Write file in text and stored in seperate folder!

Hi guys,
i need a help.
I want to write a file into an text file and stored it in seperate folder in default colon(ie., if i install an .exe in any colon(c or D:/ or E:/) , then write a string into a text file and save it in .exe instalation colon in seperate folder.
eg.,
File f=new File("Survey.txt");
             FileWriter fw1=new FileWriter(f,true);i want to save survey.txt into a folder storage_folder.
how can i do it?.

Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I want to create an folder automatically without specifing the directory (ie.,not specifying C:/ or D:/ or E:/ ) and store that file.
ie.,
File f=new File(" log/text.txt");
OutputStream f0=new FileOutputStream ("log/text.txt",true);So, the text file stored in log folder (Creats automatically) . The log folder may creat where the installation software installed (Weather it is C:/ or D:/ or E:/).
pls, clarify my doubt , sir.

  • Search file for text and delete the found text.  How?

    I need to know how to search a file for text and delete the found text. I think grep will let you do this but not sure of the syntax.

    Hi Dmcrory,
       In addition to what Camelot and nobody loopback point out, one must also consider the fact that UNIX text tools are largely line based. You also fail to tell us for what kind of text you are searching. If you are looking for multiple words, there's a very good chance of finding the expression wrapped onto different lines. With hyphenation, even single words can wrap to multiple lines. Tools that search line-by-line will miss these unless you use multiline techniques.
       Multiline substitutions require that you write "read-ahead" code for the command line tool that you're using and that you take that into account in the substitution. Given how you want the results to be printed out, you may also want to preserve any newlines found in the match, which is even more difficult. That could bring up the subject of line endings but that's a completely different topic.
       I apologize if this sounds discouraging. Multiline searches aren't needed that often and in most of those cases, exceptions can be dealt with by hand. I just didn't want you to get surprised by it. To give you an idea of how easy basic substitution is, have a look at Tom Christiansen's Cultured Perl: One-liners 102 and One-liners 101. Both have some "in-place" substitution examples.

  • Placing Illustrator and InDesign Files, Importing text and forms into Library

    Firstly, is there any way at all to maintain the working elements of an Illustrator or Indesign file if placing in Muse, is it even possible?
    Example: I have a fully created website layout with text boxes and vector images saved in Illustrator.
    I'm wondering, can this be bumped to Muse using the 'Library' feature as a whole, as elements like the contact form were in the Katie's Cafe tutorial?
    I understand how that works for singular images, but is it at all possible with a complex image that contains both text and vector, or does this image need to be sliced up and saved as individual elements. Is there anyway to extract the text boxes from Illustrator or InDesign as they are? How are working text boxes created in InDesign as mentioned in the Katie's Cafe tutorial?
    Thanks so much in advance, and sorry if this is totally obvious!

    Hm, okay.
    How would I know if the file is corrupt?
    Well, you often don't, until it crashes and is unrecoverable. Then it's too late. But "insanely swollen file size" is a symptom. However, I can't know if your file size is reasonable or not, depends on the content, and it sounds like your content is pretty heavyweight. For instance - I thought it was possilbe to strip out custom brushes when saving AI files to bring file size down. I've never touched an AI file that was too large because of the number of swatches. So, depending on how much you have in there, then maybe your two-gig file isn't on the verge of crashing and burning.
    I did inherit it, but have since used it as a template and "saved as" various versions. I'm not really sure if it started in 5 or not.
    Cool trick: Click on Help, then hold down Control when you click on About. This will take you to a "Component Information" screen, and in the lower-left-hand corner you can see the Document History. So you can learn if you inherited a file that started in CS5. Or in CS3, or in PageMaker.
    General best-practices as recommended by forum regulars is to finish a file in the format in which it started. If a file has to be moved from an older version to a newer version, then exporting IDML or INX before moving is advised. This is because of a lot of anecdotal evidence that opening up old files in newer versions and then doing a bunch of work is correlated with file corruption.
    I have not tried to export-to-IDML-and-reopen, but I certainly will. What does this do exactly?
    Well, it'll do a bunch of different things. It'll reinterpret the file format, which can strip out corruption. It'll strip out all image previews. If there is cruft in your file, then this will probably remove it.

  • When I go to write a new text and I write my friend's name in, the phone gives me a choice of two numbers. One of them does not exist on the phone anymore, having been deleted.  There is no pre-existing conversation so why?

    Can anyone help with this as it is driving me mad and I keep calling numbers which no longer exist or I send texts to wrong numbers.  There is no existing text converstation but when I go to write a name it will still show an old number which does not appear if you look at the entry for that person in contacts.

