Workflow for content delete

Hey,
Is it possible to set up a workflow for deleting content from Content Server?
Thanks,
Mitch

No.
But you may use the Archiver http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10792/c08_migration.htm#CHDFAJGF or Records Management (if you want more formal processes) http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10733/toc.htm

  • Workflow for content management

    Hi,
We're evaluating Oracle Portal at the moment.
Is it possible for the content changes to go thru a workflow? (author > editor > editor-in-chief)
I know Portal can integrate with Oracle Workflow, but that's on the application side, not the management side.
    regards,
    eric

    Hi,
I have heard that in the next release of Portal (the version that will ship with 9iAS v2), you will be able to set up content management workflow. Perhaps one of the developers can provide confirmation of this.

  • AE 5.1 and 5.2 - Configuring parallel workflows for "Delete" Request type

Has anyone configured parallel workflows for the "Delete" Request type?  I want to configure 1 for SAP and 1 for non-SAP applications, but have been unable to do it successfully.
The initiators I have created that do not work are:
    1 - SAP initiator:
    SAP application with "OR" condition
Request Type = Delete with  "AND" condition
    2 - Non-SAP initiator:
Non SAP application 1 with "OR" condition
Non SAP application 2 with "OR" condition
Non SAP application 3 with "OR" condition
Request Type = Delete with  "AND" condition
When I create a request to Delete a user with SAP app and Non SAP app I get the error:  "Error in creating request. Multiple Initiators, [NON SAP DELETE, SAP DELETE] Found."
Based on what I am reading on p. 58 of the AE52ConfigGuide.pdf, this should be possible to do.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    This is my understanding.,
A request cannot have more than one initiator. You cannot trigger multiple initiators for one single request. In your case both attributes SAP & Non SAP application are given with OR condition which makes both the initiators alike. As mentioned in the documentation the request for deletion can be made to happen in both SAP & Non SAP application by having forked path (for this the initiator should be OR Application SAP OR Non SAP Application AND Request Type Delete). Given the other option then it should have different initiator for SAP and Non SAP applications by giving them with AND condition.

  • Content deletion options in URM10g!!

    Hi,
I would like to get a help for the following query.
1). 'My Retention Assignments --> Pending Approvals --> My/Other Dispositions --> <Disposition Action Folder> --> List Disposition content and Record --> Disposition content and Record list'.
In the above page we could see the contents waiting for the approval. If the user approves the disposition action on the Pending Approval page (i.e.: Approval Delete All Revisions) it will affect all the contents under that folder and delete all the contents and its previous revisions.
I want to select and delete the contents individually by selecting the check box. Is it possible to add a new menu called *'Delete'* in that page, so that user can go and delete the contents by selecting the check box.
Please help me on to resolve the above issues and various option for content deletion...
    Thanks

This very much depends on what you mean by "any entry ... in the Database".
You can check, however, yourself. Here's a link to db scheme: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/documentation/admin/troubleshooting_10en.pdf (see App A. Understanding the Database).
You might want to see namely the tables:
    - Revisions
    - FileCache, FileStorage (if you stored documents in the database)
    - ArchiveHistory, DeletedRows
    - IdcColl1, IdcColl2 (fulltext indexes)
    - Sct* tables (if you use ContentTracker)
    - WorkflowHistory (if you use workflows)
My guess is that you might find the deleted items at least in some history tables.

  • How can we implement workflow for Deleted content

    Hi Experts,
whenever we delete a content , It never went into Workflow.
I want when user delete any content, It should go into workflow. When approver approves it, only then content item should actually deleted. If approver rejects it, content item should not get deleted.
Is there any way to achieve this ??
    thanks

Several things jump out about how you may be using delete.
First is that delete rights are set up as separate and distinct from Read and Write (contribute) rights. This is true even for content authors.
There is good reasoning behind this. Basically, because deleting items has special and often regulated meaning, giving users delete permission should be a very intentional action and never a default.
Second, using the "expiry" functionality is a much better and safer option in most cases. Expiring a piece of content removes it from visibility to all except the sysadmin. Expiring content effectively "soft deletes" the item from the user experience while allowing the administrators to still recover the item if necessary. Another advantage of expiring content rather than deleting it is that as the content approaches the expiry date or as an expiry action is triggered, this can automatically trigger actions like a workflow review, email notification, BPEL service call etc. This gives you advance warning as well as the ability to intercept, review, and sign off on the action. You can also run batch jobs to archive and store or archive / delete "expired" items if you determine that you still need to do this.
Finally, if you have considered the above options and still determine that you need to capture "delete requests" then the best option is to write a custom component that intercepts the delete service request and triggers a workflow, notification, expiry or other action.
Remember that when you delete an item you must consider whether or not you are deleting just the latest released revision or all revisions or some selection of revisions. OOTB, UCM allows those with delete permissions to delete revisions one at a time. The repository manager applets provide admins with a bit more batching flexibility.
    Hope that helps,
    Warmly,

