WOW Wireless headset in WIN7 x64

Installed the driver package in both Vista x32 & Win7 x64. The Audio Control Panel works flawlessly in Vista but not in Win7. The volume control buttons on the headset does not work and neither does the Illumination feature of the Audio Control Panel in Win7, I can't seem to change the colors.. Any help is appreciated.

Hello Flashmanrpr,

  • WoW Wireless Headset Not Charging

I bought my WoW wireless headset in August and so far haven't had many problems, except for when fully charged I can't seem to talk on it unless I plug the USB cord. But today for some unknown reason I will not charge. I tried using different computers and different USB ports and nothing. It will light up for 5 to 0 seconds then go black. For what I paid for this headset it should last longer than it did. Seriously does Creative just slap a few cheap pieces together put the WoW logo on it and charge 0 times what they should?

    Hi,
Sorry about that, please write to Customer Support and ask for an RMA.

  • Mac OS X, WoW Wireless headset Audio Control Panel

Any updates on the Audio Control panel? As far as I know no mac user has gotten it to work with the headset. The error I found and posted (emailed as well) i hope would have been a lead to fixing it. Any news would be great.
Posting the error again just incase it's gotten over looked (posted in an other thread).
This is about a bug I found in the os X version of the wow wireless headset control panel.
Running the "Audio Control Panel" in the "Sound Blaster World Of Warcraft Audio Control Panel app" I get the following error. (.app are really just packages, so right click on it and view package and you'll find the real app in there under Contents\MacOS\Audio Control Panel).

The headset works for me... but the control panel does not.
    I get this error:
None of the features work. Not EQ, not voice FX, not THX - NOTHING.
And there is no way to clean uninstall to reinstall the drivers - I am having to manually sniff around the system folder... Try and resintstall - same issue.
Is there not a Beta Driver we can try and help with?
Cause this is an expensive failure right now.

  • Where are the Vista drivers for the WoW Wireless headset?

I just got the World of Warcraft wireless headset - but the link in the quick start (http://www.soundblaster.com/WorldofW...irelessHeadset) does not direct me to a VALID Windows driver web site.
It has two links - one for Windows (which explicitly states that it supports Vista), one for Mac. Both take me to the Mac driver package.
When I use the "Software AutoUpdate" to find the right drivers, it tells me that "Windows Vista is currently not supported"
How do I get the Vista (64bit) drivers for this thing?
I want to use it, but if I can't get drivers - I'll have to return it.
(to make things more annoying, the support page http://support.creative.com/contactus/ is 404)

    http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/D..._1_01_0001.exe
    Try that direct link.

  • Wow Wireless Headset Mic stops working on Mac OSX 10.6.3

I'm running the April drivers and firmware for my wireless wow headset. After the install of the drivers all was working great. No lag from mic etc. I shutdown my computer went to bed. Next day I booted up, worked a bit and then turned on my headset. Sound worked fine but no mic input detectable from any application. Unplugged the transmitter and replugged it. Sound still works but not mic. I rebooted with the headset on and mic worked. I assumed headset needed to be on during boot up. This morning same thing but even reboot with the headset on doesn't give me microphone functionality.
I've double checked the mic is plugged in properly to the headset but i just can't get any sound out of it.

Ok, I found a work around. It seems the mic doesn't initialize sometimes when i boot up and power on the head set. I can tell the mic isn't working because if i press the mute button the red light doesn't come on indicating I'm muted. To fix this i power off the headset and power it back on. This takes several attempts. I also found it seems to do better at initializing when its not plugged into the charging cable.

  • Firmware, WoW Wireless headset

getting a error when i try to update the firmware, saying : (your device is not connected , please connect the device and restart the program)
my headset is connected and working , i have no clue what to do , i searched for a few hours in these forums and got nowhere if any one could spare the time to help me out it would be much appreciated...

I am having the same issue, I have tried every iteration of USB port, cable/no cable, headset on/off reboots, etc. to no avail.
The headset is connected and working because I receive audio through it, however when I attempt the install I get the error the previous user reported.
    I have tried:
    3 USB ports (1 rear, 1 front, 1 hub)
    Re-syncing the headset/wireless transmitter
    USB cable only connection
    USB+Wireless
    Wireless Only
    Headset on, Headset off
    Mic Muted, Mic on
    Analog headphones plugged in
    Virus protection disabled
And every combination of those it seems, still no luck.
This is on Windows 7 Pro x64, suggestions?

