Writing a Batch Input or Call Transaction program for transaction code MMAM

Hi All,
I'm writing a Batch Input or Call Transaction program for transaction code MMAM (Changing Material Type). The program was able to run but somehow I was not able to capture the log of the output after running MMAM. The log was not part of the SY-MESSAGE so adding in MESSTAB into call transaction doesn't help while BDC session logs shows only the transaction was processed.
Anyone has encounter such problems before?
Regards,
Ramu.

Hi
Overview of Batch Input Session
The first batch input method is to create a batch input session. It is the processing of this batch input session that updates the database, not the execution of the batch input program. i am giving you example for Change Vendor you practice for ur tcode
For our example, we will use the “Change Vendor” transaction (“FK02”) to add a street address to an already existing vendor.
Step #1
Use “SystemStatus” menu path to determine online program name (SAPMF02K), screen number (0110)
Step #2
Use “F1” key and “Technical Info” pushbutton in each screen field to be filled to determine the field name.
Step #3
Determine how to proceed in the transaction
(save the record by clicking on the ‘Save’ pushbutton or pressing the ‘F11’ key).
The process flow of CALL TRANSACTION
A program that uses CALL TRANSACTION USING to process legacy data should execute thefollowing steps:
Prepare a BDCDATA structure for the transaction that you wish to run.
Prepare a internal table to store error messages Tab_Mess like structure of BDCMSGCOLL.
With a CALL TRANSACTION USING statement, call the transaction and prepare the BDCDATA structure. For example:
CALL TRANSACTION ‘MM01' USING BDCDATA MODE 'A' UPDATE 'S'. MESSAGES INTO TAB_MESS.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
<Error_handling>.
ENDIF.

I have a program that build a Batch-Input based on transaction code KP26.

Field Z-BDC02(1) is not an input field (Program : SAPLKPP2 Screen : 0112)
When executing in background I got the error and when executing in Foreground, it is OK.
I use SHDB to look at the field needed and  it gave me the same field to use.
Here is an extract of my program for the field I have the issue on :

Any one have an hint to solve this ?

    Hi,
Just one remark: batch input is always executed in synchronous mode (hopefully, otherwise we would get many lock issues during mass updates!) Or is there something I missed?
Same thing when you use BDC_INSERT, CTU_PARAMS is ignored ([SAP note 1437811 (Batch input: BDC_INSERT parameter CTUPARAMS)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1437811 ])
About the issue, I don't know, so maybe explain more about the context: for instance, do you run the session under a different user? (for instance, the user could be assigned a transaction/screen variant with table control variant, that protects some fields) Do you have one transaction in the batch input session or are there several ones. Try with one only to see if it works. If yes, then maybe it's something in memory that changes the "input-capability" of the field after the first transaction.

  • Reg calling Transaction code in Webdynpro ABAP

    Hi All,
Can I call Transaction code in Webdynpro ABAP Portal Application. If so, how can this be possible? Can anybody give me a lead?
    Thanks.
    Kumar Saurav.

    Hi,
The most easy Way is here:
    1) Test any Webdynpro Application from SE80 when the webdynpro Browser opens to display output
Copy its HTTP link, Suppose we get the below link
    http://r3d01web1.Siemens.dk:8001/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/z_dynamic_view?sap-client=002&sap-language=EN
    2) Now replace some part of the above link ( webdynpro/sap/z_dynamic_view?sap-client=002&sap-language=EN )  with the new link part ( gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=PA30 )
So that the newly generated link is such that the below one:
    http://r3d01web1.Siemens.dk:8001/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=PA30
Note in place of PA30 you can put any of your desired tcode.
    3) Now Just Make a webdynpro component and in its View layout put a LINK TO URL ui element
and in its property REFERENCE just past the http link ( http://r3d01web1.Siemens.dk:8001/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=PA30 )
    4) Activate and test your webdynpro Application.

  • Batch Input file is not created for the program RFUMSV00 (VAT)

    Dear All,
Yesterday we run the program RFUMSV00 for posting VAT entries. But program dosnt created any batch input file. We tried to create the file once again by running the program, but there were no data;s on it.
I can able to view the spool which is created in SM37. It is in the finished status.
Can you please advice, do I need to delete any table entry for this like BSET etc....or how I can create the batch file again by ruuning the program. I dont want to post manually through FB41 transaction.
Is there any Standard SAP solution for this.
Please let me know anybody need any clarification about this question.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Check the status of the batch in SM35 transaction.
if the batch is locked by mistake or any other error, now you can release it and aslo you can process again.
    To Release -Shift+F4.
Also you can analyse the job status through F2 button.
    Bye

  • Running Batch Input sessions in One program

    Hi Guys.
I am sure this question might have come up before. Reall y  need quick help in this hence posted the same.
I need to develop a program which creates several batch input sessions.
At the end of the program all these sessions should ve triggerred in the background.
Please let me know if this can be done and if yes can someone send me psuedocode for same.
    This is very urgent.
    thx

    Hi Vijay,
Using the following function modules you can create a batch input session.
    BDC_OPEN_GROUP
    BDC_INSERT
    BDC_CLOSE_GROUP
    Example - http://www.sap-img.com/abap/auto-disallowed-back-posting-to-previous-period.htm
You can use the program RSBDCSUB to schedule batch input sessions in background.
http://www.sap-img.com/abap/learning-bdc-programming.htm - How to write BDC program
Executing batch-input sessions in background jobs - Example for how to call the bdc session.
    Hope these are helpful.

