams.sh file the parameter ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=ODI_WORK_REP but i want to change to WORKREP1(Is it possible?)
I have kept the master repository schema same
Please help on this

Hi Gatha,
Yes thats correct.In the odiparams.sh file my work repository name shown is ODI_WORK_REP
I think the name should be changed to WORKREP1
Please mention the command for encrypting the password in the odiparams.sh file
Another query is that why i am not able to login to the old work repository

It should not really create any problem , if you create a two work repositories with differenct IDs. But, the error messae you gave suggests , it is something to do with repository IDs. Usually, we get this message , when we try to migrate ODI code within enviroments. However, it does not throw as an error message, it just gives as an information and asks us if we want to register the new work repository ID. We just need to say Yes and continue.
I would suggest to redo everything, recreate repositories again. May be something went wrong while creating repositories.

ODI-10150: Work repository with ID 1 is not bound to master

Hello,
ODI 11g (11.1.1) with database 11g r2
I have created Master repository (odimrep) and
work repository(odiwrep), created from Topology
Before the next step, during this time I was able to login to connect to work repository and able to do all work
Then I went on to created Execution repository (odierep) from topology, created successfully.
After that I could not able to connect to work repository, as I am getting the following error message
oracle.odi.core.config.RepositoriesNotBoundException: ODI-10150: Work repository with ID 1 is not bound to master:
Definition in master ID:1, Name:ODIWREP, Timestamp:1337006142714
Definition in work ID:2, Name:ODIEREP, Timestamp:1337006565503.
.....Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong to configure the Execution repository, do I need to drop everything and start re-create

Export and Import of master repository - error snpuser not found

We had installed ODI on a windows server and created physicla and logical topologies etc and developed some models and projects.
But we had sone all of this while still pointing to the demo master repository using the HypersonicSQL. This means we always have to have the 'Start Demo Agent' running etc.
So we wanted to move to an Oracle based master repository. I have used the 'Create Master Repository' function to create a new repository using ORacle thinnet driver and this is all OK and I can sign in to the SUPERVISOR user.
But when I export our existing repository from the 'HypersonocSQL' demo one to a ZIP file and then use the 'Import Master Repository' to create a master repository in the Oracle using thinnet driver etc - firstly it removes the repository details that I originally created - fair enough - then creates it all again but from the ZIP file.
The SNP_ tables all exist in the oracle database user and I can see that in SNP_USER there is the record for SUPERVISOR etc.
But when I try to sign in to this through topology manager or security manager - as SUPERVISOR I immediately get the error 'SNPUser does not exist'
Am I doing something wrong with exporting my 'demo' master repository and trying to import it in to the new Oracle repository ?

thanks - but that is effectivley what I did - used the repository import from my exported ZIP file - and it all imported OK - but the error on login to topology manager afterwards is that the snp user does not exist.
Although I initially used the 'Master Repository Creation' I then adaondoned this - dropped and recreated my Oracle user 'snpm' that owns the master repository and used the import repository approach.
I am trying to sign in as the standard SUPERVISOR user (that existed OK in the Hypersonic master repository that was exported to the ZIP file) and also trying other users that I know existed in the Hypersonic reporitory that I exported - same problem. I can see in Oracle SQL*Plus that in the SNP_USERS table the SUPERVISOR user exists.
If I do instead carry out a standard 'Create Master Repository' and do NOT try to import anything then it works OK and I can sign in to the Topology Manager as SUPERVISOR.

Create 2 work repositores with one master repository

Hi all,
I have a corrupted work repositoy and I want to create one new work repository within the same master repository.
My questions :
1) Is it possible to keep the same Oracle user, the same oracle schema for this new new repository?
2) If yes why do I get a unique contstraint errors such as
ORA-00001: unique constraint (SNPM.AK_CONNECT) violated when I try to create one ?

