Can somebody provide the amswers.

If it wasn't a : issue also you need to be weary of how deep into the filesystem your workspace is. The paths on the WSAD workspace directories can get quite large and if they exceed the windows max your application will not run properly, usually resulting in a similar error to this.

  • Problem with Local Interfaces (WSAD 5)

    I built an Entity Bean with Local Interface and a Remote Interface (apperently they both have the same JNDI name in WSAD)
    and when I look up for the name from other Session Bean (same EJB group) and I try to cast it to the local interface there is a classCastException.............
    HELP ME

    Nidhi
    I had the same problems as you that went away. If you have both remote and local interfaces defined, and your remote inerface can be accessed via JNDI lookup using (say) "ejb/sessionbean/stateless/HelloHome", then you can access the local intercafe using "local:ejb/ejb/sessionbean/stateless/HelloHome".
    The URL http://localhost:9080/UTC/initialize?port=2809 is very useful to browse the JNDI tree. Just expand "Local EJB beans" and position your mouse over the item of interest. The JNDI lookup name will echo in the bottom (solid) frame of the browser. The only problem is that the jndilookup name will appear (mistakenly) as local:/ejb/ejb/stateless......, just get rid of the first forward-slash to make it look like local:ejb/ejb/stateless....
    Hope this helps

  • Problem may be with saaj.jar and AXIS,WAS,WSAD

    Hi,
    I have successfully developed and deployed an EJB using WSAD 5.1.2's WebSphere 5.0 Test Environment. I have even able to access the EJB using UTC(Universal Test Client) in WSAD and by launching the j2ee client module using
    WebSphere lauchClient program.
    Basically I have below directory structure:
    a.ear
    --|-----axis.war
    -----------|------ lib
    --------------------|--- all axis related jars are here
    --|-----demoEjb.jar (has java jar dependencies set to axis.war\lib jars
    I have now exposed this ejb as web service using AXIS 1.2 RC2 deployed as web module inside WSAD. This web service is properly exposed as web service as I can see it and access its wsdl when I access axis web services.
    Now I have written a standalone-outside-wsad web service client that uses AXIS stubs and when I try to consume to this ejb web service I am getting below error.

    I read somewhere with axis mailing lists that it is problem related to axis's saaj.jar and wsad's websphere 5.0
    test environment's webservices.jar so I even replaced my wsad installation's D:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Studio\Application Developer\v5.1.2\runtimes\base_v5\lib\webservices.jar with
    saaj.jar but this did not help and even I have added an references to saaj.jar usign wsad's websphere 5.0 test environment
    environment tab->ws.ext.dirs property and even this did not help.
    Can anyone please tell me why is error occurring and how to solve it ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kumar.

    Yes :-)
    At the ear level, set the Classloader mode to PARENT_FIRST and WAR classloader policy to APPLICATION. At the axis web module level, set the Classloader mode to PARENT_LAST

    thank you !

    ... I as well am having the same problem after upgrading from JSF 1.0 to 1.1 on WSAD 5.1. Everything was working fine under JSF 1.0. I recall having similar difficulties when fist getting 1.0 to work, but I can't remeber what it was. I seem to remember something about the faces-config.xml file.

  • Classpath Problem in WSAD

    Hello,
    I am using WDSC (WSAD) 5.1. using JDK 1.3.
    There is a WAR file W1.war that has 3 dependent jar files: J1.jar, J2.jar, J3.jar.
    J2.jar has a class that accesses a properties file from the filesystem.
    Problem:
    I am trying to access this file without providing the absolute path since this needs to be ported. The problem is a FileNotFoundException.
    I have tried giving the appropriate folder in the SYSTEM Classpath, as a JVM -D option, in the server configuration, but in vain.
    I do not understand why this file is not being pickedup. If I export the war file and expand it, the file is present in the appropriate location.
    please advise
    cheers
    arun

    Or you can do what I do, and simply put your properties file in the referencing jar. Then allow the code to build a properties object from the byte stream representing that properties file.
    The main drawback of this approach is that once the app has been deployed it becomes much harder to update.
    However most of the clients that I deal with, don't want to touch an application once it has been deployed anyway. So worrying about configuring apps post installation, via an xml/properties file in my experience seems somewhat pointless.

  • WSAD Generate RMIC ResourceBundle Problem

    Hello Everyone,
    If anyone could answer this, I'd be grateful. This has even IBM people stumped.
    I created a Resource Bundle in the src directory a WSAD project. It's named Messages_en_US.properties. I've tested getting strings from this resource bundle, in an ejb, on Websphere, at runtime and it works fine.
    The problem comes when I want to create a static enum class which references this resource bundle. When I do that and run Generate RMIC, I get the following error in a window:
    com.ibm.etools.rmic.RMICException: RMIC Command returns RC = 1. The problems which stopped RMIC are displayed, and have also been recorded in the log file.
    Then in the log file, I get this exception:

    Tim

    Not sure if this is the answer but...
    Websphere starts it's Web container after it's EJB container. If the class that tries to call that is in the ejb level it might not have read the property file yet because that is in the web level.
    We had this problem and it was traced back to the threading of the start up.

