Working with sensitive information in Help

All,
I'm looking for advice on how to deal with including
"sensitive" information in Help. Specifically, there's a request to
add information in Help on how our software's security settings are
handled (i.e. setting up a user's security settings to access
certain areas or perform certain functions within our software).
Regarding access, what's the best or most recommended method
of limiting this information to only certain users (i.e. our
customers' system administrators), without their end users seeing
it? The issue would be a "regular" user accessing this information
and finding a way of changing their own settings without the
permission or consent of their sys admin.
The most immediate idea would be to maintain separate "Admin"
and "End User" versions of the help system. This wouldn't be much
work on my end, but I'm not sure if long-term there's interest in
having different versions floating around, and of course if a savvy
user finds where the admin-oriented help is located....
I'm open to any and all ideas. FWIW, we use RH 7 and our Help
is in Microsoft HTML (.chm) files.

I'm not sure what support there might be in my office for
moving to a different Help format, but increased security is
probably a good selling point for a different format like WebHelp.

I am confused. Do you mean you found the music, not the tones, or you can't find either?
If the former, then this is normal. You can't redownload tones from the Cloud.

I assume you mean whatsapp.
First double click the home button and swipe the app closed.
If it still doesn't work try a reset. Press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait until your iPhone starts on it's own.
If whatsapp is still giving you problems try deleting and reinstalling the app.

Try this:
1. Reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake and home buttons and releasing them, when the Apple logo appears on the display. Now test again.
2. If the issue persists: Restore the iPhone without any of your own content, using this description from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
3. If the issue persists, Your iPhone need repair.

Protecting text files with sensitive information

I have an app where users log in and upload files with very
sensitive information (pdf's or word doc's). Depending on the
permissions an user can open and view or save specific files. I'm
saving files out of the web server folder and using middle cfm
page(docs.cfm) as a wrapper:

Application.docsPath variable points to D:\myFiles\ folder
(not in the web server directory).
It is sill possible to open file if you guess the file name.
Is it any way to protect files from unauthorized users and to
block them if they try to guess and open a file?

I think the best way to protect them would be to store them
in a database and
restrict access to the database. The database should also be
outside the DMZ.
SQL 2005 has some field level encryption if you want to get
supper protective,
but that has some limits of data length that you'll need to
work around. We
encrypyt user passwords with SQL 2005 and it works great.

The other possible solution is to place all a user's files
into 1 zip file and
encrypt and password protect it, not as secure, but would
work. You could use
their userid and email or something for unique username's and
passwords per
file. Each user would have their own zip that you unzippped
to give them access
to what was inside. When they uploaded the file, you just add
it to the zip.
This way you could allow them to upload differant types of
files and handle
them all the same way.

iTunes 11 works with all model iPods.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

BB Desktop Manager no longer works with Mac Maverick - Need Help Urgently

I have been a loyal Blackberry user since the Government of Canada officially began using these cell phones. I feel, however, abandoned by Blackberry (they obviously don't believe that it is easier to retain an existing customer than acquire a new one). I'm using a Blackberry Bold (9900) with a Macbook Pro. Everything was fine until I upgraded my Mac operating system to Maverick; my Blackberry Desktop Manager no longer works, so I cannot sync the content (contacts, calendar) of my phone with my Mac, but that's not the worst of it.
I recently had a momentary lapse and exceeded the 10 password attempts to access my phone... this accidentally wiped my phone clean... and because Desktop Manager does not work with Mac, I do not have a way to recover my data. Rogers was of no help and had Blackberry updated its desktop software months ago, as it should have, this issue would have been moot. I do not know how or why, but I was able to recover most of my data, but I'm not sure just how up-to-date tha data is and am still going through it, but I'm having issues with some functionality.
I'm in the US for several months and have suspended my Canadian services. Prior to the wipe, I was able to use wifi on my phone to send and receive emails with no problem. After the wipe, I can't send emails or bbms. I checked my blackberry internet service and all email accounts are good to go. BBMs are another issue. I need help. Suggestions please.

Apple has ceased synchronization with Mavericks. The issue lies with Apple, not with the desktop software. To mitigate the lack of sync capabilities in Mavericks you can sync your contacts and calender on your Mac with the usual suspects (Yahoo, Google). Create a backup (archive) for Contacts and Calender on your Mac first, then create one of those email accouonts that allow syncing. On your 9900 and with BlackBerry provisioning enabled create the new or existing email account. See which email accounts can sync with BB, I know Yahoo is working fine. For Yahoo, get the Yahoo Calender sync (a few bucks one-off payment required), Contacts sync works off the shelf within BB. If you reset the 9900 you should be able to restore all data with BB DTM. Please note that emails you received during the 9900 reset and the date of restore will not be available on the device. You will still not be able to sync contacts/calender over BB DTM. I hope that helps.

i have to design a database to store,access,add or delete(the tree nodes) the tree information. what is the efficient way of accomplishing it?
let's assume the information to be stored in the table is parent,child and type(optional).The queries should be very generic(should be able to work with any database).
anybody has any suggestions?I have to work with large data.

Pro Tools 10 not working with 10.7.5 HELP!

My reading suggests that Pro Tools 10 will work with 10.7.4 . My mid 2012 macbook pro came with 10.7.5 and it looks like trying to roll back to 10.7.4 will crate other issues with Safari, iphoto, etc. I tried to install the late 2012 10.7.5 update which fixes some programs not launching, but I get an error mesage saying that my harddrive does not meet the requirements. Huh? It's a 750 g standard isue partitioned to use boot camp as well.
I'm desperate. I need my recording studio to work!! HELP!

That is because your Mac came with a special build of Lion made just for the newest models, it contains the correct driver set for the newer hardware in the new models. You may have to do a complete reinstall over the top of your current install from the Online Internet Recovery system, IE Not the Recovery HD partition on the internal drive, to get the correct 10.7.5 build for your model.
As to Pro Tools 10 working on Lion 10.7.5 you would need to contact Pro Tools and ask them.

Epson Perfection 1650 Scanner won't work with 10.7.5, help?

I am trying to use my EPSON PERFECTION 1650 scanner with my MacBook Pro, software version 10.7.5. The old driver does not work with Lion. I ran software update, with the scanner connected, and it did not come up with any new Epson software to install. Can anyone help me locate this driver? When I googled Epson driver for this operating system, it says I have to run software update on the Apple and it will automatically come up. But I have had no luck. Someone help please? As listed on Epson's site the drivers are available via Apple Software Update.
Ensure the scanner is powered on and directly connected to your Mac, then try following the steps below:

Now try opening the Image Capture application within the Applications folder and check if your scanner appears.
If the scanner cannot be located yet try restarting your Ma and check for any difference.
If the same still persists try resetting the printing system, then try adding the scanner again as listed on Epson's site.

Finally, if you still having issue getting the drivers from ASU try installing the package below and try scanning from Image Capture again:

Help please! I updated to iTunes10, and now my ipod nano 4th generation doesn't work with it. Actually the "Devices" menu doesn't show up, although the operating system recognizes it. What should i do? I refuse to buy another one. Should i install an older version of itunes? If i do so, may i loose my musics and stuff that i have in library?

You should always have backup of your iTunes folder.
Downgrading to iTunes 9 will not cause you to lose your music etc.
Have you checked via Software Update in the System Preferences for any updates.
Have you tried the 5 R's for the iPod?