You need an empty schema to create a new repository so you will need to drop and recreate your corrupted schema if you want to use them again

Create new Master Repository - oracle technology exist in logical topology

I have created a new master repository using the 'Create Master Repository' function in to an ORacle database user. This was all successful and I can sign in to topology manager as SUPERVISOR.
However I notice that the physical topology includes the 'oracle' technology in the list but this is NOT present in the logical topology.
When I import our models and projects that were developed elsewhere they fail becasue they are based on the oracle technology and this does not exist in the logical topology.
If I try to create the oracle technology or import it I get an error index violation on AK_TECHNO which is the index on the SNP_TECHNO table.
In the physical topology the oracle technology is shown as being both 'physical' and 'logical' (both check boxes are checked).
Any ideas ?

Turned off the hide unused technologoes and there they all are - including Oracle.................
So that explains why it appeared at some point before - once some data servers had been defined etc...........
I have my dataservers and schemas loaded now in the physical topology - but they are still not shoinwg in the logical topology - I think this is due to the data server in physical not being in the correct context. When I click the physical dataserver and go in to the contexts tab and choose global I get the error message (logical topology not configured for this context).

Transport Service and master repository

Dear Experts,
I'm meeting unexpected system malfunctioning using the Transport Service on our Repository Server (CRM Release 2007 / 5.0 SP 09)
I am trying to push runtime objects to the CRM server but the operation fails. The system shows the messages:
- Sending to server Changelist: Failed
- Current repository is not a master repository. Data sent cannot be put in the run time queue...
- Pushing runtime objects from the server to the mobile client: Failed
- Repository is not listed as Master repository on the server

Import/Export uses odiparam.bat for work/master Repository

When I do a import/export, the command appears to use the odiparam.bat file to pickup the work/master repository connections. This makes sense for the export, but the import has an optional parameter for the work repository. From what I can tell, this parameter is ignored (or am I doing something wrong). Regardless, of whether or not it is used, how would ODI know the connection (user/password) information if it was used. This would seem to indicate that the user WAS picked up from the odiparam.bat file.
Am I thinking about this correctly or have I missed something?

How are you trying to do the import/export?
If you are importing the obejcts in designer - it will use the credentials you specified when you connected.

Have you set up a connection to your work repository in your odiparams.sh file?
"ODI_SECU_WORK_REP=<database name>"
Note: This file can be found in <install letter>:\<Oracle Home>\oracledi\bin (version 10.1.3.5).
Not sure if that is the problem, but you might want to check...

Work/Master Repository upgrade error!! SOS!!

We give production support for a project. We installed ODI and configured it to accept the existing Work and Master repositories. It worked as it should. But when we installed ODI in another m/c with the same connections and Work and Master repositories, it threw an error stating that Master Repository is not up to date and that we need to upgrade it. We upgraded both master and work repositories but the error still persists. We are unable to open any of the GUIs- Designer/Operator/Topology Manager.

Try just copy the odi install directory from the place where is working to the new one.... (alll orahome_1) and launch Designer from it.

Most of the time this error is coming from a wrong psservername parameter definition in configuration.properties of your Webserver. Be sure you can ping the servername or IP address defined, and the port is the Jolt port of the AppServer domain.
Please, show us what's the value. And also your PTools, Weblogic, Tuxedo version and OS used.

Importing Master Repository and Work Repository

Hi,
I need to Import the existing Master and Work repository(XML file) of Production Server on my client ODI.
How should I work around this.
Do I need to create a master repository and then import that file.
Provide a stepwise solution for it.
What else will be required to import to create the same environment?

Hey even if I change the physical server, how it will build all the source and target tables used in server's schema into my schema.
The thing is I want to replicate the task done on server machine.
I have all the ODI objects but from where I can manage the database objects from server to my machine.

ODI work repository and master repository account locked unknown reason....

It has just happened that the work repository and the master repository has been locked for an unknown reason. It is to be noted that a remote connection to the environment has been done from a different client environment than the one already has been set with. Upon trying to connect the credentials didn't pass and was was found locked for both the work repository and the master repository.
Help with the issue would be much appreciated with suspected causes of such incident.

Hi Andy,
Once there is no "physical" link between the repositories (like a FK for instance) there is no problemn to have distinct technologies.
I already done projects in this way. What are the issues that you are facing?
