Hi,
I am also looking for similar information....
One thing what i came across is, there is a spcecific responsibility meant for accessing Workforce Intelligence workbooks.....
Try responsibility "Training Intelligence" (though it displays only few workboooks and not all those workbooks which are listed in OLM user guide)
I will update you further if i get more information.
Do let me know incase if you find any useful information regarding this on my email id - [email protected]

  • Learning Management Intelligence

Pls. help. What responsibility should I have to be able to access Workforce Intelligence for Learning Management?

You need to start by generating the business views. I think the responsibilty is something like Business Intelligence Administrator. Then run the job 'Generate Business Views' and select the learning management views. You may also need HR views if they haven't been generated before.
But, I have never had much success in getting this part of workforce intelligence to work at all!
    Good luck.

  • Getting started with Learning Management

I am just starting with learning management implementation in R12.
Can anyone tell me what are the responsibilities for learning management ?
Does Learning Management require separte licence? We have Oracle HRMS and Self-Service already implemented in our system.
    When I use the responsibilities
    1. Oracle Learning management Administrator
    2. Learning Administrator
I see only Reports and Other Requests menu and Submit Report and View report function inside it ? I am not able to see the Catalogue, Resources, Setup functions inside the above two responsibilities.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Deb

    Hi Deb,
Further to the other responses -
You need to use the responsibility Learning Administrator.
When you go into User Management assign the role of Learning Administrator to your user (make sure you pick the one which has the code UMX|OTA_LRNG_ADMIN)
In Learning Management, the role control what a user can see and do.
You can link the Responsibility to the Role (this will mean that when the Resp is assigned to the user, the Role will automatically be assigned).
You do this in User Management. Find the responsibility 'Learning Administrator' (code =FND_RESP|OTA|OTA_LEARNING_ADMINISTRATOR|STANDARD) and click 'View in Hierarchy'. Then click 'Add Node'. Search for the role Learning Administrator (code UMX|OTA_LRNG_ADMIN) and click 'Quick Select'.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
Have you maintained your Organizational data? Did you assign any job to any user in the organizational hierarchy. You need to maintain you PPOMA_CRM first in order to assign any roles there.

  • Enterprise Learning Management for External Learners

I need to roll-out enterprise learning management to 300k users who need self service access to create and access their account. Does anyone have experience doing so with Enterprise Learning Management? What did you use to enable the user to create their own account? How was the account validated? How did you enable them to pay for their own class?

Jimmy, I greatly appreciate your reply. I have never worked with ELM, I took this position to get experience in peoplesoft and experience in Project management. But sense I used to be a .Net developer I want to understand the back in of ELM more than just trying to implement ELM 9.0
Of course I'm new to this forum as well. Any help you can give me during my process of trying to implement ELM 9.0 would be greatly appreciated.
Currently where i'm working they are bringing in ELM guy to help with the implentation process. I will be shadowing him to learn the process and then I'll be trying to implent ELM for my gov agency as well as other agencies.
So I will be posting ELM 9.0 questions quite frequently for the next 12- 16 months.
Thanks again for your reply and any help you can give me in the future.

  • Elearning suite to Learning Management System (LMS) - how-to from an InDesign file?

We need to be able to export InDesign files to a portable SCORM format that could be loaded into various Learning Management Systems (LMS) – however, it is not obvious how we would do this? We need to publish our documents both in a book\PDF format and to various LMS systems such as Blackboard, Moodle, Angel, Desire2Learn, etc.
What am I trying to accomplish? Many of our College and University clients use Learning Management Systems (LMS).  SCORM is a standardized interchange format used to provide internet ready information (e-book data, test questions, etc.) to any LMS systems. We need to export formatted InDesign documents – which for us are our Lab Manual (book) publications which include: text, graphics, pictures, etc.
Adobe advertises SCORM compatibility as part of its e-learning suite: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/elearningsuite/els/extensions/WSD40882CF-6 C5C-46c0-8D51-273830EB036B.html --- however, I cannot find anyone who can tell me how to get there from InDesign.
In addition, I find it very frustrating that after many calls to Adobe sales and technical staff that I can't find anyone who can help me with the details of how to get from InDesign to Adobe's "SCORM Packager"  See: http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/01/scorm_packager.html which I believe is a part of the e-learning suite.
Is it possible to find a high level technical resource within Adobe that I could talk to who could help me with this issue --- we need to test the ability to produce SCORM compatible files from our InDesign files before we can make a purchase decision.

Adobe's Multi SCORM Packaging tool is designed to take existing single SCORM packages (in zip file format) and merge them into a multi SCORM package with a rewritten imsmanifest.xml file at the root level to tell the LMS what the package contains.  This allows the LMS to build the array of links that its SCORM player requires to allow the course user to navigate from one module to another.
So if InDesign is not currently capable of creating even a single SCO SCORM package, the Adobe Multi-SCORM Packaging tool is not going to be much use to you.
In reality, the Adobe tool is quite limited in functionality.  It's more designed as an add-on for Captivate to allow multi-SCORM courses to be created. Your best bet would probably be to investigate other SCORM packaging tools such as RELOAD that allow you to take content created elsewhere and add them to a SCORM package as resources.
You may need to export your InDesign content as PDF files and have these set up as individual resources or assets in the SCORM package.
However, for any of this to work with an LMS is going to require the final package to have a SCORM API (done with JavaScript) so that user interaction with the individual components of the course is relayed back to the LMS via JavaScript variables.  Packaging tools such as RELOAD may be able to do this with some types of content (e.g. HTML) but I don't know if InDesign output is going to be compatible with this approach.
Have you designed your InDesign course content with interactivity in mind, or is it just straight content delivered in a documentation format?

