  • [SQL QUERY] Select TCP Port Monitors and their related Watcher Node

    Hi everybody,
    I'm working on a SSRS report and SQL Query, I have no problem to find all my TCP Port Monitor (SCOM 2012 R2) based on the DisplayName, but I can't figure out how to get their related watcher nodes (in my case only 1 computer is a watcher node).
    I can't find which table, which field, contains this information..?
    Here is the query i started to write (i select * since i still searching for the right column):
    SELECT
    FROM StateView s
    INNER JOIN BaseManagedEntity me on me.BaseManagedEntityId=s.BaseManagedEntityId
    INNER JOIN MonitorView mv on mv.Id=s.MonitorId
    INNER JOIN ManagedTypeView mtv on mtv.Id=s.TargetManagedEntityType
    --where mv.DisplayName like 'Ping Target Status Check%'
    AND me.IsDeleted = '0'
    where mv.DisplayName like '%tcpmon%'
    and mv.LanguageCode = 'ENU'
    --and s.HealthState in (@state)
    ORDER BY s.Lastmodified DESC
    It would be great if someone can help me !
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    After creating a TCP port monitor, we can find a table for this monitor under operationsmanager database :
    SELECT *
    FROM [OperationsManager].[dbo].[MT_TCPPortCheck_******WatcherComputersGroup]
    You will find the warcher computer group.

  • Possibly mundane Mini-DVI to VGA into an external monitor problem

    Hi,
    I've had a look over the interwebs regarding my problem and it seems as if it's not unusual to have external monitor problems but I'm not sure if mine is slightly different:
    I had a perfectly working set up with my new Macbook (the white one, '06 model I believe), that was connected to my Hanns-G HU196D monitor via a mini-DVI to VGA adapter, no problems whatsoever. But for a couple of weeks now my Macbook just flickers a light blue colour, with nothing at all on the monitor, and my macbook is unusable until I remove the adapter. I've read about updating firmware but I can't see my desktop once the macbook is connected to the monitor so it's not possible to configure anything. I've read somewhere that my external monitor isn't compatible with this set up, but it was until a couple of weeks ago!
    My Macbook's 4 months old now and since then I've bought a new mini-dvi to vga adapter and a new VGA cable, no connections seem loose on either mini-dvi port or my monitor's vga port.
    Thanks if you can help!
    Jack

    You will need to use a mini Dvi-dvi and a dvi-svideo/rca adapter.
    Joy joy hallelujah.
    Pardon the sarcasm...I just wasted 3 hours of my life trying to sort the issue out.
    Heard a KWORLD PlusTV PCTOTV Converter SA235 USB 2.0 Interface would sort the issue out for under 40$ but it's not Mac.
    Hope that helps.

  • Tcp/ip communication problem

    hello,
    what i have is a tcp/ip communication problem.   the server needs to see the connection on the client side terminate before it can reply with data.  so i'm not sure the best way to
    solve this.  i tried to use a sequence structure to have the client open a connection  and then send data across the port and then terminate the connection.  the next part in the sequence would then open a connection and wait for the reply form the server.  i had this in a while loop. an example vi would be very appreciated

    Hi,
    You can search for TCP Communicator -Passive.vi and TCP Communicator -Active.vi examples in the example finder by selecting Help->Find Examples.

  • Is it possible to use TCP/IP Monitor with web services?

    Hi!
    I have created a web service in workshop 10 and deployed it on a WLS10 inside workshop. I have turned on TCP/IP monitoring and in this case it uses port 13458. I have also generated a test client using the clientgen ANT task.
    Now I'm using the generated client classes in the following way:
    TestWSXSDService service = new TestWSXSDService_Impl ("http://localhost:13458/TestWSXSD/TestWSXSD?WSDL");
    TestWSXSD port = service.getTestWSXSDSoapPort();
    Apparently the classes retrieves the WSDL file from the server and this request show up on the TCP/IP Monitor.
    However, when I finally executes my request:
    port.hello(in);
    it's apparently using the endpoint information from the retrieved WSDL file and the request goes to port 7001.
    This is the request I want to monitor! Is there a way to make this work with the client classes generated by clientgen or must I make my client in some other way in order to keep a fixed end point against the TCP/IP Monitor?
    Thank you.
    /John