    RLites22,
    I can understand your concern about the insurance you have on the line. I want to make sure that I put a fresh pair of eyes on your account to find out exactly what is going on. I did send you a Direct Message. Can you please respond back to me in the direct message so we can go over the account specifics. I really hope to hear back from you soon.

  • Can NEF(Nikon Electronic File) files be transfered and stored on an iPad 2?

    Can NEF files be transfered am\nd stored on an iPad2?

    I know this sounds stupid but I had already done that. I synced using the manual instructions (both with USB lead and wifi) and then searched in video and music tabs for files. Nothing there. My PC shows the files are on the iPad (under devices/iPad on menu) but I can't find them anywhere. Neither can I find anything in the manual to suggest where else they could be.

  • Find a string in a file and write a new text after it

    hi
    i try to search a string in a small text file. after this position I should write a new text (it is not the end of the text, it could be somewhere between).
    I tried to solve this with the StrginTokenizer, but it does not work properly, any other ideas how to solve this?
    thanks for your comments

    To insert text into the middle of a file you use the process that has been used since the first text editor was invented over 50 years ago:
    1. Read the text from the file up to the insert point, and write it to a new file.
    2. Write the inserted text to the new file.
    3. Read the rest of the text from the file, and write it to the new file.
    4. Delete the file.
    5. Rename the new file.

    You have the orange Firefox button?
    You can call up the classic menu bar ''temporarily'' by tapping the Alt key or pressing F10. To display the classic menu bar all the time, choose
    View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
    That will replace the orange Firefox button.
    Also, you should be able to copy by right-clicking on the selected text and choosing Copy from the pop-up menu. Could be quicker in some cases.

  • High Score Table: Writing a Simple Text File with Flash and PHP

    I am having a problem getting Flash to work with PHP as I need Flash to read and write to a text file on a server to store simple name/score data for a games hi score table. I can read from the text file into Flash easily enough but also need to write to the file when a new high score is reached, so I need to use PHP to do that. I can send the data from flash to the php file via POST but so far it is not working. The PHP file is confirmed as working as I added an echo to the file which displayed a message so I  could check that the server was running PHP - the files were also uploaded to a remote server so I  could test them properly. Flash code is as follows:
    //php filewriter
    var myLV = new LoadVars();
    function sendData() {
    //sets up variable 'hsdata' to send to php
    myLV.hsdata = myText;
    myLV.send("hiscores.php");
    I believe this sends the variable 'myText' to the php file as a variable called 'hsdata' which I want the php file to write into a text file. The mytext variable is just a long string that has all the scores and names in the hiscore. OK, XML would be better way of doing this but for speed I just want to get basic functionality working, so storing a simple text sting is adequate for now. The PHP code that reads the Flash 'hsdata' variable and writes it to the text file 'scores.txt' follows:
    <?php
    //assigns to variable the data POSTed from flash
    $flashdata = $_POST["hsdata"];
    //file handler opens file and erases all contents with w arg
    $fh = fopen("scores.txt","w");
    //adds data to file
    fwrite ($fh,$flashdata);
    //closes file
    fclose ($fh);
    echo 'php file is working';
    ?>
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - once I can get php to write simple text files I should be ok. Thanks.

    Thanks for your help.
    I have got Flash working to a certain extent with PHP using loadVars but have been unable to get flash to receive a variable declared in PHP. Here's my Flash code:
    var outLV = new LoadVars();
    var inLV = new LoadVars();
    function sendData() {
    outLV.hsdata = "Hello from Flash";
    outLV.sendAndLoad("http://www.mysite.com/hiscores/test23.php",inLV,"post");
    inLV.onLoad = function(success) {
    if (success) {
      //sets dynamic text box to show variable sent from php
      statusTxt.text = phpmess;
    } else {
      statusTxt.text = "No Data Received";
    This works ok and the inLV.onLoad function reports that it is receiving data but does not display the variable received from PHP. The PHP file is like this:
    <?php
    $mytxt =$_POST['hsdata'];
    $myfile = "test23.txt";
    $fh = fopen($myfile,'w');
    //adds data to file
    fwrite($fh, $mytxt);
    //closes file
    fclose ($fh);
    $mess = "hello there from php";
    echo ("&phpmess=$mess&");
    ?>
    The PHP file is correctly receiving the hsdata from flash and writing it to a text file, but there seems to be a problem with the final part of the code which is intended to send a variable called 'phpmess' back to Flash, this is the string "hello there from php". How do I set up Flash and PHP so that PHP can send a variable back to Flash using echo? Really have tried everything but am totally baffled. Online tutorials have given numerous different syntax configurations for how the PHP file should be written which has really confused me - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Then Line2 col.1 is (DATE)header then col.2(TIME)header then col.3(throttle voltage output)header then col.4(MAX VOUT)header then col.5(MIN VOUT) as i said this is perform before the loop with no pr

What I need to do is wait until the "While Loop" has completed to then store the MAX/MIN, but I can't seem to get the information to end up under the associated header. What do I need to set/use to accomplish this task? Thanks I've attached an excel spread sheet to give an example of where I need the values to be stored.

