Workbench doesnt save or create toplink.xml
Hello,
i'm using the latest patch (9.0.4.8) and when i try to create the deployment xml for the current loaded toplink project no new <projekt>.xml file will be created.
With the toplinkmw.jar from the 9.0.4.7 patch it works fine.
Regards
Dirk
Hello Neil,
no, i get no Exception or Error (or is there a error or log file which i've to check). What I'm wondering, with the 9.0.4.7 the workbench ask me to overwrite an existing file and tells me than that it has finished successfully. With the 9.0.4.8 it only ask for overwrite but never tells me that it has finished successfully.
I will check my environment, because on another Client PC it works very well but there is an very newly TopLink installation only with the latest patch 9.0.4.8 an no oracle client.
Maybe it is a misconfiguration in my environment.
Regards
Dirk

How do I create an XML file through a JSP?
I want to have a JSP which allows the user to create an account with password and this is stored in an XML file. I would like to b e able to amend this XML file with future users of the JSP but I'm not sure how to do this. I can do it using a database converting that to XML and then save the user input but I don't want to use a DB this time. Can some body give me an example. It the closing XML tag I have trouble with. I could amend the file but the previuos entry would close the XML file and then the newest entry would add on in effect an new XML file to the previous. Hope you can understand what I'm saying?!

Missing Conref when I save and reopen an .xml file in FM9
I am running FM9 on Windows 7. We have been using the template and rules files shipped with FM9 and modifying them for our needs. Currently I am experiencing an issue and I'm not at all sure how to resolve it.
I have two pieces of DITA content, they are both reference files created by using the DITA menu and creating a new <reference> file. I have entered my structured content into the two files and I want to include a conref from the source document B into my document A. I insert the conref into document A using the FM DITA menu and save both files as .xml. The files save without any errors. When I open document A the conref text is missing and all that is left is a blank reference element (created by the insertion of the conref). If I open the source document everything is fine. I also have an xref in document A and that seems to be working fine. My coworker is having the exact same issue. I am referencing a reference element with an unordered list.
Also, if I save file A as .fm the conref stays which leads me to believe it has something to do with how FrameMaker is reading the .xml file.
Any assistance would be appreciated,
LauraHi Laura...
If the "auto-load conrefs" option is off, your conrefs will not be rendered. This is "as designed" so that you can disable the conref updating if it's taking too long to rebuild all of the conrefs each time you open a file.. The "auto-load xrefs" option should work the same way, although this may have changed in FM9 since all xrefs are really "fm-xrefs" inside of FM. If the xrefs are rendering the same regardless of the option's setting, then that's a bug (I'd think).
So .. with the auto-load option enabled, your conrefs are working?

How to create a XML Form with confirmation Page
Hi!
I need to create a XML Form that have a confirmation page to enter de data and save it (into XML file).
It's possible to make it with the XML Forms Builder, or I need to make it manual at xml & xsl??
(Sorry about my poor english!)Hi Ernesto,
there is currently no confirmation message available in the XMLForms EditForm. But you can use the "preview" button to show how it looks like, before you are using the "Save" button.

How to save infopath form in XML file
How to save InfoPath form in XML file.
I want every new record in InfoPath form save in XML file and also retrieve these records from XML like databasesHi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to save InfoPath form in XML file.
I have done a test in my SharePoint, Do the following steps:
Create an form library and publish an InfoPath form into it, Then when we create new document into the form library, it is by default that InfoPath form is saved in XML file.