  • Database design (ERD )for Inventory Management System

    Dear All,
I am going to develop a simple Inventory Management System software using C# .NET for my learning. After searching different forums, many people have suggested to first create a database design for the software. I want a database design, in short, an ERD
diagram for simple Inventory Management System which shows proper entities(tables), attributes and relationship between entities.
It would be highly helpful for me as I am newbie to C# and databases.
    Thanks,
    momersaleem

    Dear Rebecca,
    Thanks for you suggestions.
As I am going to develop IMS for learning purposes so I think I wouldn't need to go in detail regarding Customer name and addresses. However, I am still thinking of adding country attribute in customers' table which I think will be helpful to sort out customers.
What's the difference between a purchase and an order?  They're usually the same thing, which doesn't mean you're
wrong, but what are you picturing here? Purchase entity will be used to keep record of purchases you made and an order entity will be used to keep record of orders that cutomers placed.
    Pricing:
Any order system needs to manage two very distinct bits of data that are easy to confuse. The price in the Product entity is the current
price. The price in the Order entity is the selling
price. Not at all the same thing--current price is almost certainly going to change over time. Selling price won't.
Does it mean that I'll change the price attribute for product to current_price and add selling_price to order table which will help to keep record of price at the time of order?
Why did you include a quantity field in the Products table? Is it meant to represent stock on hand?
Yes you are right. It represents stock in hand.
Could you please recheck the entities relationships as I am not confirmed whether these are correct or not?
    Thanks,
    momersaleem

  • Path for Content Management System (CMS)?

    Hi All!
Has anyone configured Authoring environment for learning Solution. Can anyone please provide me the step-by-step details.
Also can anyone please explain the process of setting up the path for CMS (Content Management System) Address in KM for ECC6.
    Ours is a EP7.0,ECC6.0 (NW2004s) new implementation.
    Thanks
    regards
    Madhu

    Hi,
"CMS" would in the first place only be a generic term that you can call any product that manages content.
At SAP I am aware of the following similar terms:
<b>KM -</b> Java-based CMS, integration framework for 3rd party CMS's and more of SAP NetWeaver, runs in the Portal
<b>CM -</b> The architectural part of KM that deals with basic content management services. With additional services and TREX this combines to KM.
<b>DMS -</b> "Document management system", R/3-based system for management of engineering documents, bases on "KPro" in Web AS ABAP, part of mySAP PLM, integrates into KM via repository manager
<b>KW -</b> KPro-based system for managing SAP-related documentation and training
<b>Content Server - </b>Object storage location for KPro-managed documents (see DMS)
<b>KPro -</b> "Knowledge Provider", deep level very generic set of ABAP methods to manage document attachment objects in an R/3 environment
    Hope that clarifies...
    Regards, Karsten

  • What are the pre-requisites for learning OA Framework?

    Hi,
Im new to oaf,can any body help on this
What are the pre-requisites for learning OA Framework?
    Karthik

In order to develop any OAF Application you need to know few concepts before doing any kind of development. The concepts are basically the Business Components for Java(BC4J) components.
    They are:
    Application Module(AM)
    Entity Object(EO)
    View Object(VO)
    Association Object(AO)
    View Link(VL)
Now let us see the description of each component.
    Application Module:
Application Modules serve as a containers for related BC4J components. The pages are related by participating in the same task. It also defines the logical data model and business methods needed. They provide the transaction context and also used for establishing database connection. AM’s can be nested to provide more complex AM’s.
    Entity Object:
EO encapsulates the business logic and rules.EO’s are used for Inserting,Updating and Deleting data. This is used for validating across the applications. We can also link to other EO’s and create a Association object.
    View Object:
View object encapsulates the database query. It is used for selecting data. It provides iteration over a query result set.VO’s are primarily based on Eo’s. It can be used on multiple EO’s if the UI is for update. It provides a single point of contact for getting and setting entity object values. It can be linked together to form View Links.
    Association Object:
An association object is created where we link EO’s. For example take the search page where we link the same EO to form a association between the manager and employee. Every employee should have a manager associated. But if it President then no there is no manager associated. This is a perfect example to understand the AO.
    View Link:
A view link is an active link between view links. A view link can be created by providing the source and destination views and source and destination attributes. There are two modes of View link operation that can be performed. A document and Master/Detail operation.

  • Anyone use AJAX with Learning Management Systems

I recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CS3. After looking at it
briefly the thought occured to me that the AJAX functionality might
be applied to Learning Management System courses. Typically,
courses fired through a Learning Management System (LMS) use AICC
or SCORM compliant JavaScript in order to achieve the user scoring
    interactions.
Has anyone employed the AJAX functionality in Dreamweaver CS3
to enhance LMS functionality? Any Thoughts?
    Thank you,

It should be perfectly fine to include it in head - depending on wha you want.
Try to use Firebug for firefox to debug errors.
You can add plugins to wordpress that makes it easier to include scripts.
