Workspace Wiki: Embed objects (Java, Flash)

Quick question: is there a way to embed interacive Flash objects into a Wiki page?
Specifically, I have created a FreeMind map which has collapsable parts. I can export it as Flash, Java Applet or XHTML (JavaScript or Clickable Map Image).
I would like to embed it into a Wiki page, so that customers could collapse/expand branches as they need. The full map, exported as PNG, is fairly large and cumbersome to use.
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi,
I'm Building a Web browser from scratch as a graduation project. I've finished the parsing engine and the rendering engine but still there is a few tags required to be rendered as the java applet <applet> and the flash objects <object>
I searched a lot about how can i embed the applet and the flash object inside the browser panel but i didn't find any useful information about it...
Hope to hear from you soon

  • How to use embed object in flash?

    I am creating a flash website and wanted to use a music player, how can i use the embed code in flash?
    Thanks

    That code is not used in Flash, it is used in the html page that you embed the Flash file into.  You do not use the code you showed for placing a Flash file within a Flash file.
    If you created the music player yourself in Flash or have the Flash fla file, you can have Flash generate the embedding code by publishing an html page via the Publish Settings, and then copy and paste that code into whatever html page you are using for the site.
    If you don't have the fla file for the music player, then your best bet at getting some form of usable code for inserting it into a web page will be to use Dreamweaver to insert the Flash embedding code into the html page... though I usually recommend against using Dreamweaver for that.  YOur other option is to take the code you showed and adjust every parameter in it to be in agreement with the properties of your music player (file name, width, height, etc)

    It seem that skin swf of SkinOverAllNoCaption.swf can not be found or loaded. Please help.Thanks.

    If the swf has actionscript in it, then you cannot embed it and still have it work (it will lose its code), so you need to load the file dynamically instead.

  • Embed applet in Flash, possible?

    Hi All
    I have a quite weird question here maybe, but if that's
    possible to embed a java applet into Flash?
    Anyone can give me a hint?
    Thanks a zillion in advance!

    Flash cannot embed a Java applet.
    You can have a Java applet sharing the same browser and have
    Flash and the Java applet communicate to the browser and thus
    communicate to each other.

  • Java - Flash connectivity.

    Hi everybody,
    Somewhat a strange question on a Java forum. I know Java is definitely the best thing in the world but I have another question for all you developers out there. Does anyone know a way to let Java make function calls to Macromedia Flash MX. I know there is a way using Macromedia Flash Remoting, but as far as I know this only gives the posibility to let Flash call Java methods. I want to do both directions as matter of fact: calling Java from Flash and let Java generate events or make Java call Flash functions. This way, a sort of RMI could be established between Java and Flash. I tried to use TCP/IP to communicate between the two and this works. But then I have to implement a framework at client side (Flash in this case) that performs some translations. RMI could solve this problem but I don't see a way to perform this. Any suggestions are highly appreciated and will be rewarned with $DUKE$ off course !!!!
    Kindest Regards,
    K.

    One easy solution for you may be a polling model where Flash client would make Request (using Action Script) and receive Response from Java server.
    You have no direct way to connect to Java from Flash client (and Client must initiate the connection by definition of client-server interaction) and Flash does not assume the presence of Java on your platform.
    You are probably limited to Networking API. Take a look at XML and LoadVars Action Script objects.
    Flash Documentation Link: http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/mx2004
    You could (I presume) pass to them connection string to your Java Server application, including the open port. The server should return properly formed XML document to your Flash client (in case of XML) or QueryString-like text (in case of LoadVars) which you can then easily process.
    Needless to say that you can expose your java application as a CGI program that is called by Action Script.
    Good Luck.

  • Performance issue with Business Objects Java JRC API in CRXI R2 version

    A report is developed using java JRC API in CR XI release 2. When I generate the report in the designer, it took less than 5 seconds to display the results in crystal report viewer inside the designer. But in the QA environment, when I generate the same report from the application, it takes almost 1 to 1.5 minutes to display the same results in PDF. I also noticed that if the dataset contains bigger volume of data, then the reports are taking even longer almost 15 to 20 minutes.
    While generating the report from the application, I noticed that most of time is taken during the execution of the com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.ReportExportControl Object method as shown in following line of code
    exportControl.processHttpRequest(request, response, context, null)
    We thought the delay in exporting the report to PDF might be the layout of the report and data conversion to PDF for such a bigger volume of data.
    Then we investigated the issue and experimented quickly to generate the same report with same result set data from the application using XML, XSL and converted the output XSL-FO to PDF using Apache FOP (Formatting Objects Processor) implementation. The time taken to export the report to PDF is less than 6 seconds. By doing this experiment, it is proved that the issue is not with conversion of data to PDF but it is the performance problem with Business Objects Java JRC API in CR XI R2.
    In this regard, I searched for the above issue in the SAP community Network Forums -> Crystal Reports and Xcelsius -> Java Development -> Crystal Reports. But I did not find any answers or solutions for this kind of issue in the forums.
    Any suggestion, hint in this matter is very much appreciated.