    Hi!
    I tried to set the suggested properties both on the client and server side, but as far as I can tell they don't wotk with WLS 10. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    I tried to serach the documentation and found weblogic.webservice.verbose documented for WLS 8 and weblogic.webservice.client.verbose documented for WLS 9. I couldn't find anything for WLS 10.
    But then I re-found something about using a proxy server from a client [url http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/webserv/client.html#proxy_server]. This actually does the trick. So now my code looks like this:
                   TestWSXSDService service = new TestWSXSDService_Impl ();
                   TestWSXSD port = service.getTestWSXSDSoapPort();
              Proxy p = new Proxy(Proxy.Type.HTTP, new InetSocketAddress("localhost", 13458));
              HttpTransportInfo info = new HttpTransportInfo();
              info.setProxy(p);
              ((Stub)port)._setProperty("weblogic.wsee.connection.transportinfo",info);
    This keeps the client use my TCP/IP Monitor as endpoint.

  • Operations Manager 2012 - TCP Port Monitor

    Hi,
    Is it possible to have the TCP port monitor only alert if it fails on subsequent polls, instead of the single connection failure which is the default? We have 3 GPRS connections which intermittently
    fail, so we only need to be alerted if they don't come back online after a 5-10 minute inverval and 2 failed connection attempts in a row.  We have orchestrator so perhaps a runbook needs to be created?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Yes. The Runbook could do this trick. I think you need to make the monitors not to generate alerts when health state changes. Then use runbook to monitor the Health State, if some conditions are ture, an alert will be generated.
    I am not so familiar with Orchestrator, you may ask at Orchestrator to get answered of how to design the Runbook.

  • M93p dual monitor problems; monitor turns off and cannot be turned on again

    Hi,
    we have multiple M93p tiny computers causing problems in dual monitor setup (VGA / Displayport->DVI). Our users (already >5)  keep telling us, they leave their workplace, return, then DVI attached monitor if off and they do not find a way to turn it on. This is true; the only workaround that has been found by our users is to bring Win7/32bit into standby mode and awaking it again.
    Needless to say, we turned all windows energy saving options off (computer standby/hibernate, monitor turn off). Still the problem appears.
    Maybe there is something wrong with DVI power/DVI signal?
    - Monitor independent, as far as I can see
    - Independent from Windows energy saving modes
    - BIOS updates did not help
    [todo]: Try Intel/(AMD?) drivers, let users test.
    I haven't seen exactly when the monitor turns off because it is reported by users. I had a testing machine, but was not able to reproduce.
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/A-M-and-Edge-Series-ThinkCentre/Dual-monitors-problem-VGA-and-Displaypor... is related.
    Anyone?

  • Activity Monitor problems increase CPU and power burn

    Migration Assistant worked very nicely, transferring from a Powerbook G4 with 30GB of files and data in about 45min via Firewire.
    However, after 2 days of usage, the CPU was still running at 80% and applications were incredibly sluggish. My battery calibration at full charge only showed a little over 1 hour. Activity Monitor also would not show any processes -- the list was completely blank.
    The solution was to rename the Preferences folder, allowing programs to create a new Preferences folder. I then selectively populated the new folder with the main old preferences for mail, Safari, etc. This not only solved the Activity Monitor problem, but immediately drove down the CPU usage to about 10% where I'd expect it. Now the battery shows over 2.5 hrs on a full charge with the screen on full brightness (and it's BRIGHT!)
    Also, Microsoft Word/Powerpoint/Excel/Entourage: trial software on the MacBookPro will mess up your migration, so delete the trial software BEFORE MIGRATION ASSISTANT.
    Hope this helps some of you out there!

