WRT160N V3 and IPV6 Support

Just wanted to know that if any new firmware is coming soon. I m getting IPV6 address from my modem but my router is not working with ipv6 sites. If there is any future with ipv6 i ll wait or should I go with DDWRT?
Linksys EA4500

1. I have posted the link to the official Cisco statement. Nothing else is known. For the WRT160N I would not expect updates. Consumer routers have an expected lifecycle of 1.5-2 yrs.
2. You can still use dd-wrt.
3. You can also very well use IPv4 only. Nothing much would change at the moment. Many web sites now offer IPv6 access in addition to IPv4.

  • NI Volume License Server and IPv6 support?

Please, correct me if I am wrong and realy late with this.
I am quite sure that Volume License Management connection does not have IPv6 support. Meaning connection between client's License Manager and server's Volume License Service.
The support would be realy nice feature for companies using Microsoft DirectAccess to allow empployees to use companie's IT resources outside of company network with their work computer. In this case Volume License Server as a resource.
Yes, there are translators between IPv4 and IPv6, but native support is always the best. And IPv6 is not future technology it is current technology.
I know that there is 14 days product version specific Backup License in use if there is no connection to server. But this is not good when employee has several versions of LabVIEW and TestStand in use.
Another work a round would be a Home License generated to a employee's work computer, but that is not really nice.

    Hi JERei,
Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, VLM does not currently support IPv6. We are currently evaluating adding IPv6 support to our products, but we do not have a definite timeline. If IPv6 support is critical to your application, you should contact your sales representative to discuss your options.

  • Filr and IPv6 support

    Hi
Filr apps do not support IPv6 on standard ports i.e. once port redirects are used. This is likely because of lack of NAT support for IPv6 in the Linux version, but the Filr apps will probably need a bit of new code too. Any idea when IPv6 will be supported?

  • WAP300N and IPv6

    http://www.linksys.com/en-eu/products/accesspoints/WAP300N states that
"Equipped with the detachable antennas, built in DHCP server and IPv6 support, you will be guaranteed the latest in technology"
However, I just took delivery of a unit today, and I have been unable to find a way to enable IPv6. It works fine on IPv4, but my network is dual stack, so some way of enabling IPv6 (at least forwarding so clients can autoconfigure and communicate) would be nice.

  • E4200 IPV6 support (and the removal of it)

    Dear Linksys representatives,
Could you please provide some detail on why IPv6 was available in the first builds of the router but then got removed in later firmware versions and the official lecture is that IPv6 is not being supported at all.
I've had a nice little chat with one of your representatives and they could not clarify this at all. Actually, they say no Linksys devices EVER supported IPv6 period, which does not seem to be entirely true. Saw that 1.0.00 (build 13) for the e4200 actaully has IPv6 support in it and the current build has not.
Could you also make a sticky post about IPv6 support on all Linksys devices with wether they will be supporting it in the future or not? Depending on the outcome to this question I'm deciding to return my Linksys device or not, since I actually need to have IPv6 support for development of new soft- and hardware.
    Kind regards,
    Michel
    ps: happy IPv6 day!
    http://www.worldipv6day.org/

The E4200v1 and E4200v2 both support IPv6 in the latest firmware.  Do you still have a problem?  See also: http://home.cisco.com/ipv6 for a list of routers and the test suites that they have past.
All future home routers are expected to have IPv6.

    Hi Bob,
Yes, this info got burried.  Basically, it's a tool for building LabVIEW-based software products.  It is highly flexible/extensible and tries to fill the holes left by LabVIEW's built-in Application Builder.  Here are some good links to more info:

  • Direct Access on Windows Server 2012 R2 and IPV6

I have a question about IPV6 and Direct Access in Server 2012 R2. Without using UAG is it still mandatory to have IPV6 enabled in the intranet?
Kristopher Turner | Not the brightest bulb but by far not the dimmest bulb.

    Hi,
DirectAccess uses IPv6 with IPsec to create a secure connection between DirectAccess client computers and the internal corporate network.
However, DirectAccess does not necessarily require connectivity to the IPv6 Internet or native IPv6 support on internal networks. Instead, it automatically configures and uses IPv6 transition technologies to tunnel IPv6 traffic across the IPv4 Internet (6to4,
Teredo, IP-HTTPS) and across your IPv4-only intranet (NAT64 or ISATAP).
For detailed information, please view the link below,

Whilst you can configure IPv6 addresses that's about it as IPv6 is not
currently supported. It's on the roadmap (across all products).