I juThis can become hard depending on how much data you will be writing. If you could wait and write the data all at one at the end of the while loop it becomes easier. The problem is that when you write a file it writes it in rows of data not columns. I will attach an example (LabVIEW 6.0) that demonstrates how to do this. It is a hard to describe in text. Basically I create the new columns of data and write empty strings to them on each iteration of the while loop except for the first iteration. The first iteration I write a Max? and Min? into the column information. After the while loop is completed I search the array for Max? and Min? and replace it with the appropriate min and max values.

  • The difference using file text and using database ...

    whatz 'p dude !!!
    yo men i have a little quest bout using file text and
    usig database .
    the quest is :
    if u a programer tell me, if u use file text why u use that ?
    whats the advantages using file text for saving record ?
    and if u use database like jdbc,sql,orcle for making java
    what the advantages using them ?
    can u give me some hope plizzzz

    if u a programer tell me, if u use file text
    why u use that ?Text files are good for storing things like configuration data. For this, you are best served using java.util.Properties to store data in any easily accessible format. That's the problem with text files, you have to invent a format and a way to read/write that format every time you use a text file for a database. Sure you could use a standard format like CSV, but you run into big problems when your database exceeds several megabytes in size. Doing something a simple as reading a single field from a file usually involves reading the entire file. That can kill performance if you have to do it repeatedly and often.
    and if u use database like jdbc,sql,orcle for
    making java what the advantages using them ?Java was made with C, not with JDBC, SQL, or Oracle. SQL is a language for reading and writing data from a database. JDBC is a Java interface to interact with databases. And Oracle itself is a relational database.
    The advantages of using a database are ease of use, performance, and reliability. All you need to know is JDBC and SQL to read/write data from a database (though SQL varies slightly with every different database). Databases use indexes to allow them to quickly find rows and fiels in a database without having to read the entire database. Most of them cache data in memory to speed things up too.
    That's it. If you want to know more, search Google or buy a book or two :)
    can u give me some hope plizzzzI'm hopeful you will realize that you make yourself look like an idiot typing like that.

  • Find text and replace with a pdf stored in the same folder

    Hello,
    I have a catalog that is updated every so often.  I have written a script to find/replace the text from a .txt file.  but i have a pdf that i want to insert that is part of it as well.  Inside the .txt file i have the name of the document.  and the pdf is stored inside the same folder as the original .indd and the .txt file.
    can someone point me at some examples on how this could be done.

    I use this script: it puts a txt in a text frame, check the overflow and find/replace some words with a pdf. Hope this is helpful.

  • How to write a unicode text in pdf file

    Dear Friends,
    I am a beginner in acrobat pdf plug-in development. I was trying to write a unicode text (Tamil text) into pdf file.
    Using same api I am able to write english text in time-roman, areal etc fonts. But I am not able to write tamil texts.
    The code is as below:
            memset(&pdeFontAttrs, 0, sizeof(pdeFontAttrs));
            pdeFontAttrs.name = ASAtomFromString("Latha");
            pdeFontAttrs.type = ASAtomFromString("TrueType");
            pdeFont    = PDEFontCreateFromSysFont(                                        \
                            PDFindSysFont(&pdeFontAttrs, sizeof(pdeFontAttrs), 0),    \
                            kPDEFontCreateEmbedded);
            pdeText = PDETextCreate();
            PDETextAdd(pdeText, kPDETextRun, 0, (ASUInt8 *)buffer, _tcslen(buffer),
                                    pdeFont, &gState, sizeof(gState), NULL, 0, &textMatrix, NULL);
            PDEContentAddElem(pdeContent, kPDEAfterLast, (PDEElement)pdeText);
            PDPageSetPDEContent(pdPage, gExtensionID);
            PDPageReleasePDEContent (pdPage, gExtensionID);
    KIndly assume that PDEGraphicsState and PDETextMatrix are set properly set, I am not pasting entire code to avoid complexity.
    Thank you,
    Safiq

    Dear lrosenth,
    I went through some codes/suggestions in internet and I found that I need to have cmap file and cid font file for the respective font since pdf doesn't support unicode fonts directly.
    Can you help me to know where can I get cmap file and cid font file for tamil language font Latha(TrueType) microsoft font.
    Regards,
    Safiq