    Another thing users who run Migration Assistant should know is that many of your background processes and helpers may slow down the Macbook.
    For example, I notice that a bunch of PowerPC menu items running under Rosetta slowed things down. Also, the Microsoft Office Autoupdate background process, which is started from System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items constituted one Rosetta process running all of the time.
    When I remove/disabled these background processes, I noticed a significant difference.

  • 2011 Macbook Pro External Monitor Problems

    Hi all,
    Looking through some of the threads, it appears that getting macbook pros to work with an external monitors is a big issue.
    I've just bought a phillips 27" monitor and I'm having no luck whatsoever getting my MBP to see it.  I've tried both HDMI and DVI using Apple's own mini adapters, but no matter I do, the monitor fails to detect any kind of signal and goes into sleep mode.
    I occassionally get the blue screen flicker on my MBP as though it's trying to connect, but the monitor does nothing!!
    I've tried most of the suggestions in other threads, which relate to earlier OSX versions, but nothing has helped.
    I'm running 10.8.4 on a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7.
    If I fire up my Apple TV, I can use mirroring and the monitor displays my desktop no problem, but the picture quality is poor. So I guess the monitor works. I want to use a bigger screen as I use Logic Pro, so clarity is pretty essential when it comes to picture quality.
    Any help would be most appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Phil

    Hello Phil,
    The following article provides a number of troubleshooting steps that I'd recommend looking into, especially testing with another display if possible, and resetting the MacBook Pro's parameter RAM and SMC.

  • New eMachine w/Windows 7 and HP f1703 monitor problem

    Truly fed up at this moment, and not really tech savvy, but will try to be brief with problem:
    Had an HP Pavilion a767c which came with f1703 monitor - purchased around 2005 or so ... ran great, no problems, monitor functioned beautifully.  Had some storms come through area about 2 weeks ago, lost power several times, a767c started acting up (shutting itself off at night, but would come back on ... finally died, went through all the diagnostics, yesterday decided to purchase new controller, got an emachine at Best Buy, want to use HP monitor).
    About a minute into boot, f1703 changes from a "starting Windows" message to a "PC video resolution setting out of range" moving message ... never comes up to Windows desktop screen.  If I plug in an older CRT type monitor, everything comes up fine.  Have checked Control Panel, shows emachine hooked up to generic monitor ... found resolution settings, they are set for the 1280 x 1024 and made sure was at 60 Hz.  Just went through the diagnostic procedure here on HP for message during boot ... do not get any OSD when Menu button on monitor pressed ... I don't believe we've EVER pushed/accessed this feature in all the years we've had the monitor ... so I'm stuck at this point in going through diagnostics.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Dave, so sorry, but telling me my monitor is "VGA only" really isn't helping my confusion (original post did state I'm not too tech savvy).  I had my stepson (who is more tech savvy) work with the link you provided previously to download updated driver info from Intel.  Here is a rundown of everything we worked on yesterday with this beast:
    As a recap - if I hook up the f1703 directly to the emachine (video port states HDMI on back panel) and boot the machine, get the normal starting boot display and also a "Windows starting" display ... before the desktop screen comes up, the monitor goes into an error message stating resolution not set correctly at 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz.  From that point, I never get to the desktop, the monitor is basically frozen.  emachine is running Windows 7 64bit.
    Pressing F8 during boot will allow me to get into Safe Mode, but in Safe Mode I can't download anything, and I'm very limited in what I can/cannot change.
    If I hook up an old CRT style monitor FIRST and boot the emachine, everything comes up normally ... I was able to find the HP f17093 driver in Windows 7 and get that driver set up with the 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz resolution.  AT THAT POINT, if I unplug the CRT and plug in the f1703, I can use the computer normally and the display is excellent ... so to my way of thinking, there has to be an issue with some video command during boot that is sending a false signal to the monitor.  Make sense???
    I hooked the f1703 up to a different emachine (also running Windows 7) and I have the exact same problem ... locks up during boot before desktop screen.  For the heck of it, I'm going to try hooking the monitor up to a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista later tonight to see what, if anything, I get with that.
    Downloading the updated driver info from Intel really didn't accomplish anything positive ... although the Intel site stated there was updated drivers available, after downloading the emachine had picked up some kind of generic flatscreen driver to use and same issue existed, so that's not what's doing it.
    Oh, one other thing:  after getting the complete boot on the CRT, then switching plugs to hook up the f1703 I was able to access the monitor's OSD menus ... went through and reset to factory settings ... no difference ... monitor still hangs during boot when hooked up first directly.
    Dave, when you said VGA only, are you trying to tell me the output on the video card is not correct for the f1703 monitor?  Sorry, I just don't understand the HDMI stuff (what that is in layman's/idiot's terms).  Do I have to have a different video card?  Adapter?
    Thank you both (CherylG and Dave) for your patience and assistance ... this is just so frustrating.  I used to understand alot more back in the DOS/CPM days.