  • SB WoW wireless headset signal cutting out

I got the wireless WoW headset for christmas this past year and I started playing WoW again. I turned my headset on turned up the music all is working well, 30 seconds later the sound goes on and off and keeps getting worse. This always happens now and I tried reconnecting the USB and headset but it will happen in a minute after.

    Hello Casals,
    Welcome to Creative forums!
Try plugging the transmitter to a different port. If you are connecting the transmitter to a desktop, try using the rear USB port. You might want to check this KB article as well and see if it hel

  • No Wireless Volume Support - Win7 x64 - X-Fi Notebook

Today, I installed my Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook onto my Sony VAIO VPC-F2FX/B running Win7 Home Premium x64, and connected to my Gigaworks T20W wireless 2.0 speakers.
I have no ability to volume control while running wireless but through iTunes or by directly adjusting from the speakers themselves (which kind of negates the benefit of being wireless, right?). I cannot adjust the volume using dedicated media keys, my speaker icon in the system tray, PowerDVD, or Creative Console Launcher. All of these programs show volume is ajusting when the dedicated volume keys are pressed, but the output does is unaffected.
I'm only able to adjust volume normally while the speakers are connected by cable to the audio out jack on the X-Fi Notebook card. Again, this completely defeats the purpose of $00 wireless speakers and $90 wireless sound card.
When will Creative provide proper product support for a Win7, a well established operating system that's been out for more than a year?
Why am I wireless if I cannot use it the way it was intended?
Looking forward to a solution or better drivers to launch very soon.

It's remarkable that even after releasing a Win7 driver this month that Creative Labs is STILL incapable of getting this product supported.
Wireless music volume control still does not work through Win7 volume control.
    Useless product.

  • WoW wireless headset error during driver install windows

Was installing the drivers that i downloaded from the creative website and around half way through the install this error msg popped up"error in launching C:\windows\temp\CRF001\mint64.exe", the install proceeded anyway and kept install before i even hit the ok button on the error box. After the reboot and installation for the latests firmware and rebooted again. I paired the headset up to the usb stick after the 8 hour battery charge and tried to open the audio control panel and it said that it couldn't find the device. I checked device manager and it shows the headset is working fine and all my other applications like vent also see that the headset is there. Even the ALchemy program that came with the install can't find it.
I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and got the same error msg and the audio control panel still can't find it.
I'm running win7 64 bit. anyone know whats going wrong?
The headset itself seems to work fine even with that error during driver installation, but can't get that audio control panel to access whatever features it has.

For your temporary directory entries you listed, simply try this:
If you have WinRar, WinZip, WinAce or even 7-Zip, right click the executable and choose extract to.....and extract the files to any folder you wish. Then open that folder and run the installer manually. Sometimes the Creative Labs programs have a problem when creatiing a folder in the Windows temporary directory.
If that does not work, you can try this for a longshot.
    http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/D...US_2_11_01.exe
That is a product identification patch for X-FI's and it is designed to fix the detection of those cards under Windows 7. Perhaps this would work for you, it is small and you could always create a system restore point, install it, and if you dont like it, uninstall it and restore back.

  • Broken WoW Wireless Headset...

Hello! Yesterday my 60 euro beautiful headset just broke... picture included. This is not nice at all as it seems you used wrong plastic (instead of metal for example) or too thin... I bought them on Creative Online Store and would like to get those fixed or changed to new one (Omg I hope new one won't brake again cause I can see here quite a number of similar to mine posts). This is not acceptable, please help me.
    Bielo

    Hello again,
Just received back my broken headset from Creative Service (Power Sales International RMA 2440) and they refused to repair/exchange to new ones because they say it is a mechanical failure and they are not responsible for quality of materials used to produce headset....
I'm speachless.... What I'm supposed to do now?
Is there any phone number I can call to get information about how to solve my problem? Everywhere I can see only e-mail adresses and I would like to talk to someone from Creative actually and not with firm which is responsible for repairs of broken products in my country (Power Sales Internationl)...
    Regards,
    Bielo

  • Feedback Noise: WoW Wireless Headset.

I've had my headset for almost a year and overcome several difficulties surrounding it. However I can't seem to solve this one. There is distinct feedback coming and going and it's getting very frustrating. There was also a point in time where the headset would for no reason make me sound like a robot, and I wonder if this is linked. I'd like some feedback, or help regarding it. It makes talking on Ventrilo difficult.