  • Cross reference markers are deleted for content in text insets

Cross reference markers are deleted for content text insets. I currently have a chapter that is built from several Import by Reference files. I added an introductory paragraph with cross reference links to heading 2 titles in these text insets. Everything works and saves normally, although the cross reference markers disappear from the chapter when files are checked out a few days later. An extra Heading 2 is also added to the end of the document.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a chapter composed of several text insets.
    2. Create a list of cross references to headings in these text insets at the beginning of the chapter.
    3. Check in/check out the files from a source control product.
    What went wrong?:
The cross reference markers are gone, resulting in broken cross references. An empty Heading 2 is also added to the end of the document following the final text inset
    What should have happened?:
The markers should remain and the heading 2 tag should not be applied to the document.
    Product version:
    Product: FrameMaker
    Version: 7.2
    Platform information:Windows XP
    Hardware: Dell Latitude D620
OS Version: Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
    RAM: 1GB

Thanks for the information, Van. We did try several techniques including adding the insertion point immediately after the text inset before the normal paragraph tag, but none seemed to consistently work. I will investigate this scenario futher, though, in light of your comments.
We have managed to determine a workaround for this issue by avoiding a string of text insets. For some reason, using multiple text insets without separating them with normal text causes most of the problems after we add the files to our source control system. The situaton is not ideal, but it does work for the time being anyway.

  • How to set the conditions for item deletion approval workflow?

    Hi,
I have created approval workflow for item modifications ie, when user try to modify an item, it will send a mail to Project Manager. For that I set the conditions in Change the behavior of the overall task: 1. When the task process starts 2 . When the task
     process completes .
Change the behavior of the single task: 1.when a task is Pending.
    [I followed this https://www.nothingbutsharepoint.com/sites/eusp/Pages/5-Steps-to-Enhance-SharePoint-2010-Approval-Workflow.aspx ]
My Requirement is that I want to set this same workflow for the scenario: when the user deletes an item it will send a mail (intimation mail for item deletion) to Project Manager. here i dont want to send modification mails when user deletes an item.
When user modifies an item: 1. intimation mail, 2. Approve/Reject mail 3. intimation for approval / rejection mail.
When user deletes an item: 1. intimation mail.
How can we set it in one approval workflow?? where i have to set the condition for sending either item modification mails or deletion mail.
    Thanks,
    Praveen ji

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to start approval workflow when item deleted.
You should first make some changes to trigger the workflow when you delete the item.
You can use the Event Receiver to achieve it.
In order to trigger workflow on item delete you need to create event receivers and from event receiver call the workflow already attached with list.
    http://ravendra.wordpress.com/sharepoint-workflow-on-list-item-delete/
You can also create custom action to start the workflow, you can refer to the following article, then modify the workflow as your need.

  • Best Workflow for Deleting?

    Hi Folks.
Would anyone like to suggest the best workflow for deleting files after a project? Let's assume that i have no future need for any of the captured footage or PE7 files. It would be helpful to know what the default locations are for all the footage and files that are now on my computer.
    Thanks, Stan

In my book I recommend that, whenever you start a new project, you create a new folder for it. That way, all of your captured video, project files, rendered video and scratch files are in the same folder. Removing it all from your hard drive is as simple as deleting the folder.
If you didn't do that, things get a bit more complicated. Once you've backed up what you want to keep, you can manually delete the captured video, rendered files, etc., from the sub-folders -- but you'll need to do it manually. Hopefully the files will be recognizable by the names you gave your project and capture files when you created them.

  • OOTB Approval Workflow for a Content Type sends emails for 2 content types

My environment: SP 2013 Server (WFE-APP) + SQL
I have a few Content Types configured in a document library. Every content type has an OOTB approval workflow to fire an e-mail to the approver on each new/edit.
When I create a new file for testing, it first becomes checked out with no properties added. I then edit the properties to specify its content type and other fields. When I check in the document, SharePoint sends out an e-mail to the approver for that content
type which is correct. What SharePoint also does for this very same file is sends out an approval request e-mail for the default content type for that library which is something else than a desired content type.
This is something I cannot understand. I thought that the workflows start on a file 'Check in'. If I check in a file that is a certain content type, why does the approval for a default content type for a library trigger as well?