    Ted, The setReportAppServer problem is resolved. Now I could able to generate the report with hardcoded values in the SQLs in just 6 seconds where as the same report was generated in CRXI R2 in 1 minute 15 seconds as mentioned in the earlier message.
    But, our exisiting application passes the parameter values to the SQLs embedded in the report. For some reason the parameters are not being passed to the report and the report displays only the labels without data.
    As per the crj 12 samples codes, the code is written as shown below.
    1. Created ReportClient Document
    2. SetReportAppServer
    3. Open the report
    4. Getting DatabaseController and switching the database connection at runtime
    5. Then setting the parameters as detailed below
    ParameteFields parameterFieldController = reportClientDoc.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();
    parameterFieldController.setCurrentValue("", "paramname",paramvalue);
    parameterFieldController.setCurrentValue("", "paramname",paramavalue);
    byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
    6. Streaming the report to the browser
    Why the parematers are not being passed to the report?  Do I need to follow the order of setting these parameters?  Did I miss any line of code for setting Params using  crj 12?
    Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

  • Could not get schema Object:java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException ora-904

    All of a sudden I get
    Could not get schema Object:java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00904: "SYS"."O"."NAME": ongeldige ID
    when doing anything in the tables tree in the connections pane
    The only thing I set recently is pga_aggregate_target
    Environment
    Oracle 11.2.0.1
    OS Windows Vista Ultimate sp2
    Sql developer 2.1.1.64.39 with its own JDK
    As the download links on OTN are broken I can not upgrade, and I'd rather not work in command line sqlplus.
    Help!!!

    My copy of sqldeveloper isn't located in that directory. Would that matter?
    In the mean time I have disabled filtering the tables node. Opening the tables node doesn't result in exceptions anymore.
    Now, when I click on any table in that node I get 4 identical ora-904 error messages for sys.o.name for any table.
    Apparently it is querying either the all_objects view and it thinks it is querying sys.obj$.
    I didn't yet enable sql_trace for the session, I'm more or less giving up on sqldeveloper. I can not use the space bar in any datagrid, sqldeveloper has always been extreemly unresponsive when navigating the schema browser (as opposed to Toad), etc, etc. Too bad I bought Sue Harpers book, but I think I will be de-installing sqldeveloper soon.

  • BPM Workspace can't display the flash movie with IE

    Hi
    We have the following problem, we have a BPM project with a flash screen, when we execute the project in the workspace of BPM studio we can see the Flash, but when we published the project in BPM Enterprise , the workspace can't display the flash movie, it just display the panel without buttons and fields. This happen just in Internet Explorer, in other browsers we can see the flash.
    Any idea or solution ??
    Thanks in advance

    Actually, I got it working now...
    It seems that I have to have all the files in the same folder
    as the page it displays on!
    Historically I would dump a standard flash clip (not a
    converted movie with buttons) into the /images folder.
    I tested this intitally in a /video folder (just to keep all
    the files in one place) which would display the clip but not the
    buttons but as soon as I moved the files in the same directory as
    the page itself (which is the main index.html) it worked fine!
    So if anyone does read this is there a reason for that as I
    would like to keep everything in separate folders!
    Cheers, J

    Flash is totally unrelated to Java, so what you're saying is that certain plugins are not working under Safari of which one just happens to be Java. You're the second one I see make mention of that, but the fact remains that you'd need to ask Apple what is going on with their browser.

  • Gentoo doesn't run a Java (Flash) application but Ubuntu yes

    Hello everybody.
    I can't find a solution to a Java-Flash-Gentoo related problem.
    I would like to run a Java program, using an [external library|http://djproject.sourceforge.net/ns/] , to realize a Java FlashPlayer. This is the code of the player:
    package testplayer;
    import chrriis.dj.nativeswing.swtimpl.NativeInterface;
    import chrriis.dj.nativeswing.swtimpl.components.JFlashPlayer;
    import java.awt.BorderLayout;
    import java.awt.EventQueue;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JPanel;
    public class Main implements Runnable {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            NativeInterface.open();
            EventQueue.invokeLater(new Main());
            NativeInterface.runEventPump();
        public void run() {
            JFlashPlayer player = new JFlashPlayer();
            JPanel panel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
            panel.add(player);
            JFrame window = new JFrame("Test");
            window.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE);
            window.add(panel);
            window.setSize(400, 400);
            window.setVisible(true);
            player.load("http://www.youtube.com/v/XyX-KJwUohw");
    }A window should be opened and the youtube video should play as well. Here's what I get on Gentoo Linux.
    [http://i.imgur.com/XyYdk.png]
    It doesn't find the flash plugin actually, even though it is installed and properly working.
    My Gentoo is x86_64 architecture and if I try to run the same application on Ubuntu (x86_64), it works like a charm.
    At the moment my www-plugins/adobe-flash USE flags are the following: 64bit -32bit.
    Why this piece of code runs on Ubuntu and on Gentoo not????
    Could it be something related to some environment variable?
    Thanks a lot!

    I asked to the mantainers yet actually, but they didn't solve me the problem at the moment.
    Perhaps some of you could have an idea of what I am missing on Gentoo.
    What I can tell you, is that I tried to run that application on a fresh Debian installation and I've got the same problem.
    So this happens because of something that is missing. But what?? :(

  • Can you embed object into text in Indesign?

    I am about to do a large project in Indesign that will involve a lot of charts and text. I used to work in Quark and I could embed objects into the text so that the object and text flowed together (instead of the object sitting on top of the text). Can anyone tell me if this is possible in Indesign?

    Cathy,
    You're using the word "embed" in a way that is confusing.
    An embedded object in InDesign is one where the link to the outside photoshop or other graphic file format has been cut and the entire file information is contained within the InDesign file.
    This has nothing to do with having images move along with the text.
    InDesign has two types of images that move along with the text.
    b Anchored objects
    are the easier ones to create but they have less controls.
    b Inline graphics
    are the more complex.
    Look these up in the Help files.
    Or get yourself a good book on InDesign.