    Regards,
    Shesha

    Hi,
    This problem is caused by bug in the jdbc oracle driver:
    oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBData.clearItem(DBData.java:431)
    Line 431 looks like:
    /* 431 */ if(m_items == null && i >= m_items.length) // it never works!
    NullPointerException occures when you call
    java.sql.CallableStatement.clearParameters()
    1. Avoid to call this method in your code.
    2. Websphere also calls this method in the WSJdbcConnection.class (while reusing the statement after caching it).
    You may force websphere not to reuse your statement for example by adding timestamp to it as comment:
    String timestamp = String.valueOf(System.currentTimeMillis());
    String myCommand = "call myprocedure( ?, ?) -- " + timestamp);
    conn.prepareCall(myCommand);

  • Problem with WSAD plugin

    I have a problem with the websphere studio v5.1.1 (eclipse) plugin.
    I've set up the plugin as explained in the doc. I've added the db2java.zip
    file with the other kodo libs for the db2 driver and added the following
    line in plugin.xml :
    <library name="db2java.zip"/>
    In the preference/kodo I've just filed the "kodo properties file" area
    with the name of my kodo.properties file. All other fields are empty
    The kodo.properties file contains (amongst other things):
    javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryClass=kodo.jdbc.runtime.JDBCPersistenceManagerFactory
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionDriverName=COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName=wasdev
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionPassword=<pwd>
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL=jdbc:db2:cluster
    kodo.jdbc.sql.DBDictionary=db2
    Now the problem. From WSAD, menu Kodo
    - menu "enhance metadata" works well
    - menus "refresh mapping", "drop mappings" and "build schema" give the
    following error: "kodo.util.FatalDataStoreException: No suitable driver"
    Note that the mappingtool works perfectly well with the same
    kodo.properties file and on the same package.jdo file outside WSAD.
    It seems that it finds the class "COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver" from
    db2java.zip, but is not able to map the url "jdbc:db2:cluster" to this
    driver.
    Context:
    - WSAD 5.1.1
    - DB2 7.2 FP11

    Thanks Kim!
    However it sounds strange that the mapping tools used outside WSAD
    recognize the db2 "app" type 2 driver format, and fail when they are use
    inside WSAD as plugins... Should it be reported as a bug with the usage of
    the "net" driver as workaround ?
    Stephen Kim wrote:
    First, I'd suggest trying the net (instead of app) or jcc driver.
    Second, I would try pointing kodo.properties to a specific file.

  • Problems with Toplink integration with JTS and WSAD

    We have a very strange problem.
    Description:
         We are attempting to integrate with JTS, insuring that TopLink does its transactional activity within the scope of a JTS transaction, as described in the Foundation Library Guide.
         We have a stateless session bean, a method of which implements a simple "insert" on a database table registerObject() on a unit of work). This bean is configured to use bean-managed transactions, but with a default resolver of rollback.
         The bean is launched in the WSAD test environment.
         When the bean method is invoked from the WSAD Universal Test Client (web app that runs in the same app server allowing discovery and unit test of bean methods), the code works. A row is inserted into the table, etc.
         Same code, same method, same (stateless) bean, same instance of the WSAD test environment, if the bean method is invoked from outside the application server (via a JUnit test driver that discovers the session bean via JNDI), the code breaks. The final JTS commit catches a javax.transaction.RollbackException, apparently without any sort of stack trace tacked to the exception printStackTrace() doesn't result in anything). No row is inserted.
         We can call the bean alternately, via these two approaches, under the same instance of test environment, and get different behavior.
         We don't understand. All (hopefully) of the relevant details follow.
    We are using:
         WSAD Version: 5.0.1 Build id: 20030423_1316
         TopLink - 9.0.3.3 (Build 430)
         Oracle 9i
    From our sessions.xml:
         <login>
              <driver-class>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</driver-class>
              <datasource>project</datasource>
              <platform-class>oracle.toplink.internal.databaseaccess.OraclePlatform</platform-class>
              <uses-external-connection-pool>true</uses-external-connection-pool>
              <uses-external-transaction-controller>true</uses-external-transaction-controller>
         </login>
         <external-transaction-controller-class>oracle.toplink.jts.was.JTSExternalTransactionController_5_0</external-transaction-controller-class>
    From our project XML:
         <uses-external-connection-pooling>true</uses-external-connection-pooling>
         <uses-external-transaction-controller>true</uses-external-transaction-controller>
    The code that breaks:
         SessionManager sm = SessionManager.getManager();
         Server ss = (Server) sm.getSession("project", TestBean.class.getClassLoader());
         ClientSession cs = ss.acquireClientSession();
         Context c = new InitialContext();
         UserTransaction t = (UserTransaction) c.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
         t.begin();
         UnitOfWork u = ss.getActiveUnitOfWork();
         u.registerObject(value);
         u.commit();
         t.commit(); /* this throws javax.transaction.RollbackException */
    Thanks.