    Hi,
Is it SharePoint 2013 workflow or previous 2010 model workflow? If it's SharePoint 2013, how are you associating workflow to content type. As per
MSDN "Unlike previous versions, SharePoint 2013 does not support workflows that are scoped to a
content type. However, the messaging infrastructure is extensible, so it can support
any arbitrary scope. As a developer, you can set to", workflow association with content type (which was possible in SharePiont 2010) is no longer available out of the box. You need to do it manually, (not sure how as there's no documentation yet
    from MS) and programmatically.

  • Share your exporting workflow for HD content

    Dear Members of the Forum,
Could you please give me a piece of advice (or direct me to relevant posts) regarding setting the export video-audio settings in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3? Basically I’m looking for an Adobe Premiere Pro workflow for DV AVI and AVCHD files.
I have HD footage shot in both DV AVI - 30F(Canon HV40) and AVCHD – 30F (Canon HF200) formats. My goal is to export the edited footage with less possible quality loss into a format that could be played on the well known Western Digital HD Media Player: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=735 or burned onto a BD disc.
What I’ve tried so far is to export the dv.avi footage shot with my Canon HV40 utilizing the ‘Movie’ preset in Adobe using both ‘Microsoft DV AVI’ and ‘Uncompressed Microsoft AVI’ settings. In both of the cases the exported file was not recognized by the WD hd media player. I'm not sure if it will be recognized by my BD player if I burn it on a BD disc.
Exporting in MPEG2 format through the ‘Adobe Media Encoder’ machine was successful and playable but naturally suffered from significantly reduced quality of the output compared to the input.
In short, what is the workflow you follow when exporting hd footage and aiming to achieve little quality loss in the output?
    Thank you.

Thank you Ann. I followed your advice but still face some problems. Here is what I did:
    1. Took my original AVCHD footage and converted it in .AVI files using Cineform Prospect HD.
    2. Imported and edited the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
    3. Exported the edited footage using the 'MPEG-2 Blu Ray' preset in the Adobe Media Encoder
    4. Ended up with two files: the video in .M2V and audio in WAV.
This posed a new dilemma: how do I play these files on my Western Digital HD Media Player?
Should I use another converter to combine the M2V and WAV files into one playable file?
Or, I should use a software to burn those two files onto a DVD and play them on my DVD player?
I want to avoid burning BD discs as I don't have a BD burner at the moment.
In short, please help me understand how to export HDV edited content --> HD files with less possible loss of quality and to be able to
play the exported files either on on a regular DVD or even better to play them from
an external hard drive connected to my Western Digital HD Media Player. Here are the formats that the player supports:
    Video - AVI (Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4), MPG/MPEG, VOB, MKV (h.264, x.264, AVC, MPEG1/2/4, VC-1), TS/TP/M2T (MPEG1/2/4, AVC, VC-1), MP4/MOV (MPEG4, h.264), M2TS, WMV9
I guess many people faced the same predicament but I cannot find literature on the topic. Please help.
    Thank you!

  • Efficient workflow for annual report

I've been busy last days to make an annual report. The source file was a 100+ page Word document with lot's of tables with different content and sizes, and legal texts with multi level list styles.
I think I got most out the importing of the Word file and converting all Word styling to the right Indesign styles, but the tables seem to be very time consuming still, as some are just text listings and others contain many numbers in various structures, sub headings and specifically highlighted cells.
I bet there's a much more efficient workflow for this and I try to find out about it. I'm afraid I couldn't ask the financial people to start working in a XML workflow, Incopy or anything much different from the Word+Excel software they are used to. However I reckon there's a better way they could deliver the content to me, maybe by giving separate excel sheets instead of embedded tables in Word or by using stricter formatting rules?
Ideally the workflow should also support the flexibility of linked Word/Excel files, so revised input would painlessly be updated into the formatted Indesign document.
Does anybody has any advice, tips/tricks to make a smarter workflow for such a project?

FWIW I create a new, separate library for each book.  I assemble the photos to be used in to an album in the main library and then copy it to the book library with the paid version of  iPhoto Library Manager.
When I'm done with the book and it's ordered I cull out the photos I didn't use in the book and then archive the book library to another HD, a CD or DVD disk (if small enough to fit).  This way the book is isolated from the day to day use of my main library and any accidental deletions of photos in the book.  If I want to reorder a copy, edited or not,  I know the book is intact.