  • IPv6 support in JDMK 4.2

    Hi,
We are working on enhancing our product to support IPv6. Currently we are using JDMK 4.2 with JDK 1.5. Wanted to know if there is any information about JDMK 4.2 support for IPv6?
    1) Does it support binding using IPv6 interface
    2) Can it accept SNMP request over IPv6 and send traps over IPv6 interface?
Or should we migrate our application to newer version of JDMK?
    Regards
    -murali

There is IPv6 support in the ASA version 8.2.
We just posted an IPv6 Quick Start guide at https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-15973 and would appreciate feedback on it.
The Public Servers features is a NAT/PAT feature.  The good news is that the immense address space of IPv6 eliminates the need for NAT, you can just use use access lists to set up your policy.

  • Windows 8.1 and ipv6 device stack issues

Hello, so here is the thing:
ZTE Integrated access device (gateway) connected to the ONT. It has ipv6 support which ISP still doesn't use and there is no way of disabling it in router even though I've obtained ISP's admin account. So many ipv6 options and I cannot dare to change anything
except ipv6 dhcp on/off which doesn't have any effect.
2 machines - one desktop with gigabit realtek lan, second one laptop with centrino n 1030 wireless, all latest drivers, using fixed ip addresses
    1. Homegroup - no way they can connect to each other (yes, I've tried all possible ideas and known fixes listed here) - I always get invalid password no matter on which machine I try to create homegroup.
    2. Shares using accounts - here is the funny thing: they see each other but cannot access each others shared folder unless I disable ipv6 in both adapters properties. Even then it's a hit and miss solution. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
    3. Regarding to above: Printer sharing also sometimes it works, sometimes it cannot access.Reboot fixes.
More humor here: connecting both machines to my leftover adsl router without any kind of ipv6 support - everything starts working fine.
So what to do before I start to burn stuff around? Mind you, I have tried at least 30 possible ideas including formatting both machines and completely resetting gateway.
I see that there is a regedit hack which forces windows 8.1 to use ipv4 communication instead of ipv6. Also, since gateway support remote syslog server and log levels I've been thinking to setup it on my machine and log everything.

Yes, there is a way of disabling IP v6 components by editing the registry, here are the detail steps for you to follow:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929852/en-us
I hope this is the answer you want.

  • Tcp wrappers and ipv6?

    Hi,
(Sorry for the [probably] duplicate thread; does anyone know how to search 'as a phrase' with PHPBB so I can find it if this has been mentioned before?)
TCP-wrappers (pacman package tcp_wrappers 7.6-6) does not seem to have IPv6 support. It kept saying "refused connect from 0.0.0.0" and after googling that (which does support phrase searching everything pointed to it being an IPv6/v4 issue. So, I disabled IPv6 in sshd (the service that was giving me trouble), and sure enough I started getting proper hostnames instead of 0.0.0.0 .
Pacman says my tcp_wrappers is up-to-date; is there another package source somewhere from which I can easily get the IPv6 version?
    ~Felix.

Well, it's not on any of the Arch repos, if that's what you mean. You'd need to get the source tarball and build it yourself. Alternatively, you could post a request for it in the AUR Package Requests forum - someone might do a PKGBUILD for it.

  • IPv6 support in IOS

    hi,
we have a Cisco 2851 router and bought the following IOS::

Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(25d), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
I thought this version was supposed to have IPv6 support?
    TEST(config)#ipv6 unicast-routing

    TEST(config)#
    which IOS should we buy?

I think you need the IOS  advanced IP Services.

  • PIX 501 speed and ipv6

    Hello,
i have 20M/20M isp speed. Will pix 501 slow my network connection? On the Cisco website, it says 60Mbps, but elsewhere on the net you can here the speed is max 10Mbps.
And the second question. Is ipv6 supported?
    Tnx.

    Hello,
According to Cisco Performance docummentation you will be more than fine.
Now regarding IPv6 being supported. For cisco Dedicated firewall appliances the support for IPv6 started on  version  7.0.1.
Due to memory requirements I do not think ur firewall support that version hence IPv6 will not be supported.