  • Calling Transaction code & returning back to calling program

    Hi,
    I have requirement as below
Write the report to call the transaction code say for example different tcode (1000 in number) need to be executed and after every tcode execution it should return back to calling report. I tried using "CALL TRANSACTION 'ABC' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN"  it does execute the tcode but need the user interaction to return back to report, where here i want do this programatically.
can someone please help me & what is possible ways this can be do able.
    Thanks,
    John.

There are two method of BDC
    1- Call transaction method
    2- BDC Session method
In this case you can use call tansaction method.
Syntax- call tansaction abc using gt_bdcdata.
Do the recording with t-code SHDB for that particular transaction and after the necessary modification use it in your program.
Please check f1 help of call transaction for details.

  • Batch Input enhancement in ABAP program

    Hi,
I want to know if it's possible to enhance an existing batch input session with an ABAP program.
this session is created by a program and I want that another program enhances this session.
thanks in advance for your help.
    Franck

This is possible - The BDC data is stored in SAP tables and there are options in SM35 to download a BDC session to a text file, or upload one.  I suggest you have a look at the code behind these options for functions etc that you can use to get an existing session.  Once you have the data you just need to modify it and write it as a new session.

  • Batch input in ECC 6.0 for data collation reports?

    Hello all,
Is anyone using IS-OIL (OGSD) in ECC6.0? I have heard that the technology for posting data collation reports is no longer based on batch input technology but I couldn't find any information on it, neither in the release notes. Does anyone know whether this is true?
    Kind regards,
    Klemens

    Hi Satya,
Still I am getting  the same error. I am using IE 7.0 browser. In my service I have the following parameters in SE80 as well as in the SAP GUI Config in SICF.
    ~ITSMOBILE 1
    ~THEME 99
    ~TRANSACTION LM00
I have published the complete service and it published successfully to INTERNAL site.
My custom service is active in SICF.
When I test the service, IE can not display the page.
Do we need to activate any other standard service?
Or Do we need to set some additional parameters to the service?
Do I need to make any special settings in the IE 7.0?
Your input will be highly appreciated.

  • Calling transaction codes.

    Hi Everyone,
I have around 5 different programs, and have transaction codes for them. Now if I navigate from one screen to another say for until the 4 screen and then again if I press the back button, it has to come back to the previous screen until the last one.
Can this be implemented through callstack if so, how can it be done, any suggestions.
It would be of great help if anyone can help me.
    Thanks,
    Prabs.

    Hi
If you use call transaction then you can go back only one step with leave program . There is no way to determine previuos steps. You can still achieve this -
    In Program for ( TRANSACTION Z1 )
         CALL TRANSACTION Z2 .
    In Program for ( TRANSACTION Z2 )
         CALL TRANSACTION Z3 .
         LEAVE PROGRAM.
    In Program for ( TRANSACTION Z3 )
         CALL TRANSACTION Z4 .
         LEAVE PROGRAM.
If now you branch to Z4 and click a back button here it will goto ( internally ->Z3 -> Z2 ) to Z1 .  You have to place the "LEAVE PROGRAM" just after the call transaction.
If you are using call screen ( within same program ) you can use SET SCREEN 0 . LEAVE SCREEN to branch to first screen in call sequence.
You can also try function module SYSTEM_CALLSTACK in your code  . With every call transaction a new call stack is created.
( You can even check in debugging the call stack ).
    Cheers

  • Personas: how to call Transaction code using a Script Button?

    Hi,
I want to use a script button to run to certain UI based on the given transaction code. I am thinking there might be some ways to do so:
    Option 1:
Somehow one can let the script button call the T-code in script, say, IW21, but how to write such script?
    Option 2:
In the script of the script button, use "Push" or "Click" to cause an action on the launch button which contains the T-code, say /nIW21.
But on my PC, this does not work. Why?
    pls help asap!
    Thx a lot!
    Br,
    Dong

    Knowledge sharing:
    Hi,
I have found exact answer to this question: in the script of a script button, one can first set the T-code to the /okdc component, then call "press Enter" action. By this way, any script button can be used to triggle an action for a T-code. One can set teh /okdc as "hidden". Hope this will help other newers.