  • Is there an ap for finding/deleting corrupt files on OS X 10.7?

I seem to have a corrupt file(s) which cause my MacBook Pro to freeze inexplicably (and randomly) upon start-up. I've been told that this is a symptom of having a corrupt file.
Is there an an for finding/deleting corrupt files on OS X 10.7?
I'm pretty much bound to my computer and simply don't have the time to go through it manually.
    Thank you.

This is an old post and I am not the person who posted the original query, but I ran your terminal diagnostic and am hoping you are still attending to this forum. I have a mid 2011 macbook Air 11", 256 GB SSD, 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB  1333 MHz DDR3, Mac OS X v. 10.7.5 Lion. I have had various problems in my user homefolder for a while. I have gone through quite a few other troubleshooting and fixing steps, the most extensive following a posting here "Step by Step to fix your mac" by ds store in the Apple forums. These steps helped a lot. I did remove some 3rd party software as part of this process.
My computer is running well in general now, but one thing that has been a recurring problem is problems with move/cut-paste. I researched this online and ACL's being present where they're not supposed to be seems to be an issue. I have used terminal commands to remove ACL's, used Onyx to repair user permissions, rebooted with command-r to reset password screen and reset user permissions. They all help, but then a some point later on the problem recurs. When I run repair disk permissions with either disk utility or onyx I always get this message:
    Repairing permissions for “maggieairHD”
Warning: SUID file “System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent” has been modified and will not be repaired.
ACL found but not expected on “Users”
    Repaired “Users”
    Permissions repair complete
This ALWAYS comes up, even if I run it immediately after running it and haven't done anything else on the computer in between.
I created another user and did not have the same problems I was having at the time with some programs, although I haven't used it that much to be able to really compare. The home folder permissions repair in Onyx comes out the same in that user, though.

I have removed NoSleep, Caffeine, itunesHelper and Dropbox from login items before and didn't notice any difference, so I put them back. Some of these I know I don't want, like rim/blackberry, adobe AIR. Skype has never worked consistently on this computer. I don't use most of these Services, and I know I had trouble with some that were not compatible with Lion before. I am not using Parallels much now, have been thinking about taking it off as it uses a chunk of my SSD. But I don't feel confident about getting rid of .frameworks etc safely.
I am glad to remove anything I don't use if I know how to do it safely. I am willing to remove anything I do use if it's necessary, but obviously would prefer to find a way to keep things that I find helpful.
    I appreciate any suggestions!

  • Help on Approval Workflow and content types

    Hi
So here is my question hope you guys can help!
So i was setting up a workflow for a leave request form. Everything was fine and I had the Approve/Reject buttons at the bottom of the task EditForm. Now I copied the content types to a new one and changed the Optional settings (lets says title hidden %
completed hidden etc) and then I changed the Task content type too so as to allow for that new content type to take place. Then i relaunced the workflow everything worked nicely the form look the way I wanted it but then on the EditForm I didnt have the ebuttons
any more so I found it odd so I reset the content type to the original checked that everything was back in place (the hidden back to optional etc) and even on the original Workflow Task (Sharepoint2013) content type the buttons disapear now I have to manually
add to the completed column and change the drop down menu of the Task Outcome to approved or rejected to make the workflow spit out the results.
I was wondering what happened I do not understand it. I even deleted all the Task List and Lists associated witht the workflow re wrote the workflow and nothing... So i m a bit out of my depth.'
When I click on the Cutomized List Default Edit Form... I do get the form with the button but its not the same one I get with the Email Link or the Link and the actual List
    Any pointers?
    I appreciate it!

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that the outcome buttons disappear after you change the Optional type column in Workflow Task(SharePoint 2013)  content type.
For your issue , please make sure the Task Status and Task Outcome type columns are existing in the content type in order for the custom outcome buttons to appear.
For more information, you can refer to the blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepointdesigner/archive/2012/09/14/how-to-manipulate-the-task-form-with-sharepoint-designer-for-new-task-actions.aspx

