Wsa tool not creating EAR

Question

Hi all,
I've got some java code that I want to deploy as a web service. I'm attempting to use wsa.jar to generate a web service compliment EAR file. However, all it seems to do is create an war and war folder, and move the classes into WEB-INF folder (in the war folder). No web.xml files or EAR files are created. The command I'm using is:
java -jar wsa.jar assemble
-output release/
-appName CrispServer
-className uk.co.aretesoftware.server.CrispServer
-interfaceName uk.co.aretesoftware.server.ICrispServer
-input ./bin/
-timeout 60
Any idea's where I'm going wrong?

Ok I'll start from the top.
I started off writing a (stateful) web service which methods both accept and return some simple bean type classes. This was originally deployed on a Tomcat server using Axis, where it worked quite well. With this I have also witten a fairly substantial client to interface with the service.
It turns out that most of the customers that want this service/client will be running oc4j. Using JDeveloper I have been able to deploy the service onto a 10.1.2 version of oc4j without too many problems (other than renaming all the classes with the underscores in front of them for the client stubs). I believe that most customers are running version 10.1.3.
As opposed to using JDeveloper to deploy the web service to the customer sites, I would ideally like to have a simple script that takes care of generating an EAR file with all the relavent parameters set (such as context root and final endpoint location), and then deploys it to the application server.
I have an interface uk.co.aretesoftware.impulse.server.ICrsipServer which extends remote and all methods throw Remote Exception.
I have a class uk.co.aretesoftware.impulse.server.CrispServer which implements ICrispServer.
The service has no dependancies other than oracles jdbc drivers, but they shouldn't be of any concern as they are included in the libs that oc4j provide by default.
I've attempted two methods for packaging the service. One using 'wsa.jar' and the other using 'WebServiceAssembler.jar'. Generally the wsa.jar method has been more sucessful, as upon inspecting the internals of the EAR all files appear to be in the right place and have the right content.
Using DP4, the command that I'm using to package the archeive is:

To deploy the generated EAR I am running:

Both of which appear to execute sucessfuly. The admin interface to oc4j shows 'CrispServer' under the list of web apllications.
This is where I stand at the moment. When I attempt to access the web service in my browser at http://arete-0003d:8888/CrispServer I get a '403 Directory listing not allowed...' which is a good sign (means something is there). However when I try http://arete-0003d:8888/CrispServer/CrispServer I get a 404 not found. A hop, skip and a jump to the application log reveals:

...and a lot more stack trace.
Edit: further down the stack trace:
Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException: class "javax.activation.CommandMap"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package

Could this be because I am using the jdk5_01 compiler?
The axis problem was a stray import so easily fixed. I think when I have this all sussed I'll write a tutorial on it....