    Hi,
    Have you upgraded the firmware?

  • Wow wireless headset battery life

so my battery life has massively degraded after having this unit since it first came out
i started the charge last night after our raid, didn't pull off charge until raid this afternoon and the battery died after 2 hrs.
yesterday i had the same situation and just thought i didnt have it charged all the way.
any ideas whats going on here? I paid extra for the wireless for a reason, but it seems im already tethered to a wire after such a short time.

Apple doesn't make the batteries. Most likely they come from Sony. There's plenty of research in battery technology, but you wouldn't be willing to pay what that technology would currently cost. If they provided a bigger battery the computer would weigh more, and then you'd be complaining that it isn't portable enough (not necessarily you personally.)
There's a tradeoff between weight, size, and power. Your 17" model weighs 6.8 pounds. Your new one weighs 5.5 pounds. Where would that big battery on your old computer go? The new one is thinner, stronger, has two GPUs, a faster (or newer) processor, user-replaceable hard drive and memory, thin and bright screen. And here you are complaining about battery life. Use some more aggressive power features, and no doubt you can squeeze 3.5 hours out of it. Or, you could just lug that 17" battleship around with you. After all it's only 1.3 pounds heavier. I won't mention the other missing features. Or depending upon your particular usage you could plug in the AC adaptor. I rarely use the battery on any of my laptops.

  • WoW wireless Headset Mic latency issue with windows 7

I have an latency problem with my mic. I tried to record something with different audio programs (audition, audacity) but i couldn't hit the beat.
the monitoring was enable so i could hear and watched that my voice was time delayed.
Im running windows 7 64bit on my pc, so Im a bit confused, because the problem is just occured on the mac os, as i read in the other threads.
I disabled the Thx, EQ and VoiceFX in the control panel to get the same "settings" like the mac users by deleting the THXTruStudioPCUSBAudioPlugin.kext but it didnt worked for me.

Plug the Droid in and then find the device driver, remove the device driver, restart windows and your Droid and try again.

  • Wow wireless and voicefx

i recently bought the wow wireless headset i got it all set up the sound quality is nice and all of that but i cant seem to get the voice fx thing to work is there another driver i need to dl or somthing or is it somthing i just cannot do on a mac? any suggestion?

This seems to be a problem with the driver used for all of the effects and such. My headset (as well as a lot of others) is doing the same thing. No THX, no Voice FX, no EQ, nothing execpt the changing of the colors of the lenses. There is a post about it here:

  • World of Warcraft Wireless Headset fails to work with Xbox360 wired controller

Hey all, i've experienced a rather unique problem ever since the original release of the WoW wireless headset.
It works perfectly (Great headset, by the way, except for this one huge issue.) normally, however, upon plugging a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller into another USB port, the sound goes out on the headset.
This problem has existed for me since the original commercial release of the wireless headset. Back then, I opened up a ticket, but didn't really get any help on the issue. The support tech just told me to update my drivers and firmware, despite me already having done that. Eventually, I gave up on trying to fix the issue, since I felt I didn't really have enough games I played on the PC to justify bothering with this bug anymore.
Unfortunately, with the holidays coming up, things have changed, and I was looking to get some help on what the cause of this might be, and how to fix it.
I should mention that the headset works perfectly in conjunction with the controller, on my laptop, which runs Windows 7. The computer that has the problem in question runs Windows XP.
I've checked the audio output, and, after plugging the controller in, the headset is listed as the audio output option. In addition to that, with some jury rigging (Rebooting the computer after plugging the controller in, for instance.) I can get limited sound. However, it is so staticy, extremely low quality, and crackly, as to be almost physically uncomfortable to listen too. Nevermind actually being able to discern what it is i'm actually listening too.
I also have a surround sound system plugged into my computer. I originally assumed that this might be the problem. However, I recently had to move my computer, and the surround sound system is not currently plugged into the computer. The headset still does not work on XP when the 360 USB controller is plugged in.
This problem has persisted beyond a wipe of the hard-drive and re-install of the OS, as well.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and been able to fix it?

    You might want to:
. Uninstall the headset, make sure all related applications are removed.
    2. Perform a clean boot of your system
    3. While your system is in it's clean boot state, reinstall the headset.
Do test the headset with a different USB port on your main computer to see if it makes a difference. Hope this hel