    Strange problem, could be a Websphere issue, or an issue with the JTSExternalTransactionController_5_0.
    Try configuring TopLink to not use JTS and see if the same problem still occurs. Also turn on TopLink logging and exception logging and your Websphere server logging to see if you can get the real exception and stack that is causing the RollbackException.
    This could be an issue with the JTSExternalTransactionController_5_0 as the original version of the controller did have a JTS issue. Make sure you are no the latest patch and check with support to see if they have a patch for this problem.

  • Problems with WSAD 5.1.1 and JMX

    Hi At All!
    I'm really newbie with JMX and i'm trying to implement a quick-and-dirty client JMX which connect with a server using IIOP://. I'm using a WSAD 5.1.1
    When try to execute, throws the next exception:
    "Exception in thread "P=xxxxxx:O=0:CT" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.ibm.ws.orbimpl.transport.WSTCPTransportConnection: method getConnectTimeout()I not found"
    I don't understand what's happens!
    The client code is this:
    String jndiPath="/jndi/JMXConnector";
    String urlString = "service:jmx:iiop://127.0.0.1:2809" +jndiPath;
    JMXServiceURL url = new JMXServiceURL(urlString);
    Hashtable h = new Hashtable();
    h.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL,"corbaloc:iiop:1.0@localhost:2809/NameService");
    h.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL,"corbaloc:iiop:1.0@localhost:2809/HelloAgent");
    h.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory");
    try{
    JMXConnector jmxc = (JMXConnector) JMXConnectorFactory.connect(url,h);
    JMXConnectorFactory.connect(url);
    MBeanServerConnection mbsc = jmxc.getMBeanServerConnection();}
    catch(Exception e){
    System.out.println("Error creating connection:");
    e.printStackTrace();
    Reading in forums I put the following jars in the client side
    naming.jar;namingclient.jar;jtsPrivate.jar;
    jmx-ri.jar;jmxremote.jar;ecutils.jar;
    bootstrap.jar; ffdc.jar; idl.jar;
    sas.jar; admin.jar; wsexception.jar;
    jmxc.jar; jmxext.jar; jmxx.jar;
    wasjmx.jar;ras.jar; iwsorb.jar;
    ibmorb.jar; ibmorbapi.jar
    Also i configure the implfactory.properties as follows:
    #Config Repository Remote Client
    com.ibm.websphere.management.repository.client.ConfigRepositoryClient.remote=
    com.ibm.ws.management.repository.client.JMXRemoteConfigRepositoryClient
    I hope your answers and thanks in advance!
    Best Regards!
    PD: Sorry my poor english!

    Same problem since last night (imac 2.5 i5, Lion 10.7.4, Safari 5.1.7).

  • WSAD 5.1.2 and Relational Records - anyone else having problems?

    Hi,
    I am a bit of a newbie with JSF and as such have limited understanding. However, when trying to insert a Relational Record using WSAD 5.1.2, I keep having problems.
    I am trying to use a relational databse (one that is normalized) where there are two tables (MAIN and SUB_SET_OF_MAIN). Main contains a primary key which is REF and this is the same key in SUB_SET_OF_MAIN where it is also a foreign key.
    I then try and insert a new Relational Record, set the auto key generation on the MAIN table. I complete the wizard and test my page. I would expect the two tables to update with the key generation and the data to also populate in the tables.
    But I keep getting problems with the bean. I have now given up on this, but was wondering if anyone else was having this problem and how they resolved it?
    Thanks
    BB

    I was having the same problem with my iPad (first gen) and my iphone 4. After 24 hours of restoring the device, resetting email settings, etc., I finally found that there was an old email in my inbox on the mail server that wasn't visible on my devices (imac, ipad, iphone). I went into webmail on Godaddy and deleted it ... everything worked after that. I can't say this will work for you but it's worth a shot to look at your webmail for any emails that should have been deleted but didn't. BTW, the offending email was text only with no attachments.
    Good luck!

  • Creating jar file gives problem in WSAD IDE

    Hi,
    i programmatically created a Jar file successfully. I am able to open
    the jar file and read the jar file properly. But when i try to include that jar file into WSAD, it cannot recognize the class files within it.
    Any help would a great input.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sapan.

    >
    2) U are having one program in which u are creating
    jar as well as using the class file in it at runtime
    using reflection. If this is the case then u might
    have to check manifest file of the project.
    If none of the above is the case then please explain
    little bit more, what r u trying to do.
    Regards,
    Samip.I m creating the jar file and then use the classes in the jar file through reflection / generics. I checked the default jar file that is created using jar command, and the manifest file doesnt have anything except, Sun Microsystems and jdk version.
    It seems that the problem is with the manifest of the jar file that is created. There is something that is missing in the jar file, and WSAD 4.0.3 expects the same.
    Regards,
    Sapan.

  • Entity bean problem in WSAD 5.1.0

    Hi,
    I created Bean to RDBMS mapping using top-down approach and deployed successfully. But while starting the server it is giving the following problem (only first few lines pasted..). Any help how to solve this problem, would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    you should check out the entity bean persistence related settings in deployment descriptor. (I have not worked on WSAD for a long time now). The error clearly says that it is not able to find out the datasource (which is being used to persist the entity bean).
    hope it helps.