  • Workflow for keeping referenced masters organized

Hello, I'm coming to Aperture 3 having used LR for several years (after initially using Aperture 1). I love the feel and features of Aperture 3, but there's one thing I'm having a hard time with and that's working with referenced masters. I have a simple year>month folder structure on my HD for all digital images, and I'd like to keep it this way in case I ever decide to abandon Aperture again. My workflow for importing pictures into LR was to dump the card contents into an "Unsorted" folder, then to delete the ones I don't want, and drag the rest into the correct folders. I liked being able to do this in LR and have the contents of my hard drive reflect the folder structure within LR.
I'm aware that Aperture is designed mainly to have the pictures in a library, but that really freaks me out for the long term, so I imported all my folders into A3 in the same structure they are on the HD. I have to be careful about rearranging pictures into different folders because sometimes I forget that they stay where they are on the HD!
So I'm wondering, does anyone have a workflow suggestion for those of us who want to be able to organize images within A3, and have the Finder folder structure reflect that of A3? Manually relocating masters and then dragging the images to their new location in A3 is really tedious!

Everyone on this thread is doing way too much manual work...
There is a function in aperture for existing images under File->Relocate Masters that will automatically create a folder structure of your choosing for you. You can do this at anytime, and it is nearly impossible to screw it up, because you can always re-do it.
In fact it is so powerful, It makes sense for people with unorganized Hard drives to just import everything in place, set up their projects and organize their masters in aperture, then use File->Relocate masters to cleanup the filesystem side of things.
As far as importing new images, here is what you do:
    1. Create your project.
    2. Click Import.
    3. On the right side, change "store files in" from "in the aperture library" to a "root" folder of your choosing. Example: Mine is set to "Media HD/Raw Masters".
    4. Change the "subfolder" dropdown to either use one of the built in presets, or create one of your own. Example: Mine is set to "YYYY/Project Name". This is so I can easily view my master files by Year and then project name, so at the end of a year, I can easily archive these raw files and take them off my editing machine, but leave my library and projects all in tact.
Why, oh why would you want to use the finder to do your selects when its so much fast in aperture? Why manually create folder structures when the computer can do it for you?
The new aperture 3 import is even faster than photo mechanic, since it gives you almost immediate thumbnails to begin reviewing from the embedded JPGs in the raw files, while it copies the full masters in the background.

  • Specs and workflow for creating opening/closing titles for video

I'm trying to create specs/workflow for videos that I will be adding opening and closing titles to (black background with colored text), using QuickTime Player 7 (Pro).
The videos are .mov, AVC coding, 1280x720, millions, 30fps, a sample video had a data rate of 7,463 kbits/second.
I created 1280x720 300dpi (perhaps I should have used 72dpi?), saved as a .jpg (highest quality), then copied the .jpg contents into a QuickTime Player 7 (Pro) blank document multiple times until I had enough frames for my need. The resultant video was very large; 339,743 kbps/second. I then exported to H.264, which brings the data rate down to only 214 kbits/second (and looks fine) and then copied that into the head of my AVC coding video.
    Questions:
    1) When I exported to H.264, the x pixels increased by 6, to 1286. After pasting that video into the AVC coding (1280x720) video, the resultant movie is 1280x720. Did my graphic get compressed by 6 pixels horizontally?
    2) Does my method of converting the huge graphic movie to H.264, and then pasting it into the AVC coding make sense? The combined video has AVC coding, according to Movie Inspector; does the H.264 of the graphic get converted automatically? Any better way to approach creating my titles?
Note: these AVC coding videos may get converted to H.264 for some use, but for now, I'm keeping the highest quality (source) video I have to work with.
    Thanks,
    Bob

"First, tell use why you're not using FCP's titling and keying capabilities."
    I don't own FCP.
"Then, explain why you're doing it this way."
I'm able to create graphics with plenty of control in a graphics program (PhotoShop in this case).
"There is no dpi in video, there are only pixels."
Sorry, I posted my thread then realized I left out a bit of info, but couldn't edit the post. I should have written that I created my graphics file in PhotoShop, hence the dpi reference.
"A black background for text is not the same as using an alpha channel."
OK. The portion of my video with titling stands by itself; that is, I'm not overlaying titles on existing video. Is there a use for alpha channel if I'm working up standalone title video frames? Uses less data rate?
It seems from your inference I would be best served by purchasing FCP, so I'll probably take that advice and buy it.
From a general video production point of view, I'd still like to learn more about creating titles in a graphics app and bringing them into QT Player; what format to bring them in as (e.g., H.264 into an AVC coding video, as I've done, or ?), and what happens when my graphics video gets converted from 1280x720 to 1286x780 (AVC export to H.264), and then brought into an AVC codec movie, and the movie remains at 1280x720-- does the graphic get horizontally widened, or the vertical compressed? Thanks.