Need help Take out the null values from the ResultSet and Create a XML file
hi,
I wrote something which connects to Database and gets the ResultSet. From that ResultSet I am creating
a XML file. IN my program these are the main two classes Frame1 and ResultSetToXML. ResultSetToXML which
takes ResultSet & Boolean value in its constructor. I am passing the ResultSet and Boolean value
from Frame1 class. I am passing the boolean value to get the null values from the ResultSet and then add those
null values to XML File. When i run the program it works alright and adds the null and not null values to
the file. But when i pass the boolean value to take out the null values it would not take it out and adds
the null and not null values.
Please look at the code i am posing. I am showing step by step where its not adding the null values.
Any help is always appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Different methods of creating an XML Publisher report
Hi All,
Can anyone please advice me on different methods of creating an XML Publisher report.
The method which we us is as follows -
1. Create an RDF file and upload the same in the /REPORTS/US path.
2. create a concurrent program, give output as XML.
3. Create a data definition, but here we do not upload any data definition.
4. Create a template and upload the RTF template.
But I have heard that there is a method wherein we do not have to create the RDF and simply adding the query to the XML file works.
But in that case do we upload anything in tht Data defition also ?
Can anyone please provide me any link or some place where I can read about different methods to create an XML report without the use of an RDF.
Regards,
ShrutiHi Shruti,
There is a method where we need not to create RDF as data defination. You need to write a xml file which we upload as data defination. The short name for this data defination used as short name as concurrent program having executable XDODTEXE.
Sample XML data template :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<dataTemplate name="EmpData" description="Employee Details" version="1.0">
<dataQuery>
<sqlStatement name="Q1">
<![CDATA[select business_group_id, business_group_name
from hrfv_business_groups
where date_to is null
and business_group_id not in (0, 82)
order by business_group_id]]>
</sqlStatement>
<sqlStatement name="Q2">
<![CDATA[select employee_number,
title ,
full_name,
sex ,
date_of_birth,
email_address
from per_all_people_f
where business_group_id = :business_group_id
and current_employee_flag ='Y'
and trunc(sysdate) between effective_start_date and effective_end_date
and rownum<11]]>
</sqlStatement>
</dataQuery>
<dataStructure>
<group name="G_BG" source="Q1">
<element name="BusinessGroupId" value ="business_group_id"/>
<element name="BusinessGroupName" value ="business_group_name"/>
<group name="G_EMP" source="Q2">
<element name="EmpNumber" value ="employee_number"/>
<element name="Title" value ="title"/>
<element name="FullName" value ="full_name"/>
<element name="Sex" value ="sex"/>
<element name="DateOfBirth" value ="date_of_birth"/>
<element name="EmailAddress" value ="email_address"/>
</group>
</group>
</dataStructure>
</dataTemplate>
This data template generates xml data which prints output on rtf template.
Hope this will help. Let me know for more info. -

No automagic buttons for it. You could do it manually in code view but there are online generators and desktop apps that are better suited to the task.

Where am I going wrong?
I am trying to create Excel XML spreadsheets, because the excel files created using RTF templates are very huge in size. And it is taking an unacceptable amount of time to open the file. Is there any other solution to overcome this performance issue?
Regards
NishkaNishka,
Looks like your XSL stylesheet is missing the XML header at the top.
So normally it would look like:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet....>
</xsl:stylesheet>
as an Example a stylesheet which just outputs a field:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:xdoxslt="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.apps.xdo.template.rtf.XSLTFunctions">

db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder ();
doc = db.newDocument ();
root = doc.createElement ("album");
doc.appendChild (root);
poline= doc.createElement("album-name");
root.appendChild(poline);
//I am getting the ClassCastException in this statement
xmldoc = (XmlDocument) doc;
fos = new java.io.FileOutputStream("xyz.xml");
xmldoc.write(fos);
fos.close();
}I am not too much of an expert on this issue, but I did a search. Maybe this page can help or point you in the right direction.

Creating an xml file from recordset
Hi...
XML newbie here - so.
Is it possible to create and xml file from a recordset?
I need to create a datafeed of our e-commerce products.
Also, some of the db data contains HTML Code (product
description field),
how will this effect the xml file?
Another problem is that my xml file needs to contain url's
for the products
and product images. My ASP pages contain these URL in hard
code and then
pull the actual file names from the db
Hope that makes some sense
Thanks for any help
AndyHi David
Thanks for your help.
I think it will have to be option 1 as i am using Access DB.
I don't know how to go about it but will serach good old
Google.
Here is my recordset below, that pulls the required data from
Access.
The product and product image URL's need to be in the xml
file but only the
product image name and product id are in the database, e.g
image name
(imagename.jpg) productid (21)
The actual URL's are hardcoded in my ASP pages, e.g <img
src="products/medium/<%=(RSDetails.Fields.Item("Image").Value)%>"
Not sure if this makes things any clearer :-|
Thanks Again
Andy