  • Mac Mini DVI Monitor Problems

    Hi all,
    I'm running OSX10.8.5 on a Mac Mini 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 with 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory and Intel HD 4000 512MB graphics.
    I've just upgraded my monitor from a VGA 17" to an AOC E2462VWH 24" monitor, plugged into my computer via DVI with a Thunderbolt adaptor.
    In a normal boot-up, the monitor displays video for a split second and then cuts to black. The picture works fine in Safe Boot mode but video is jerky, everything loads slower, I can't play .mov files (Quicktime tells me unknown error -101) and there is an annoying flicker every 10 seconds. The fact the monitor works fine in Safe Boot suggests to me the problem is software. Resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz and OSX is not letting me change that via Settings.
    I went searching for drivers only to lean it sounds like OSX deals with monitors in a plug-n-play format. Is this true?
    Firstly, can I confirm my mini has the power to drive this monitor?
    Besides that, can you please help me figure out how to boot this computer so the monitor displays in normal boot-up mode?
    Thanks for your help!

    Then it sounds like yo need one of these:

  • Dual Monitor problem and an idea

    Hey everyone. I use two monitors and when i have iTunes open on the primary one(the laptob monitor) i am able to scroll through my music in iTunes using my mouse wheel. However, when iTunes is opened on the other monitor, scrolling through songs with the mouse wheel doesnt work and i have to do it using the scroll bar. Other applications such as firefox scroll just fine on both monitors. Any ideas??
    Also, I couldnt find anywhere to post suggestions so im just gonna do it here. I think it would be nice to be able to save playlists and then be able to load them if you ever have to reinstall itunes or there is some other issue. I know you can just put the music into categorized folders in windows explorer, but that doesnt allow you to have the same song in more than one playlist unless you copy the music file. I dont think it would be very hard to do, just save to some file that stores the file name and location of each song. then upon importing the playlist, it could scan the saved location for that file and add it to the playlist if its there, and if not it could ask you what other folder it should scan in for that song. I think this would be very beneficial for people that create many large playlists that would take hours to recreate.
    Thanks for your help,
    Adam

    I assume you have installed the latest drivers for the card? I have that
    card and dual monitors with no problems. By the way, go to the NVIDA
    site and download the drivers, not the Sony site as some do. There was a
    new version of the driver just last month.

  • Bootcamp, Windows 7, External Monitor Problem

    I am trying to hook my mac up to my 32" JVC monitor. It works perfect on the mac side, but when I turn it over to the windows 7 side there is an issue. If I do 'duplicate these displays', half of the bottom bar is cut off and about half an inch or so of space is cut from all edges. This is not an issue all the time, but it is annoying and it does get in the way on certain occasions. How would I fix this? I have tried the different resolutions, but to no avail, a lot of the space is still cut off. I have tried 'detect' and 'identify', but neither of those work. I've tried going into the nvidia panel, but there is no option to adjust the resolution manually to fit the screen.
    The problem isn't so much the resolution. The resolution is perfect and crystal clear! The real problem is that so much gets cut off the edges. Is there any way to manually adjust it to where it needs to be?

    Okay, well, I got it to work, but only in single mode (had to disable the actual mac screen).
    Is there a way to do this in duplicate/mirrored mode? I know on the mac side everything fits perfectly even in mirrored and everything.
